I have an Moto maxx xt1225 and i want to make root on it but first i need to do a full backup, apps + data, accounts, (like a full ROM backup), since i have some pretty important things on it, how can i do this full backup? i don't mean having to use 2 or 3 tools to do it if it don't require too much complex knowledge.

Can I transfer my apps on my Droid Razr which also uses 4.0.4 to my Note using Titanium Backup
Next time ask a question in the question and answers thread and yes you can just move the TitaniumBackup folder from your Razr to the note.
Not system apps though. Dont transfer those.
I have a motorola atrix 4G (Olympus) and no official update for this terminal beyond android 2.3.6. I then thought maybe the firmware of a Motorola HD can be flashed in this terminal. But not if it worked or not please help. I found many roms as CM or PAC-ROM but no stable. and more stable version Cyanogenmod is what brings android 2.3.7 ... so I thought maybe if it works put a motorola HD firmware upgrade would have to CM11 ... .and sorry for my bad English.
Hi!
I will start with a huge NO!
Its never a good idea to flash another phone models firmware, it can break your device permanently.
That said, I'm no expert with either of those devices.....so I suggest you ask in your devices section, here....

Don't try anything like you've suggested without getting info from the guys that know your device best.
Good luck!!

Hi there I am currently using a Motorola droid pro (MB623) running on android gingerbread 2.3.6 which i have been wanting to upgrade to a custom rom, altho i have found only a little few available for my phone, the ones i have been trying to install via Rom manager app have been unsuccesful due to the fact that no matter how many times i try,i cannot create a custom recovery on my phone,so far i have tried clockwork recovery via rom manager (which my phone don't even seem to be listed on) and of course to no avail,so my question to you is,what custom recovery can i use on my phone?
Many thanks.
Hi,
I can't find info on recovery. But here's a root thread that worked for many with your device,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Motorola Droid Pro > Droid Pro Android Development > [ROOT] Easily
If you have more issues or questions, please post them here in your device section,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Motorola Droid Pro > Droid Pro General
And I would not use Rom Manager anymore for anything. It's known to cause problems. ?
Good luck !
Thanks but i have already got root access,it really is just the custom rom i'm wanting now,is there any other way i could possibly flash a rom onto my phone?
Thanks again.
You'll need to ask the experts in your device section with the second link I gave you. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.
I bought a Motorola XT1031 Moto G (System version 210.12.57.flacon_cdma.Boost.en.US sprint - Build KXB21.14-L1.57) with Kitkat 4.4.4 from TextNow and I want to root the phone but it comes with special software from them that I don't want to lose. That software basically integrates the TextNow VoIP service seamlessly with the native dial-pad and controls of the phone. It also lets the owner conveniently know how much cellular data is remaining out of the monthly allowance. It's basically a re-branded Boost Mobile CDMA phone (not GSM).
I'm not used to writing in forums so I apologize in advance for anything I did wrong.
Can I back up what's on it or do I need to do something special?
I'm planning to use an OTG drive but I think I have to root the phone to use it.
This is my first Andriod phone and I could use some help.
What's the safest approach to root the phone that allows me to undo any damage I cause in the process?
Hi there,
All you need for your device is here: [RC-FAQ] >> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto G [Updated : 2014/02/08]. Read part where is about root, see post 2, Q8 ...
For other questions use same forum for Q&A.
Good luck
Thank you, R_a_z_v_a_n.
This thread you posted has a lot of helpful information but I haven't found anything specifically related to the special TextNow software described in post #1 (or maybe I missed it?). I tried using the thread 'Search' feature with the keywords 'TextNow' and 'Text Now'. I'm hoping to find another TextNow user on this thread with the same situation I'm in and a successful story to learn from his or her experience, assuming I'm not the first person to root a phone with the specifications I mentioned above.
Rooting an Android looks like a risky procedure because I've seen many threads where people complain about stuff not working properly after their attempts. From the lessons learned from other posts it seems to me that I will have to compromise something to root the phone and I want to know what it is before I begin. Thanks again
I'm also curious to know if anyone out there is interested in the result I'm trying to achieve in this thread.

Hello everyone,
I'm here today to SEEK HELP. I have bought a variant of Wiko Slide 2 aka Cloudfone Excite Prime here in the Philippines. I wanted to make my personal back for this device that is flashable via SPFlashTool. Or make ".img" files for short. I already know how to that on my previous devices but that was KK having 3.4.6 kernel. This is my first LOLLIPOP device that is why I needed some advice and help.
My questions are:
1. How will I know if my bootloader is locked?
2. Is it necissary to unlocK the bootloader so that I could make full back up?
3. Can I directly back up this via MTKDroidTools(the most convenient back up method I ever tried for MTK)? Since it is using different kernel.
4. How do I make custom recovery or CWM for Lollipop(kernel 3.10.x) based?
That would be all for now. Please help me I really don't know stuffs for Android L since it is different from older versions. Thank you :good:
Hi,
I can't find anything on your device here on XDA, aside from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/help-root-wiko-slide-2-t3279083
I doubt that will help you, so I suggest you try asking all of your questions in one thread created here,
