I haven't had it happen to this HTC device but when I had the evo 3d. 4g and 3g would shut off constantly during YouTube and any videos. Also had it with the HTC inspire but never knew why.

Big Time problems! It started a week ago where I lost data and was advised by Rogers techs to "Try" a bunch of things and was told to do a "Factory Data Reset". I hated to but they said it was the thing they knew to try. Did it and got data backi for a few days and now I have NO Service and can't connect at all. They are sending new phone and will be here hopefully tomorrow.
It's 4 g lte and never switches and when I look at data it just said connecting and when put in and out of airplane mode it said connected and then works

I guess I'll wait till the ota update and if that doesn't fix it I'll exchange for another one

I think i had this problem, lost all data connectivity until i either restarted or toggled airplane mode.
My sim didn't look like it was correctly installed because the tray was protruding a little bit. I removed the sim tray and messed with the card a bit, it looks like it fits better and i haven't had a problem in 2 days.
Battery has also been better since then, hope this helps if we're having the same problem.
I'll try it thanks

Funny thing since I have been home my phone has been at ten percent for 2 and a half hours and just dropped to nine percent don't know what's up with that I'm gonna let it get to one then recharge
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
And no data issue maybe it's just were I work

It's not just you. My phone did this a few times while I was at school. At first I thought I just lost connection cuz I get crappy reception anyway but after a whilr I noticed it wasn't reconnecting so I restarted and it turned on again. It happened 3 times while at school. 0 at home.
I've only had it for about 24 hours so I'll let you know if it happens again

Happened to me today too. A quick airplane mode fixes it But if it starts happening all the time then ill be pissed.
Sounds like a trend lovely

Check out connection checker in the play store. Makes this issue a little more easy to cope with.

I have the One X with AT&T. I have not had any issues with data so far. But did have an issue with my WiFi.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I've had that issue twice in the last three hours. Is it a hardware or network issue? Starting to grind my gears.

Not sure now at work and no issues now

I took mine and got the simcard switched out. The....ahem...nice person at the att store said my phone could be going bad and suggested if this happens again to switch it out. I love the way they train their people.
Lol indeed

Battery hasn't been lasting as long recently, only getting about 2 hours of screen on time... Can anyone tell what this is using up my battery? Thanks :/
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
what was your talk time and how was the service where you were located. Talking draws almost as much battery as the screen, so if you were on the phone for an hour or so it would likely be equivalent.
1 hr 15min

Do a hard reset and charge the phone up fully before using it. If that doesn't work exchange it for a new one.
Also make sure all haptic feedback is turned off. When you aren't using data for several hours make sure to turn that off as well, especially if you are in an LTE area.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Does haptic feedback really affect battery that much? I wish there was an lte toggle
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Tooany variables affect it.
- Do you set screen brightness to the highest?
- Do you live in an area with patchy signals?
- What was included in 2 hour screen time?
When surfing on WiFi with 40% brightness, I lose about 1% current in about 3.5 - 4 min. If that is the range than yours might be fine or mine is also screwed up.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
I have brightness on auto, and most time is spent on twitter, xda, Facebook, Web browsing, text, email.

I would also run battery drain test from one of the HTC utilities. On mine, the battery went from 100% to 91% in an hour. Did anyone else here performed it and could please share their numbers?

I've noticed an improvement once I turned it off. Think about it: every time you tap the screen a small motor in the phone has to fire up and vibrate.

There is no way to turn LTE off on this phone. I personally tried all suggested methods on another thread. None of them work.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
doesn't seem to abnormal to me...2 hours screen time with over an hour talk time is pretty decent over a full day. My only gripe would be to turn brightness down to about 20% unless you are needing to use your phone outside all day. it is more than sufficient and your eyes get used to it quickly. saves a ton of battery.
I am getting anywhere between 2:30-3:30 screen time with about a half hour of talk time. so many variables its hard to nail down, but try out what ppl have suggested. I also turned off haptic feedback the moment I got the phone. check how many apps you have syncing as well. that can eat up battery especially with bad coverage.
good luck
Luckily I'm in a non lte area. Avg 4 hours of screen time. Battery lasts me a couple of days, but I don't use my phone much. When custom roms hit there will be a lte on/off switch.

Google around for HSPA+ only APNs for AT&T. When you enter them, be sure to put an asterisk in the "APN Type" field, otherwise the phone won't let you select that APN set.
That's how I got LTE to shut off on my phone.

I tried a couple of APN settings but, none worked. Wondering if you could plz share the screenshot.
Edit:
I tried the APN setting suggested in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652705&page=3
and it seems to be working so far.
Though, it should be noted with the S4 chipset that turning off LTE doesn't net you as much battery life as it used to. Though it does help with the network drops if you experience them. (I have.)
In response to the thread, though: My battery life has jumped the shark since updating to 1.85. Like, I was getting close to 17 hours mixed-use before my phone was in the red. Now, I'm lucky to get 8. I'm running it through a few more charge cycles just to make sure, but it seems pretty nasty.
EDIT: Screenshots:
Before: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4940279/images/before.jpg (1.73)
After: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4940279/images/after.jpg (1.85)
Notice I had to charge the phone halfway into the 8 hours just to keep it from dropping completely.

After going to 1.85 I too have been losing battery fast.

I must be doing something wrong since my OS takes 35% of the battery life while my screen only takes 16% :/
Here's mine on idle just idle. No background apps running etc
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I have been getting pretty bad battery life. Starting at 60% battery I watch a YouTube video for 7 min and browse web for 2 min. Then my battery is at 40%. I am running cleanrom 2.4 btw with no dual core mod. Also after the 7 min of YouTube the portion right under the camera got really hot, even hotter than my atrix 4g. Is it just a bad flash? As I have heard some people that after relocking ruu then unlocking that battery issues have been fixed.

One thing to add, I am still on my first charge cycle after getting the phone. Should I run it dry first and see?

My phone runs hot when using GPS navigation after a few minutes...so hot that I turned off GPS for few minutes...so its probably a combination of both the ROM and the phone runs hot anyway under certain conditions (in my case anyways).
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I don't have GPS enabled nor autosync. But interestingly I rebooted and killed all apps in recent apps menu and watching video remained only the slightest bit warm, perhaps only warm because of.my hands. Hmmm, this leads me to believe that multitasking may have some memory leakage of some sort. As I did not run into this issue with previous android phones.

Let it run couple of charge cycles and see. Mine had the same issue but it went away after a couple of full charge cycles.

Anyone's vibrate feedback almost unnoticeable? Swapped my device because of connection issues (and update to 1.85 OOPS) and the vibrate feedback on this new one sucks. Pressing the home/back/multi task keys disappoints me every time. I know it's early in the dev phase but does anyone know a mod that can fix this? (Longer vibrate for feedback)
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
No mods yet as far as I know. I know go sms let's you change the vibrate frequency, length and pattern. Other then that, might be SOL. I never thought mine was very strong to begin with. I have since turned it off to save battery. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's worth it. I think lol.

Recently while I am using Slacker and I let the screen turn off, my phone does not stay awake so that the next song plays. It will go to sleep even though I have the app open. As soon as turn on my screen, the song loads. I can also see in my battery graph that the device wasn't awake.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this? I use an app called Elixr 2. I am on 1.85 and rooted
Sent from my AT&T HTC One X using XDA
Under Settings -> Display & Gestures, there is an option for 'Sleep'. Set it to 'Never turn off', and that should work.
But that would keep the screen on all the time which is not something I would want. If I am going for a walk I would want to put my phone in my pocket with the screen off
Sent from my AT&T HTC One X using XDA
Just did a test. It only happens when on wifi. Works as it should when I am not on wifi. I don't have my wifi set to sleep when screen is off

I'm having the same problem on my new Galaxy S III, which is also Ice Cream Sandwich. Never had this problem on my Epic 4G with Gingerbread.
The issue seems to have fixed itself for me
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
If you dont have a good signal this will happen.
A couple of suggestions is to uninstall the slacker app and re install it again.
After you have it in your phone again under the app settings turn off track preloading and go from there.
If it still happens and you have good signal lower the audio quality and see if it fixes the problem.
I have been playing cached content, but I have had a good signal.
