Hi
just got my gear s3 frontier and will be using it in standalone mode more often than connecting via bluetooth, problem is in standalone mode there is a "watch" icon on the top part of the face where 12 o'clock is and its messing up the style i want. Is there a way to hide or disable this? Tried in the settings but there is none so maybe someone has made a mod for it.
Thanks!!!
Hi,
I've tried to disable the standalone icon too. But i couldn't.
If somebody solve it, please give us a solution.
Thank you

I made a thread about this too. It is pretty annoying, I don't see how they think having a white icon plastered over watch faces is a good idea, it is worse you can't disable.
Maybe if we can root it we can go in and at least delete the icon graphic so it doesn't show? I don't know if that would be possible.
Also for those that think there should be an option to shut off watch face icon(s) contact Samsung with a feature request. It probably won't get through but you never know.

The solution is to run in remote connected mode instead of standalone. This does not require carrying a phone with you, only that a phone (logged into your Samsung account) is connected to a Wi-Fi somewhere on the planet. The added benefit is that notifications from the phone (ie. email, Hangouts) can now be passed through to the S3.
The S3 is my primary phone, I no longer carry a smartphone, but I keep one (sans SIM) at home connected to Wi-Fi. It is used exclusively for setup and modifications, downloading apps, and remotely connecting to my watch.
Lastly, on my watch, the standalone icon only appears when the watchface is active. It's not displayed on the AOD watchface. Is your experience different?
tizen 3
after updating your gear to tizen 3 you can remove this icon in this position.
setting => watch faces and styles => status indicator => change it to off
after that the icon is removed.
Thanks man!

Yes! Go into Settings/Watchfaces and Styles/Status Indicator and change that to Off. That'll turn off the icon. Enjoy! Took my half a lifetime to figure that out!

Hey all,
I've got a Verizon SGS3 and I had a couple questions.
1. The notification power widget. It's got so much stuff and it takes up a lot of room on the notification shade. Is there a way to eliminate it or remove some of the useless ones? I never use bluetooth.
2. There's also a weird icon next to my 4G icon near the clock. Anyone know what it is? http://i.imgur.com/Cat4R.png And if I can get rid of it?
Also, bonus question: A way to remove all the useless ****ing share options for pictures/other files? I will never use S-Memo, Color, Group Cast, Messaging, Backup-assistant plus to share any of this ****. Go away.
Me too!
I have disabled everything I can think of and this icon will not go away!

I believe that's the "Wi-Fi Notification" icon that is persistent in Verizon SGS3 phones.
The only way currently known to disable it is to root the phone and modify a database value use a SQLite Editor.
Note 5 here, am wondering if there's a way to get rid of the Gear Plugin persistent notification that tells me I'm connected to the gear s2. It's always there (along with the wifi notification) and it's super annoying! If you go into the app manager and into the app the check box for the notification is dimmed out and unselectable.

I've got nothing for you but agree completely. Maybe somebody from Samsung (Or Tizen) reads these forums and will work on an upgrade.
I wish I could get rid of it too. That one reason I miss root. No need for that notification and the WiFi one too.
Sent from one of my many devices.
Couldn't agree more. Both of those notifications are stupid and annoying.

I cant figure out what the watch icon is on my faceplate, and its on all faceplates ;( Anyone know what it is or why its there and how I can get rid of it ? thanks
That icon indicates the watch is in standalone mode. Not connected to the phone via BT our remote connection. If you pull downward from the top of the watch, it will indicate this.
Thanks you VERY VERY Much ! I fixed it !! Have a good rest of your week !
So I tried this on my main social apps and they are appearing flawlessly. I hope they are useful.
Please follow the below steps to solve it:
1. Slide upward from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center, hold and press the WhatsApp icon and click Add to white list;
2. Enter i Manager>Power manager>Excessive background battery usage>turn on the switch of WhatsApp;
3. Access i Manager>App manager>Autostart manager>turn on the switch of WhatsApp.
This worked for me with my Samsung Gear Fit2 watch. You have to make sure all of the Samsung apps and plugins associated with the Gear Fit2 are enabled in iManager (iOS hints everywhere... Lol)
Ok uninstalling iManager app notification from all app works excellent now

for example ... when a team scores a goal sound notification late more than 5 minutes and so constantly
So I'm dealing with a slight problem. Honestly could just be something to get used to. I have the India Model (Global Rom), and I deal with a notification issue for my lock screen. I've already done adb and gotten rid of iManager, but I still seems to have an issue with notifications coming through.
This is mostly with Android Messages (I use this as my default). If I leave a notification of a message on my lockscreen for too long, it eventually disappears and indicates on my home screen I no longer have a notification (Using Nova). But when I enter the app of course the message is still there and says unread. Its a small problem, but it can become annoying.
Its as if I leave a notification in the status bar for too long, it eventually disappears and then indicates I no longer have a notification. Is this just a normal thing for an international device? ( I am in the states by the way).
Its a small gripe, because otherwise I still love the device and I'm glad I waited for the India model. Its my daily driver for now.
anyone have problem with whatsapp vibration unable to change into the default/short/long options... no matter which option i chose... the whatsapp vibration will just revert back to the default vibration.... my group msg vibrating like mad instead of the short vibration that I really like for grp chat....
Easiest way to deal with problems on the Vivo Nex= just sell the phone and go with Xiaomi or OnePlus.
Hello guys!
I've been on the first Galaxy watch for over 3 years and recently got the Watch4 classic. 1 main issue I notice is when there's an incoming notification (regardless you set it to open or not), as long as its seen on your watch, if you do not swipe it away, it stays there and your watch face turns into a simple one with blurred background. It stays there for about 20secs before it switches over to your proper watchface.
Why does it do this? The previous tizen didn't work this way. Is there a way to remove this or shorten this timeout?
I hope ya guys understand what I'm referring to. Thanks for reading
