S6 not registered on network etc... - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Morning all
We have an issue with my wife's S6(UK, stock up to date software, EE network)
A day ago if she tried to make a call and she just got a message stating 'Not registered on network. She's not getting any incoming calls or text messages either. And not able to use mobile data (wi-fi ok)
Tried all of the normal things, restarts, manually selecting network etc. The only thing that solves the issue is to select 2G only in the network settings, then calls and texts are ok, but obviously mobile data is non existent.
We have been though the troubleshooting with EE on the phone, part of this was to try another SIM which did not solve it, so we know the problem is with the phone.
Also done full factory reset last night, did not help at all.
Any ideas apart from sending it for repair, as EE are telling us?
Not wanting to root or modify in any way that is going to void warranty
Thanks in advance

Unable to send Text SMS with Data on - Samsung Gio - Android

I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio on the Telus network. The phone is rooted and unlocked. (was originally with Bell)
I am unable to send text sms messages with Data Packets (aka Data) ON.
IF I turn Data Packets (Data) OFF I can send no problem, as well as when I put WIFI on (Which also deactivates Data)
When I attempt to send it simply says "FAILED"
Things I have tried:
I have contacted my service provider, they have tried to trace my failed SMS messages and cannot see them on their side.
I have tried changing and re-entering the SMSC #.
Performed a factory reset
Reflashed factory ROM
Placed a Rogers SIM in the phone and was able to send without issue
Placed a Bell SIM in the phone and was able to send without issue
Placed my SIM in 3 other phones (Google Phone, BB Bold, Iphone 3GS) and was able to send without issue
Tried Apps - GO SMS PRO and Handcent
It seems that there is a compatibility problem with Samsung GIO and the Telus network.
All other features work flawlessly, I can receive texts and surf without issue.
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Found a person on another forum with the same phone from the Bell network unlocked, working on Telus with both DATA and OUTGOING SMS Text messages.
So I know its not all Samsung Gio phones that are effected.
So either my phone has a unique glitch or the network where I am isn't acting the same way.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
Did you ever consider that your SIM card could have a problem?
Tried my SIM card in other phones and works fine, can send texts with data on.
Does that rule out the SIM card or could the sim card be defective only in certain types of phones?

Any other ideas on why Data would effectively block SMS Text messages from leaving the phone?
Are you certain you have sufficient signal?
Is it definately SMS and not MMS your trying to send?
Might be worth checking your APN settings.
Had you checked your message settings in your phone? Had you checked whether the service number in your phone is proper or not? It will be also an default if you don't enter proper messaging center number, it could be also an reason that your messages are to be shown failed.

I am certain I have sufficient signal. After receving a "FAILED TO SEND" while DATA is ON I can turn data off and click and hold on the message and hit RESEND and the message sends fine.
Definately SMS - MMS works fine.
I have checked APN settings.
What I did notice about the APN settings is that Telus incorporates both data and MMS into 1 APN. My friend on Rogers has 2 separate APN settings for MMS and Data however I don't see how that would affect anything.

Yes I have auto-updated the Service #, manually inputted it in both decimal and hexidecimal, and changed to a backup service # that Telus provided for me.
Still unable to send.
I am having the same issue. I have this phone with a Telus SIM. Help!
Same problem Sasktel
Same problem with text message on sasktel with gio
no solution yet
help
I did not test this myself. (I have data of cose i have no internet for my phone) But sometime my phone wont send a sms. It keeps waiting. And i see the signal is gone. After i restart the phone the message is sms send and my signal is back.
Firware issue
I work for a tele communications company and we are seeing an increase of this situation for the gio as of Monday on our networks. It is the firmware that is preventing the phone from sending the messages. The problem has been flaged and submitted to samsung/android. They would have to perform an upgrade to the software on the devices.
Not all phones are affected the easiest way to check if your phone may have this issue is to check the plan on the phone. Under settings in about phone, bottom of the page, if you get GINGERBREAD.MUGKG3 than it will be this issue.
This is not a network related issue but firmware. It may be an inconvienence to swith data off and on but sit tight and wait for an update. Hopefully Samsung/Android find a solution soon.

[Q] No SMS while on wifi, can't switch from wifi to cellular

My Nexus 5 is running Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop). Unlocked, not rooted. My carrier is Cricket. Here is what happens:
1. If the phone is connected to a WiFi network, I am unable to send text messages. The message will attempt sending for a while and then basically timeout. The app will report that the send failed. This will happen no matter what application I use (Hangouts, Google Messenger, chompSMS...). If I'm on the cellular network, texts send find. EDIT: Actually I'm seeing that's not actually true. Even when I'm on LTE, there's no guarantee messages will send. I can't actually detect a pattern here.
2. I am unable to switch from WiFi to cellular data by turning WiFi off. If I'm on WiFi and I disable Wifi in the Settings panel, the cellular indicator will change to show 2 or 3 bars of service with an exclamation point (!), seemingly indicating that I'm either not on the network or that I don't have data. If I reboot the phone I'll have full LTE.
I first started noticing the issues with text messaging back when I was running CM11 nightlies. Everything was fine and then a few weeks ago it started happening. I figured something had gotten messed up in those builds so I flashed to stock Lollipop but the problem persisted. I flashed to 5.0.1 and the problem remains. I also tried switching carriers from Cricket to T-Mobile, but T-Mobile service was so bad in my area that I had to switch back the next day; I didn't really get a chance to put it through its paces.
I know this is a weird one, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help request: LTE Data works,"no service" otherwise. IMEI/number, but no texts/calls.

Help request: LTE Data works,"no service" otherwise. IMEI/number, but no texts/calls.
Software: Android 5.0.1 Skydragon M8 v2.0 Sense 7
Many people have posted issues with LTE where their cellular signal was fine for "2G" functions like calls and texts.
I'm having the opposite problem. After leaving airplane mode (landing at an airport today), I have a "No Service" message in the status bar drop down (notification tray), and the Settings>Network information page shows "Not Registered." However, I do have an IMEI (see details below). However, LTE data works perfectly fine.
I've obviously tried changing the settings in Settings>Mobile Data (preferred network to Global / LTE / LTE/legacy 3GPP mode) connection type global/auto/LTE/etc), to no avail. If LTE is connected it works flawlessly, but I cannot make calls or texts, and show not registered on the network. Data roaming is set to deny, but even allowing roaming does not change the situation.
Before this happened, I HAD gone through all the XTended Settings, and even 'looked' at (but did NOT change) some advanced settings pages, including the 'hidden' HTC network info page ( *#*#4636#*#* ). Again, however, I didn't change anything -- unless by accident?!
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyone know if I may have inadvertently changed something and can change it back (a setting that would persist in the hardware through NANDROID restores and factory resets...). Or, any other advice to restore the cellular service connection to normal?
I've tried a full NANDROID restore (multiple times) to a working copy, and a factory reset. I have limited access to a PC since I'm traveling, so re-flashing the VZW firmware or stock recovery or lollipop/verizon RUU would be challenging.
I did spend a good 45 minutes (at a library, my only PC access!) searching the forums and web, but to no avail.
Settings information:
OPperator Name: Verizon
Signal Strength -114 (I've had better but still have the same issues)
Mobile Network type: LTE
Service state: In service
IMS service state: Not Registered
Roaming: Not Roaming
Phone Identity page:
IMEI shows up (15-digit number...how can I verify I didn't mess this up?)
Phone Number is correct
IP Address: 100.66..... (looks good)
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I'm having the same issue. When i try to make a call my LTE bars drop to nothing and it says call failed no network available. Any ideas or help would be nice. I was using venom rom as well. I'm currently trying to flash the newest RRU to see if that resets things. I'm wondering if it somehow my sim card. I took it from my droid turbo. I've made sure to turn off advanced calling on my VZW account though.

I had this same issue, running from ruu then rooted. I didn't noticed until I started seeing voice mail notifications but never heard the phone ring. When I tried to dial out I got the immediate call lost message. I couldn't figure what was causing it so I just did a reset. I made sure not to restore any systems data from prior to the Lollipop upgrade. At this point everything is working, the only thing I haven't installed yet is the xposed framework and sense 6 toolbox.

What kind of reset did you do? I know my issue is slightly different, but I did a full RUU-flash yesterday (latest lollipop version) and still no luck. Unfortunately I'm out of the country now and access to a computer is limited, and I don't even have a SIM card yet to check if cellular service would work anyway.
I do intend to do a flash of the stock recovery and radios once I have the time and access, but that may be a while...
Still, I'll keep checking this thread to see if anyone posts any other options

Just go into settings and to Backup & Reset , this will return your phone to a fresh install and remove all non bundled apps.
Before doing the reset try going into Settings then Call then change Preferred Network to Global, or toggle from LTE then back to Global.

Mobile Network Not Available

Hi folks,
This is my first post on here. I'm having a problem with my phone which I think is quite unique and I hope someone on here can help me fix it before I buy a new device.
I have a galaxy nexus (maguro) running cyaogenmod.
Previously I was running CM11 (cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-maguro) from the CM website and updated it to CM12.1 cm-12.1-20160719-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO8DL-maguro) a few weeks ago.
When I rebooted my phone it was running very slow (and getting very warm) so I did a factory reset and re-installed CM12.1.
It started working ok but I noticed that my phone was displaying 'emergency calls only' even though the network reception in the status bar was full, displaying 'H' (3g) and allowing me to connect to the internet using 3G.
Whenever I make a call it states 'Mobile network not available' and I cannot send text messages.
I tried phoning O2 and they gave me a new sim but the problem was still happening. I then tried putting my girlfriend's EE sim into the phone and I could make calls/send messages. I also went to France on holiday and could use my phone to phone/text using my O2 sim abroad. Whenever I put my O2 sim into another phone I can make calls and text.
So basically it is only when my O2 sim is specifically in the Galaxy Nexus that I cannot make calls/send texts but can still use 3g.
Oh yeah when I go to Settings>Mobile Network Settings>Network Operators the following available networks are shown:
O2-UK
T-Mobile UK
3 UK
vodafone UK
Orange
When I select O2-UK is states 'cannot connect at this time. Please try again later'
I've tried re-installing the older version of CM11 and today I tried wiping the entire phone (internal sd card etc) and it is still happening. Can anyone help? Is there something else I can wipe, or setting I can change?
Thanks in advance

OPO only connects to roaming network

Tl;dr: OPO refuses to connect to my default home network, instead chooses roaming. Cannot text or call and data will not work on roaming (they used to).
BACKSTORY
Hello, my OPO was working almost perfectly for 2 years without any significant damage like water or drops. Then, in November of 2016, I went on a trip to Europe for a few months (I live in Canada), and used my OPO occasionally there, by roaming when I needed to make calls. (Used my regular cell plan with an extra worldwide option)
When I got back to Canada, I had a stopover flight in Toronto, where I was able to connect to my HOME network and make a call and some texts. Also used some data during this time. Then, I flew the rest of the way to Vancouver. There, I was able to connect to my HOME network and send some texts and use data for about an hour. That was at the end of February.
THE PROBLEM
Since then (last 1.5 months) I have been unable to connect to my HOME network. My OPO will only connect to the AWAY/ROAMING network, even when I go into Network Operators and manually force HOME - it just says it's unable to connect at this time.
When connected to AWAY, I typically can not do anything. However, sometimes, I will be able to receive calls, and send and receive texts. No data, and no sending calls. Before this whole problem started, I was usually able to call and text and use data on AWAY.
WHAT I HAVE TRIED
Choosing different Network Operators, different Network Types (WIND is WCDMA). Problem persists.
Deleting and creating new APNs from the current information on carrier's site. Problem persists.
Ensure that my OPO can read the IMEI. It does
Went to carrier (WIND, aka Freedom Mobile) and tried the store's demo SIM that uses an alternate account. Problem persists.
Carrier tried my SIM in their own phone. Worked on that phone.
Carrier gave me a new SIM for my account.Problem persists.
Reset my OPO to factory defaults, including apps and data. Problem persists.
Format my OPO and flashed different ROMs (including various CM and stock releases from KitKat to Nougat). Problem persists.
Flashed different modems available for OPO from the various original CM11 ROMS, as well as one from a CM12 ROM. Problem persists.
Tried the SIM card from a friend's phone on a different carrier (Virgin Mobile in Canada).Problem persists.
Removed my StyleSwap cover and ensured antennas and antenna pins were clean and making contact. Problem persists.
Tested Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS to ensure other antennas were working. They are functioning
Use online tool to see if IMEI is blacklisted. It is not, and problem persists.
Took my OPO with me when travelling to various parts of British Columbia over 100KM away to test different cell masts. Problem persists.
CONCLUSION
That is as much detail as I can think of. I would be happy to provide more if it may help. I already had a chat with OnePlus's live support and email, and was told I would need a repair, which would cost a few hundred dollars.
I am also thinking about buying a used/broken OPO for cheap and swap the motherboard, however there are not many available near me right now, and this also carries some risks akin to buying stolen phones.
I am pretty tech savvy, so feel free to go into as much detail as you can.
Thank you for any and all the help you are able to give!
