Hi guys !
At first I apologize for my English, I am French and i have a big problem :
First of all i was on this firmware : NXT-DL something before i want to install Android 7.0 Nougat.
I installed Android 7.0 Nougat with TWRP (NXT-L09C25B501CUSTC25D001) and decided to unistall because so many bugs.
When I tried to recovery my Mate 8 with a other ROM, here is the kind of message that I had during the procedure of installation : Failed to mount /cust (same message when i tried to wipe all)
After that (tried to wipe) the mate 8 started in an infinite load, I thought the WIPE works but no ROM for boot and same message when i tried to install the old ROM.
I search on internet for this : Failed to mount /cust And I understood that I had at least softbrick the phone or brick so i used DCPhoenix_v14 with the good ROM for unbrick and all the process was good.
A the end of the process, I tried to reboot the phone but nothing. I thought that the battery was dead because the LED shone 5 times green and 1 red time and that during several seconds and stops then so i let the Mate 8 charged 16 hours ~ something like that and when i tried to boot again, I saw the pink logo Chinese with a very lowluminosity (really very low) I needed the daylight to see the logo.
I tried to boot on fastboot, impossible, locked on the pink logo. Then i retire the SD card from his slot and here i can boot in fastboot (with the green robot and "phone unlocked") but i cant do anything.
I know my problem is big and maybe you guys dont know how to help me but i try and i hope we can do someting qui the fastboot mode.
PS : I tried to use SRKTool for many things when the Mate 8 is on fastboot mode, nothing works
PS2 : When i boot in fastboot mode, the led do the same thing when i was the pink logo
PS3 : I found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/help-unbrick-mate-8-t3310639 this guy haved the same problem, I read the post at the moment
Sorry again for my english, tell me if you guys have question, it's very important for me to repair this, i use it all days.
Best regards,
Balashe

Did you check in your computer device manager if you see the device? Maybe you have drivers problem.
Try with another pc.

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone would be able to provide any guidance on my issue.
Last night I went to uninstall root and so I used the SuperSU app - and hit the Unroot option - phone restarted and is now stuck in bootloop. I have tried to restore the original firmware via Odin, however the phone does not get detected. I have explored the possibility of a driver issue of some sort as my PC will detect the phone if it's powered off and connected. It detects it as an MTP device. When I try use the Volume Up + Home + Power button to access download mode the phone does not detect, and my PC does not show any device connected to it. I have tried Kies3 and a reinstallation of the Samsung drivers but Odin still does not recognise it.
When I start my phone up using VolUp+Home+PWR mode my phone looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Apologies for the potato quality camera, it was taken on my tablet. The yellow header text says:

samsung/heroltexx/herolte
6.0.1/MMB29K/G930FXXS1APG

Use volume up/down and power."
1. Reboot system now - this puts me in bootloop if used
2. Reboot to bootloader - bootloop as above
3. Apply Update from ADB - Update from external storage is disabled
4. Apply Update from SD Card - Update from external storage is disabled
5. Wipe data/factory reset - Works OK
6. Wipe Cache Partition - Works OK
7. Mount /system - Mounted /system - have tried mounting system then rebooting, however bootloop still.
8. View Recovery Logs - OK
9. Power OFF - OK
I would appreciate any advice on how to resolve this issue, I think that if I can get it to interface with Odin I might be able to restore. TIA.

Hi mate
Unroot sometimes fails..as you noticed....to fix it you have to get into download mode , sometimes is tricky , keep trying until you get it , is a timing issue ( boot image is corrupted ) , just try several times...once in , flash stock firmware......

Hi guys,
I made search online, watched videos, set the phone as it should be (protect app, app working in background, data and wifi ever on) but my problem is one: sometimes whatsapp notifications works, sometimes doesn't.
As long, I detected it on whatsapp, I also tried the beta of whatsapp and seems better but not fixed at all, in fact sometimes I don't receive notifications.. one case is when I'm using whatsapp and I switch to another app without going to the home (Like click on a notification of gmail when I'm on whatsapp) and after this I don't receive notifications until I restart the phone/uninstall whatsapp and install again.
I use the stock launcher, no root and the version is C900B170
Thank you for help me in case.

WhatsApp Users
For all of you who have been lamenting the poor notification situation on Nougat, cried over the fact that you only see the most recent message making the whole "notification" thing completely useless, things are looking out.
In version 2.17.14 beta (grab it from APK Mirror), WhatsApp has properly implemented notifications on Android 7.0 and 7.1 Nougat devices.
I managed to install adb drivers, went through the stuff until the moment I had to install twrp.. This is what I got.
fastboot flash recovery (MYPCSTUFF)/twrp-3.0.2-0-next.img

I understand why this happens to me, is because I didn't unlock it. I wrote an e-mail to huawei for give me the code so I can unlock it and I will do the installation of the recovery

Last update was on Aug 2017, every day I check for updates and NO Updates.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible to change the firmware to Middle East? (UAE, KSA, Egypt.. ) ?
2) What is the date of the latest available update, and how can I update to it?
Regards

It's Chinese version that you can't update in your region, you can root it & install a custom rom as I had did and here are the required steps:
Requirements download links:
Samsung USB driver http://download.cnet.com/Samsung-USB...-77538415.html
Odin https://odindownload.com/download/
TWRP download link https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889964283620775437
Rom : Nougat C9000ZHU1BQL3 Debloated: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329068625
(Source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/c9-pro/development/rom-stock-rooted-debloated-deodexed-t3702643
Steps:
1-Copy downloaded rom to external SD card of your phone
2-Activate development mode in your phone then turn on OEM Unlock & USB Debugging
3-Install Samsung USB driver to your PC
4-Start your phone in download mode (Power off your phone and press 3 keys in same time (Power+home+volume down) to start up
5-connect your phone to pc and run Odin app then press Volume Up of your phone
6-Flash TWRP app to your Phone
7-disconnect the phone from PC and start it in recovery mode (Power+home+volume up)
8-Twrp will start then format system & data and select install, locate downloaded rom on SD card to flash it and after finished select wipe Cache and reboot.

After reading this I was hoping that you could steer me in the right direction. I have a C9 Pro and it wont boot up properly. It remains at the samsung screen and then shuts down. I went on www.sammobile.com to search the firmware variants but could not find one for Canada. I know how to use Odin and I know how to flash my phone, so that isn't my concern. my concern is that I am unable to find the variant I need. The one for China that I found says its "open market" but that only means for China that it is open right? or can I use that over here in Canada? Also once I flash the phone with Odin would you suggest that I use TWRP as well?
thank you in advance for your help I really appreciate it. KARELESE1

Hello.
I've SM-C9000.
having some Chinese (maybe) chars in the settings, although I've English as main language.
This image from software info:
Last update was on Aug 2017, every day I check for updates and NO Updates.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible to change the firmware to Middle East? (UAE, KSA, Egypt.. ) ?
2) What is the date of the latest available update, and how can I update to it?
Regards

Hi,
Thanks for your help but the same issue an exclamation mark appeared in fastboot mode
Hi Guys,
I hope I'm in the right place here !? if not, I apologize, I'm new here
so, after finally unlocking the bootloader, I plan to change my Poco x3 (MIUI Global 12.0.7) to RR 10. In the past I have already changed Rome to LineageOS 10 on my old Leeco Le Pro 3. Now, after browsing the forum, I am very confused! how many things there are to consider! (I bricked my Leeco through a wrong TWRP installation, so I'm very careful). Decrypt (?), Clean / dirty Flash etc. were never an issue back then. Does anyone of you have a simple step-by-step description suitable for beginners of what should / must be observed (preferably in German)! Many thanks in advance!

Hi Pnin, thanks for the quick help! One question: what do you recommend for the first flash: clean or dirty?! Thx H0rdak
First must always be clean; dirty is only for updates (and sometimes, not even then).

Outdated. There is no need to boot to system after flashing ROM. Reboot to Recovery -> Flash Magisk & Gapps THEN reboot to system.
What about on Pixel 5. I want to flash ProtonAOSP And it says just flash as if you would the stock image, bc there is no TWRP for GP5. So does that mean I just use the flash-all command or fastboot boot ProtonAOSP.zip file? I'm confused as a motherF
hello people, thank you very much for the quick help! here you really get help! after pnin's execution, a few more questions have arisen:
1. is it really necessary to install gapps?
2. why orangefox and not TWRP? In the RR thread, twrp is recommended ?!
3. Which recovery is the most suitable (3.4.0-15 or 3.5.0-0 ???) - what are your experiences?
4. Is a special decrypt program necessary (in some youtube tutorials such a program is used)
1. Optional
2. Your call: OF appears to be a more polished product for the PX3 (some people reported isues with TWRP)
3. ...
4. ?
Thank you guys, and special thanks to Pnin! I have now decided to use OF as a recovery! Unfortunately the whole thing is a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. The problem: my pc doesn't recognize the phone! When I enter the adb command "adb devices", the x3 is not displayed ?! Any ideas?! Thanks in advance!!
drivers, drivers, drivers, check your device manager in windows, if there is an unrecognized device while your phone is connected to pc/notebook, that's the problem you need to solve
thanks jeryll, I feel a little stupid right now because I can't do it! there are dozens of sites offering drivers for the poco (i don't want to post any here). do you or someone have a link ?! it is a simple exe file right? !! sorry i'm a bit ashamed but i really have problems with that!

this simply tells you that adb deamon is starting, because it was not running before...
check your device manager after you connect your phone to pc/notebook and look for this (picture is just an example)

if you see yellow triangle somewhere after you connect your phone and it was not there before, that means you don't have installed correct drivers
I need to know if you have installed recovery already, if not, you can not install it via adb, only via fastboot mode and your phone must be switched to fastboot mode (restart your phone and before it show initial screen hold volume down button until you see picture bellow)
with this on your phone screen connect your phone to your PC/notebook and check your device manager and look for devices with yellow triangle, if you see one you need to install correct driver for your device (for example try to start mipcsuite it *should* react and try to install correct drivers)
if you don't have yellow triangle in device manager try to type in cmd window
Code:
fastboot devices
if your phone is recognized you will see something like this
then you can continue with flashing orange fox recovery (download flashable zip with ofox recovery and extract recovery.img preferable to directory with fastboot app installed)
in cmd window type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot boot recovery recovery.img
if everything goes well after reboot you should be in orangefox recovery
WOW! this detailed description really helps me !!!! First of all: No, I haven't installed any recovery yet, I thought that could only be done via adb! Unfortunately, as you have described well, I see an orange triangle.
I have installed this mi-suite program but I cannot access the phone there either - it tells me that I have not installed any drivers, but does not give me the opportunity to do so ;-(
thx for your help greetings
H0rdak
people, i need help quickly! I don't know how, but I have now entered the "Poco-Recovery 3.0 mode" and have the option to select under Reboot / Wipe Data / Connect with Mi Assistance what should I do???

calm down, and choose Reboot (don't select Wipe data it will factory reset your device and you will loose eveything on your internal storage)
Pfewww .... everything is okay now Phone boots normally! Thx jeryll! no idea how that could happen. had a little flashback like with my Leeco; - /!
Okay, I think it depends on the drivers. All the pages I've looked at, however, only offer me strange drivers (like "POCO x3 Quallcomm driver" or things like that). Xiaomi's homepage doesn't offer any drivers at all - at least I can't find any there!
Jeryll, can you tell me what these drivers are called and where you can get them from? Many, many thanks in advance H0rdak
try this (untested, but looks legit)
