What phone should I switch to?

I'm currently using a Droid 3 on Page Plus's $30 plan. It's not a bad phone, but I want ICS.
I'm considering switching over to T-Mobile on their $30 1500 minute/30 MB, since I won't need much data due to the city wide Wi-Fi on my college campus. What phones would you recommend that are:
1. Under $200 on eBay (used)
2. Run ICS
3. At least a qHD display
T-Mobile actually has a deal today for an LG Optimus L9 for $200 + a $50 prepaid card. Are there any better phones on eBay for that price, or should I just buy that one?

I know u said under 200 but if you can get another 100 u can get a nexus 4 from the pay store. If u can't just search eBay for T-Mobile phones and put a max of 200. I'm sure there are better phones out there for your price point but just gotta keep searching

I did consider saving up for the Nexus 4, but I have a music library of about 32GB, so I don't think it would work for me.
Paying effectively $150 for that LG is mighty tempting I must say.

Keep searching and when you find a phone you may want u can watch a review of that device on YouTube and see if u like it

The LG Optimus L9 today is a very good buy at $200 + $50 prepaid card which you could easily flip on ebay for $40+.
However, if you look hard enough you might be able to score a used sensation or galaxy nexus, which have heavy dev support in comparison to the optimus.

After that i liked to buy an IPOD Touch 5 Generation
Two days back one of my friend suggested me to buy Galaxy Note 2 AT&T. It also cost $299
Now I am Currently live In India
Some Doubt Regard Galaxy Note 2 AT&T
- If I Switched On That Galaxy Note 2 At&T. Can I able to work as normal phone [Because i going to use only to hear songs and seeing videos]

That's an on-contract price, unlocked will set you back for around $650 (Rs 33000 approx) Sorry

On contract means you'll have to sign a contract of 1 or two years with AT&T and the monthly bill will be no less that $60 for that time, after the competion of the contract, the phone will be yours

As you all know the iPod has a load of apps, that's it, that's where apple kicks ass, but I would choose the note 2 over the iPod any day... I'm just sick of the ****ing iPod/iphone anything that begins with the letter I

Buying on-contract is similar to buying the phone with a postpaid connection + EMI here in India (like Reliance used to offer long back when they started - 500 rupees phones). Most of the cost of the phone might be split as pseudo-EMI's in your monthly postpaid bill and you can't cancel the connection for the contract period (usually 2 years). Since you've to buy the on-contract phone with a connection - you won't be able to buy that through bestbuy as that would require you to submit the documents and application for a new connection in US.
Apart from that, most of the on-contract phones can be used as an MID / media player, but given that you've to pay the bill for a connection every month, there is no reason you would want to use it without the connection
Your android alternates for ipod touch are Samsung Galaxy Player models / cheap locked or bad ESN smartphones from ebay (locked phones / bad ESN phones tend to cost lower because its difficult to make them work with phone calls & data, but since you won't be using the calls / data, that's a good option.)

It would be better to buy the iPod touch 5 since it is small and easy to carry. It even has a good camera, siri, etc. Also, it should fit your budget.( if u have a budget) And if u do buy the Note 2, don't buy At&t version; instead buy the unlocked one.

LOL I received mine yesterday and I totally agree.

I got some headphones in my tmobile one.There white tho

I have noticed this trend for the Note series in AT&T at least... my brother got the Note 2 and Note 3 from AT&T and they did not come with headphones. For some reason they are anti-head phones. Anyways, all T-Mobile Notes come with phones. (I have the T-Mobile Edge & work at T-Mobile).

I was bored today and called Samsdum and AT&T. The latter gave me a $50 credit on my bill lol

Got some really nice ones with my TMO device.....maybe should not blame Samsung, and instead AT&T.....just another way that company is milking its customers for more money

True, but Samsdum really does not have any customer service department and their tech support, well.........I trust my 10 year nephew's advise more than most on the "support" AT&T is a company that definitely does nothing without making a dime. As a consumer, bahhhhh

You're telling me that AT&T is not only charging the highest price (as of now) for the Edge ($946 off contract, $106 more than Sprint), but they're also NOT including the earbuds? What the actual <expletive>.

The buds cost $7.50. So they credit $10

I must be institutionalized by AT&T after 10 years and don't even expect earbuds! I prefer higher end ones anyway, so no biggie for me.

I'd agree with that. Would be happy to see a set of premium quality or say for example rebadged Ety's etc . That would be super. In fact really should be expected at this price point.
But if it's just going to be the usual junk, them better they just spare the environment, save their money and don't waste people's time.

While considering my Note Edge purchase, I saw a YouTube first look unboxing which helped me. It depends on whether you purchased it directly from a carrier (I have Sprint) or from a third party who gets it from Samsung. In Sprint's case, they repackage the Note Edge in their own box and remove the earphones. I got mine from Best Buy and it is the original Samsung box with earphones. I agree that carriers are pulling all kinds of tricks to up their bottom line. We pay enough for service without ripping us off on the small stuff as well!

If I were sitting on the fence, I'd probably jump in the opposite direction and get a Nexus 5x. Not a great deal of development going on for this device and you only have to look here on XDA to see that. Even more surprising that Motorola only appear to have released Android 6.0 for the device unless you live in Asia for some strange reason. I would have expected at least 6.01 to have been available by now for the rest of the world, especially when you consider that with a Nexus device you could be running Android 7 already.

A word of warning for T-Mobile/MetroPCS/MVNO* users: VOLTE has audio jitter that makes calls unbearable. The only known solution is to disable VOLTE. By doing this you loose band 12 LTE. This will affect your cell coverage in buildings and in the country. Moto has been aware of this for a while now and has no solution or ETA thus far.

This phone really has a lot going for it at the current price. I was going to get the Oneplus 3 but reading about LTE connection issues on att I passed.

Wow, if so then that is stupid, since they don't even show the projector on their motomod page.
Unfortunately there is no specific info listed for the offer. Usually the free projectors are fulfilled through Motorola. That is how I got my "free with z2" projector.
With all the free projector offers lately, I have to wonder if there is a Projector V2.0 coming sometime soon. Would be nice to have higher resolution on the projector.

It may be best to check it out in a Verizon store. I went in and found my local store had several projectors in stock, as well as a plethora of other Moto Mods. Be prepared though, if your not a Verizon customer, be prepared for a pushy salesperson. The person who sold me the mods were constantly asking me to switch, even after I said no.

If you didn't had the chance to get one, or for everybody outside the US:
a lot people from the US are selling their free 'Projector Mods' on ebay.com. I bought the 'Insta Share' Mod at 73€ (88$) - brand new and sealed. It took 2 Weeks to deliver and today it arrived. ...in Europe they cost around 300€

same here, since I'm in Europe I've bought one from ebay ~120$ with customs included, a bargain compared to the retail price over here.
