WIFI got crazy - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
For the past few days, my Galaxy s6 WIFI got crazy.
When I switch it on, it scan for networks, find some and the network it knows and connect to it.
but than, it keep scanning all the time.
meaning, all other networks are gone and I can see only the network that it connected to, after 2-3 sec it start to scan again while still connected.
showing 2-3 networks around, and than stop scanning and all of the networks are gone again (except the one it connected to), and after 2-3 sec, all over again.
In addition, if I try to switch it off, it looks like I can't - it keeps start and stop scanning all the time in a loop. like on and off, on and off - and in addition its killing my battery.
The only thing I managed to do is, when I clicked to switch it off, a sec before it got crazy there was a line there so I clicked on it and turned off the option of
letting apps to search for WIFI automatically.
This solve the switch off and on issue - so when I switch to off, its stays off.
I don't know how to get back to this screen (of letting or not to apps to search for WIFI) tough.
The first problem that it keeps scanning when on even if connected to a network - still can't find a solution for it.
I found someone with the same issue on a local forum, he did a factory reset and couldn't located the problem.
Can someone advise?
Thanks.

My WiFi Problem

I tried to resolve this problem for quite a while without success . I connect to a WiFi without problems by pressing radio button or through settings. Also I can disconnect without problems. But there is this thing: I am connected at my home lets say on WiFi and I go without turning off my WIFI to another place lets say work, and my phone won't connect to that WIFI automatically (radio button for WiFi is turned on). So I need to turn the button off and turn it on again and then it will connect, or I just go to settings for WiFi and it will start scanning and connect to WiFi immediately.
More about this behavior: if I am connected to WiFi and go out of range and then in a range of another spot lets say in 10-20 minutes my phone will connect automatically. If its longer period maybe 20 minutes or more it wont connect automatically when I get into range. Also I dont think that has something to do with phone getting to deep sleep, because this morning I was walking to my home and listening music all the time and when I got home my phone didnt connect automatically. Nothing. It just seems it stops scanning, also when this happens I am not notified about open networks when I get in range.
My WiFi setting is always set on always connected and this happens even when I flash new stock ROM. While ago when I flashed version 2.3.4 this wasnt a problem, now even when I flash that one I have this same problem. I also tried few different stock ROMS without success.
I know this is not a big deal but it is irritating and I would like to fix this, so please help
Check your wifi sleep policy.
Press menu in wifi settings and set it to 'never'

Wifi sleep policy is set that way already

[Q] Verizon Galaxy Note 10.1 Stuck in Half-Airplane Mode

I have been using tasker on my tablet for about 2 years now, and all of a sudden, for the last week or two, it has been acting differently. I have a tablet installed in the dash of my car and use tasker to turn off all radios (mobile network, wifi, bluetooth, etc..), turn off the screen, etc.. when the car turns off (no power), and then turn all of that stuff back on when the car starts (power). The problem is that all of a sudden, after a couple of on/offs of the car, if I use the airplane mode on/off, it gets stuck and I have to restart the device (basically, in the notification panel settings, the airplane mode is half lit up, like it is in the process of turning off/on). If I use the mobile network on/off, it will show that it is picking up the network, but I cannot connect to the internet (shows the bars are full, for instance, like it detects the network, but I can't access any data). Also, to go along with these two things, I used to, when leaving my car parked overnight, come back to maybe a couple percent loss of battery life... now, it is dropping significantly (probably 30+% or so each night).
Anyway, I have been searching around online for a while now and I cannot seem to find an answer anywhere. I installed a new SIM card from Verizon, have factory reset it, and nothing works. If I disable the cell data disconnect (either mobile network or airplane mode), when I come back, it shows the signal bars with a small "x" in it and no connection. Either way, only a restart fixes the connection.
Attached is a screenshot of my devices info if that helps as well as a picture of what the "half stuck" airplane mode looks like.
Any help/info is greatly appreciated... thank you!

Nexus 5 WIFI issue

Hello everyone,
I recently encountered an issue with my Nexus 5 that has been driving me crazy for the past couple days.
So basically I was streaming a video on you tube the other night, until my Nexus 5 froze up. My phone was taking way too long to respond, so I decided to hold the power button until the device shut off, and I held the power button again to turn it back on. (duh) As soon as it turned back on, I was no longer able to connect to my home WIFI. So now whenever I try to connect to our home WiFi, I get an "authentication error" and the WiFi network status just comes up as 'saved" instead of "connected". My mobile Data works fine, it's just my WiFi that isn't working anymore. Did I accidentally fry a component within my Device that allowed me to connect to a WiFi network? If there is a fix to this, please let me know ASAP! :crying:
'forget' your wifi network and put in the password again; should fix it.
Do other devices still connect to the same WiFi network?
Rebooted the router?
As above, also forget the network and re-enter the password.
For completeness, test the Nexus on different WiFi networks as well.
Very last resort should be factory reset if you can't get it to connect. If it doesn't connect on fully stock unmodified software, then you have a hardware problem.

WiFi cycling off and back on every so often, and sometimes disabling itself

Sometimes my WiFi goes away, LTE kicks in for a second, and then WiFi comes right back. I don't know for certain, but it may only happen when the phone has been unused for a while, right after I first pick it up to do something. But I have the WiFi power saving option turned off, so that WiFi should stay on all the time. And I seem to recall it happening just at random sometimes, too, in the middle of browsing websites or social media apps. It'll say "no connection" and I'll look up and see LTE kick in, then WiFi come right back, then I'm all good. It's very annoying.
On top of the quick WiFi cycling issue, sometimes WiFi will just completely stop working. When I go into settings, it says it's disabled and I can't turn it back on. Going in and out of airplane mode fixes it. This only happens about once a week or so. The other issue is by far more annoying.
Anyone else experiencing either of these? I'm on Verizon with a black 128 GB stock, unrooted, if it makes a difference.
Thanks!
I personally haven't seen this on my VZW Pixel although I use it with T-Mobile service. These are as suggestions only, and it may or may not help, but you could try using any order below.
1) The setting to keep WiFi during sleep is on, right?
2) Have you tried to use your phone without sim card in it and see if WiFi is still acting strange?
3) I would also suggest to go to Settings>Google>Networking and see if you have WiFi assistant on or off. There is a setting under advanced as well.
4) Does it happen on all WiFi networks or when using on particular one? You could forget that network and then join again.
5) Alternatively you could "Network settings reset" under Settings>More>Network Settings Reset - after the reset, you may need to rejoin all the networks, pair Bluetooth devices and so on.

WLAN Hotspot doesn't work on Android, looking for competent help

Hi,
I'm using a Sony Xperia Z5 Dual Android 7.0 facing that issue making me unable to use my WLAN hotspot (which it pretty anoying cause it doesn't only dissallow me to share my internet connection but also I can't do other network stuff between devices I'd use that hotspot for).
So when I try to turn on my the hotspot it simply turns itself off again after small amount of seconds. When I got to WLAN hotspot in settings then I have the active button to switch the hotspot on while it shows me tbat it's of at the moment. Doing that it says "Activating hotspot..." (pretty exactly that) until it's going off again with a quick "Deactivating hotspot" and you could activate it again but it will do nothing again than say "activating" and go off again. While it is "activating" it already shows the active hotspot icon in the top bar of the phone and the hotspot settings are as well already active and no more inactive greyed out. But only for nk idea, 3 seconds probably. Within that short period of time my laptop didn't find my phones hotspot but that might just be down to an to high delay in scanning and finding so I don't know wether it would shortly pop up seeable for other devices.
Earlier that day I had my hotspot working actively (nobody actually joined) but it worked and would have if somebody joined because that issues is not new to me on my phone and when the hotspot activates, then it also works. But half of the time it seems when I want to use it, it doesn't work. I haven't changed any settings inbetween or restarted my phone. It was probably on for one week, but after then trying a restart it still didn't help.
I already changing some one-click stuff like just turning out WLAN, turning off or on data save mode (which stops background data for all apps in mobile internet and WLANs marked as hotspots), turning off or on mobile data. But well, I don't know anything else and earlier it worked with all the same settings so what could be the problem behind that?? Besides that my phone always just works completely normally without any issues, WLAN always works without problems, only Bluetooth sometimes doesn't want to activate and then I see it active after some minutes or hours later, but that can always be fixed with a restart if I needed it instantly. If you just wait and it is active then tough, it is kinda awoken and works instantly then again shutting it off and on.
Phone is not rooted btw.
Ok long text, but please if you have any ideas tell me..
Greetings, HelpsToMes
