Hello, W1F1. There is no way at this point in time to root Project Spectrum on Oppo R7Plus as TWRP isnt compatible. They changed a lot when they made Project Spectrum. For now there is no TWRP. So there is no way to root. It's Fastboot is also set to non-root access making is hard to use the command (fastboot flash recovery _TWRP-HERE_) but not impossible to flash the stock recovery and then ColorOS to get back to safety (by safety I mean CyanogenMod 14.1 [OFFICIAL] or AICP [UNOFFICIAL]). All you need to do is ask and I'll give you the links.

Thanks for the reply! So I could use stock recovery to get back to a version of color os that has fastboot enabled, and then get TWRP and then cyanogen mod from there?

Recovery:http://goo.gl/1AdXkD
ROM:https://s3.amazonaws.com/public.opp...olorOS/Specified_ColorOS_R7plusf_full_014.zip
0. Move all files to external MicroSD card *rename the ROM to update.zip*
1. Flash the recovery.img to recovery partition. With (fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img) *remember to put the recovery.img file in the ADB and Fastboot file for easier transfer*
2. Reboot into the system recovery and select Update, then go to where you put your ROM and select it
3. Wait for it to flash and then reboot
4. Your reboot will hang. Leave it do that for about 5 minutes, then reboot into fastboot mode again.
5. Seeing as you are now on a ROM with an unlocked bootloader you will be able to now flash TWRP recovery with the command (fastboot flash recovery "TWRPRECOVERYNAME") *I used TWRPRECOVERYNAME as an example as to where the recovery file needs to go. You should also have this in the ADB and Fastboot folder*

I'm sorry but I can't seem to download from app.box, even after creating an account. Could you please upload the recovery to somewhere else like google drive?
EDIT: Whoops disregard that I managed to download it.

Ok I'm still having an issue. The flashing of the recovery goes through successfully but when I try to enter recovery mode it simply shows the Oppo logo and the screen goes black. Like it's been doing with all the recovery's that I've tried. If I try the "fastboot boot recovery.img" it has this error:

downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.485s]
booting...

After flashing recovery, type (fastboot reboot) Before you press enter, hold down the Volume - button (on the phone) and simultaneously press enter. You should then be able to boot to stock recovery
JUST REMEMBER TO NOT BOOT BACK INTO SPECTRUMOS. This will reset the recovery partition as it locks it on boot

Sadly no all it does is show the Oppo logo, and then when it should show the recovery screen it just goes black. I think it's something to do with the DTB error before.

You could very well try that and it work. I have limited knowledge when it comes to development of ROMs and Recoveries so I'm not too sure how you will fair, it may take a bit of trial and error. Tell me how you go with it

Update:
Bad news: Unfortunately my phone is now stuck in a boot loop.
Good news: Using a recovery provider by the user "Ricky" on the first page of this thread: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=46395&extra=&page=1 I have been able to flash the stock recovery and it is now working. Because of the boot loop problem I am reinstalling Spectrum through recovery to try and get out of that, then hopefully I will be able to flash back to Color OS if the boot loop stops.

Is it just the boot animation continuously playing? If so, this is when you need to turn off your phone and right as the screen goes off press and hold the volume + button. This will put you back in fastboot. Once you are there flash the TWRP recovery. After that hold the volume - and type fastboot reboot. This will boot you to TWRP recovery

Hmm. so you probably need to flash a recovery first.
then you will be able to use the recovery to mount usb and put a new rom on your "sd card"
Then you can flash the rom on your new recovery and don't forget to fastboot flash the boot.img.
edit: the all in one toolkit is great for things like this. It will put a new recovery on your phone with just a click of the button.

I just edited my original post. just in case you didn't know how. I guess I was a little slow.
Also I can't remember if a bootloader factory reset relocked your phone but you might want to check that too. up on top it would say locked or relocked. If it still says unlocked you don't have to do that step again. Like you did when you first rooted the phone.
(all in one tool kit is great for unlocking and relocking too) just put a copy of that bin file in all in one tool kit (data file i believe, but it says what to do in that thread)

Your phone is an s3?
My phone is an S4 as are I would guess the majority of users. I think the s3 is the international version. If you are on T mobile then it's a s4.
Ok,,,
so .... if your phone is an s3 version then you will have to check that the Rom you download is specific for your phone as most of the Roms on this site are for the s4 version.
you need to go to your recovery. press the volume down button and hold it. Then press the power button (don't hold it). That will get you to recovery.
when in twrp recovery you will see a mounts button. hit that then the next screen will have mount usb. then you will be able to move a rom you downloaded on your computer to your phone.
then you can install the rom zip in twrp.
then from your computer, I assume you know how to flash a boot.img
put a boot.img in your fastboot folder, open up a comand prompt.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
if you wanted a different recovery than you are using, find the download the recovery. *I would rename the recovery to recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(I only mention a different recovery because in some of the Rom threads you might read that you can only install a particular rom with an older version of twrp.)
I'm not sure of your skill or experience with all of this. If you are very new to it (then you are probably really frustrated) have no fear there is a little bit to learn but not that much. Just keep reading the development thread and the guides in it.

So were you able to put twrp on your phone? when you are in boot loader and click on the recovery does it take you to twrp? Yes the all in one toolkit will flash a recovery for you. but you have your boot loader unlocked first.

in twrp when you press "mounts" then press "mount usb", does your computer finally see your phone?
I was looking at your first post, you say that you rooted and flashed your phone. What do you mean by that? Did you download a ROM and attempt to flash it? Or did you "fastboot flash boot boot.img"?
If you are able to access your phone via computer it is as simple as downloading a rom on your computer moving it to your phone then in twrp "install from zip". Then fastboot flash the boot.img.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427
how to flash fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752270
if you are just fed up and want your phone back to stock then you will need to run an RUU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094414
To run a RUU you would need to relock your bootloader.
in console type "fastboot lock oem" or use your all in one toolkit to relock it.
if that fails you will need to put your stock recovery back. (you need to have boot loader unlocked to do this)
on the clockworkmod recovery page the stock recovery is the second download link.

[Q] Nexus 5 stuck on boot, and wont go into recovery help?

Well, I was using an app called screen dimmer, and did pressed the button to dim the screen when all of a sudden it froze. It was like this for a while so I restarted it, it is able to go in fastboot, but nothing else. When i start It it hangs on the boot loader screen and can stay like that all day. if I go into recovery the screen goes black and the display is only backlit. I was going to try to to use the adb to factory reset it, but I could not get it to recognize the nexus 5 as a device. I used a bunch of different drivers. I did root my phone, and have the exposed framework but this was done a long time ago and I had no problems since. no idea how to fix this any help?!?!? Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this I'm new to this site.

You need to find a driver that works so it'll recognize the device. Once you do this, you need to flash boot.img to restore the recovery since not working. Then, redo the ROM or restore from backup if you can. Flashing a new recovery boot.img should fix the issue.

Hi, In first place, You are in the right place to get help:good:
2. ADB won't work on fastboot nor in a damaged recovery.
3. fastboot works:victory: Try to flash recovery once again (fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img)
4. if 3 works, wipe system, caches. Flash the Rom you want, don't use that app anymore.

There is a chance to keep your data + storage contents. If you manage to flash and boot into recovery, in 'wipe' menu manually check-mark "cache, system"
don't mark internal "storate and data", nothing will happen to your media and apps data.

May be able to dirty flash but most likely, since you had the screen dimmed too much, you'll have to wipe data in order to override/remove the problem. You can try this way but may just send you back through this whole process if problem reoccurs. I'd just wipe the data to be safe.

No, and if you had done your homework you would know that. If the data is so important, back it up before modding.

The general idea is that your recovery is broken.
So, you need to flash a new recovery by placing a recovery.img file into your fastboot folder in the computer(recommend twrp). Like you did the first time you fladhed a recovery.
Then, turn off the phone, press volume down+ power button and it will boot into bootloader. Make sure it is on fastboot mode. After that, on the computer open cmd on the fastboot folder and and type:
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecoveryfile.img,
press enter.
It should flash a new recovery image if done correctly. Then, poweroff the phone, boot again into bootloader, choose recovery and it will reboot into recovery. Then follow. The steps of my first post.

You have a couple of options depending on how much data you can afford to lose on your phone. The least intrusive is to adb push a Rom on to your phone when you're in twrp Then flash that rom in twrp
The easier, but you'll lose all data on your phone is to flash the flash-all.bat file in fastboot

Then, it seems recovery now is good. If you have rom zip in the storage. Just wipe system and cache, flash the rom and see what happens
When in the twrp I can't get fastboot to recognize it as a device, or adb either

Your adb drivers aren't setup correctly. They're different than the fastboot ones. Try Google tool adb fastboot drivers xda.

[Q] Getting back recovery and root after OTA to CM12s

Hello,
I have recived the OTA today and I flashed it and now I dont have a custom recovery and root. What steps do I need to take to get those things back? I have tried to use this guide https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...oader-install-custom-recovery-and-root.64487/ but after flashing recovery.img through ADB I still have normal CM recovery.
Go to Developer Options in Settings and disable the "update CM recovery" option.
Transmitted via Bacon
It has been disabled the whole time
Ok. So you say you're flashing the recovery through adb but that's impossible so I'm assuming you're flashing with fastboot, right?
Transmitted via Bacon
I'm not really good in those names.. I have isnerted a screenshot from this program.

Looks ok. Where are you getting the recovery from? Did you rename it to "recovery.img" for a reason?
Transmitted via Bacon
I've got that file from TWRP website and I renamed it to recovery.img. I have succesfully booted into this recovery with a command "fastboot boot recovery.img" which allowed me to flash root and xposed form it but after rebooting the phone the old recovery remains...
I have the same problem. Flash TWRP says it's flashed OK, but when I reboot to recovery it's still stock.

Same situation here...this solution isn't working for me, same problem, always Cyanogen based recovery...
After flashing new recovery, when you go to reboot, hold down Vol-Down and Power before it boots into the OS and it should load the new recovery. Had this problem myself earlier today, if you let it boot to the OS, it flashes back the CM recovery.

It works! I think it because of the dev settings into CM12S which force the recovery to be CM12S' one.
Thanks

I'm having the same problem, can someone go over start to finish how they fixed this issue?
What worked for me
I previously had TWRP installed, wiped and did the C12S flash but didn't flash SuperSu before rebooting. This removed TWRP and brought me to Cynogen Recovery whenever going into recovery mode (Vol Dwn + Power). This also removed the root from my phone. To fix this took some digging and I came up with the following solutions as long as you had TWRP installed at one point. If not then unlock your boot loader and re install. I named my TWRP File Recovery just to keep things simple, but whatever your TWRP Filename is put that in at #5.
1) Enter Fastboot Mode (Vol Up + Power)
2) On your computer open command prompt (Ctrl R)
3) Plug your phone in
4) Type the following minus the quotes
"cd desktop/android-sdk-windows/platform-tools"
5) fastboot boot recovery.img
This will boot your TWRP, you can then go to flash your SuperSu file and you're done!
im having this issue too : /

Try another way here, for entering twrp.
After you flashed the recovery successfully. Do not type the command of "fastboot reboot".
On your phone, press and hold the POWER and UP VOLUME buttons together until you enter the TWRP recovery. (It will power off and boot up recovery)
Note: Do not let it boot to normal system startup. This this case, you need to reflash the recovery via fastboot and follow the steps above again.
After you have root the phone successfully, you can enter the TWRP recovery without flashing via fastboot already.
Hope above help you.

If the touches screen doesn't work, It might be the TWRP recovery issue. You can try flash other version to solve the problem.
Anyway, great to know everything works for you now.
I've this issue.
TWRP is installed but:
- if I boot via [power]+[vol+] I enter in old stock recovery
- if I boot via fastboot using command "fastboot boot recovery.img", TWRP is loaded correctly

Yes very first time after I flashed and entered the TWRP recovery successfully, I need to wait for few minutes and the touchscreen only start working.
Then I have flashed a few other versions of TWRP, I have forgotten which one I have flashed already, my TWRP recovery works immediately without any touchscreen issue.

Motorola Photon Q - Crashing all apps, can't erase or flash anything

Good day, its my first thread here, so I'm sorry for my english and terminology.
My Photon Q had CM-13-Nightly installed, bootloader unlocked and Clockwork recovery installed. Everything was working fine, till few days ago. Phone was left unused with drained battery, so I charged it and powerd on. After that, all app started to crash one after another. I was trying to do factory reset from recovery, erase everything from bootloader menu or using bootloader commands (bootloader erase data, bootloader -w) but nothing worked. I still have my system, with same apps, wallpaper etc and apps still crash. Are these all symptoms of damaged partition or internal storage? Will be thankful for any help
Erasing in bootloader/fastboot mode can be dangerous... be careful.
I would just factory reset and reinstall the ROM. Don't use ClockworkMod for recovery tho, use TWRP. CWM hasn't had updates in a long time (and frankly I'm surprised it was able to flash the latest CM).
I have tried to change recovery, but it was also impossible. I also tried to wipe data / factory reset, after that flashed new Rom but nothing changed. Still all my apps and settings remains. There is one more thing to add, that I can copy file from device when connected to my laptop, but cannot delete anything. Anyway, how to change recovery? Phone doesn't keep any changes for example adb debugging in developer options. CWM update is turned off, but cannot change recovery

I think you can safely ignore the bootloader message.
As for flashing TWRP, did you boot TWRP immediately after flashing, or did you boot Android?
I believe you need to make sure you boot TWRP immediately after flashing, otherwise CM Recovery will blow it out.
After flashing TWRP hold power until the device shuts off, release, and now hold power + vol down to enter recovery. Please use the latest version of TWRP from kabaldan, or the latest official TWRP.
I did exactly as You have posted. Still Cyanogen :/ I got recovery from here: https://dl.twrp.me/asanti/twrp-3.0.2-0-asanti_c.img.html , its the newest I think

Sorry it's power + vol UP (according to my own guide...)
3. Hit power - device turns off. Hold vol up + power, then release power when the screen comes on - continue holding vol up. When you see the moto logo dim a bit, release vol up. You should now be in TWRP!
Did that - Cyanogen again :/ Have any idea why is that happening? Internal memory broke down?

I'm not sure why people have issues with this... I always thought it was how they 'completed' the flashing process. I don't recall being able to reproduce the condition.
Perhaps boot Android then boot TWRP? Or try to reboot directly to recovery from the fastboot cli? Try something different... or just fastboot boot the TWRP image? There is a problem in the process, I'm just not sure 'where' since I don't have the phone in front of me.
Already done that, before I started this thread... Nothing works. I have tried multiple combination, such as reboot to this (I don't know how to name it, B&W menu with APfastboot, recovery etc), boot system first than recovery, boot directly to recovery after flashing new one etc. Are there any fastboot commands, that I could use to forcefully erase recovery or data? You sure that it's not physical damage of internal memory?

IIRC this device will let you 'fastboot boot' images directly - I think I suggested this - have you tried it?
I'll dig around and see what else I can find from the TWRP thread. I was pretty sure it had to do with the process, but I could be mistaken.
Edit - I'll flash CM Recovery on my old Q and see if I can recreate this as well. It's always bothered me...

I guess they only allow fastboot booting kernels... at least I used to do that on this device.

I'm... kind of at a loss. Make sure you have the latest TWRP. I just downloaded the latest CM Recovery, fastboot flash recovery <cmrecimg> and it rebooted to Android on its own. I reboot to recovery, CM Recovery is installed. All good.
I reboot to bootloader mode, grab the latest official TWRP, fastboot flash recovery <twrpimg>, this time when I unplugged it was still in fastboot mode. So I hit the power button, phone turns off. Then I hold power + vol up until I see the screen turn on. Continue to hold vol up, but release power. Then when the screen dims (or when recovery starts if you can't tell) release vol up.
Maybe that'll help you? Good luck.
Did exactly the same procedure as You described. Still Cyanogen. I can even record it and send here...
Could You please send me a link where I can find another TWRP ( You mentioned some developer few posts above, I guess), differend that I have found?
