I have the model wx na wf, nvidia tablet shield k1 with custom rom cm 12.1 version 2015 11 25.....
The issue im having is that casting audio\screen to chromecast via netflix and youtube the sound is sent. But when i do it via google home app, or directly from the button inside quick settings Cast only the video is sent. Audio remains reproducing in my tablet.
Also noticed If i open vlc with quick settings cast screen the video turns grey. If i cast through google home app, it works ok. But only video, no sound.
Is there a build where this works ok? (Custom rom) i tried cm13 but it was slower and had many features i wont use. Specially the buttons in quick settings were not editable.
This rom 12.1 is perfect if audio could be sent. If there any work around? Please XDA help me!
No. Not yet. No custom ROMs have HDMI audio.
What do you mean? i was not talking about connecting HDMI cable, i was asking for Cast Screen/Audio. When i had cm13 it worked, but i didn't like the quick settings layout that i couldn't edit as in 12.1 and also Root didn't work for Clean Master App Start Manager, so many many apps were autostarting and consuming ram and battery.

Hey
Just posting here in case anyone else is having this problem and has found a solution.
The problem is that once I set a youtube video into full screen, I cant get the video player controls to appear again when tapping the screen, meaning I can't seek or pause the video unless I press back to get to the small player. This only happens on my note 12.2 and not on my other devices running the same youtube version (nexus 5 and 7).
I have rooted and flashed the near stock rom from Gatsrom and am using CivZ kernel rev3.0
Uninstalling updates to the youtube app does fix the problem though, so it looks like it might be a problem specific to the note with the latest youtube, so I was wondering if anyone else has hit on this same glitch?
This happens on CivZ rom too, with CivZ kernel or stock kernel. Probably a YouTube glitch.
I am stock non rooted and it's happening to me too..Has to be a YT issue.

The Youtube app isn't adapted to work with screensizes above 11" yet. That's why.
Essentially what happens is the app is stretched and the HUD bugs out because of it.
Must be a regression in the newest version of the app then, since it used to work fine. I've sent feedback to Google regarding this via the youtube app.
Thanks for chiming in everyone!

Same problem here.
It's really irritating! When i enter the Youtube app from a link (in chrome) and then hit the full screen button, and then i want to pause the video, i need to hit the back button but that's immediately takes me back to last app (chrome).
i found out that if I want it to stay in Youtube app, i need to: press the link (in chrome or gmail app), lower the minimized video to the right bottom side of the screen, then enlarge the screen again, after all that i can hit the full screen button and if i want to pause i can hit the back button and it will not exit the app.
Oddly enough the interface can be forced to show up in full-screen mode using the play/pause media controls command. For example if one clicks the button on a pair of headphones with a play/pause button while in full-screen mode then the video will pause and controls show up on screen. As soon as the controls fade away due to the standard interface delay they cannot be brought back by screen touch gestures but the headphones button will bring them back.
Since I'm rooted and use tons of customizations, I've set up a custom gesture in GMD gesture control to invoke the media play/pause command as a work around to this issue in YouTube until it's fixed. I now simply tap and hold 5 fingers on the screen while YouTube is playing full-screen and the video pauses and Youtube displays the player interface.

I have the same problem both on Note Pro and Tab Pro. Very irritating.

I confirm that the problem is solved with version 6. You can get it from here as I did if you don't want to wait to roll out to your country's play store.

So I have been trying out several different custom roms, and the one that works best for me is AICP. The only problem I am having is with gamestream.
This issue is solely MOUSE related. When I stream a game that requires a mouse and keyboard, the mouse is not synced to the game. There is two mice chasing each other on screen at all times.
One mouse is the black default shield tablet mouse icon and the other one is from whatever pc game I am streaming for example mass effect2. What happens is the mice fight each other
for control of the screen. Instead of scrolling the screen and rotating the camera 360 degrees, the mice will instead run into the walls of the screen and the camera cant rotate anymore. Example
in mass effect 2 is the player character cant move freely or turn all the way around making the game unplayable.
Now, when I try the original nvidia tablet rom, everything is fine, there is only one onscreen mouse which is from the mass effect2 game not the black shield one, and everything is all fullscreen and synced up.
I tried installing the shield hub from the playstore into the custom rom AICP and it work just as well as Moonlight does, except they both have the double mice problem.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Or why the original shield tablet rom does not have this problem? I have tried updating to the latest AICP build as well.
It could be in a SETTINGS menu somewhere too but I cant find it.
Thanks guys, I love AICP, and want to fix this issue because so far its the only issue.
Note: I have installed 4 completely different custom roms, blisspop, slim, cm12, aicp. They all have the same issue, so this must me nvidia software related.
The reason is that Nvidia has some custom mouse support in their stock ROM. Normally Android devices can't indicate relative movement of the mouse but Nvidia has added this capability in the Shield firmware. They also added the ability to hide the mouse cursor. Shield Hub uses these to avoid the double mouse issue on the stock ROM. I guess AICP doesn't implement them.
The root version of Moonlight reads mouse input directly from the event stream exposed by the kernel. It shouldn't have the issue with AICP.

Wow, you are exactly right, the rooted version of Moonlight solved the issue, Thanks!!
Hey guys
so i found this weird problem with Chromecast (2015 model) - If i go to display settings > Cast Screen and start screen mirroring - Phone screen appears on TV but then freezes. In 5-10 seconds phone disconnects from TV
Same with Chromecast app. Casting apps such as YouTube, Netflix, etc work fine.
Any ideas? Thanks
I haven't used the app. But over the weekend I was trying to stream several TV programs. On was on my Blu Pure XL using Chrome - went to YouTube - found the programs I wanted (Bravo's Watch What's Happening Live) - and there was a "Cast Screen" symbol - hit and voila! WWHL was on my TV. All in all I cast about 10 different programs without a problem.
@jaybirdhawaii I was actually having problems with Screen Mirroring - not casting apps. See the youtube video in OP

i've had better luck when both the pure XL and chromecast are on 5GHz instead of 2.4
I was wondering if anyone was running the Xfinity TV stream app on their Android Auto device. I have a KLD MTCD PX5 device that seems to install fine and shows all menus, features, etc as would appear on any other device.
However, when I click something to watch it just shows a still image. Either a stock preview image or sometimes it will show a still image from X minutes into the video. But it won't stream any video. The screen shows the name of the show and the search magnifying icon in a top bar and then the still image below. No other hidden menu items to start play or anything like that.
No errors or anything, just wont stream and all I can do is go back to the main menu. Then, If I choose something else, it's the same thing. It will show a still preview image of that show.
I've seen some stuff about the app blocking rooted or hdmi based devices (my device is rooted). However, I have Xposed installed and have tried the addons that were said to help with this, but it's still doing the same.
I also tried the modified FireTV apk just to see if that might work. It installed and showed menus fine, but again just still preview images.
I couldn't find any posts of anyone experiencing a similar situation (i.e. no errors, but no streaming, just the still preview images) so I thought I'd post to see what might be going on.
Any luck on this issue?

I have both a Pixel 3 and an Essential, as well as a Roku Ultra. Both phones are stock on their latest version of 10. On the Essential I can pull down the quick settings and turn on Cast Screen and the Roku is found and I can mirror my screen. Attempting the same with the P3 results in no device found. However Google Home finds the Roku, and if I tap the cast icon in media apps like YouTube or Netflix the Roku is found. Just not when I try to screen cast/mirror with the P3. I've tried restarting the Roku, the P3 and the WiFi router to no avail. What could be wrong? (I just got the P3 a month ago used, and today was the first time I tried screen casting with it.) Thank you in advance.
I can cast any screen after opening the home app, choosing the device (in my case Chromecast) and tapping "cast screen". Now whatever screen I go to it is mirrored to Chromecast. You can't do it from the pull down shortcut menu. You have to do it from within Google Home.
Note, this is different from casting via the Chromecast icon in media that supports it.
