Gallery showing EXPOSED BRIGHT images rather actual images as THUMBNAILS - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

software configuration: ONEPLUS ONE
DEVICE MODEL: A0001
including the ROM: 13.1.2-ZNH2KAS3P0-BACON
ANDROID VERSION: 6.0.1

Since last 10 days I have been experiencing some odd problem in which GALLERY of my oneplus one device, is not displaying thumbnails/ preview (of Albums, Camera, Screenshots, Whatsapp Video, Whatsall Images, Whatsapp Animated and videos ) rather, a bright exposed images are seen in their place.
From Settings> Storage> Cached Data have been cleared and tried but did not help. Any inputs will be appreciated.
I am new to this forum, and tried to post screenshot but somehow due to restrictions or absence of clip icon could not do so.

Okay..let's start with clearing thumbnails :
Go to es file explorer-> Settings-> Tick Show Hidden files-> Go to System Storage-> DCIM folder-> Delete .thumbnails folder.
Clear gallery app data, restart your device.
Hope it helps. Thanks

[Q] Live Wallpaper

This is my favourite CM11s wallpaper, its name is "Water":

}
Now that I am moving to an L based Rom I would like to keep this but I can only find it in CM11s roms.
How do I extract it from those roms and use it in Lollipop?
If you root your device and navigate to /system/app/ using a file Explorer you will see a list of all apps installed on your device, find the water.apk file for the love wallpaper and move it to your user storage or a pc, now install whatever rom you want and move the file you backed up back in to the system/app/ folder.
Hope that helps.

I tried that but there is no "water.apk"
Could it be that it is contained in: "liveWallpapers.apk" ?
Maybe, I uninstall live wallpapers whenever I do a fresh install so I couldn't say for sure.
Goto settings / apps
Scroll right to "all" apps, find the live wallpaper in the list of apps. Click on it to be taken to the app info page, below the app title there should be a package name. This is what the app should be called in your /system/app/ folder.
Hope that helps.

OK on my Lollipop Rom I deleted "Livewallpapers.apk" from the /system/app/ folder
I then installed a new livewallpapers.apk (the one from CM11S) as you would any normal app (I use Airdroid)
The funny thing is that the live wallpaper I wanted IS available now but I cannot find the "livewallpaper.apk" anywhere, and it does not show up in Airdroid.
If you installed it like you would any normal app, that's means it's installed as a user app, not a system app. The app file should be located in the following folder /data/app/.

Thanks, it is working fine on P40 pro
Just wanted to say thanks so much for this. You have been most helpful and this apk is much appreciated. Huawei please create a database for these things or your apps will never get off the ground!
Oh the link is there, have you managed to get it to work?
Here is the copy from my P40PRO+ ( attached)
it doesn't work on my emui 11.0.0 p40 pro (Security policy prohibits using Smart Remote). Any ideas, please?
Thanks albatli!! I tried so many and this is the only one that finally worked!!!

If you deleted by mistake, just restore it. It's a system app, all system apps can be restored.
Just pull down on home screen, it'll open search page.
Now search for the app you deleted, the app will show up, with a restore option at the side.
Now happily restore it.
I've attached a video, showing me restoring my ai space app.

I had the same problem with Play Store not being able to update certain applications are not downloading applications at all. I think it's system related and I don't really know what you can do about it but did you try reinstalling Play Store from ApkMirror?

Be very careful with that since you could lose applications you have moved to SD. That's a problem I had once.

A question about lineageOS's authorization-free app installation

today,i found a special phenomenon on my oneplus 8T with lineageOS.When i use OPPO's app store (as a user app) to download an app ,it installed it without root or any confirm (i have not seen the package insatller's user interface).I thought it may be a special interface designed by oneplus/OPPO and lineageOS's developers quoted it.However, when i try huawei's app gallery, it appeared again.I haven't granted huawei app gallery any special permission, but it could install an app for me without my authorization.other apps like file manager and download manager can launch the package installer and wait for my confirm when i open a apk file.I'm worried if virus could install something without my authorization.Could you please tell me why and if i could avoid it.(i'd appreciate it if you could forgive my mistakes in grammar.I'm not a native English speaker. )

Check under Settings --> Apps and Notifications --> Special App Access --> Install Unknown Apps. Also you can hit the dots at the top and choose show system. Anything out of the ordinary there?
Thanks for your reply. I thought that I found the reason. when I disabled lucky patcher's patch to Android magisk module, this problem was solved.
