I'm going to access *#*#4636#*#* and trying to explore setting around there, and I open the radio band setting, in the "set radio band mode" it's just United States listed there and so I click on it, after selecting radio band to United States my phone can't connected to 3g/2g network. is there any solution?
edit: solved. Restore ROM to COS13.1 and access radio band setting and now there's three option "auto", "EU" and "US".I set it to auto and my mobile data working again.

I got a bad ESN on my d2g. Is it bad for global use?
I'm using a forgein simcard from Vodafone NL. but I can't get the mobile internet working. EDGE as wel as 3G and HSDPA doesn't work for me. I will test it with t-mobile NL this weekend. Is this because of the bad ESN or lack of UMTS radio bands?
Any suggestions?
Edit: I already tried a hard reset, sbf and custom rom. The APN is set correctly.
I called vodafone and went to the store but they couldn't help me there.
At *#*#4636#*#* -> phone information -> radio bands -> Only USA band shows up.
Tested with T-Mobile and it works. So going back to the vodafone store.
...try Hard reset, then set Network Mode to GSM\UMTS, and Select Network to Automatic.
For Better GSM signal Select Network to GSM Only. In GSM Only works only EDGE internet connection.
Already tried, but with no succes, thanks for the reply
Have you added the required APN configuration?
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk
well just so you know the ESN is only used on CDMA networks such as verizon, anything else would use the IMEI of the phone which is more of a international serial number so if the esn is bad it shouldn't matter because your network wouldn't even use the esn
I edited my TS, because I forgot to mention what I already tried

I have 9 options there, none of which says "USA band".
Here is the list I get:
WCDMA preferred
GSM only
WCDMA only
*GSM auto (PRL) (selected)
CDMA auto (RPL)
CDMA only
EvDo only
GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
Unknown
Also - this is called "Set preferred network type", not "radio bands". I don't see "radio bands" anywhere under 'phone information'.
Try to flash the 2.4.29 full SBF. This should reflash radio and everything. Also - 2.4.330 has crappier radio performance when it comes to GSM/UMTS part of the phone. I would recommend you to stay with 2.4.29 if you are not using the phone on Verizon's CDMA
I mean radio bands try *#*#4636#*#* -> phone information -> menu -> radio bands ->
Already tried that SBF I didn't know there was another.
I gave up on the network because mister not so nice at the counter of the vodafone store. He basically said, We don't have it in our system so we can't help you! I switched to KPN NL and I have 3G and HSDPA without a lot of fuzz.
I am using a UC-series ROM (recently UCKK4). It automatically selects band. It is not stable and is weak. I inspect the band selected for me: it is WCDMA 1900. Actually, the best band is GSM 850 in my area. When I use engineering mode *#2263# to select the band, I got "RAT Selection Option is Restricted!".
Do you know how to change RAT status? How to set the band to GSM 850?
Note: The method given in "Get Around "RAT SELECTION RESTRICTED" on i897 modems" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189241) is not recommended since it may burn SIM card (some users already pointed out this).
I bought my 1+ from the website and it was working on Wind's network (1700/2100 MHz) until just now. I flashed CM12 nightly and realized I couldn't make phone calls (data and WiFi were fine). So I followed a thread on XDA and changed my band to USA/Europe (*#*#4636#*#*), but none of these have 1700 or 2100 selected. Now, my phone won't detect Wind's network in Settings > Network Operators and data/SMS/voice won't work.
I tried many different modems (CM12, 44S, etc.) but it only shows Bell, Telus, Rogers on the network scan. Any ideas on how to get Wind back?
Update, here's my analysis (this is for CM12 nightly):
In the stock 44S ROM there was an option to choose "Auto" for GSM/UMTS band under the phone testing menu (open Phone, dial *#*#4636#*#*, click Phone Info). Auto lets the phone pick up frequencies that are not specified in the other 2 choices: USA and Europe, such as 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz.
If Europe or USA is chosen for the GSM/UMTS band, there is no way to go back to Auto and the phone is locked out of connecting to networks running on the 1700 and 2100 MHz frequencies, such as Wind Mobile in Canada and other AWS providers. This is urgent and the only way to fix it was to flash back to stock, choose Auto, and reflash later versions. Changing ROMs or modems did not work.
Does anyone else have a similar issue (you can check whether or not you have the Auto option in the testing menu) or is there a way to fix this that I'm oblivious to? I've raised a JIRA to Cyanogenmod.
I'm customer of the local carrier "Drei" (Hutchison) but my Pixel (bought in Germany) does not connect to the 4G / LTE network.
The support of Drei is not able to help me. LTE is working fine with the same SIM on the OnePlus One.
Any clue how to fix that?
There is regional problem I came across. In India here we dont have VOLTE support on pixel

What LTE bands do they use on Drei?
Same happen to me in Portugal with MEO. I can't seem to solve it. Talked with my carrier support, they don't know why I don't have 4G/LTE.
I never got 4G, but my SIMCard has no issues with iPhone getting 4G right away.
Is it Pixel issue? I start to think it is..
3/Drei is listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe#Commercial_deployments
The specs of the Pixel are listed here: https://madeby.google.com/phone/specs/
That is all information I have got.
Is there any possibility to display information about nearby LTE senders via an app?
After activating "LTE only" via *#*#4636#*#* it works. Everytime I search for networks or reboot my phone it still connects via 3G and switches back to "LTE UMTS auto (PRL)".
Seems to be a software issue.

I use the phone on Verizon and don't have any problems connecting to LTE using any available mode (Global, LTE/CDMA or LTE/GSM/UMTS). However, if I set the mode to LTE-only via the menu, it will also reset when I either reboot the phone or if I just open the "Cellular networks" menu. I think it's how it supposed to work because that menu doesn't have the LTE-only option, so it resets the mode to whatever you see there. The solution is simple - if you reboot the phone change the mode again and don't go to the "Cellular networks" menu
Regarding why it doesn't work with "LTE UMTS auto (PRL)", it might be because Drei didn't configure a handover from UMTS to LTE on the cell site you're connected to. It looks like Pixel finds UMTS signal first, but doesn't know that LTE signal exists due to a missing handover. Another phone might be fine if it searches for LTE signal first. But if you can see another phone switching from UMTS to LTE in the same spot, my theory is wrong.
Hi,
On my old Sony, I had something like "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" mode, so phone could successfully fall back to GSM when 3g/4g connection is weak.
Is there such an option for Pixel 3?
I've tried various settings from 4636 menu, but it looks like there is no such option. Even in "GSM auto (PRL)" or "Global auto" is still uses UMTS with -100...-110 dbm signal strength, while in "GSM only" there is -89dbm available.
Is there a settings or some adjustable through adb option, which allows GSM fallback?
I also could write an android app, in order to switch into GSM in some circumstances, if possible.
I've located in the eastern europe, if that matters, and LTE/WCDMA work best on my network, except in my office location.
