This usual suspect is constantly asking for superuser access......even though it isn't even installed and has been deleted on my rooted G5. Anyone know how this is possible? Is it still left over hidden somewhere ? I don't get it. Anyone else have this issue? I think it may be hurting my battery too if its asking for access that much
Use Titanium Backup or App Freezer to disable it. Then reboot. It won't come back.

anyone else have this issue.
EVERY time i end a phone call it goes to my lock screen and when i unlock instead of going to my desktop it goes to my data menu (2g-3g, wifi etc).
doesnt hurt anything but it is annoying as hell.
anyone else have this issue and know what it is.
I am running stock rooted, with a few diff apps and widgets that may affect things but cant be sure.
thanks
I'm on stock rooted and I don't have that problem at all.
Try to trace back the last time it acted normal and find out what did you do afterwards (installing new apps, changing setting and so on)
Like the GoSMS problem recently where calls were routed to the speaker...
yea i was trying to fig that out. It might be my data widget messing it up. I have no proof and hope its not but i may have to remove it to see if it helps.
well i uninstalled most of my recent apps and removed he widgets but that didnt solve it.
might have to restore AGAIN. doesnt affect anything but its annoying as hell.
My MT4GS has some serious RAM issues. I even think it may have leaky or bad RAM. Basically, Android will close background apps to make room to run new apps, right? So here's what mine does: When I load an app, Sense closes. And when I try and play games like Draw Something which require a second app (FB mobile) to log in, it closes Sense AND Draw Something. So I'll tap Draw Something, it'll load, then switch to FB Mobile, log in, then switch back to Draw Something but because it closed Draw Something it has to start loading from scratch, requiring a new log in, then when it does that it closes Draw Something again. It basically creates an infinite loop, if I let it run without hitting back (several times) or home. And then I get to wait for Sense again.
I've tried third party RAM apps and they don't seem to help. (I don't understand how they could anyway.) So I'm hoping someone has a solution outside of rooting.
But if not, I've never rooted a device of any kind before. So I'm really apprehensive to try it without detailed knowledge of every step required. And if I rooted, I'd probably want a new ROM, yes? I've heard Bulletproof is nice, but I don't know a lot about others.
All help is appreciated. Thank you.
Rooting is no big deal. We could have you rooted in 15 minutes. I believe achieving "S-Off" is what you're trying to avoid......even though it's not too bad either. But it sounds like you may have used up any swap file your system has & could stand a bit more. Probably installed quite a few apps that are running in the background. You could probably reformat your SD Card to Ext4 and get rid of the issue but you'll need a custom recovery. That's how it sounds to me anyway.

I do have a few background apps, but I've tried to avoid a ton and I only have one widget running.
I'm willing to do what I need to to get my phone working the way it was intended.

Ouutside of root...factory reset and watch what you install...there's little chance for a permanent fix outside of root though...inside root...or once your rooted...use es task manager and es startup manager...my mytouch was doing something very similas until rooted...also the v6 super charger will definitely help once your rooted...

If you root (Very easy to HBOOT unlock, flash recovery, flash root if you use the Toolkit in the development forum) then you can check out an app like Greenify maybe.
try the app "fast reboot" by great bytes software. Been using it since i got a doubleshot, it really helps.
I've done all of the above and flashed miktouch. It's much faster. Ands I'm giving fast reboot a go.

What setting button?
And which rom?
I had never heard this issue before some users are reporting such issue that my settings app is gone because android showing its a harmful app just like miexplorer actually its not harmful but android security system showing its harmful and asking about to unistall it. Like the same i think android setting is an inbuilt application so its asking about to disable it and if someone done that then its getting invisible.

I have the same problem.
Would someone tell me solution?

I have backed up all my files and went to 33R.
Seems Google settings is seeing 'Settings'' as harmful??
So I used Kingo Root to root and Myandroidtools to look at the shut down apps to restore it. A must have to root to fix this.
And also these functions will prevent future notifications.
sorted so can be locked.
Hi.
In my Dev settings, if i turn on the USB Debugging, i notice that it switches off immediately as soon as I move to another app or I go back to launcher.
This is quite strange and a lot annoying, because I cannot use properly Titanium backup.
If I back up apps, then when I try to restore them, Titanium goes in a continuous loop and I am forced to stop it or it will stay forever in that situation.
I read in some forums this is the most probable cause, but i would like to know if someone is experiencing the same....
At the same time, a warning when i open the app tells that the "Mount namespace separation" in SuperSU could affect Titanium too...
Ah, and the uninstalling feature (in titanium) is not working properly too: apps are not uninstalled properly and I have to do it with the system app.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
nobody has this issue or something similar?
I have exactly the same problem. Is there a solution for this?
It works for my friend though.
Is the information here safe to be used for removing bloatware on my 8T?

This isn't really removing, more hiding from the main user those apps, thus making them not start. But the apks are still here, and after a reset the apps will be there again.
This is totally safe tho, and it's a great way to get rid of them if you don't reset every 2 days, so feel free to try
i just tried using titanium backup paid version to freeze some apps. it still works. you won't see the apps in the drawer until you defrost them again.
issuing those adb commands will modify system settings, so it might be a pita to get updates after you do that. you'll have to remember which apps you deleted and reinstall them again. i could be wrong and this might be a non-issue, i just remember earlier days and modifying system data and then having to make sure all the stock apps were still there to take an ota.
ADB will not stop OTA's from taking place unless you uninstall/disable something relevant to the app that is needed to search/find/download/install the said OTA. After the OTA is applied the apps you uninstalled/disabled (whichever worked) will not come back. As mentioned, using ADB itself without root does not really uninstall them like you think it does. They're still there. So although an OTA will not show them to still be there, a factory reset will bring them back. So the only real way to completely uninstall bloat is to have root. But even then a factory reset will bring them back because they are built in to the native OS.

Disabling the app is just as good as removing it completely. There isn't really any reason to delete the apps like this (if no uninstall option exists) because once they're disabled they will not run.
I know people have a fascination with deleting system apps, but it's not like you can free up space this way.
Factory reset should bring them back. But this is safer for the integrity of the firmware.
Freezing system apps that do not have the disable option (with TB) is always preferred over deleting them, in my opinion.
Ultimately, you can always save yourself by using the MSM tool to restore.
