Hi everyone, is there an Ethernet adapter for note 10.1? or is there any simple solution to connect to a cable-only network?
For example some hotel doesn't have wifi in their rooms, only Ethernet cables, how can I connect my note 10.1 to internet?
Thank you in advance for your kind help

Get this : http://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Adap...7558228&sr=1-3&keywords=micro+usb+to+ethernet
And you will need this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-30-Pi...558291&sr=1-1&keywords=galaxy+tab+usb+adapter
Haven't tested the ethernet adapter but it got great reviews and say works
I use this, it works great!
www.amazon.com/Apple-Airport-Express-MB321LL-A/dp/B0015YJOK2
I use it as a wireless router only, I don't use the music functions.
It's a bit of a pain in the ass to set up. And whatever you do, don't accept any updates from Apple once you do get it setup. As is typical of Apple, in my experience, the software is not that easy to set up correctly. ( you have to set it up with a PC or Mac before you can use it.) They make manual setup very difficult by using non standard terms. Follow the automated set up procedure, it's very difficult to get the manual setup correct. If you accept an update from Apple, half the time it'll ruin whatever set up you do have. So once you get it running, don't screw with it. However, once it is running, it's great.
All look nice and with great portability, thank you all very much for the suggestions.
I will definitely try them out at local shops.
PS: just got my note 10.1 yesterday and loving it. Also own an S7S, but note 10.1 is much lighter and generates almost no heat compared to S7S. Of course it is less powerful but all I was doing with S7S are note-taking and sketching, and note 10.1 covers both fairly well.

On the ethernet adapter, There's an updated review:
Dear Solomo1,
We really want our adapter to work for you also
Please notice in the description of the item, we advise buyers this Ethernet Adapter (any ethernet adapter for that matter) does not work with Samsung Tabs.
This adapter does work with the ASUS Transformer tablets. If you contact us at the email address of our web site shown on the product packaging, we will talk you through getting it working with your ASUS. The problem is usually just changing a setting in your tablet or your router. If, however, we learn the unit you received is defective, we will gladly send you a replacement immediately.
Regards,
Bobj

Apparently it doesn't work with Samsung Tabs, but it does work for the ASUS.
Maybe contacting the company can help?

Noob question about Samsung Tabs but Is it software issue or hardware?
Solution to your woes
Had the same issue with my Galaxy notes the best solution is a $20 >>> Mini 802.11N 150M WiFi Wireless Router Access Point AP <<< from ebay
do a search with the above text
small works perfectly and can do PPPOE.... Much better than usb to Ethernet anyway.
Response
the following ANDROID tablets can not use this adapter: Nexus 7-II, Samsung tablets, ACER, Lenovo, Sony, Coby-Kyros. Toshiba models "Thrive7", AT200" (ExciteLE) will not work with this adapter.
Any news on this front? Anyone testing anything?
Hi Friends,
I am from India, Recently we bought galaxy note 800 and its amazing. it works great and we love using it. Now what is bothering me is that we have TATA photon plus postpaid USB dongle in our home. We use it with our laptops and desktops. Now I want to connect the same to my galaxy note and access the internet, when I am outside. I know that we have sim card provision for that purpose but as this photon is provided by my office , I wanna use it instead buying a new SIM. So friends please let me know if we can use this USB dongle with my Tablet and if yes, How do I do that ? I have even got the 30 pin to USB connector for my tab and tried connecting the dongle, but after connecting nothing happens. Only the blue LED on my dongle keeps blinking as it does when it connects to internet over my laptop, but I cannot connect to internet.
Help me guys and thanks in advance.
I do not think it will support it but you can test it you need the connector to USB converter should get it for around 100 rs in the local market use it and check whether it detects it or not if it does you are in luck if it does not then you have to look at an alternative anyways it will look ugly why dont buy a prepaid card all the providers provide 1gb for 250
No Data card does not work using an OTG cable just tried it
The dongles need drivers to work. On the laptop or pc it generally installs them as part of the setup process however as this is a windows app it won't work on an android tablet. I know dongles have been got to work on other tablets, the Acer Iconia A500 comes to mind but there was a lot of work by the devs to get them working and then it was only certain dongles....
No the drivers for dongles are part of Linux or Unix like keyboard or mouse but it is detected as an high voltage device and hence it does not take it. older version of Linux kernels use to not support dongles but newer version do support it
Hi I recently bought Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110 WIFI only, Can I connect any USB internet Dongle to it to access internet besides WIFI.
I already know we can connect USB with OTG adaptor but that only supports keyboard, mouse and not any USB dongle.
If not dongle is there any way I can access internet on it while travelling when there is no WIFI. Please Help, I travel most of the time and now I think I wasted my money with no internet on it

Hello
I'm trying to connect my Samsung GT N8000 tablet (Gnabo Rom 4.2) to the internet via an Ethernet cable and an OTG cable. In the Version of the ROM I have there is clearly an option for Ethernet available in the connectivity tab, but its always greyed out. I'm using a KY-RD9700 Ethernet to USB 2.0 connector and a Samsung OTG cable. The OTG cable works normally with other devices but its not recognizing the ethernet at all. Assisting apps such as Ethernet on the play store do not help. I understand this is most likely a kernel issue, but since ethernet is already being shown in the connectivity tab, I'm not sure. If that could be the issue, is there any KitKat compatible ethernet eth0 supported kernels for the Gt N8000? I'm having trouble finding one as they made the newer Note 10.1 which pretty much screwed people having the old one. Any solution of workaround will be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I know that there are many many WiFi hotspots, and Bluetooth tethering options to use LTE from my phone to provide an internet connection of my tablets. However, running three radios just to get internet on the one device that I want to use seems a little overkill, and not particularly energy-efficient. What I'm looking for is an app, and a USB cable or dongle to connect my LG G3 to my Asus Memo 8 and/or Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014ed. That way I am only using one radio (LTE on my phone) to get a data connection to the internet, and the link between my phone and tablets is an efficient USB data connection.
Thanks for any help,
Misha
