So I made sure to look it up but couldn't find anything so here I am.
Anyways I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (I747) rooted and running Slim OS, but I haven't done any mods or customizations in awhile. The battery was getting low so I, of course, plugged it in, but it was still dying, which isn't strange, it occasionally does that, so I just let it die. After awhile I turned it back on and it was on 6% and after awhile 5% now I thought it was strange since I wasn't doing anything too power demanding and my charger is a good charger, then at 2% the screen turned off and wouldn't turn and I even tried holding down the power button thinking it might've turned off but that didn't work, I left it charging and even took out the battery and that didn't work and then I noticed that the charging screen didn't even pop up whenever I plugged in the charger. Now fearing my phone is messed up I took out the SD card and put into my Samsung galaxy camera 2 and the battery started going down quicker than usual, it was at 58% and after like 10 minutes went down to 32% and then it shut off like my phone, but unlike my phone, my camera is unrooted running stock android. Please help
Or the SD card could be causing problems.

Quick update
So my camera turned back on and it now works, although I rooted it and now theres some problems, but this isn't the right section for that, but anyways, when I plug my phone up it does get warm unlike the first day, so I assume it is actually charging

Hi everyone, I appologize in advance if this has been posted and resolved, but I couldn't seem to find anything after numerous searches.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 that I have had for JUST over a year (i think June 30th) Everything has been fine, no problems and today I was on it, working fine and then all of a sudden it shut off and then started to reboot. Only when it powered back on, it showed the black SAMSUNG GALAXY SII powered by Tmobile start up screen, then went black, then the startup screen appeared again, then went black...repeat.
I did a battery pull for 2 minutes, same thing. Did a battery pull for 1 hour, same, I left it on the chargert for 4 hours and while on charger kept blinking on and off but now only the grey battery (even now off the charger)
It has never been rooted, or updated or anything like that. There is no water damage at all.
I have a wall charger for the battery only and an extra battery and have tried charging both batteries with that and still no luck.
I have also tried plugging it into my computer to see if it would boot up that way and nope. Still just the on and off dead battery, not even the startup screen.
HELP PLEASE!?
power shortage?
Has there been any kind of problems with your electric house system? that happened to me once, and it was due to a power problem at my house, it basically blew off my battery. Forget about battery pulls. Go to a store and ask them to lend you a battery for a second. If it powers on fine, it's the battery. If it doesn't i think you should get yourself a new phone, or try to get it fixed at the customer service. Sorry for the bad news man...
Nope, no problems with electricity, and neither of the 2 batteries will work!
Hi guys,
I recently ran into this problem after I woke one morning to my alarm clock blaring for about half an hour, the phone was pretty hot but not unbearably hot. I took out the battery and left the phone to cool down til trying to boot again, when I did the phone booted fine but it soon shut off again 5-10 seconds into loading into android. I assumed the heat knocked the charge out of the battery / something went wrong with the reading of the battery (as it read like 85%) so I just plugged it into the charger and left til it said it was full. It doesn't shut off by itself and works fine while on the charger regardless. But as soon as I unplug the phone dies within a few seconds. So I turned off the phone and let it charge overnight, woke again to the same issue and the battery reading 85% again. Before I booted back up though I tried the "Wipe Battery Stats" thing in CWM hoping that maybe it would fix it after I fully charged but it made no difference. Also I found that the phone is able to run off the charger when I severely underclock it to 250MHz but obviously it's too damn slow for every day use at that speed. As soon as I clocked it up to 480MHz it had the same issue again. I forgot to mention I was rooted with CWM, unlocked bootloader and on stock rom. After this I decided to revert to my pre-root back up rom from CWM and I still had the same issue.
The final thing that seems to make it work is removing the sim, I tried booting this morning without sim and the phone functions flawlessly even while under a heavy stress test without turning off. So I tried inserting another sim, this one not active. Issues start up again...
Any Ideas guys? Seems to me like if the phone is pulling "too much power" the phone auto shuts itself off. But then the SIM thing perplexes me, not really sure how it all affects.
Lastly, do you think I can still claim on my warranty? I've had this phone for just under a month and it's still in perfect condition... I really don't want to switch back to my chopped and screwed Motorola Flipout. But atleast that thing could handle the overheating pretty damn well. Also I didn't get this on contract I bought it outright from a reseller as a prepaid phone.
In the Netherlands, the warranty for a phone battery is set to six months by law, just contact HTC, and find out.

Looking for any help or guidance here. I searched the forums and have found limited info fitting my situation.
My S3 is rooted running Jelly Beans Build 15, today I was sitting here playing a game the phone was in use for a while so it was warm to the touch as it can normally become... mid game there was a slight flicker of the screen and it DIED.
Since then I can not get any power back. I pulled the battery, and tried to power up I get a vibe then nothing happens. I've tried to reboot into DL or recovery all it will do is vibe then nothing happens.
I plugged it into the charger and it will vibe, the LED doesn't come on, and the battery icon on the screen will flash on and off the screen, each time it appears there is a short vibe.. with all that the phone won't boot.
I've had it about a year. SO did it just sh!t the bed on it's own??

My first S3 did almost the same thing one day. My wife and I both got them on launch day and mine always seemed to run out of battery a bit faster than hers. One day, it got really warm in my pocket and the battery started draining out of control, it dropped 10% in a few minutes and just kept going until it was dead. Plugging it into USB to charge, it vibrated, I got the big battery icon on the screen, then reboot, vibe, icon, over and over again. I had to exchange it with Verizon.

Any chance you could get your hands on a different battery to try? I was in class once playing some dumb mini putt game some guys played next to me, and my phone just completely shut off. I couldn't get it to turn back on and at the time it turned off I had ~half battery. I got back to my room and put a different battery in it and it worked fine. I charged the battery that wouldn't work and it now works fine again. Not really sure what the problem is though...
But yeah. Find another battery to use to get it to boot back up
So the phone is alive and working. It seems there may have been an issue with the battery level and a bad reading. When the phone died it read 20%, I hooked it up to a usb power cable on my pc and work and it didn't work.
When I got home I plugged it into the OEM charger and it was showing the battery was essentially dead and charged the phone back up...
That's all that happened... strange but true

Then it didn;t brick itself..... it had help.
I think you have the same problem I did. When my phone completely dies and I plug it to the charger the battery charging icon goes on and off or if I get lucky stays on and charges it. But I put the same battery o. Another phone it charged instantly. I got a replacement from verizon.

So about 2 weeks ago, i rooted my phone and flashed over the nightly version of CWM. Ran fine for about a week, afterwards i noticed a big battery drain. Then started the freezes, and finally the random restarting. During this time, it would commonly get my battery percentage wrong( Ex: It would say 20% but then die. I would turn it back on and it would say 5. Take out the battery, put it back in, and it would say something like 12%.) Yesterday, i had about 20% left, and it just turns off. Wont turn back on. I get home, plug it up, and its in a charging screen boot loop. Plug in-Go to charging screen-Turn off-repeat. It will do that repeatedly, as long as it's plugged in. I've looked it up, and it looks like it's the SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome) and that Samsung can only fix it under warranty. The problem is, I didn't get this through a carrier contract, i bout it basically new online. Any help? Anyone have advice on how to fix it, or what to do?
Odin back to stock and see if it still happens.

Why are you double posting? You already posted this in the Q&A section, you're causing more work for moderators by doing this. Posting once is enough.

Let me lay down the story first:
It all started when I tried out multiROM for the LG G3. I was running cm12 perfectly fine, unlocked and everything. Amazing battery life. But MultiROM barely worked, even though I followed the instructions exactly, I had many errors trying to get anything to boot properly. I got help with it, but ended up getting rid of multirom via internal storage (where it was) and flashing a normal, non modified TWRP 2.8.4.0. This is where stuff starts getting weird.
After getting rid of multiROM and flashing cm12 again from backup, I noticed my phone wouldn't take a charge at all. It was booted up and running at about 30% battery. My PC wouldnt do anything when I plugged it into my computer, too. I thought it was just Cyan being weird, so I rebooted into twrp and tried plugging in. No buzz, still wouldn't take a charge. For some reason, turning the phone off and plugging in the charger while it was off actually turned it on. So the charging port has to be working, the phones just being weird... but then I decided to smell the charging port. Smells like pure burning electronics. I rebooted the phone with the cable plugged in, and it boots up and charges. This is odd, because i can no longer plug the cable in while the phone is on, i have to reboot it with the cable in now in order to get it to charge. I tried flashing back to stock ROM, and same exact issue happens. Not only that, but the battery no longer holds a charge for more than a day on one full charge. It lasts about 3-4 hours now.
Please, xdaers, help a brotha out. I'm really pissed about whatever the hell is happening to my G3. It still works fine, I just have to reboot it with the cable in in order to get it to charge at all and the battery life sucks on top of that.
Note: One time after all this happened, the phone died fully. Plugging the charger in, the battery logo was flashing on and off. I tried multiple cables and chargers with the same problem. I pulled out the battery with the cable still in, and the battery logo actually stayed on the screen and once I put the battery back in, it charged again. THIS IS MAJORLY CONFUSING and hard to explain so I will clarify my issue if you are confused with my post.
Also, the phone likes to get really hot and die fast by itself even without the charger plugged in now.
thanks guys

Good luck!
So you flashtooled back to stock? And still persists? If so you next option is to buy both a battery and a charging port and do some trouble shooting.

Don't know about the charging port, but as far as battery life I'm getting the same thing, except mine lasts about 2 hours, I've decided I'm selling the phone while its still worth a bit of money, probably getting a Note 2 or Xperia Z2, I've been very unhappy with this phone, also my battery cover is falling apart and cracking,

Well I've had none of your problems. Note 2 or z2 is a downgrade. Have fun with that... Sucks your experience hasn't been a good one. Cheers

I get 13+ hours with 4 to 5 hours screen on time and 1to 2 hours of talk time. So I don't think your battery issue is normal for this phone. You have either a defective battery or phone or an app that is misbehaving.
I'm having the exact same problem with LG G3.
Can only charge when rebooted. And even then the charge indicator does not show charging.
I have to go into setting->battery where it shows 'charging'
I have tried new battery and cleaning port.
Anyone figure this out...?
My battery drained very fast before too after backed up to stock, but after I upgraded to 5.0, my phone can lives up to next morning!
