GUIDE FOR TWRP install & ROOT
Xiaomi Redmi Pro {ALL VERSIONS} TWRP download and Redmi Pro root
This guide will help you install TWRP and root Redmi Pro, the first step is to install TWRP custom recovery on the Redmi Pro. The process contains quite a few steps, but most of them take just a few seconds.
If it looks daunting, don’t worry, take each step one by one and you’ll come through with TWRP and a rooted Redmi Pro within just a few minutes.
Prerequisites and note
You must have an unlocked bootloader to follow this guide; flashing through fastboot requires an unlocked bootloader. If your Redmi Pro bootloader isn’t unlocked yet, go to the official Xiaomi unlock page to begin the process.
You need to backup anything you don’t want lost to your PC or a TF SD card; for TWRP to work, you may need to factory reset. You will lose all user data. Backup all important data BEFORE you flash the TWRP.{only if you choose twrp 3.0.20}
1. WHATS INCLUDED
PASSWORD IS"kristi6.9"
a.Auto installer for adb commands, adb drivers and fastboot commands– These are the tools that will allow your PC to communicate with your mobile.
View attachment adb-setup-1.4.2.zip
b.Redmi Pro TWRP custom recovery used for rooting and flashing custom ROMs onto Redmi Pro.-links below
c.Redmi Pro root SuperSU.zip– The SuperSU.zip used for rooting Redmi Pro through TWRP recovery(extract it to get supersu binary +supersuapk+supersu premium)link below
2. Install the adb drivers and fastboot commands
Extract the above download.
Run “adb-setup.exe”.
Hit “Y” to all 3 questions.
The Google adb driver installer will then popup. Go ahead and allow and install.
3. Prepare your Xiaomi Redmi Pro
Settings >> About phone >> Tap “MIUI Version” seven times.
Hit the back button. You should then be at the main settings menu.
Go to “Additional settings” >> “Developer options” >> “USB Debugging”.
A warning will pop up. Go ahead and allow.
Plug your phone to PC via USB cable.
You should then see a pop up request on your Redmi Pro to give your PC USB debugging permissions. Go ahead and allow.
4. Copy the TWRP and open the command window
Open Windows Explorer and go to “c:/adb”.
Copy “twrp.img” to “c:/adb”.
IN A BLANK SPACE (not on a filename etc…), hold SHIFT while RIGHT-CLICK
Select “Open command window here”. You should then see a small black window open.
5. Boot into bootloader and fastboot flash the TWRP
In the black command window type “adb reboot bootloader”. Hit Enter. Wait about 10 seconds and you should then see your Redmi Pro says “Fastboot” along with the Xiaomi Mascot.
In the black command window type “fastboot flash recovery twrp.img”. Hit Enter.
You should then see that the file has flashed successfully (OKAY). It all takes just a second. (see pic and video)
6. Boot into TWRP
In the black command window, type “fastboot reboot”. Do not hit Enter yet.
Hold Volume Up on the Xiaomi Redmi Pro while hitting Enter on your PC.
Continue holding Volume Up for about 30 seconds until you see TWRP has booted.
BAM! You’re now booted into TWRP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Method 2: If you have twrp already installed
1.Put twrp.img in the phone storage
2.Boot on twrp recovery
3. Press install
4.Then install image
5.Check twrp.img in your phone storage
6.And slide to install it.
this twrp does not suits for 4/128 version.
on 128g, twrp can not recognize data and storage partitions so it can not make a full wipe to these partitions. So after installing xiaomi.eu rom from any official rom, a lot of programs crashes and gives error. no possiblity to use phone.
thanks for information
You could flash like you want!
@merowin, the recovery remains in the device but you must follow the instructions for right root and it remain in the device.. If you don't follow the instructions after reboot in the system the recovery will be replaced with the original one.
This is for all devices not only for this one.
Hello, I've seen a lot of community members struggling to install custom ROMs, GApps, Magisk or DolbyAtmos, so I've created a guide. So did I, this took me around 15 tries without bootlooping or breaking my OS. Yes, I was really new at this. Some guides had broken English that I couldn't understand, others were too complicated.
However, now I am presenting you a fully working, detailed (and easy) guide. Hopefully, it'll help at least someone to avoid potential mistakes when flashing or using root. Good luck!
(If you don't install TWRP, the GApps version will mismatch!)
I was writing these steps while actually installing the ROM, so it should work for sure.
I might add guides for installation of other ROMs too.
A newbie tip: If you can't see your internal storage, swipe down the notification bar and change USB Charging to Transfer Files.
Coming from stock Android 8.0? Coming from Android Nougat, 7.1.2? Do you need to reflash your TWRP?
Take a look
Very nice guide. Appreciate it...
I want to ask something.. I am not a LOS fan. I won't flash too. Asking this question for some of my whatsapp friends... My question is...
They have already permanent TWRP installed. So do they need to install twrp installer again? With that A/B slot trick?
I'm not a developer but I'll try to answer your question as well as I can. By logical thinking and my personal experience, I've came to this conclusion: (Don't take me by word, I might not be totally right!)
If you are coming from stock, Android 8.0, you shouldn't need to flash TWRP again.
If you are coming from Nougat, 7.1.2, you'll need to reflash TWRP again.
If you are coming from other custom ROMs, you shouldn't need to flash TWRP again.
With that said,
I've always reflashed my TWRP with the latest one provided for the ROM I was installing at the moment, just in case.
About that A/B trick, when I was flashing the first LineageOS version, I needed to use the A/B partition trick.
However, in the latest one released on 13/03, I needn't. (I didn't try the version released on 8th March.)
That depends. First, check if is your internal storage encrypted. If it is, you'll need to wipe it.
There might be workarounds on the forum, but I, personally, haven't tried those, yet.
Not sure if permissive script is needed for dolby atmos, dolby works well on my MiA1 without this script because this rom is already with permissive sellinux... Thank you for your help, it will sure be helpfull. You should try Dual Speaker mod if you haven't got it on your phone.
Is it alright to flash LOS15.1 from stock Nougat or is it a prerequisite to upgrade to stock Oreo before flashing LOS15.1?
Thanks.
The magisk's permissive script isn't needed, since LOS 15.1 is already in the permissive state. However, if you'd accidentally/purposely change your SELinux status, the DolbyAtmos would break and you'd possibly face audio issues.
There's no need to upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo first, you delete all files in /system anyway. You can directly flash to 8.1. Don't forget to reflash your TWRP!
Follow the steps in the DOLBY ATMOS section. Copy required files to your device and start from step 4.
Download the Dolby Atmos and magisk's permissive script here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NL_Sq2q05L6RyZQSGsPam3HrGoEoOesY
Be carefull with dualspeaker mod if you use it with dolby atmos.
You must change the volume value manually to 80 maxi (default is 84) in the file...
Read carefully thze original post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/mod-xiaomi-mi-a1-soundmod-dualspeaker-t3741675
1. Download Drivers and install them (Disable Signed Driver Enforcement)
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1T6MTq1upNt_yxrPD9MfOHR8vTOzRisvs
2. Download Oppo R9s Plus/F3 Plus Marshmallow Firmware (CPH1611EX_11_A.16_180106) and Extract it using Winrar/7-zip into a seperate FOLDER
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xo-J5Pe65-fXyJbysVrAZYQ1mocfl53s/view
2.1 Also Download Oppo A57 Firmware and extract it anywhere you like
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B_0XnEjFCVsPWndzSnp2YTFYSkU&export=download
3. Download TWRP Recovery - Keep the recovery img in the same folder as of extracted firmware folder and make sure recovery file name is set to "recovery.img"
Twrp 3.1.1-0 (Latest) - Material Theme and Inbuilt Super SU Root available for easy rooting BUT Chinese language
Download and Extract only recovery.img and place it under firmware folder. u can delete other files.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gkNNx2Ik6oRF-juBDNIilDUu31w6_oI_/view?usp=sharing
To change the chinese language to english please download and flash this zip But in English language you will not get Super SU Root option to root the device from built-in twrp. you have to download SU zip now. So root directly from chinese language and then flash the english language zip to be on safe and easy side
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634752414
Twrp 3.1.0-0 (old) (RECOMMENDED) -
Normal appearance of twrp and no inbuilt SU (sometimes it prompts to install SU, if you decline once, it won't prompt again) and totally English language. Most importantly you can flash opposite OTA updates (ozip) via this twrp
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qbobokagdgme2oa/AABQBtKTmbwChne9z1DaayHca?dl=0&preview=recovery.zip
4.1. Now run MsmDownloadTool from our F3 plus firmware folder and uncheck "Reset After Download"
5. Switch off ur Mobile and Hold Vol down + Vol Up simultaneously and Plug the usb to pc
5.1 After plugging to pc, open device manager and expand PORTS section and make sure the device is detected as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM xx)". if not you have drivers issues!
6. Press F5, uncheck all options except Recovery and double click on Recovery option and select the recovery.img from firmware folder.
7. press Start and Flashing will be success (Green color message). press stop and unplug the usb
8. Press and hold Vol Up and Power Button and release them when it vibrates. NOW IMMEDIATELY after seeing oppo logo AGAIN PRESS Vol up + Power button to Power Off your device to prevent booting!!!! (If you fail to turn off your device, mobile will boot and will auto restore the stock recovery. so you will have to re-flash the twrp again)
9. Now press Vol Down + Power button to Enter into TWRP
Hi, i recently update my oppo F3 plus (CPH1613EX_11_A.18_180413 marshmallow), and i try to root it using this method, it's always boot on the stock recovery when i finish (i did step by step every single world you said).
I think that's a security renforcement about this version of colorOs, i wonder if there is a way ton downgrade to the last version without losing my data (lots of apps), because i did root it whit the version that i had once.
Thanks you
Re: So, i flashed my oppo with the msmtool that you put on your post (all images expect datauser partition), and changed the recovery image before the phone boots..... and it woorks perfectly now.
PS: dont upgrade to the version CPH1613EX_11_A.18_180413 if you want root your phone, it won't work.
[GUIDE] How to fix "Find Device storage corrupted. Your device is unsafe now".
How to fix "Find Device storage corrupted. Your device is unsafe now" ?
(At your own risk... I'm not responsible for damage or brick)
Required :
- Be rooted and have TWRP installed !
- Miui Fastboot ROM : xiaomifirmwareupdater.
Tutorial :
- Download the Miui Fastboot ROM corresponding to your current Miui version.
- Extract files from the archive downloaded, open "images" folder and copy "persist.img" file in your smartphone Internal Storage (past the file directly in Internal Storage, not in folder !).
- Reboot in Recovery Mode.
- In your TWRP, open the Terminal (in "Advanced").
- Enter this two commands :
Code:
simg2img /sdcard/persist.img /sdcard/persist_EXT4.img
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/persist_EXT4.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist
- Reboot your smartphone.
More information :
I got this problem when I restored my Miui backup after try a Custom Android 10 ROM. At each smartphone boot, I got the message "Find Device storage corrupted. Your device is unsafe now", fingerprint unlock was set on "Off", and registered fingerprint(s) was deleted. When I added a new fingerprint, it was registered (until the next boot), but didn't work.
If you do a little research, you can find a other method on some websites where you use fastboot to flash persist.img. I tried and sadly it not work ("FAILED (remote: Error: This image isn't allow download)"):
I had the same error and found 2 ways to solve it:
1st:
I had flashed the MIUI 11 Rom from August 27 2019. I simply replaced it by the latest stable EU Rom and the error disappeared . Next I flashed the Rom from August 27th back.
2nd:
Find device storage corrupted your device is unsafe now
1. You need Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP. You can boot in TWRP instead of flashing it.
2. Download the fastboot ROM for the device. Extract it and copy persist.img file to the internal memory of the phone. Make sure put the file in internal storage rather than in any folder.
3. Put the phone in fastboot Mode, Power Button and Volume Down key.
4. Boot in TWRP by "fastboot boot twrp.img" command.
5. In the TWRP Main Menu. Go to Advanced ------ Terminal
6. Write the below 2 lines:
simg2img /sdcard/persist.img /sdcard/persist_EXT4.img
dd if=/sdcard/persist_EXT4.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist
7. Reboot the Phone and check.
Yes
So the solution is to log in to the device on Mi account with the mi account used to unlock the device. So basically you can unlock again the device but with the same Mi account used on the first attempt. If normal log in to Mi account is not possible, try to log in using google (press google icon on the bottom-you must have Google account in the phone, and it must be linked with mi account. After that i just launched miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.24 and it worked instantly.
I didn't add mi account to mi unlock status even and still was working.
So the key is mi account used for device unlock for the first time- ( DIDN`T WORKED WITH OTHER MI ACCOUNTS)
buy the way this is the solution for UNLOCKING DEVICE, after that is easy, just install Minimal ADB and Fastboot and download recovery for your phone, put recovery in the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder and open Minimal ADB and Fastboot and run command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after that fastboot boot recovery.img
and you are in TWRP - from there is easy to ,,fix find device storage is corrupt" if you have that error...
working for Redmi Note 7/7S Lavender
Had the same issue with my F3. I know this thread is a bit old. But I am in no really luck. I tried this method but it doesn't work. It says an error " invalid sparse file format at header magic
Alternatively, you can flash it with twrp. Copy persist image to internal storage, boot to twrp, select "Flash Image" by pressing the big button located at lower right, select the image file and upon selection the twrp shows another window to choose what are you flashing. Choose "Persist" and slide to flash, it takes just one or two seconds and after that just reboot. I had this problem earlier and fixed by completing these steps.
This thread is very useful. Many thanks to @SkullDead and Muz_paray
Hello,
Sorry for my suspicious report. (but glad to make you loool)
Your are right Windows Defender is the only engine on virustotal to detect this files :cyclops:
Defender is not so bad for Windows files, but I agree it's really not a reference with android files
I've also verifed dpmserviceapp.apk on my xiaomi.eu 11.2 rom with the same result.
Will I be able able to revert to miui 10.3.2 if I restore this backup. Additionally, once restore rom, can I restore apps and data from previous miui version?
Any chance you still have a copy of that 3.3.1-3 TWRP? All links on XDA/Google seem to be dead for that particular build, and it was the only one that didn't have the stupid Pin/Pattern, Pattern/Pin bug. Even the latest TWRP (3.5.1) still has that bug.
Thanks.
