Note 5 here, am wondering if there's a way to get rid of the Gear Plugin persistent notification that tells me I'm connected to the gear s2. It's always there (along with the wifi notification) and it's super annoying! If you go into the app manager and into the app the check box for the notification is dimmed out and unselectable.

I've got nothing for you but agree completely. Maybe somebody from Samsung (Or Tizen) reads these forums and will work on an upgrade.
I wish I could get rid of it too. That one reason I miss root. No need for that notification and the WiFi one too.

Couldn't agree more. Both of those notifications are stupid and annoying.

Hey all,
Just wondering if a 'two-way notification dismiss' option exists on the Gear 2? I also have a Pebble and there's a feature on the watch where if I check a notification on my phone (i.e. Note 3), the notification will dismiss itself on my Pebble as well and vice-versa.
It seems that on the Gear 2, if I check my notifications on my phone, it'll still show up on my Gear 2 until I 'delete' the notification from the notification list on the smartwatch.
Please let me know....thanks!
No way to dismiss a notification two way.

This is something they really need to work on.
Kind of annoying deleting the notifications on both devices.

I agree 100%. This was my first day with it and though I love the thing, I must say this is a little annoying. Also I have noticed that when reading one email as part of a notification, if a second email arrives, i cant read the second email, only the subject. This is through the k9 mail notification which I guess isnt fully supported. Teething problems with it I guess.
Can anyone help.? I have seen others have the Yellow Dot showing they have unread notifications. I have the S2 for T-Mobile. Just got it. I don't get that dot for unread notifications. Anyone else have this issue? What did you do to resolve it or could you not resolve it? I am running the most current software too so I am up-to-date. Thanks!
I'm assuming you have activated the yellow dot notification in your Gear Manager app settings?
Notifications > Notification Indicator
Do you have apps selected to send notifications to your watch?

The 3g version hasn't received the update yet.

I just got the bluetooth version and its updated to the latest software. I have the option checked in both the gear app and on the phone. Have tried factory resetting the watch and also clearing data on the gear app. I can't seem to get the yellow dot. Any suggestions?
Update: I figured out that if the "turn on screen" option is enabled in gear manager, then it automatically dismissed the yellow dot, the same way it does if you go over to the notification screen and back to the watch face (but without actually clearing the notification).
Anybody know if this is a bug, a recent change, or has it always been like that?
@Lancerz
I have the sim enabled version on T-Mobile and I have the dot. You need to activate it in settings.

So I guess you didn't see the date that I posted that? The 3G version from Tmobile has only had the update for maybe 2 weeks now.
I tried everything in this post and a few others on this forum and nothing works for galaxy note 4
Fixing yellow dot on your Samsung gear S2
This is such an easy fix!!! Go to your device (for example I have Galaxy s4) and go to your gear app and go to notifications and scroll down to turn on or off the yellow dot.
Hi
I am using S7 Edge and every time the s7 disconnect or connect to the Gear, i get a message in the notification area and it's quiet annoying.
Is there any way to disable this messages?
Thanks.

Hi,
There is no such an option under Nougat. Anyone know how to change this in S7 Nougat
It's in the settings of the watch, not the phone!

There is no direct option to disable gear connected/disconnected notifications on gear manager. Android normally lets user decide if he/she wanna see notifications of an app but seems for gear s plugin on samsung phones it is not, since my s6 edge is not giving me an option.

FWIW, I'd rather hear the notification sound that it disconnected the BT from my phone because I may have walked off 30+ feet without my phone in my pocket. It's useful to me.

Try app AutoNotification to block Gear S Plugin notifications. No root needed.
I am also having this problem. Every time I walk away from my phone it starts it's notifications. It annoys me and more importantly it annoys the hell out of my wife if I go outside and the phone starts making noises! I tried going to the advanced notification settings and I can NOT turn off the Gear S Plugin. I opened the app, turned off the App Icon badges and turned off the Allow sound. When I exit the app it still shows "allowed" as the status. I notice that the Gear VR Service does the same thing. I can't block it like I can almost all the other apps.
So I tried this on my main social apps and they are appearing flawlessly. I hope they are useful.
Please follow the below steps to solve it:
1. Slide upward from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center, hold and press the WhatsApp icon and click Add to white list;
2. Enter i Manager>Power manager>Excessive background battery usage>turn on the switch of WhatsApp;
3. Access i Manager>App manager>Autostart manager>turn on the switch of WhatsApp.
This worked for me with my Samsung Gear Fit2 watch. You have to make sure all of the Samsung apps and plugins associated with the Gear Fit2 are enabled in iManager (iOS hints everywhere... Lol)
Ok uninstalling iManager app notification from all app works excellent now

So I'm dealing with a slight problem. Honestly could just be something to get used to. I have the India Model (Global Rom), and I deal with a notification issue for my lock screen. I've already done adb and gotten rid of iManager, but I still seems to have an issue with notifications coming through.
This is mostly with Android Messages (I use this as my default). If I leave a notification of a message on my lockscreen for too long, it eventually disappears and indicates on my home screen I no longer have a notification (Using Nova). But when I enter the app of course the message is still there and says unread. Its a small problem, but it can become annoying.
Its as if I leave a notification in the status bar for too long, it eventually disappears and then indicates I no longer have a notification. Is this just a normal thing for an international device? ( I am in the states by the way).
Its a small gripe, because otherwise I still love the device and I'm glad I waited for the India model. Its my daily driver for now.
anyone have problem with whatsapp vibration unable to change into the default/short/long options... no matter which option i chose... the whatsapp vibration will just revert back to the default vibration.... my group msg vibrating like mad instead of the short vibration that I really like for grp chat....
Easiest way to deal with problems on the Vivo Nex= just sell the phone and go with Xiaomi or OnePlus.
Hello,
I have noticed that the Wi-Fi Calling notification does not go away even if I turn Wi-Fi Calling off. I have already put the notification to silent and reduced but it constantly sits there and annoys me. Does anyone know a trick how to get rid of it completely? The options for disabling it are greyed out and cannot be turned off. My S21 Ultra which had the same e-SIM, came from the same region, did not have that issue although the function was turned on 24/7.
The package which causes those notifications is com.sec.unifiedwfc.
EDIT: At the moment I have blocked the notifications using AutoNotification app from the store.

I did check it but could not find anything useful. The one thing that could have helped, notification snooze time change, has failed to apply even though I granted all permissions via ADB. The app suggested to use OneUI Tuner but it is not available on xda labs when I open the official link.
Sorry, I thought you were talking about the notification on the status bar
can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing? not fully understanding the issue here

It is just the carrier pushing for Wifi call. Tmobile does that.
What I do? I turn of wifi right when a call comes. The HD+ is much better without wifi.

If you put it to silent it will look as in the screenshot. Turning off is greyed out.
