No, Google sells Type-C to Type-C ones but its out of stock right now
I'm fairly certain Apple's USB-C charger will work fine, but it's $49 without a cable.
Google's offering is cheaper, has two ports, plus a cable so I'd wait for that.

You want a charger compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 for the 6P. Quick charge allows charging at 5V, 9V and 12V. The charger will supply the voltage/amperage appropriate for the current charge level of the battery. Most older phone chargers are 5V and will work, but will not quick charge the phone. You can, however, us a Type C to Type C cable and charge your phone from a MacBook Pro Type C connector.

That's a misnomer for the QC2.0 stuff. The usb-c to usb-c charger is automatically going to work with 5v/3a charging without the need for QC enabled functionality. Actually, there is some debate as to whether or not QC2.0 will even work with this phone if you have a standard usb-a to usb-c connector on a QC2.0 usb-a port.

Yes, the Type C to Type C has nothing to do with QuickCharge. It is a USB standard.
However, QC 2.0 works now on dozens of phones with Type A to Type B (Micro USB 2.0) connectors. If you connect it to a PC USB 2.0 connector, you will only get 5V! In fact, I suspect that even my USB 3.0 ports on my Gigabyte P5-USB3 motherboard also only supplies 5V. You must have a charger port set up to supply the higher voltages. If you look at the Wall/Car chargers that are QC2.0 compliant they usually have 1 QC2.0 slot and 1 or more standard slots that will only supply 5V.
Interesting point is the iPhone 6s actually has Qualcom QC 2.0 built in, but not utilized by Apple. The supplied charger with 6s is underpowered and a 6s can be charged much more quickly with a higher amp charger like that for an iPad or Kindle Fire.

My Zenfone 2 had QC2 with an intel chip but ASUS called it quick charge with their 'boostmaster' charger but in reality it was just QC 2.0. Samsung calls it adaptive fast charging but its still QC2 etc....the Nexus likely doesn't support QC 2 because it requires a license as another member mentioned which would add to the overall cost

1. If you have a QC2.0 compliant charger and a QC2.0 compliant device, then QC2.0 will work regardless of the type of connector on the ends of the cable.
2. iPhone 6s has the capability for QC 2.0 built in, but can not do it because it is not utilized. However, you can provide higher amperage to the device at the same voltage than what the standard 6s charger supplies and hence, it will charge faster (not QC 2.0 though).

Understood, but there are plenty of threads debating what the actual volts/amps will be on the phone if you use A-to-C with QC2.0 chargers. According to the spec it is 15W (9V/1.8A or 5V/3A), correct?

It will get the voltage/amps determined by the charger. The 6P is not QC 2.0 CERTIFIED. Google didn't go for the pretty sticker.

You're arguing this in two different threads with multiple people trying to educate you on the power PIC controller interface. The chipset can handle the charging, but the actual usb power interface controller won't pass along those signals. It's not like applying a wire and getting charge -- there is a handshake that happens for the correct charging current and voltage to be applied.

Gotcha. The phone will identify the voltage requirement and the charger (assuming intelligent) will supply that voltage at it's rated amps. Actually, the default for all USB is 5V. If the charger does not get the handshake it will default to 5V. So a 5V/3A charger that is capable of multiple voltages will only supply 5V to such a device. Which is what the Google charger supplies. Most chargers will default to 5V and less than 3A however.
I will be interested in testing the Google charger and phone when I get it in my hands. The problem with charging is the change in resistance as the battery charges which is the point in multiple voltages. I like the new USB-Power Delivery setup, but there will be teething problem for early adoption.
On the adapter it says it is a switching charger and it says output = 5v or 9v

Yes it is safe, I'm using it without problems with other devices.
It is a switching power supply, so it should be safe to use it on any USB chargeable devices.
It is is safe. It only outputs 9V when it detects an official cable and a supported device. Even if u use a third party cable it will revert to 5V on the Honor 8. On other devices irrespective of the cable it will always output at 5V.

The requirement for the official cable is not true. I have just performed a test using the official (hw) charger and three different cables: the official (hw) which is 1m long, a 1m anker cable (link) and a 2m aukey cable (link). I also tested an old Motorola 1150mA charger with the official (hw) cable. See screenshots from the Ampere app.
In all the cases I was using the official charger, the double lightning appeared next to the battery icon (showing on the screenshots) indicating that fast charging is active. Both the official cable and the anker cable performed the same (I guess since they are of equal length), while the aukey cable dropped the charger performance but it was still quite high. Using the official cable with the 1.15A charger showed that it performs more or less nominally.
So, long story short: you can use 3rd party cables with the official charger and still get fast charge.

Does OnePlus 6 support charging over USB Power Delivery standard? I have a couple USB-PD chargers laying around from Google Pixel so I would like to know if I will be able to take advantage of the charging standard if I get the OnePlus 6.
I'm not a fan of every phone manufacturer introduces their own fast-charging method. Huawei has SuperCharge, Oppo has VOOC, OnePlus has DashCharge.
Thankfully, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 supports USB-PD which requires Snapdragon 845 CPU, which OnePlus 6 has onboard and Qualcomm's website also says that the OnePlus 6 supports QC4.0 so I assume the device would support USB Power Delivery standard too.
Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

Bump, same question
No this device doesn't support PD. They use their own proprietary charging of Dash Charge. It's almosy equivalent to VOOC charging by OPPO.
Is this also the case with OP 6T? I thought I read somewhere that the 6T supported USB PD ?
To qualify, yes you can plug your phone into a USB Type C PD charger and it will charge BUT it will only charge at the slower rate. It would be like plugging it into a regular slow charger. So if u want to charge your device slowly then sure use a PD charger, you just won't get the benefit of fast charge.

Basically, when the charger is unplugged, the adapter runs in 5V mode, which is safe and good. But when the tablet is connected, then it is upgraded to 9V mode. any USB devices connected with a splitter on the charger wire will receive 9V also! This near doubling of voltage could cause devices to be fried, so make sure your Huawei power adapter isn't powering any hubs!!

Most electronics with a USB port will only be rated for say 5v, or maybe 6v to allow for naughty USB power supplies. 9v is nearly double 5v, and on sensitive low-tech chargers, like resistive ones that charge 18650 or whatever, you could expose the battery to a much higher voltage than what it should have, which could cause an explosion or whatever. I used a fan since it should be able to handle the extra voltage quite happily.

There is not problem at all. Qualcomm charge technology and USB 3.1 do the same. The charger and the device negotiate what voltage they want to send the same power but less current (more efficient). You are not supposed to o what you did, it your fault and not from Huawei.

what I was getting at is that if you were to use a splitter, like I did, then be careful, as the voltage might raise. This is not a concern most of the time, but it's good to just be careful.
My OnePlus 5T and it's dash charging only works when these 3 conditions are satisfied:
Dash charger
Stock OnePlus lead
Nothing else plugged in
otherwise it will default down to normal. It's a shame that this didn't happen on the Huawei charger, but hopefully this means that it will be easier for implementation for powerbanks, I can't find any dash charge power banks. And also apparently Huawei phones usually play nice with other chargers. (USB-C power delivery I'm not sure on this device).

I am just annoyed that Huawei do not use QC or USB-PD standards and I must use their charge to charge fast. I do not mind the 9v as my QC devices charges fast on the Huawei charger but not the other way round, forcing me to either change all my chargers or carry an extra charger.
Not sure if you are talking about FCP for in or out of powerbank, I have a Tronsmart powerbank that supports both QC3 and FCP out. It also supports QC in, which means it MAY charge faster with the Huawei's stock charger. I had not tested it that way yet but I think it should as the Huawei charger charges my other QC devices at QC speed.

I know your trouble, I have a OP5t, and that charges at 7.5W from my Huawei charger, when it can charge at 20W using dash charger, my mediapad charges at 10W from the dash charger, out of 18w capability. I do look silly carrying round two chargers with the same plug on them!!
Yeah no dash charger power bank, at least there is a Huawei FCP one like you said, I might get that as my next one, but I've got a lovely EC technologies powerbank, and that only does 10W no matter what, shame really as it is 82whr (massive!).

Luckily (for me at least!), I do not normally carry my M5 around and therefore do not need quick charge on it. Even if taken on holiday, it can charge overnight in the hotel. However this put me off Huawei (and OnePlue, Oppo and any other brands that do not use QC standards) for my future purchase.
Wow, I didn't realize how bad this bites. MediaPad was my first QC3 device. Used it's charger in my bedroom. Then got a LG v35 QC3 phone last week to replace old Nexus 6P (USB C-PD). So excited to see the Huawei charger fast-charging both devices. So irritating to now realize that the LG QC3 charger won't fast charge the M5!
And Huawei is using a proprietary QC3 charging mechanism? ie. are there any compatible chargers on Amazon or only the charger from Huawei will fast charge the M5?

Sorry, Huawei does not use QC standards but their own FCP/SCP instead. QC chargers will not fast charge Huawei gear but Huawei charger MAY charge QC gear fast.
So if I plug my M5 into a standard QC3.0 charger (9v I think), does it at least charge somewhat faster than a standard, non-QC charger? I would assume so. And are they're any 3rd party fasxt chargers compatible w/Huawei's dumbarse proprietary QC3 charging?

No it doesn't, as confirmed by a V/A USB meter. It will only top out at 5V/2A.
I repeat again, Huawei does NOT use QC3 technology, but FCP/SCP technology. If you are looking for a charger that can do both QC and FCP from the same socket, read through the tread again as I had already posted a brand and model that had been tested and confirmed to do both.
Ah, sorry, me dumb and had in my head that M5 was QC3. Now I get it -- FCP, not same as QC3. OK, I see your link and several other chargers compatible w/QC3 and FCP. Thanks!

I had used USB PD adaptors on the M5 before and it charges fine, but not quickly.
My Pad (M5 10.8 WiFi) charges via USB PD with 18 Watts using the 9 Volt Profile. What doesn't work is Quick Charge. Power delivery works fine
Is there anything special about the actual Huawei furnished cable? I need a longer one than what was furnished.

Hello guys.
I cant get PD charging to properly work on my Find X2 Pro.
I have a 45W PD Powerbank, but it only charges very slowly (1% every 5 minutes). Only with the USB port I get decent speeds (w/o PD) (about 10W).
10W is still very slow I think, considering the not-so-great battery life in my experience. I am going to travel in the near future, and I need a good battery.
Does this phone support PD? What is the maximum speed it can charge with power adapters/powerbanks without VOOC?
Oppo uses its own proprietary charging system (super vooc) and not PD, I have also had very slow charging if I dont use the original brick and cable. maybe try using the charging cable they gave.

Oppo uses its own proprietary charging system (super vooc) and not PD, I have also had very slow charging if I dont use the original brick and cable. maybe try using the charging cable they gave.

Yes I know, but OnePlus phones for example also have VOOC but also support PD.
I tried every cable I have, the original cable is USB-A to USB-C so that one is not for PD. I get max 10W out of that cable from my PD powerbank.
i use Xiaomi 10000mah powerbank with QC2.0 onboard. And my Oppo chardging fast about 10-15% for 10.minutes.
