New View 10 owner. I'm getting fc's and hangs using GMaps. Waze works fine so it has nothing to do with GPS. I was a beta tester but I opted out and uninstalled any updates hoping that would work but only got more of the same.
Any help would be appreciated. Love the phone however!

Yep, did all of that too. I must say though, now that I have been using Waze I like it a lot. Seems much more simple and less intrusive to me. Anyway, I would still like to find out why it's happening :good:

Same...I prefer Waze as well but I hate when something is not working as it should. If I find a solution I'll let u know.
Having the same exact issue and I've solved it, sort of. If you sign out of your Google account inside maps it will work perfectly, but once you sign in and restart the app it stops working again. So it works fine as long as you're not signed into your Google account inside the app...

Can you provide some details on how your phone is set up? Are you on FHD+ or HD+ resolution? FD+ will not exhibit the issue.

I'm on Smart Mode. But I tested right now FHD+ and HD+, with no issue.
My phone is rooted with Magisk and still on standard Boot loader (no TWRP).

I'm sure the root and the rom have a lot to do with it working correctly. I'm on stock and I'm assuming the others that are having issues are on stock as well.

ROM is stock, see screenshot.
Map has no root rights.
Map is a system app, maybe this is the difference?

Interesting. Defeats the purpose if you have locations saved that you want to get to. Waze is a great alternative till this gets resolved.
Thanks :good:

What is Smart Mode? I hear that disabling that can also help the lagging issue.

I have no lagging issues, as far as I know
I mean the smart mode from the Screen Resolution:
You can switch from FHD+ (2160X1080) to HD+(1440X720).
Smart Screen Resolution: It decides on its own depending on your battery level.
Also from what've been reading recently, this might be a common software issue that is associated with the Kirin 970 chipset or EMUI 8.0 as some people are experiencing the same issues with the Huawei P20. Hopefully this speeds up the process of an upcoming patch to solve the problem.

Hopefully. A patch would be great. I wonder if it's been noted in Honor's forums....if they have a forum. I never even looked to see. Came here first.
Same problem here. Lags and unresponsive. Wonder what's the deal?.

Mine is working perfectly fine. I am on stock (BKL-L09 - 8.0.0.140 C432), using FHD+ and signed in to Maps. It is snappy as hell, no FCs or lagging at all. If you guys need any more specific data from my build or phone let me know.

I second this. No problems at all, and I have been using Google Maps often recently. Simply works flawlessly.
I am having the same issue. I tried factory reseting my phone and maps still closes on me. Only time maps seems to work is with the Andriod auto app. ?
I know its not supported but hear me out, I got bored and tested a few roms for the xa2. specifically this one...

Ironically enough, I just started trying to build an aosp pie rom for the h3223.
Halfway into the process, while selecting the phone model, I realized that our model is not shown.
However, The h3213 is the european version of our phone with some overlaying similar basebands.
I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens.

Will post updates on this thread as I make progress.
Right now I am updating the repositories on my system and attempting to do another build. I have performed some research and will be testing a few things locally. I don't want to excite anyone as I do not know where this will lead. Hopefully will have more info soon.

I have been silently trying to make progress. Have had issues with a server, so I had to rebuild that. Once I got it back up and running, I am having issues with the build. A little more investigation led to the fact that enough storage had not been provisioned to the machine.
Now am currently in the process of re-installing and configuring the build environment. I hope to have an update posted later this weekend.
Cheers :good:.

Alright, I was up until three last night. But I made some good progress.
Flashing the image files compiled from source does not provide any sort of google apps functionality whatsoever.
I ended up being able to boot twrp recovery and sideload opengapps. This has given me play store functionality.
Current things that are working:
- Wifi
- Camera
- Audio
- Video
- Hardware buttons
- SIM Card is recognized, and only occasionally gives me cell service.
The device will occasionally reboot randomly. It seems that it will just freeze and reboot.
With that being said, I have been using snapchat on the device without any issues. I will continue more testing and research.

Any news on your work?
So let me know if I'm wrong but judging by reading this thread some pioneer roms work on xa2 ultra codename discovery... Correct?
Lately when I say "Hey Google" it doesn't work. I've googled troubleshooting and tried everything I can find. If I press the microphone, I have no issues at all. It can recognize my voice just fine. Anyone else have these issues or know of a solution that may help?

Hello guys, I recently got my new Oneplus 8T, and, whilst the device is amazing from what I could use it, it has an annoying flaw that I couldn´t find any information of.
When I press a whatsapp, telegram, etc notification, there´s a bit of delay inbetween the press and the start of the app opening. The phone does it the majority of times, as you can see in the video below (at the 10 second mark it opens it right):
Do you have an idea on what could be causing this? Does any of you have the same issue I do? I tried turning off everything related to battery saving, even factory reseting. Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance!

I've come across some people with this specific flaw, I contacted Oneplus and they told me to factory reset the phone and if that didn't help (which did not, since I've gone wayy further with it, installing HydrogenOS and older versions of OxygenOS and didn't solve the issue), it "might" be a software issue and it "might" be solved in the next software update.
For how much have you been with the phone?
What is bugging me is that this problem is too specific for it to be a hardware issue.

Yes, I still have my Oneplus 7 Pro and it works flawlessly. I think I found something crucial.
The problem lays whitin the "Notifications" apartment. I'll explain myself.
As you can see in this new video I recorded
that weird delay shows when I open a notification coming from the tab "Notifications". BUT, when I open the SAME APP (Play Store) from a notification coming from "Other notifications" there's no delay at all, the phone works flawlessly, see how I press to see how my download is going, there's no lag. It would be wonderful if you could try it yourself, and see if that's the case on you unit too.
Taking this into account, I'm almost 100% sure this is a software related problem, and has nothing to do with hardware, probably a bug.
I'll report it to the bug reporting section of Oneplus and see if they can work on it.

The latest OTA kinda did something for me. I get the delay 5 out of 10 times I press a notification. Used to be 9 out of 10 times lol. It's not completely fixed but it's an improvement. What I did was send a bug report to the Oneplus bug reporting site and they said that they will be working on it.
So a new release is out! Anyone try it yet?

Neat brother, thanks for the heads up !
Do they force us to use Gapps, or is there a google free version as well for those who don't want the malware ?
Gapps is included. Don't think they have a non Gapps version. I am on Lineage at the moment as I could not get Google Chrome to work on the 4.0 version of this ROM and had issues getting cdDroid running. I would like to get on 11 but I need a stable ROM for my daily driver.

There's no in or out audio when you call or receive a call with the Phone app, even if connected through a Bluetooth device (car or headphone).
Besides that, this new official ROM is very good.
I'm really surprised of its stability... Is it feasible to use Nuclear version until the bug is fixed?

Maybe is worth to mention I had to install QQ1A.200105.007 firmware (January 2020) to be able to use TWRP to flash StatiXOS 4.1. Before, my device was using last Essential official build (February 2020) but with this firmware TWRP didn't work, as reported at many threads.
I know StatiXOS 4.1 is using its own vendor, but I guess the firmware goes beyond the vendor and there could be some leftovers.
