LCD replaced but don't turn on - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I replaced my LCD and I was guide by the unlimited videos on the net to do that, but when I try to turn it on (by the charger) there's a "flash" of about 5 secs, and then nothing. To understand better, watch the video whom had my identical problem. Thank for all of you guys!

I have the same problem but yesterday i managed to make it work... just let the battery drain so low that it doesn't even start the screen, (keep the phone on its side and keep some books on it, that should repeatedly switch on/off the phone amd drain quickly) then charge.
Can you boot into fastboot ?

[Q] Tablet? Oh, you mean my paperweight?

Hello friends. Having lots of issues with my tablet.
A while ago i noticed that my tablet was running a bit sluggish, and the brightness of the screen was flickering when on auto-brightness. I didn't think anything of it, but the next morning when I unplugged it after it was charging all night, it was at 30% after a few minutes. Every time I plugged it in it would say "charged", but a few seconds after I unplugged it it would go back to 30%. It's gotten to the point where I can't use it because it won't turn on. It's plugged in, but I press the power button and the screen lights up for a half second and then dies (i'm assuming).
I've tried other cables, etc, anyone have any ideas? I haven't been able to use my tablet the past 2 days because of this.
Sounds like it's time to RMA...

Was afraid of this...Kinda was hoping it would be a software issue
Think they'll care if I rooted it?
Rooting it would not cause this and I'd get in to a massive argument with anyone that claimed otherwise.

Mine also was having the same issue. I searched high and low for a fix and finally came across a thread here on XDA that suggested deleting a corrupted jpg image that is created by the default camera 'Camera Awesome'. The corrupt jpg image sends the media scanner into an endless loop that taxes the CPU nonstop. The folder location is Android/data/com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome. I would delete any subfolders also. Hope this does the trick for you. Another tip is to stop the Blake_wakelock wakelock created by the Shield Wireless Controller which drains your Wi-Fi continually. Download the 'Disable Service' app from the google play store and once it is installed scroll over to the system apps and long click the 'SHIELD Wireless Controller Service'. From there you can disable the 'BlakeManagerService'. You can always turn it back on if and when you need to use it but that will stop your wakelocks for now. Hope everything works out for you. I was having the same trouble as you but was determined to figure it out as I did not want to send mine back cause it is my first tablet and has a lot of potential. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem is I can't get it to turn on at all. Oh well, my replacement has already shipped and gets here Monday
Mine as well
Mine was working fine for 4 days. Set it down then went to power on to read book and nothing. I take it I have no recourse but to call Newegg and RMA?

Disconnect your USB cable, is it still lit? The LED is a charging indicator in some ROMs but the fact that it is on when powered off is odd. If the LED is lit and no USB cable is connected and the power is off, this sounds like an electrical issue inside the device but to be sure I would do a full factory image flash and test it.
We all know it has an LED, have for some time... but it is hard wired to the charging circuit so when activated it only shows charging status and nothing else. If yours is one all the time, it could indicate a problem with the hardware.

It looks white. Even mine just flashed up one day for 0.5 seconds. You can do it to. Just discharge your phone completely until it turn off automatically then goto a very dark room cause the light is to dim and then plug your phone. You will see it flashed up for one second
Does that mean a USB cable isn't required to make it glow
Since you can't touch the battery, I suggest you discharge it it completely . Keep it mines it can be dangerous though.
Hi
It glows even if i switch off the phone. I have asked Flipkart to replace my handset. But they were trying to say that i should take it up with the company. I was stern and asked them to replace it since it is just 15 days since i brought the phone. They have told me that they will send the engg. tomorrow. Will keep you guys posted.

Even I have the same issue since yesterday .. LED is always ON even after powering off the device. Any Idea how to resolve this issue ??
Did you get any solutions for this ?? I am also facing the same issue , I did a factory reset. But the problem still exists.

It's applicable also to Moto G 3rd gen.
If with
echo none >/sys/class/leds/charging/trigger
LED stays on, it must be an hardware failure.
I have the same problem! Since two days ago the front LED is always switched on!
Weird, it popped up just an hr ago in my moto g, gen 3 as well bought in India, via Flipkart and won't go away. It has a flickering (seemingly pseudo random) characteristic in periodicity as well as luminosity potentially indicating a short-circuit of led power-circuit behind front speaker(s) or worse, some fourier optical-transmission pattern. It flickers even when powered off and that says something about this LED behind front-speakers. A factory reset also did nothing to it.
Hey guys! I aslo facing the same problem.i tried every thing except Root. I have tried power off, battery 100% drain, factory reset but nothing can stop led. please suggest if any one have its solution
i have tried these apps, and one of the kernel for our device can turn it on without any app, but what i want is enable without any mod or app.

Hey man did you managed to solve this issue? My led started glowing a few hours ago, I have 3 months with the phone.
Hi all,
is the issue still solved? today my phone has started to show the same thing, even after it's powered off the led still glows mildly. it's been 5 months i'm using it. I've wiped data, cache, system parititions then flashed a stock LP rom but the issue still exists. From custom Kernel if the 'Battery Light' option is turned ON when the phone is being charged it glows brightly. It's really uncomfortable to see it's lit all the time. I wish I could have removed that LED light from there lol
Anyone please have a look
Hi!
I have the same problem with the white led. I contacted Motorola Support (in Canada) and I got to send my phone to a service center. I just got my phone back and they say it's not repairable because of a liquid damage to the main board. The thing, my phone never got wet!
I don't know if others who contacted Motorola got the same result...
I just had one start doing it too... if warranty won't replace it then I think I will damage the LED to try and disable it to hopefully rid of any extra battery drain.
EDIT: Well i'm not sure about this because i was thinking about drilling with a super small bit down to the LED to disable it, however i don't know how the earpiece speaker functions and whether it would damage it's function as well.

Nexus 5 new screen is not working anymore

Hello,
I had an accident and after that my Nexus 5 screen was broken. So I decided to buy an new one from Amazon (~60$) and I tried to replace the screen on my own.
Yesterday I replaced the screen with a YT-Video, then I charged my Nexus 5 an the "Charging-Symbol" showed up.
After that I left the house for 2 hours and when I came back (I left the Nexus at home for charging ofc.) I tried to turn on the phone and nothing happened.
Then I tried to press power and volume down to get into the boot-menu and this also worked and the screen showed everything perfectly (!) and then I tried to start my handy from the boot-menu.
Until then everything has worked well but during the start progress I noticed that the (starting-)animation is really slow and laggy, so I decided to try to reboot my phone by holding power off for around 10 secs.
I tried to start my phone one or two times more and tried to get into the boot-menu, restart bootloader, etc. and then I realized that my phone didn't even want to work anymore. I could(and can) neither get into the bootmenu nor simply start it...
Do you have any ideas?
What suprised me the most is that it stopped working so quickly, so I concluded that I replaced the screen right but anything else went wrong...
Please help me :/
PS:
USB-Debugging is turned off and I cant access my phone with my pc or anythin else
Leave the phone on the charger for about an hour and then try to get into the bootloader.
When my phone is in the process of booting and I force it to power off by holding down the power button, it will not power up until I either leave it on a charger for a bit or leave it power off for a bit, usually 5 to 20 minutes.

Thanks, now I could get into my phone and enable USB-Debugging with much lock D)
My problem is, that my phone runs very unstable and shuts down often so I can't really work with it.
Do you know any solution and the more important question:
How can I save my data? I think, that I can save it anyhow if I enabled USB-Debugging with the bootloader and a pc, can't I?
Yes, you could pull the data from the phone using ADB commands.
You could also flash twrp to the phone. Once flashed, you could boot into twrp, mount the data partition, and copy data from the phone to the computer.
You could also use twrp to create a nandroid backup for safekeeping.
Is it possible that there is a loose connection in the phone? Have you tried disassembling and re-assembling?

I have now moved on!
My charger cabel was broken but now I got a new one!
I can start my Nexus (with some issues) and it runs but sometims it still shuts down and always when I try to plug in my cabel into the Nexus the screen gets black (but on the side you can see that the screen is light up in some way, idk...)
Is there a reason for the heating and for the shut downs? :/
I'm not sure but it seems like the screen has suffered a hardware malfunction because you can see that the backlight is on but no image.

And that means what?
And can I do anything for it? Maybe flash it or something?
Reset, etc..
With a hardware failure, there's nothing that software can fix. Did you try disassembling and re-assembling the phone?
With the old screen, can you see anything on screen? Did the phone power up and charge properly? If yes, put on the old screen to test the other components to see if it charges and powers up.

Yeah first sentence makes sence..
I swapped software and hardware, sry
my other screen doesn't work at all, completly destroyed...
The problem is that I can't imagine what should be the failure...
And yeah, I already tried disassembling and re-assembling it...
Still same problem
I have used cheap 3rd party screens to replace a few N5 phones and they quality is very inconsistent so I wouldn't be surprised if a 3rd party screen fails after a short period of use.

Nahh but the screen works I think..
Everything looks clear etc and the screen wasn't really cheap with 65$-70$ I guess..
I think it's something else because my phone gets really on near the CPU and this can't be because of the screen...
Where did you get the screen?
If it gets really hot near the cpu, then something else is going on. Could it be possible that there is a short-circuit somewhere?
Since the value Canadian dollar has dropped, I'm also paying about $60 for what was a $40 screen.

Yeah, I also thought about a short-circuit but I don't know how I can test this.
When I try to start my phone it fails like 4-5 times and then it works most of the time. The fail looks the following:
The "Google" logo appears and then suddenly the screen gets black, but not the "out"-Black (so that screen it out), I mean the "on, but black"-Black (hope u can understand.. xD)
During this 4-5 Tries my phone feels like 40°C-50°C (sry im from Germany, idk the conversion to °F value.. )
After this (I got the phone running one time for about 20 minutes) the phone doesn't heat up so much, if it starts right I think that the temparatur problem is over, but there is still the problem (also if the phone is running for 20 minutes) that it suddenly shuts down... :/
Sorry, idk much about canadian dollar, like I said im from germany and I payed around 65€
Google says, that this is around 67 (US-Dollar)
I don't know what to suggest other than either getting a new battery or new screen. Both items can be very expensive.

Red Blink Errors - No Screen

So I have no idea what's going on with my phone:
It consists of 3-4 sucessive red LED flashes, can see a charge icon on the screen for like 0.25 ms (literally haha), and then it shuts off and this process just repeats.. any idea what is going on?
I've attached the video here: https://youtu.be/rnW2euEdKaE
If it matters: The screen was cracked, and subsequently replaced, but that was some time ago..
Hi,
Did you try another charger ?
Definatly for some service

Tried that, took the battery out, plugged it in.. no more flashing red LED.. i see the huawei screen now, but it boot loops. If I insert the battery in while its plugged in like the above, than it does that led flash, and no screen.. so i'm thinking bad battery??
It's certainly the battery,
Last time your phone was working, did you use all the battery (until 0% and then power off by itself ? )
You can search a new battery on the Internet,
With the Model code at the top of it, you will find easily a new replacement battery)
If your battery goes under a certain level of charge, ie close to 0%, it's possible the onboard security prevent it to charge normally.
You can try the freezer trick, it helped me to recover an ipad with the same condition.
-Put your phone in a ziplock bag to prevent frosting and humidity.
-Let it rest at least 1h in the freezer
-As soon as you get it out of the freezer, plug it in a wall charger and wait at least 15 min before turning it on.
You should claim your warranty, contact your vendor.

Hi there.
Did you managed to fix that? I have same problem. I just replaced screen with new one.
Firstly I connected new screen to motherboard and it worked perfectly. I put it all together, glued new screen to frame, connected flex'es to mobo and... nothing. Red light blinks, and screen flashes with "HONOR powered by Android" screen if I disconnect battery and just plug to usb.
Battery is not a problem, before repair it had about 70%, and now it's voltage is around 4,05V.
Any ideas?
same thing was happening to my huawie honor 8 for some time now... i brought a new screen n that didn't fix the problem ,,,,, the person that fixed the screen for me said it needed a power boost( or something to that extent) n in like a hr or so after not being able to start just the screen blinking it came on!!!!!!! i was ecstatic tbh... sadly like a week n a half- a month later the **** stopped working again ... the red light comes on when it charges n every thing but the screen doesn't fully respond just stays blank. i definitely think its a battery problem but not too sure

Poco F2 Pro does not turn on when charging

Hey!
Yesterday I've stumbled upon a very serious (to me) problem, to which I cannot find any solution anywhere - I guess nobody so far reported anything like that.
My phone went out of battery (discharged to 0% and turned off, it was when I really could not plug it to charging).
When I connected it to charging, there was no reaction apart from the red light at the top of the frame, indicating that the phone is charging, but has low battery.
Apart from that, the phone looks like it is dead. It does not respond to anything - cannot be turned on nor enter the recovery/fastboot mode. The screen simply remains black, while the diode located in the pop-up camera lights red. As soon as I disconnect the phone, the red light goes off too.
I've had exactly the same problem once in the past, but then it came back to normal after 2-3 hours of charging with the red light on. Then the light became yellow, indicating the battery is "normal" and the screen regained functionality and the system booted like normal. This time however, it has been charging for over 24 hours and the phone still plays dead and the annoying red light is still there, giving me hope that the phone is not entirely dead.
How can I fix that? Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong subforum, but that's my first time. I only used your custom ROMs and kernels back in 2015-2017, but never posted anything.
Any feedback on the problem will be greatly appreciated!
I take it you tested with another cable and or another charger?
Which rom currently?

thank you for answering!
The charger and cable does not matter, the issue is still there. The phone detects that it is being charged, right now it has been charging for about 25 hours with several breaks for several minutes (I tried turning it on with the charger unplugged).
ROM is the latest official stable MIUI release. On this particular phone I haven't unlocked bootloader or messed with software in any way.
don't bother, send it back to the seller.
.
okay, thank you. I will wait and see if anyone else got any suggestion.
Put some pressure on the right hand top of the phone or try to bend it a little bit on that spot.
When it is charging then, send it back to the reseller under warranty.|
It happened with a few users and they got under warranty a new F2 Pro. (EU).
How long did you press on power on to turn it on? It take less than 5 sec to power on normally.
Once I have to press for long time to turn it on.
I got the same problem just now. Did you discover a fix?
