A question about lineageOS's authorization-free app installation - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

today,i found a special phenomenon on my oneplus 8T with lineageOS.When i use OPPO's app store (as a user app) to download an app ,it installed it without root or any confirm (i have not seen the package insatller's user interface).I thought it may be a special interface designed by oneplus/OPPO and lineageOS's developers quoted it.However,when i try huawei's app gallery, it appeared again.I haven't granted huawei app gallery any special permission,but it could install an app for me without my authorization.other apps like file manager and download manager can launch the package installer and wait for my confirm when i open a apk file.I'm worried if virus could install something without my authorization.Could you please tell me why and if i could avoid it.(i'd appreciate it if you could forgive my mistakes in grammar.I'm not a native English speaker. )

Check under Settings --> Apps and Notifications --> Special App Access --> Install Unknown Apps. Also you can hit the dots at the top and choose show system. Anything out of the ordinary there?

Thanks for your reply. I thought that I found the reason. when I disabled lucky patcher's patch to Android magisk module, this problem was solved.

yes,hot reboot required your device to be rooted.
It would be nice to gave a tool that works this way without root - thinking more about htc flyer here.
"killall system_server" this is your hot reboot?
Yep, currently this is the method. After killing this service, the device will reload.
Do you have a good choice for this function?

I want help please

I encountered some problems in a bank application and I talked to a person and he sent me a file and he told me to put it in the MagSIC program, and after I put the file more than once, I did not find it in the program and this is the link to download the file. I want to be assured that this is not a hack https://magiskroot.net/md/Petnoire's_SafetyNet_Spoofer.zip
Magisk is a safe app when downloaded from the official site. Link <- official site. Most likely he was trying to tell you to use magisk to hide root from your bank app. If you didn't root your device and/or are unsure why it is or who did it, I strongly recommend you wipe the device to factory settings and change all your passwords
I just want to know if this add-on is malicious or not, because I put this add-on in the MagSIC app, and the add-on didn't show up for me in MagSIC

It appears to be clean according to the results I got on VirusTotal.
I just want an expert to make sure this add-on is nothing more than a hack

Welcome to XDA
Scan it online with Virustotal. There could be a new undefined malware still present... you don't want to be the one to "discover" it.
When in doubt... don't.

🤔 👉 Xiaomi Redmi's - com.miui.securitycenter and other spyware

On my donut MIUI phone which I continued to use for quite sometime after AT&T phone was messed up and the latter's warrenty wasnt quite honored the way I wanted it , I noticed strange things happened when i started using MIUI ( that would be since 2 months , before that I was on a Custom ROM that supposedly had a VoLTE fix , which never worked and pushed me to stock ) . Here are some of the ' ghosts' responsible for haunting my phone which otherwise seemed to have a fair build and hardware
-- MIUI cleaner --> status disabled -->
Q ? can I throw it out completely without bootloop
-- Booster - same as a
above
--com.miui.securitycenter
Here's another post I opened here on this. You cant throw it out . Q ? If you cant throw it out what can you do it make it in effective .
. Do we make changes in the boot image and how
All this is the remnant after I debloated MIUI safely much as I could
Am i just plain paranoid because this is a Chinese phone ? here's my A
It deleted my entire WhatsApp data folder /data/data/com.whatsapp . logcat gave me confirmation its some MIUI un-invited crap
It did the same to my Youtube folder
Later on it revoked all permissions i granted to a bunch of apps e.g. contacts and storage denied to Whatsapp and you could only see Phone #'s instead of names
Whats happening can someone explain ?
It erratically without any logic starts killing apps that are left to run in background. ( MIUI optimizations were turned off notwithstanding it all this happened )
It appears to 'inject' any app you install with facebook ad services
and yes this is an original stock ROM I d/l from official MI site
my phone is redmi 8a and this is MIUI 11.03x w/ TWRP & magisk

rofl ...you bet !!!..... you bet and you better ...haha
Lol, just use Adaway to block these trash from hosts. And I have AdGuard on my router also so I dont care this that much

This app might help. It shows the package name for both user apps and system apps. Mostly I'd say the package name will indicate where it came from, but some of the names you may have to google search to find it's 'identity'.

You can check it on a per app basis by looking at the App info. Long press the app's icon and click App Info. Somewhere around the bottom under Advanced you'll see an item "Store". FakeStore is Aurora, F-Droid is... well... F-Droid.

Also on Lineage (actually LOS 16.0). I'm personally using SD Maid by RD @Dark3n for this. Please refer to attached screenshots; the last ones are the essential ones.

If you go into the app details (long press the icon, press the Information symbol) and scroll to the bottom, it will tell you where the app was installed from. Of course this is only really helpful for looking at one app at a time.

APK Package Installer for rooted Android 11

Hi everyone.
I recently rooted my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (running MIUI 12) using Magisk.
Now I'm messing with a few things here and there and I really don't like the legacy package installer especially when I'm trying to make my own small apps.
Heres the default installer:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Apparently MIUI's package installer has too many securities and won't let me do as I please so I figured I could change it.
I tried "One Click Installer" but it doesn't seem to want to install things it hasn't backed up itself.
Also tried "Shizuku / Sui" but that also has restrictions and won't let me install an .apk ...
So, can you guys recommend any package installer (preferably root) that'll replace the legacy MIUI/Android installer ?

If you're rooted, you should just be able to push the apk file to system/app or data/data/app folder then boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache partition(do not factory reset) then reboot.
Simpleinstaller [ https:||awesomeopensource.com|project|solrudev|SimpleInstaller ]
Easy to use Android package installer wrapper leveraging Kotlin coroutines (API 16+)
I haven't tried this apk though.
