To get better battery backup
Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth Scanning in Location Sevices...
You can save 10% straight by turning off Location and turning off Background Data on Google Play Services
If u rooted ur phone and then
1.. install Greenify
2.. Add Background Running App (User App And Some System App "CAUTION")
2.. Flash Xposed Framework
3.. Enable Doze On the Go
I add 2 liitle root tips around doze (iam not Big fan of greenify)
MM doze is quite bad, improve it, inactive_to Will enable doze after 10 min (30 min default with mm and nougat), sensors wont prevent doze anymore :
adb shell settings put global device_idle_constants inactive_to=600000,sensing_to=0,locating_to=0,location_accuracy=20.0,motion_inactive_to=0,idle_after_inactive_to=0,idle_pending_to=120000,max_idle_pending_to=120000,idle_pending_factor=2.0,idle_to=1800000,max_idle_to=21600000,idle_factor=2.0,min_time_to_alarm=3600000,max_temp_app_whitelist_duration=300000,mms_temp_app_whitelist_duration=60000,sms_temp_app_whitelist_duration=20000
Doze googlePlayServices, by default it can't be dozed :
Go to /system/etc/sysconfig, find the filegoogle.xml and edit it :
<!-- <allow-in-power-save package="com.google.android.gms" /> -->

Great it's Working
For me Gov Tuner Project is number one in saving battery, especially with agressive doze.
u can also install gravitybox and enable smart network from there.i have option to have 3g (or 4g) ONLY when i have enabled data. When i turn off data,it automatically mode goes to only 2g for battery and lower radiation.there is also an option to dissable data when screen is off.there is also a widget for smart radio.
My battery life with Jio VoLTE
I advise Leandroid, available on the Play Store here.
It allow to switch 4G to 2G without internet data when the screen goes off, re-activate it during 1 minute every 60 minutes so as to sync your stuffs.
possibility to not reactivate 4G and data as long as device is not unlocked, so you can read the time or check notifications without unintentionally re-activating the connections.
Battery Temperature reaches to 45% During charging through Turbo Charger...
Plz help??
this is normal.in order to have longer battery life..(the heat is the reason that reduces battery life and not the quickcharger) I always put it the ground and it is cooling very much and my battery will live longer.
use squid kernel nd glassfish 1.2 script, dere ll b no heating problms aftr dat nd u ll get a great battery life

Are you on Stock or Custom ROM?
Custom ROMS usually have lots of problems with thermal control.

What about lags?
I often avoid to use that type of mods because I'm afraid of lags. With Optimus Kernel and optimus governor I reach 6h~ SoT with no lags at all...

If you have set the Phone to sync Photos, Update apps, download mails, or youtube offline content, then there is a chance.
In my case normal temp is mostly 35 Degrees indoors.
Pls try to keep the Battery Side Up, and Fan a/c running while charging...
I am sure being a pro, you might have already tried all these.:good:
Pls try charging with a Normal Motorola 1100 mAH charger as well

well, depends on what apps you freeze,it really help in saving battery in standby time, besides freezing and remove apps,'' greenify'' is nt bad,it help u freeze active apps but once u use ur apps,it unfreeze ur apps again, saving alot of battery.
my phone 's battery only consume 1% though out all night. Of course,u have to root first to get the advantage.ps: (i never use power saving mode, and display always set to automatic)

My phone consumes about 12% overnight (using 1 of 3 power saving modes) which is terrible! I will wait for Cyanogen or other Custom rom , until then i think it is not worth to have root without changing of rom. If you want please give me some advices to increase battery life (without root if it possible)

i don't know other ways to conserve battery without using root,i thk the basic(off wifi,2g,etc) u already know. just keep the background activity to the minimum. don't waste time on task killer or 3rd party battery saver, they are useless and consume more battery(in my experience)
Get the app BetterBatteryStats. Run it for a day, use your phone like you usually would. Next day, look at the stats the app gives you.
Also, read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676
I, too, had a mysterious battery drain problem and tried for days to pinpoint the culprit. Turned out to be the sd card. I reformatted the card and the drain was gone.

Best way to save battery drain is to be rooted dude.
Install cpu-no frills (or set cpu) and select maximun spped to 1,2 and minimum speed at 312Mhz in ondemand and cfg.
Choose your network mode at 2G
Brithness at minimum or a half an it's for sure that your phone will be 2 days longer

If you face problem with battery.. draining like hell..
then these tips are for you....
1. Battery Calibration
2. Control Apps
3. Device Setting
1. Battery Calibration
Don't use any application..
Just charge your battery till 100%.. (if stuck on 99% for long time.. no problem) just Restart your phone
without remove charger..Important
after restart (battery show 60 to 98%. leave it on charge again till 100% + 2 hrs. more
Then remove from charger & use phone until battery drain to 0% and switch-off itself
Don't recharge between 100 to 0%.. then try to restart at least 3 time.. to sure drain battery completely
now connect your phone to charger.. after 10 minutes start your phone.
but don't remove your charger till battery goes 100%...Important
(sometime it take more than 4-5 hrs. so better in night) When battery goes 100% ...now you done Calibration..
Technically..
on every restart Android reset Battery (by wipe battery status)
So.. on 100% Android make Maximum level - on 0% minimum level
P.S. Do this calibration on every ROM flash or at-least one time a month..
2. Control Apps
Some Application consume battery do much..
i.e. Facebook, Youtube, Maps, Whatsapp, Viber, Yahoo! Mail / Messenger, Skype, Hotmail.com, etc.
so when you don't use these apps (running in background) kill them from
setting > apps > RUNNING click on apps > Stop..
Better use Browser Bookmark instead applications
i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Outlook,
It help to save your RAM also..
3. Device Setting
lowest brightness..
lowest screen timeout
Close WiFi if no need
Close Data Conn. if no need.
Close Bluetooth if no need.
Close GPS if no need.
try to use dark backgrounds..
Try these tips then tell me how your battery work
Sorry for horrible & terrible English
wow

Also you can use, deep sleep battery (free or pro) to reduce the number of screen off wake ups.
this will help you to prolong the battery quite a fair bit.

1)As such GREENIFY is the best among all.
2) if u want to save battery while keeping wifi/mobile data on then use an xposed module DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER which constantly puts the device to deepsleep mode while screen off.During deepsleep mode, Wifi, 3G are turned off, background apps are stopped. Therefore, most apps are not working, including Facebook, Google Service, etc,. It then constantly wakes up in order to download email, sync Facebook status, etc,. It's defined by deepsleep frequency and woke up duration. In advanced mode (PRO), you can customize more parameters, including day/night settings, active period, screen timeout, sync strategy, ignored apps, etc.
3) If u want to save battery at the cost of performance (if a little low performance is not an issue for u then u can use SETCPU to low cpu frequency of ur phone hence saving battery and u can increase the frequency to normal while doing performance intensive tasks like gaming and multitasking.

First of all i am really sorry for my bad English
ROM
Dr. Ketan ROM l21 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519897
Applications
TW Launcher frozen with titanium backup both TW Home and TW easy mode.
Using Nova Laucher as my primary laucher.''
Usning SnapLock instead of Built in Lockscreen. (set Built in Locksreen to none from the setting).
Uninstall the useless or bloatware apps like group play, google now, g+ samsung store etc.
Greenify
Added all apps to greenify except WhatsApp, viber and Sayhi.
Setting
All air and motion functions are off.
Power saving mode on for 24 hr.
Brightness auto -5
Kernel
This is the important and main part to save more battery recently i found Pekaka kernel for my Note III. Their are many comments about drain and getting device too HOT.
So i decided to play with kernel setting. And install setcpu setting thats work for me like a charms.
So after flashing the kernel do worry about getting device too HOT even with Playing Heavy Games also i have attached the setting for the SetCpu... Match your setting below and let me know if this setting also work for you.
The first three setting are to cool down the device if the device gets to hot, it will automatically scale the processor down to allow it to cool.
The other four are to save battery while the screen is off. This will lock the CPU between these lower frequencies when the screen is off, using less mv, resulting in less battery usage.
Thanks to Dr.Ketan for such a wonderful ROM
Thanks to Pekaka for the Great Kernel for Lollipop
Thabks to the developer of SetCPU app.
Give it try and let me know by your comments if this setting work with you or not.

@satslu Usage over WiFi.
WiFi remain always ON in my device I'm mostly indoor user so never OFF the WiFi even not in Use.
Here. Is New Results according to which you can use Almost 8hours with screen On.
Because this result are estimated from 92% battery not from 100%.
Your screen on time is quite impressive. I was on L21 up until the last few weeks. It was much better than stock TW, but still not what I wanted. I was thinking about switching kernels, but ended up on cm12.1 and couldn't be happier. djmax81 is finishing up a kernel for it that should improve battery, and it is incredibly smooth, even compared to Dr. Ketan's rom.

Bought the XZs for almost one month. The battery performance seems not as good as expected. It seems even worser than my old phone, LG G2. I tried to change a new XZs and the same problem exists.
Phone Idle always take around 20% of the battery use. Stamina mode is one and 2-3% is gone even the phone is not in use. The same issue even happened in safe mode. And fast charge is not fast at all...
Googled some posts and found that some people, XZ users, experienced the same issue. I have tried uninstalled Facebook and Messenger. Seems not help.
Just downloaded betterbatterystat, I hope can find some cues there later. But if anyone can advice why
You installed betterbatterystats? That requires root right? Which isn't available yet I believe... Guess we'll have to wait for root to investigate this
Seems like this is Android 7.1.1 Nougat's problem.. Is it the Android OS percentage is very high in the battery usage list? Many Nexus devices also having this problem.. I don't think there's a recovery for keyaki, but maybe you can flash xz recovery, it's the same hardware.
But I'm not sure at all so prepare ftf to repair
Hey guys, after some researches and testings, seems like my XZs is having good battery life now. What I did was go to Chrome > Settings > Site Settings > turn off the Background Sync option. Now my latest full charge gives me 2hrs 43mins SOT with 49% battery left, with 1 hr gaming. Hope this helps, good luck everyone

I've been using Xperia XZs HK version for about 2 weeks.
I use an app call "Brevent" to keep background apps in standby mode when they're not active.
I think there're also some issue with Doze mode on Xperia phones, it drains battery more than I thought......
Then I found an app call "Force Doze" to force it go straight in Doze mode while I shut the screen off.
Now it only cause 1% per hour while I shut the screen off and leave WiFi or LTE on.
Or 1% per six hour while I shut screen off and keep the phone in Airplane Mode(very useful at night).
By the way, both "Brevent" and "Force Doze" does not require ROOT, but they need adb for authorizing their activities.

No, it doesn't.
Brevent only kills process and prevent them from running in background while you have already swiped the app from "recent apps". It does not affect background activities of apps which are currently in "recent apps".
For those apps which requires sync service (for example, "Gmail"), you can set them to "allow sync" in Brevent.
Then these apps would be allow to sync in background periodically, instead of allowing them all the time.

cool, it really helps a lot during screen off! it just took 1 % when i wake up.
I do not have the Problem. All sync enabled, Bluetooth on, really much apps installed. At end of day 37% remaining. Its impressive. 41.2.A.0.219.

I also have the same issues and the charging being terribly slow there also isnt any double tap to wake screen so i cant turn on the screen to look at the time comfortably without unlocking the phone
Seems like the doze is not working well
