Hello
I have a problem with my acer a700.
It doesn't boot at all, it was ok before. It was on CM10.
Last thing i did was formating through recovery, then I did a restore from an old backup I had through recovery also.
But in the process of restoration it took too long on restoring cache and i mean too long so i shut it down by holding power button, then booted back to recovery but it it started acting strange didn't want to reset/format or restore at all.
Then all of sudden it turned off.
I thought of the battery but i inspected and it's charged.
Now it doesn't boot at all no light no vibration nothing, tried booting recovery and fastboot nothing and the reset button doesn't do anything.
Any ideas what to do? I have a small knowledge in electronics i can take it apart and test using a volt meter.
Any help?

I rooted my G2 about two months ago. I'm currently using MIUI, not the latest but the one before it. Somehow, my phone got turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, it was stuck in a bootloop. I have a custom recovery image so I don't know if that affects anything. I tried to reboot into recovery by pressing volume down and power, nothing happened. I then did volume up and power. It vibrated three times and the orange light started flashing. I pulled the battery and now when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. So how do I reboot into recovery and so I can restore my backup? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm selling my tablet and wanted to erase all my data.
So I used 7zipper and delete everything on my internal storage then I went to Backup & Restore option in settings. Then clicked on "Factory Reset". The PAC-MAN ROM resets and boots straight into CWM Touch with No options just a scrolling bar and Andy's Core spinning clockwise.
It took a while so I thought it was stuck, and held the power button to reset CWM touch. Then it reboots in the same scenario stuck. So I thought resetting into CWM Touch would be a breeze. Wrong! I hold the power button and volume down and does absolutely nothing. I can't get into bootloader and CWM Touch loads with no options just looping like its installing when its not.
Can someone please help me fix this? I'm desperate.
You didn't way how long "a while" is, but apparently you didn't let it finish. A factory reset is performed by the recovery, and as long as it isn't finished it will always restart when you reboot.
Hello!
I have a rooted XT1032 and as the 5.0 update is around the corner i thought i'd start from scratch so everything would be as smooth as possible. I backed up all my files and I commenced with the factory reset. The problem is that after turning off, my phone wants to enter CWM, but is not able and keeps on trying(i think this is due to the fact that the factory reset deleted some CWM files). I only see Andro for about half a second every 5-6 seconds.
Do you have any idea what i could do?
I tried pressing the power button and power+volume down, but nothing seems to work..
So i was playing with and i pressed the power button for 20 seconds and it came back to it's initial state. CLOSED

Factory reset is broken when rooted...simply flash your stock image
Cheers
So my nexus 5 was running android 6.0.1 July security update, and I flashed 4.4.4 factory image yesterday so that I can maybe root it more easily. However, after I flashed the ROM it got stuck on "four dots animation", so I left it for an overnight booting. It didn't boot up. I also cant access bootloader because when I press the Volume Up+Volume Down+Power button combination it just restarts the "four dots animation". My Nexus 5 now isn't recognized by my windows so i don't know what to do. If anyone has any idea please comment your suggestion.
Tnx in advance.

keep holding just Power+Volume Down, should work. If not, let it fully drain the battery, then plug it into wall charger for like 30 min, and unplug it. Only then press and hold Volumedown and power
Hopefully this is just a software issue because I had something similar to this before where it would bootloop at the Google logo and it turned out that I needs to get my power button replaced. Since yours has got past the Google logo tho and on to the animation, I'd imagine its just software and you should be able to fix it.
If you plug it into your PC while its off and it starts charging, you may be able to boot through to fastboot from there using the ADB & Fastboot Utility's on your computer, boot into recovery mode and swap the rom.
Best of luck!
If your phone is stuck at bootloop. Easy fix is to mount system/cache again. See the following guidefor whole procedure.
https://itechify.com/2016/04/01/fix-failed-mount-cache-invalid-argument/
Hard fix is to flash the ROM again.
I had the same issue, first method worked out for me.
Best of luck.
After unlocking the bootloader, does it re-lock when the phone is rebooted into fastboot? When unlocking the bootloader, does it only take a few seconds for the phone to wipe the data paritions? If the answer is yes to either question, the emmc chip is damaged and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Try flashing the older stock Google ROM image you can find and flash the userdata.img file last. Immediately after flashing userdata, use the physical buttons to boot into recovery and factory reset. If the factory reset can't mount or wipe the partitions, it's probably a hardware issue.
I am trying to repurpose an old Samsung P3100 series tablet. The device was taken out of service because the os was behaving erratically, so I went into TWRP and did a deep wipe in preparation for full reinstall.
As expected, it doesn't get past the splash screen when booting. - Just a black screen after that.
However, now I can't seem to get into recovery mode anymore! I can still hold down power and cycle between both battery charge modes as well as normal boot, so I'm not totally bricked. But when I try to hold down power+volume up, it does not enter recovery mode, but only goes to black screen as normal.
How does a person recover from this state? (Like I say, not completely dead, so it seems like there should be hope.)
Once you flashed TWRP tablet's default Recovery got erased. So you don't have to wonder that it doesn't work
