I am facing an issue related to Speakers not working but everything works fine on earphone/headphone.
Other issue is Not able to hear while on call but everything works finr if I use Handsfree Loudspeaker mode. I went to the service centre today and they have flash a rom and checked but nothing changed. So they suggest to replace the main board which costs around 14k. Has anybody faced similar issue before , any kind of help appreciated.

I am using One Plus One and it is out of warranty . Yesterday my speaker stops working , but sound is coming on headset/earphone also Ringtone /Alarm tone sound is coming from speaker. When i make a call If it is on speakermode/handsfree then audio coming fine but no sounds comes on normal mode. So i am facing following issues on my One plus one out of warranty phone:
1. No sound coming when play songs( sound is coming fine on earphones.)
2. No sound coming on normal call/ but came while i use Loudspeaker/Handsfree during call

This seemed to only recently have come up.. but the handset microphone does not pick up sound nearly as well. It is maybe 1/10th the amplitutde. I've tested phone calls to myself (to GVoice headphones, other phones, etc.) and the speaker mic works great. When you take it off speaker mode it barely picks up sound at all.
When I use Evernote voice note recorder or a simply voice recorder I get similar results of extremely attenuated sound.
I do not _believe it is a CM10/custom ROM issue as this new behavior seems to have only started recently (past 2 days?) and was running the same stable ROM the whole time. I haven't yet isolated, but it could be a bluetooth problem (doubtful) - as I recently paired with two devices sometime in the past 3 days, or maybe some App has taken control over the amplification of the handset microphone.. but I install/uninstall so many apps to test throughout any given day this would be hard to isolate.
Has anyone had this issue before??
I'll go ahead and reset to a clean ROM, stock ROM, etc. and see what results I get, but I wanted to post a Q first to see if anyone ran into the same issue. Thanks in advance!

My old Sensation - passed down to a relative - had an earlier Viper rom. After they accidentally smashed the touch screen, we got it repaired and, somewhere between that and upgrading firmware/rom, the mic issue appeared i.e. the in-caller could not hear what was said at our end.
After sending it off to get a new mic it still didn't work!
Video recording was fine but Voice Recorder or In-Call, NO.
In desperation I spent the best part of 3 hours reverting firmware and roms until finally I got the mic working again with good old CoreDroid 6.0 albeit a bit low/under water. Then I put the latest firmware on and hey presto it's working again. Still not for voice recorder but we can live with that.
(Makes me wonder how many microphones are there!).
Just goes to show that some issues may not be just hardware failures!
Hi all,
I am from Australia and got a sony z3 the weekend and so far it has been great but I am having an issue when talking to people over viber/skype. When using video chat or loud speaker the other person can hear themselves back quit loudly like it is an echo. Even if i put the headphones in on my phone they can still hear themselves back but it isn't as loud.
If I switch to my old samsung s3 it has no problems I am using the same wifi etc same location and calling the same people.
There doesn't seem to be much of a issue when calling normal and using the loud speaker. Just with apps like viber/skype.
Does anyone else have this issue at all? Or can anyone test video/using loud speaker on Viber and letting me know if they have the same issue or is my phone possibly faulty?
Thanks Matt
Try a reboot.
Or try another app. It's possible Viber/Skype doesn't use noise cancellation. You could always use a headset or BT speaker (set it further away from the phone). If that all fails, there's a Mic Sensitivity setting under Settings -> Sound -> Audio Settings.
Thanks for the reply,
I have tried rebooting and it didnt help. I have also tried using headphones and while it made it a bit quieter they still had the same problem.
I will have a go at messing with the sound settings, thanks.
I think i am just going to take it back and see if it is just my phone with the issue or all z3's
Is anyone able to test on the z3 and video call someone on viber and let me know if they have the same issue?
Thanks,
Matt

So I got my Moto G about 5 months ago and the microphone picked up everything fine, but as of recently if I try and take a video or use any other application that requires a microphone to pick up sound, I wont hear anything after I play it back even if I put the volume on max. Calling someone works fine because they can hear me still, but if im not using the phone, it doesnt work as in you hear no sound at all. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?
My advice is to ask the Moto Support on Twitter, yes I know that here you can, but give a try
I had an issue similar to this - the microphone didn't pick up anything, speaker did work. Don't know if it's related but the Facebook app had permission to use the microphone - i went into settings and disabled that permission and then tested the mic, it started working...

Hi,
I called someone today and realized the sound of the speaker (up there) didn't work so I used the loud one (down there) and it worked. I assumed my speaker was damaged but I used *#0*# to make sure, the sound is perfect... so I find myself with zero sound when I emit or receive a call and a 100% working speaker.
The main suspect is that last update I did like a week ago. The update is : G930FXXS2DRAB / G930FBOG1DQK1 / G930FXXU2DRAE
Does anybody know if that update is known to mess up the sound during calls? Is there anything I can do to avoid having to flash another firmware?
Thanks! :fingers-crossed:
Edit: the microphone is fine.
