I recently flashed my oneplus one and it seems to be working fine at the moment then suddenly my phone force closed and went into bootloop. it wouldn't go beyond the oneplus logo, it will reboot again after 3/4 seconds. i tried factory resetting and full data wipe but it doesn't seem to be working. the weird thing is it will only stop bootlooping if i connect it to a charger. if i unplug the charger the phone will force close and bootloop again. Please help!!
If you're able to boot into bootloader you should be able to flash the stock fastboot image from the and most likely fix that. I had this issue multiple times.
Try it out..
This is just a ROM issue. You might restore your phone to original ROM or try out reflashing your custom ROM again. Do wipe all cache just after flashing the ROM.
DO BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA ONCE BOOTED INTO RECOVERY.

I usually download this roms from the Signed fastboot zips list.

Buddy.. You need to restore you phone via FASTBOOT not via Bootloader. For this, simply search on google for:
Return your OPO to 100% Stock ROM XDA
And the first link by our friend EddyOS in xda will be there. I am 99.99% sure that it will work out.
Flash flashable signed stock.zip if you are able to go to recovery...(Clear Cache,Dalvik Cache,Data and Factory Reset

Hey guys,
I've been using this website as reference for years but never had an issue I hadn't already seen asked.
I've been looking for weeks for a solution to this and haven't found anything.
I tried to flash cm10.1 over my stock 4.1.2 and corrupted the system.
It was booting directly to AP Fastboot and showing an error about not calling the ROM properly.
I tried reflashing using RSD Light 5.7 but every time it tried to flash the system it said the phone returned failed.
So I upgraded RSD to v6.1 and tried again. This time the phone says it flashed properly but it freezes during the droid boot logo.
I've tried using the utility and it gives me the same results.
I can get into factory recovery and I've performed several hard resets. But the phone still freezes whenever it tries to load the system.
I'm using a Motorola Factory Cable on a high speed USB port.
Any ideas why I'm stuck in a soft brick that I can't flash out of?

Format system via any of the custom recoveries before flashing your new ROM - this will wipe out any leftover problems completely & should let you start 100% fresh with a new ROM.

I lost my root when I originally got stuck in fastboot. And I can't boot up the phone until I can get it fixed.

Can you get back into fastboot now? If so
Use fastboot to flash a custom recovery (CWM, TWRP or OUDHS)
use the recovery to factory reset, wipe cache/dalvic, AND format system (sometimes in the advanced menu)
then flash rom of your choice.
If you can't get fastboot working you'll need smarter help than I can give you... but the format system step clears out all kinds of gremlins.
I can get into fast boot but I don't have an unlocked boot loader to flash anything custom.

If you can get into fastboot then you should be able to unlock b/l with this toolkit I used it and it worked for me you can also flash rom with it its in the orginial development thread

Had the same problem after a fastboot via the utility. Try powering your phone down completely and leaving it off for about 5-10 min. This can be tricky with the hardware buttons so if you have access to TWRP that will help as it has a power off option. You might also try flashing again via the utility. I believe that's what I had to do, but the power down method is what a friend suggested based of his experience with the same exact problem you documented.
FIXED!!!
OK first I want to thank everybody who responded. I got tied up with work and kind of forgot about this project for a few days.
Repeated uses of the Utility and RSD both left me stuck with the phone freezing every time it tried to load the system into memory.
I had checked out the toolbox before but I didn't think I could do much from a locked bootloader.
After your suggestion jmcdonald I tried it again. It says my device isn't available to be unlocked so I tried downgrading back to ICS.
The toolbox says that it failed but it must have fixed something because the phone booted back up to android 4.1.2 stock!
So far I have bricked a lot of phones and learned a lot about ADB in the process of fixing them but I've never had one I was so certain was bricked permanently. But now it seems to be working fine, I'm scared to try rebooting in now.
Definatly going to unlock the bootloader pronto.
Thanks again jmcdonald!
Hey Guys. Im running cm12s on my oneplus one, and i would like to switch to oxygenOS because they are getting the touchscreen firmware fixes. Ive flashed recoveries onto multiple phones without this issue before.
I downloaded twrp, booted the phone into fastboot, unlocked it, got the success signal, flashed it, again, success, and then rebooted. Then i powered down and booted to recovery aaaand..... stock recovery. WTF? So i wipe all user data and clear the cache with the stock recovery and try again. Nope. Its still the stock recovery. i dont understand it. I tried with CWM aswell. It says success, so why did it not work? I booted into the OS and checked developer settings, and disabled update recovery and all that, Nevertheless, when i flash TWRP or CWM, it does not work. I dont understand how this could happen.
I followed the steps from the Official guide on the official oneplus forum, It wont let me post a link.
I am using an OEM samsung cable.
Can anyone help me?

Alright, I've just tried that. After flashing it, i Ran this command and as expected it rebooted back to the bootloader. Nothing else todo there, so i rebooted and booted to the recovery. It STILL boots to the stock recovery! So i tried again, but this time, i flashed it a second time after rebooting to the bootloader, but that still has not worked. is my unit defective? I will try now with another computer.

I figured it out!
I figured it out. Instead of rebooting after flashing the custom recovery and allowing cyanogen to re write it, i simply turned the phone off and booted directly to recovery and sure enough, TWRP. Problem solved. I dont understand why cyanogen would do that to me and not anyone else!

CM didn't just do that to you, it's happened to every single person who's tried to flash TWRP after taking the Lollipop update, that's why the question is included in the FAQ thread.

I'm probably screwed here but I really do hope someone here can help me out.
Fiddling around trying to get the D80020u update back on my G2 I ended up clearing everything out of the phone include the ROM that was installed. All that's left is TWRP.
The phone won't get detected in ADB and in device manager it's an unknown device named LG-D800.
Probably a dead phone but is there a way to fix this?
Bump? :crying::crying::crying::crying:
UPDATE: Well, I was finally able to adb on twrp and tried to reflash the recovery back to a stock img file that I found for my model (D-800). Now I'm stuck on the rebooting LG Logo, and Factory hard reset does nothing. It's probably time to give up now, huh?

Can you get into download mode? If so try using @SuperSport tool to flash back to factory KK. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369
I have rooted my Nexus 5 yesterday. All worked fine but there was a bug with the battery (it showed over 100% e.g. 1400%). So i tried another boot.img and here everything gone wrong.
The Nexus hang in the boot loop for 30 to 45 minutes. So I turned it off and started in recovery mode. Here I got into the twrp menu. But i cant manage to do a factory reset. At the moment i cant even boot to the recovery mode.
Are there any radical methods to make a factory reset?
Thanks!
Can you boot into the bootloader? If so you could flash the factory image.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've done some pretty stupid things while tiredly flashing my Nexus 5. I'm not saying you did something stupid, I'm just saying how stupid I've been. Still, I've never hard bricked the thing. There is always a way back. If you have download mode, there is always a way out. You can always get recoveries or ROMs here but the nice thing is the factory ROMs are readily available from Google.

This may also work http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
You can reset by flashing userdata.img file from the stock rom in fastboot mode.
What boot.img did you flash and what error is TWRP giving you when you try factory reset?
Need advise if I still revive this somehow?
can I interact with the phone only on bootloader screen and flash factory image?
I am open for other suggestion as well that will revive and improve the device
this device has mic issue and sometimes the speaker is not working.
but instead of salvage part I am hoping , it can revive just for youtube and email device
(I was using it as such until it stuck on google logo one day)
thank you
Sorry bub your motherboard is shot and your pixel is a paper weight just like mine. I thought I got lucky and my OG Pixel would be a lucky one that would escape the faulty pixel motherboard plague. She died a few weeks ago just like yours. Even bought a big stack of 10 Tech21 cases for it since they were cheap last year. Welp we didn't win the silicone lottery
This is a known issue with Pixels. What really sucks is I changed the battery on it a few months before the settlement. Didnt find out about the settlement till a month after it closed as well. Worked out in Google's favor with the window being only open for an extremely short period of time.
no hack tool to make it any use ?. I still can get too bootloader
but it is locked bootloader
If i had know I unlock bootloader at least I can try to re image or try different recovery
but if like you said the motherboard then it is paperweight
maybe i can sell the screen

you may like flashing in EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE before dissecting it
Mine is unlocked and can boot to bootloader no problem as well. Can flash it maybe 70% of the time no problem. Other times it just freezes when it starts to flash . Have fun with that screen if you do decide to part her out, not too fun to remove I hear.

I have fast boot format data ,fastboot format system fastboot format vendor and then flashed the stock firmware. Boom, still boot loops
for some odd reason the slots do not want to work well with the recoveries that I am working. Even stock recovery does the same thing
