Hello everyone, does anyone know how to increase the sound on the pixel xl? It is still soft even with the volume on max. Is there possibly a app out there that would do this automatically?
Also in regards to screen rotation, i can't get the screen to rotate 180, where the charge plug is at the top, this would make it beneficial to using when plugged in. It rotates in either landscape position but not, the other way in portrait position. I am not rooted or anything like that, i usually do root my phone's but would like to keep this just the way it is. This phone is awesome, only 2 caveats i have about this phone. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Are the buttons supposed to light up? Mine don't. Is this normal?
They light up on mine.
It does look like it is controlled by the light sensor.

More specifically only in certain light conditions. The buttons rely on the light sensor to tell them when to light up.

They do light up in low light conditions. Atleast they do on my HOS.

Any way of stopping them lighting at night? Reason I ask is I use Gentle Alarm and when 'Night Display' is enabled they will remain on even when in Night Display mode I press the power button off then on and they still come on? Not had the problem on other phones.

There should be an app in the market or online called led hack to disable them

Don't think it's on the market these days? I have found a copy but need to be rooted - but thanks for suggestion. I'll root at some point but my One S may need to be returned as currently in discussions with HTC over mobile network reception.
Do you guys also think brightness level of the three capacitive button below the screen is too high? That causes the light leaks that is referred to here. especially at night, they look kind of annoying to my eyes. Is there a way to come up with a MOD to lower their brightness? Or it has to be changed at kernel level?
If so maybe we can post this to htcdev forums and ask HTC to do something about this.
I'd like to be able to turn them off completely. Annoying when watching videos at night. If solves the light leaks even better.

Adjbrightness . On Google Play, need root.
will this improve batter life a little?

Awesome man. Turned mine off permanently.
Tip. Some reviews complain about the app having too many permissions. If you uninstall after making the changes, the settings maintain. We'll see if they remain after a reboot.

Probably not in any huge way unless you use the phone a lot in dark places.
For me, I prefer them off. Watching videos at night is much better and I no longer have the light bleed at the bottom corners

How do you turn it off permanently, mine does return after locking the screen.
In the options menu there is an option to force the button backkight off.
Btw- if you uninstall the app, the lights will return after a reboot. Have not tested with the app installed plus reboot.

Thanks man, did that but it return backs to normal after reboot. But anyway I am happy that the light leak is gone.
BTW, thanks the op for bringing this thread

If we can find the file that this app modifies, maybe we can make it more permanent. Unless that file reverts to stock after a reboot as well.

That would be possible. I really hope a dev looks into this, want to get rid of the annoying light leak forever

So my phone has a burn in at the top of the screen and on white screen like a browser there is a blue bar. Its faint. Should I go to best buy mobile to get a replacement or use my warranty. Or does anybody have a fix

Anybody?

There's no way to fix it if it's really screen burn in. Use any warranty you have.

Might go to best buy...they'll give me a new phone.

I've been using Extended Controls for a long time but alas development seems to have stalled and it has critical issues. Stay Awake while Charging being forever switched on and Auto Lock not working are huge show stoppers for me. Does anyone know any alternatives? This is for the homescreen rather than the Notification Area.

Have a LED anywhere?

Apparently there's an LED that only lights when the battery is too low to power up. I've never seen it.

if you have to have it (I like the active notifications better), you can use the xposed module Gravity Box to cause the buttons to flash with notifications. I'm sure there's other options that do the same though, but you run the risk of losing battery a lot faster (hence the purpose of active notifications)
There's an led on the back that's used with the camera....

I like this answer, and I appreciate it. I also like the fact that you were not rude even though you were really thinking deep down inside that I was too ****ing stupid to know that there was an LED on the back for the camera. :sly:
