No, it is not possible, every unlock will wipe the device.

How to restore TA partition without relocking bootloader ?

So I tested lohzocum's kernel and it works, however when I tried restoring the TA partition, it wouldn't boot anymore. And I re-flash the stock KK firmware, it said Bootloader unlocked allow: Yes. So obviously my bootloader was locked again. Any way to avoid bootloader relocked ?

Why would you restore TA with unlocked bootloader ? it doesn't have any meaning .
It'd be nice to be able to restore the DRM keys but not relock the bootloader.
Especially after reading stuff like this: http://www.gsmarena.com/unlocking_the_sony_xperia_z3__bootloader_degrades_its_camera-news-9831.php
I wonder if it affects the M2 as well.
In any case, it's not as useless as you think.
I think it affects our camera, or is it just me ?
Sent from my D2305
It doesn't. I took a picture before unlocking the bootloader and then another one right after unlocking - no difference in quality at least in manual mode.

It all depends on you. However just keep it unlocked. There is no need to lock it unless you're selling your device or sending your device for repairs. Relocking it then again unlocking it would be a pain in the *** as your data will be wiped frequently and will just create more headaches for you.
Thanks

Can I root without unlocking my boot loader?

Is there a way to just root your phone without unlocking your boot loader? I just want to simply root and install some apps that require root but that is it.
Thanks...

I'm pretty sure that you need to unlock your bootloader first.
Not sure if you can unlock - root - relock ??
I think this is not possible yet without unlocking the bootloader.

Once you unlock and relock your bootloader, its status will be relocked, so your warranty is void anyways.
So I have to unlock the boot loader first. Dam I assume that is on the difficult side of things as well...

If you want the status to show "locked" and not relocked to get your warranty back, you can use the downgrade package from nougat to marshmallow and flash stock B131.
I managed to relock my bootloader using this method : my fastboot screen says "locked" (and not "relocked")

Wait for kingroot method. No need to unlocking bootloader to root, people do it because its only one way to have root on honor 8 now - by flashing supersu in twrp, and twrp/modified recovery you can flash only if you unlocked your bootloader first.

Re-lock Bootloader Help

Hi,
I haven't done anything in the way of rooting or custom recovery or anything. I did unlock the bootloader first thing due to the wipe that occurs as part of the process.
How do I relock the bootloader? I did some research and all that I've found so far is people cautioning for past OP devices about the standard relock procedure so I just wanted to ask the question to make sure I don't break anything.
I am on Stock everything so can I just fastboot oem lock?

Yep, that should be it as long as you didn't root.

You do know that any time you unlock or relock your bootloader it will wipe your phone?

Yup that's why the first thing I did was unlock it. Now I am relocking it since I don't intend to keep it.
Thanks!

Maybe I'm confused but why did you unlock it in the first place if you were just going to relock it?
Edit: I think I follow now, you unlock the bootloader when you first got the phone and now you're not keeping the phone so you're relocking the bootloader?

I got the phone, unlocked it so I wouldn't have to wipe later, used it for a week, decided it's not for me, and am relocking it.

Few questions about relocking bootloader

I am considering relocking the bootloader for my HTC U12+. I unlocked it a long time ago (out of habit I guess). So my phone is completely running stock without any modifications. I want to relock the phone to get widewine back to L1, so I'll get Netflix updates and such.
A few questions about relocking that I couldn't find an answer to.
1. When I relock the bootloader will it do a factory reset to the phone? I'm asking because unlocking did.
2. If later on I decide to unlock the relocked bootloader again, do I have to get another unlock-code from HTC? Or is unlocking a relocked bootloader a simpler procedure?
So I decided to do the relocking. During the relocking procedure I was being told on the screen that the phone will be wiped if I continue. It remains to be seen how I'll unlock it later on if I want to.

2. You have to to go through the HTCDev website procedure (not sure if you can reuse the previous Unlock_code.bin file).
is it possible to get "locked bootloader" instead of "relocked bootloader" and get rid of system status modified?
