replying to FB messages - Samsung Gear S3

hi guys. I had a gear fit2 and when i received a message from facebook messenger it allowed me to use a canned response or emojii from the fit2 to reply. On the S3 it will not allow me to respond to messenger texts with anything other than a thumbs up. Has anyone else experienced this yet and anyone know of a work around? (I'm assuming this may have been the same on the S2)
EDIT: Ok i figured out you have to hit the little 3 dot menu and then the Arrow and you can reply but it fails when i hit send. So still a bit of dilemma. This is on the classic.
Thanks
Erider

Damn. I didn't know you can't reply to Facebook messenger.

Yahoo Messenger

Hi. Please let me know after reading this question if I am in the wrong forum and which forum I may need to go to.
I have an AT&T Samsung Captivate Glide Android phone. I use Yahoo messenger alot on my phone. I would like to have a repeat notification sound if I get a message. Meaning if I get a yahoo message and I am away from the phone but come back to it in a bit BUT don't always check to see if I got a message there would be a repeat sound to let me know I missed a yahoo message. It will repeat every so ofter if I don't acknowlege it. Missed call reminder does not seem to work with a yahoo message from yahoo messenger. It works very well with missed calls and voice mails. I hope someone can help me. Thanks so much, Moncreations.

Stock Messaging is Horrendous. How I got Google Messenger on my S3

So I was told upon getting my new S3 Frontier (Sleek as hell btw) that if I want to be able to send and receive texts I have to go back to the stock text app on my samsung phone.
Much to my dismay I did. Within an hour my phone crawled to a halt. Switched back to Google Messenger (Long Live Google) and much to my surprise, even though it keeps telling me when I try to start a new text that I have to use the default text app, i can still view and send texts with Google Messenger as my default. When prompted that I need to switch, I simply hit the X and it takes me to the Message threads and I can still create or respond accordingly, albeit looking like the stock layout. In fact, when I receive texts, it displays GM's icon for the text and lets me reply with no hangups. It even displays group messages properly compared to the stock text app. If you reply via the notification, it then skins the message threads to Google Messenger. It still won't display pictures, but that really isn't a big deal nor would I really want to see pic messages (hey if you want to give us support for it I won't complain). All in all, it would seem the S3 has half-baked support, or GM has it baked in, for third party messengers to be used on the Gear.
So I'm not sure if this is intended or I somehow got lucky, But I just wanted to pass along this bit of information and wanted to ask if there is a way to fully integrate my GM app into my s3 somehow?

Thanks for posting that. I use hangouts and was in the same situation. I never tried to actually send a message because the app said I had to go back to stock messenger. It works perfect!

Disregard
Yes same with chompsms that I use and love so much. I was already calling to find out about returning it and freaking out. But when I power cycled the units, everything works. I use it mainly for replying to text so it works for me. Hopefully we get more support from some devs

Now all I need are some watch faces. I remember downloading a huge amount of faces but don't remember from where. It was for my old moto360
Am I missing something? Mine just tells me to check my phone (Pixel type)
Edit: Nvm, read S3

If you have an LTE version, then turn your watch network setting to always on.
Are you all getting notifications. I have the S3 with Galaxy9s. I can read the messages but get no notifications on the watch.

Check your battery optimization. I had to turn off optimization on my OnePlus 7 Pro, then rebooted. Now I get notifications on the watch.

Notifications

Hi everyone
I need help.
My phone is xiaomi redmi note 4x.
Is it possible to get, read and answer emails and other notifications from the watch?
And if one person sends me a lot of messages will it be able to see and read all of them (not only his name and number of that messages)?
Thanks!

I don't know if you can answer emails on the watch. I canNOT on mine but maybe I have not found a setting that allows it. But I can view emails although I believe that only the beginning of the email will show up but I do see some of the text. I see the name and some of the text. I can trigger a reply but it opens the appropriate app on my phone, not the watch. And you can see more than one. When I wake up and I look at the watch, I will see my gmail1 account with a message and a number under it, say 4. If I tap that "4" I can than scroll through the four emails. If there's email in my yahoo account, I can scroll over to it and again, there will be a number if there's more than one.

Yes. But I'm fairly new to the Gear S3. So I'm not sure of everything it can do. I do know that typing on it can be a bit hard on the small screen and with the "phone dialpad" keyboard. So replying to an email might be awkward. I have not tried any of the alternative keyboards.
Hopefully, someone else will have a more complete answer. Also, mine is a Bluetooth unit so it might be more limited that the standalone LTE versions.
I use a Frontier LTE that is remote connected (not BT) to a Samsung phone. I don't know how my experience differs from the BT only model.
There is a native Tizen email app on the watch. I can read and reply to emails without referring to the phone. Nevertheless, it's not practical to read complex emails on a 1" screen.
There is also a native messaging app. It keeps a threaded history of messages. This is applicable for messages sent to the watch's number. Notifications from the phone only show the last message received. Again, this can be replied to without the phone.

Not a native "Tizen" email app but a native "Samsung" email app it works only with the Samsung mail app on a Samsung phone. If you pair wit a no Samsung phone you have not this email app on the watch

New phone, cannot get text messages from 1 contact

Looking for some help. I just got a Nextbit Robin and only texted with a few people so far but I cannot receive text messages from my wife (the most important contact). I can get Picture messages from her but not plain text. She's not blocked that I can see. She's on a galaxy s8 plus and we both use At&t for carrier. It started when I got the Robin. Any ideas on what I can check or how to resolve? I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!
Check the Harassment filter setting of your message app. Both 'Numbers blacklist' and 'Keywords blacklist'.

I don't see those settings for my messaging app.
So today I got my replacement robin from nextbit. Saw something online about disabling wifi to get mms only my issue is sms. Disabled wifi and got a text from wife but that was one time and now its the same deal. Can get pics but no text only messages wifi on or off. Something to note I had omni briefly on my previous robin (which i had to send in because bottom speaker was busted) and all of it worked fine while I was on it. Switched back to stock and problem came back. Pulling my hair out with this.

Question Messenger notifications (single message)

Good evening, I have my gw4 connected with a mi 9 lite with no issues at all, but most of the time when I get the gw4 connected with my phone I only get notifications on the last message on Messenger (fb). I mean I cannot check the previous message from my wrist. I have to check them from the phone. This happens also on my phone notifications. But when I dc my gw4 notifications can collapse nice and easy and I can check all the messages from the notification center on my phone.
Can anyone help me on this one?
I have this issue only on Messenger.
Problem solved temporarily.
Topic closed.
Glad it's sorted, For others benefit how did you resolve?
Not a great idea, but I downloaded lite version, so I'm receiving notifications with no issues at all viewing all messages from the same person at once.
After all, I'm back with Facebook messenger app and still having that issue. Still receiving one single message at notifications when gw4 is connected.
Did anyone managed to fix this?
