Hi,
Just wanted to ask, on Greenify without root, do I have to manually hibernate the apps by pressing hibernate all...
Or does the app do it automatically for me in the background?
Thanks!

Why don't you try that? If you open Auto Hibernate from Greenify settings, app will auto hibernate apps when you lock your device.
OK, but this option actually disable the fingerprint lock mechanism.
So I understand that I will have to do it manually?

I just bought the mentioned phone and I'm experiencing some weird problems on it. For example, I disabled most of the google apps by going to the App menu > Edit and disabled them by pressing the "minus" on the icon. Now if I want to re-enable them in Settings > Applications by going to the Disabled Apps section, pressing Enable and it gives me the option to DISABLE it again? WTF? Seems like I can't enable any app I disabled now..
The second thing is, it's more of a question really.. If I long press the home button, it only makes a short vibration and does nothing at all, is that normal or should something pop-up?
I mean really!? Ok, when you've pressed the enable toogle and the toggle becomes "disable" it means the app is already enabled and it gives you the option to disable it again.
Long press of the home button brings you to google now app, you must have disabled it.

I don't understand the bold text I quoted from you.. What do you mean? I clearly stated that I've disabled an app, and if I press to enable it, it offers me to disable it.. which is, already disabled?!?!?
Sorry for the misunderstanding but I don't get it how could I disable a already disabled app?!?

I mean when the button has the word "disable" on it. It means it's already running and app is ready for use.. Vice versa, if it has the word "enable" on the button.

???
I have DISABLED an app, therefore the app is DISABLED. If I want to enable it, the button there clearly says "Enable" but when I try to do that, I get a pop up as I was trying to disable it, which it already is.. Why don't you get it? xD

Ohh I get it now, if you've disabled it and the app is already updated, and you're trying to enable it again. Just click the pop up to disable it again, it just wants you to uninstall the updates and it reverts back to the apps factory version, and press the enable toggle again, the app will be enabled. You just have to reupdate the app again. In the touchwiz home you can directly disable an app but in the applications manager when you try to disable apps you have to uninstall the updates. Since disabling through the home launcher is just a shortcut.
Just touchwiz things.

It's normal, if you're not rooted. It's not really a bug, it's just a feature of touchwiz. My stock S5 and S4 has this, too.

Oh okay then.. I thought I got some faulty phone Any news on when is the ram management fix coming? Seems like my ram is staying at 80-90% at all times.. even when I'm not running any apps..
Also, do you recommend disabling the apps you don't use? For example I have disabled most of the google apps on there, since I'm not prone to use them..

Thanks m8, it worked
I am having the same problem with Google. Everyime I do the same, Google which acts as the home button closes. I haven't been able to find a fix.
I need SIP client to be always accessible, but SIP app stops registering after an hour or so (this is the app I use - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.nn.helios_mobile&hl=en).
On other family members phones (sony z3c, iphone) this app works without any problems, but my honor 8 seems to always kill this app (or somehow stop it from registering to sip server).
Is it just this app or is it honor 8 memory management problem? On EMUI 4.1 there was a function to add apps to protected apps list, but it's not available anymore.
Go to your App infos then click on Battery, you can then choose whether to keep this app running after the screen is locked or not.

"Close after screen locked" option for this app is OFF.
Or is there any other option I don't know about?

Hmm.. There is another option that automatically close excessively power-intensive apps. Check if that's off too.
(I can't remember where to find it on Nougat, I'm on MM now)

That's weird,
suppose this problem comes from RAM management, you can choose to prevent an app from being purged by clicking on a lock from the task management screen (it's right next to the X that closes an app).

Hello,
I am using Poco F2 Pro with official global rom 12.0.3. I am facing the following issue:
I have some apps with background processes but the background processes are automatically killed after some time. For example the tool 'Screenshot Touch' needs to run in the background so that I can select it in the menu to make screenshots. But it is killed after some hours.
In the battery optimization, I have already excluded this app. Also, I have disabled the 'MIUI Optimization' in the developer options.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thank you and best regards

Try to make this tweaks
1.In settings go to apps-find the app what you want and click on it-at battery saver select no restrictions -turn on autostart option
2.press the button to enter in recent apps- find your app-long tap on that app and press the lock
Personally i use this for notify for miband

Yeah, for now just lock all apps that you use often, that works most of the time until you open GCam or the stock cam then it goes to sh*t again, I hope they fix this soon.

Battery optimization is disabled. But I did not find the option allow automatic restart.

Thanks

even locking isn't enough sometimes, automatic restart(I don't use English ROM) or automatic start is what you need, it is there in app info page.
i will try!
Hello,
I'm writing about a problem with accessibility settings.
For example, I use applications such as Button Mapper and App volume control, which require accessibility ON.
In the application, I have set no restriction on the battery, and also autostart and in recent apps I have these apps locked. But if I kill all applications from recent - then the mentioned apps also stop working. I have to turn them on again and also enable accessibility again. I have been using these applications for a long time on different phones and there is no problem like this.
(I don't want to see these applications running in recent apps)
I use the latest xiaomi.eu ROM, but I had the same problem with the Global version.
Thanks for any help.
You can "lock" an app to prevent it from being killed.
Launch the app with the accessibility settings you want, display the apps currently running but instead of killing all apps click and hold on the one you want to keep. You should see a "lock" option here.
Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply, but I already have this apps locked in recent apps but not working.
Hmmm, that's weird, I have the same kind of issue using Macrodroid to automate some tasks, and they even advise in-app to follow that method to keep the required accessibility settings (method that isn't required on non-Xiaomi devices) and it does work.
What exactly is the issue, the apps still get killed even locked or do they just lose their settings?
Someone with better knowledge of MIUI might give a better answer ^^
I had the same problems and fixed them by disabling energy saving management and activated autostart.
