I just unpack my FTV put in my account info, watch the intro-video
when to settings, system, but I can't find the option "Developer", so I can't Toggle “ON” the “ADB Debugging”
.by the time it tock me to look around the system, the system has auto update to v510058520
anyone else at that version?
I'm still at 55620, but I blocked my firetv from checking the update server (I think).
Hopefully isn't amazon hiding it to disable sideloading of apps. I would sell mine if they do that.
Are you sure you're looking in the right spot? My firetv auto-updated, but the option is still available.
1.From the main (Launcher) screen of Amazon Fire TV, select Settings.
2.Select System > Developer Options.
3.Select ADB Debugging.
Interesting.. I blocked mines from updating.. If it works... So still on original firmware

Hey guys,
I was interested in this field and was wondering how exactly you were leveraging root permissions to actually capture the system audio? This would be super helpful for me - if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your sources it would be much appreciated.
Hey,
Just asking, what does this App do? Any Screenshots? Link to Google Play?
Gesendet von meinem A0001 mit Tapatalk
iirc it lets you stream your system audio over dlna to something like a sonos speaker or upnp device. along with some other less important stuff, check on the playstore com.nav.aoaservice

Very cool that AOA is now free. I like the simplicity of the app -- just redirecting audio to RAOP device on network. Plays well with XBMC/Kodi on Raspberry PI and Airmusic NW11 Airplay/DLNA box.
It works well for me with AOSP (OmniROM) but just seems to pipe noise from HTC Sense ROM (HTC M7 Dev Edition). Does Sense use a non-standard audio stack?
Thank you for this free app. It seems to work well for me as a solution of piping Xbox music pass to my Denon. Only thing I wish it did which another paid app does is send song track info to the airplay device, perhaps it specifically knows how to hook into the Xbox music app for this info, it just works automagically. Would be super if this could get added at some point but isn't critical.

WE have confirmation!
Just receieved a reply from the developer. He explained that he has been overseas with no access to his email.
This is what he said about it being banned from the play store:
The app does NOT modify any system files and will not harm your device.
On Android 5.0, SELinux is enabled by default, which will make injectso fail, to make injectso work, the app temporary disable SELinux, launch injectso, then re-enable SELinux immediately , This happens at startup of the app and only lasted a 3 seconds, it should not cause any harm to your device. Unfortunately Google use this as an excuse for violating their developer's terms and have banned this app from playstore.

Pity it's not in development any more.

Google officially released Android O Oreo
2 Ways to update
1) OTA
2) Flash below file

Anyone having trouble with Netflix on Android O?
Wow, zero discussion. Guess I'll jump in blind...
Wow really though, noo discussion at all, well I'm here, im trying to find what's different or updated or new with Android o specifically for our Nexus player compared to Android n beta??
Everyone who knows about change log on this OS version?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Installed boot and system images over the latest N version and it booted, but lost root. I reflashed the su.zip, but still no root. Trying to downgrade to N now, but keeps bootlooping when loading the launcher. If you want rooted O, don't do an in place upgrade!
Does anyone know if this has increased functionality with Google Home and Chromecast Audio devices?
I got Android O for the Nexus Player today and I have mixed feelings about it. It's different from what I have come accustomed to but it has a nice touch with an actual app drawer. I have always had apps i just stopped showing love to because they got buried. The recommedations are now catagorized per app for what is refered to as channels. It is really smooth and runs most apps flawlessly but that could because only one app runs at a time. Its not all Chocolate and cream though ( Oreo reference) because exits an app automatically when you go home. The home screen doesn't have a background at all. There is no Google Assistant yet but I understand why because the Shield TV has first dibs. There is no PIP for YouTube. Recent apps are gone and is replaced by the app drawer poping up when you hold down home button. ES File Explorer doesn't load. This is still the beta so let's see how this goes. I'm hoping they don't leave it as dumbed down as it is now but it's a big step forward.
Pros:
Very Smooth
App Drawer
More attention for your forgotten apps
Catagorized Recommendations (Channels)
Nexus Player is still getting love
Cons:
Only one app runs at a time
Exits out apps when you go to home screen
No Google Assistant (for now)
No background image on home screen
No PIP on Youtube app
No recent apps (replaced with app drawer)
Some apps aren't compatible (ES File Explorer)

The issue is the apps (like file commander) aren't allowed to install the apks. How do we get around that issue? I have install apps from unknown sources on, but something changed in Android O and I can't seem to figure out how to grant those apps access to install apks.

I installed the Astro file manager, but if you try to install an apk it says, that installing from external sources isn't possible on the TV.
Has anybody get a way to root the player under Android o?

Root with this http://download.chainfire.eu/1024/SuperSU/SuperSU-v2.79-SR4-20170323220017-ODP1-5X-6P-ExtraDelay.zip
It works you just have to adb sideload it with TWRP 3.1.1 and you will have root
Android O has changed the way an app asks for permissions and included a permission request for apps to ask to install unknown sources.. Unfortunately no file exploring app has this permission request in their manifest so their apps don't ask for it so they don't even get an option to have it. Android O on the smartphones have an option to manually grant permissions that aren't asked but the Nexus player doesn't have this option in the settings.
Here's a link explaining more http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/21/android-o-feature-spotlight-model-installing-apps-unknown-sources-changed/
That's what I figured, need to wait on a file manager to be updated to request permission or wait for a beta release that includes the option in settings to manually allow external app sources.

weird because on the dp2 it works again but now my hbogo app doesn't work...new interface is pretty sexy though
I think Android O will become great. The new launcher is a bit weird when you're used to the default look. Personally I liked the design of the previous launcher. It wasn't as useful as the new one is....
If Google continue to improve the new launcher for the release it might become really good. Design wise it's missing the polish.
App drawer that pops when long-pressing home is awesome. It works even when you're in an app. Good start but I want more: the ability to reorder items within the drawer by long-pressing an item (like before), hide/show apps.
Customization: Backgrounds. How come such a trivial function ain't implemented? Scaling of items. Choosing how any items to show in the Channels etc.
Questions:
1. App switching is gone. Did Google state why? Will it come back in the release?
2. PiP, is it gone? Or, how do I activate PiP, jump to the home screen, continue to watch PiP and then switch back to the video?

Dear G1-Amateur,
I have not found any Heart-rate apps with Bluetooth Connectivity. But, if you describe exactly what kind of app you need, I will search online and come up with some. Have on mind that in order such an app to work, your Nucleus-Based Smartwatch must have a Heart Rate Sensor compatible with that. So, if you want me to find an app for your watch, please send me the device's specs (to find them press *#66*# on the Smarrwatch's dialer - then press Version > Summary) and an extensive description of the app you want.

Hi guys! I made a USB tethering and reverse tethering app that doesn't require root. It also doesn't require you to enable USB debugging (except on Windows, I'll try to fix that on a future release). It uses USB accessory mode which can make it faster than apps that uses ADB.
Tethering
This allows you to share your device's wifi or mobile internet connection with your PC. You can use this if your carrier or data plan doesn't allow you to enable the built-in tethering feature of your device. Or if you have unlimited data plan, but your carrier caps your hotspot/tethering usage to a certain amount, say 7GB.
Reverse Tethering
This feature allows you to share your PC's internet connection with your device. I use this to reduce lag when playing online games since my room has an unstable wifi signal and my PC is already connected to the internet via an ethernet cable. You can also use this if you're in a place where your PC has access to wired internet and there's no wifi available.
Note: Some apps only check for wifi or cellular connectivity, thus will not work when reverse tethering.
Network
When tethering or reverse tethering, your PC along with all connected devices will be in the same network. This means a device can communicate with your PC and other connected devices. This is useful if you want to transfer files from one device to another or if you want to access a server (e.g. HTTP server) on your PC from your device.
Note: ICMP is currently not supported so the ping command will not work when tethering or reverse tethering.
Additional Features
• No root required
• No USB debugging required (except on Windows)
• Fast link speed (200Mbps+ on some devices)
• IPv6 support (may not work on some devices)
• Up to five devices can be connected
• Configurable network settings
GOOGLE PLAY LINK
The app also requires a server application to be installed on your computer. You can download it from the following links.

This is great! Thanks for your hard work. It works on my primary device, but I have an old secondary device with broken Wi-Fi that I pretty much just use as an alarm clock. I'd like to update some apps on that device through Tetrd, but unfortunately I can't reverse tether until I log into my Google account... which I can't do until I'm somehow able to reverse tether. Any chance users could be authorized as free without any need to log in?

I'm on Google Play services version is 14.8.48 with Android 4.4.2. But I think the reason why I am unable to sign in is that I simply don't have Internet access at all on the old device: no WiFi, and without a micro-SIM card to use, no mobile data either. There are other tethering solutions which seem like they might work on Android 5.0+, but unfortunately I can't even update to a new custom ROM with the WiFi broken: system UI crashes as soon as any new ROM loads up and then it just boot loops. I'm stuck. I might just have to bite the bullet and buy a micro SIM or an Ethernet OTG adapter.

I just tested this, and you're right. I wasn't able to sign in on Android 4.4.2 up to 5.0.2 (5.1.1+ works fine) when reverse tethering without wifi or mobile data connection. It seems Google Play services only checks for wifi or mobile data connection when determining internet connectivity on those versions. Because of this, some Google apps will not work or some of their features won't work. For example, Google Play Store won't download apps or app updates, and YouTube's search feature won't work. If you only need to update some apps, you can just download their apks and sideload them to your device.
