Hi there I am currently using a Motorola droid pro (MB623) running on android gingerbread 2.3.6 which i have been wanting to upgrade to a custom rom, altho i have found only a little few available for my phone, the ones i have been trying to install via Rom manager app have been unsuccesful due to the fact that no matter how many times i try,i cannot create a custom recovery on my phone,so far i have tried clockwork recovery via rom manager (which my phone don't even seem to be listed on) and of course to no avail,so my question to you is,what custom recovery can i use on my phone?
Many thanks.
Hi,
I can't find info on recovery. But here's a root thread that worked for many with your device,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Motorola Droid Pro > Droid Pro Android Development > [ROOT] Easily
If you have more issues or questions, please post them here in your device section,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Motorola Droid Pro > Droid Pro General
And I would not use Rom Manager anymore for anything. It's known to cause problems. ?
Good luck !
Thanks but i have already got root access,it really is just the custom rom i'm wanting now,is there any other way i could possibly flash a rom onto my phone?
Thanks again.
You'll need to ask the experts in your device section with the second link I gave you. ?
Thank you. Thread closed.

So I just switched phone with my sister since she wanted an iPhone and I wanted to mess around with android until the iPhone 6 release. I love android and the endless possibilities but just never made the switch until now, and let me tell you, it has been a pain in my ass.
The device is the One X from HTC, and it has HTC sense on it and an old android version. So what i wanted to do is get rid of all the **** that is on it and put a clean andriod 4.4 on without all the preinstalled crap and without htc sense.
Now i followed the guide at onexroot dot com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/ but can manage to get past step 'pick a number'.
To start off, when I plug in my device it doesn't give me the option to just charge or whatever, no options at all it just connects.
Secondly I cant manage to unlock bootloader, I keep getting the following error 'the program can't start because adbwinapi.dll is missing from your computer'
Is there anyone out there with experience on this matter or who had the same problem and found a guide that helped? I would really appreciate any assistance. To be honest, I have been trying for days now and I am surprised I didn't brick my phone yet.
Thanks in advance!
The first one I tried once before and it did not work, just tried it again and didn't work either, I also do not get prompted whether I just want to charge or connect as USB.
The second one I also tried but the download link is broken. So no continuing there either.

hey guys
so i have this old wt19i which is rooted but i never bothered to install a custom rom,i stopped using it after a while and bought a simple nokia phone as my main phone.the reason was battery life.
now i want to start using it again but i dont know what custom rom i should install.i wont even insert a sim and plan on using it solely as a gba emulator.
since its an old phone i cant find which custom rom is best for maximum battery life.
i got SU access and stock rom.can i just pick a rom and install it?
i would not ask this question but since its an old phone i cannot find what rom is best.all threads are from 2012
what rom would you suggest for this wt19i?

Hello my name is Rayn, I am having trouble locating any and all threads related to ROMS that are available, have been tested, and/or are used on the ZTE Score X500 (from Cricket).
My old phone (the ZTE score mentioned above) is running stock Gingerbread and is currently on a factory reset with no root. I already know the steps needed to root and CMW my device as well as backup so information to this is not required.
Will someone please help me find any threads relating specifically to ROMS available, have been tested and verified, and/or are used on ZTE score X500?

Hi Rayn,
unfortunately there is not much about your exact device on xda.
Maybe this thread can help a little bit: ZTE Score/x500 Rom Dump? by nobreak1970.
Or this: [Q] How do you Root Cricket Phone's?(ZTE Score x-500) by donthateme702.
Best to ask in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Short answer, no.
Long answer, there has to be a lot of similarities between two devices in order for them to be capable of sharing the same firmware (or ROM). Bare minimum, they must have the same chipset and partition layout, or you will end up hard-bricked (something noone ever wants). The rest of the hardware has to be the same (or similar) too, or you will get a bootloop after installing, or less often, a feature that won't work.
The only time I have seen a ROM closely matching two devices is when two models are made by the same manufacturer, and even then, there are subtle glitches in the function of that ROM for the other device (such as auto-rotate not working).
At any rate, you can create an account, and post a thread in > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting asking if there are any ROMs, or plans for ROMs for this device.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Hello everyone,
I'm here today to SEEK HELP. I have bought a variant of Wiko Slide 2 aka Cloudfone Excite Prime here in the Philippines. I wanted to make my personal back for this device that is flashable via SPFlashTool. Or make ".img" files for short. I already know how to that on my previous devices but that was KK having 3.4.6 kernel. This is my first LOLLIPOP device that is why I needed some advice and help.
My questions are:
1. How will I know if my bootloader is locked?
2. Is it necissary to unlocK the bootloader so that I could make full back up?
3. Can I directly back up this via MTKDroidTools(the most convenient back up method I ever tried for MTK)? Since it is using different kernel.
4. How do I make custom recovery or CWM for Lollipop(kernel 3.10.x) based?
That would be all for now. Please help me I really don't know stuffs for Android L since it is different from older versions. Thank you :good:
Hi,
I can't find anything on your device here on XDA, aside from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/help-root-wiko-slide-2-t3279083
I doubt that will help you, so I suggest you try asking all of your questions in one thread created here,

Good luck!
