Hello,
I know that there are many many WiFi hotspots, and Bluetooth tethering options to use LTE from my phone to provide an internet connection of my tablets. However, running three radios just to get internet on the one device that I want to use seems a little overkill, and not particularly energy-efficient. What I'm looking for is an app, and a USB cable or dongle to connect my LG G3 to my Asus Memo 8 and/or Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014ed. That way I am only using one radio (LTE on my phone) to get a data connection to the internet, and the link between my phone and tablets is an efficient USB data connection.
Thanks for any help,
Misha

Hi Friends,
I am from India, Recently we bought galaxy note 800 and its amazing. it works great and we love using it. Now what is bothering me is that we have TATA photon plus postpaid USB dongle in our home. We use it with our laptops and desktops. Now I want to connect the same to my galaxy note and access the internet, when I am outside. I know that we have sim card provision for that purpose but as this photon is provided by my office , I wanna use it instead buying a new SIM. So friends please let me know if we can use this USB dongle with my Tablet and if yes, How do I do that ? I have even got the 30 pin to USB connector for my tab and tried connecting the dongle, but after connecting nothing happens. Only the blue LED on my dongle keeps blinking as it does when it connects to internet over my laptop, but I cannot connect to internet.
Help me guys and thanks in advance.
I do not think it will support it but you can test it you need the connector to USB converter should get it for around 100 rs in the local market use it and check whether it detects it or not if it does you are in luck if it does not then you have to look at an alternative anyways it will look ugly why dont buy a prepaid card all the providers provide 1gb for 250
No Data card does not work using an OTG cable just tried it
The dongles need drivers to work. On the laptop or pc it generally installs them as part of the setup process however as this is a windows app it won't work on an android tablet. I know dongles have been got to work on other tablets, the Acer Iconia A500 comes to mind but there was a lot of work by the devs to get them working and then it was only certain dongles....
No the drivers for dongles are part of Linux or Unix like keyboard or mouse but it is detected as an high voltage device and hence it does not take it. older version of Linux kernels use to not support dongles but newer version do support it
I am looking to buy a 3G or 4G USB dongle to use with the Surface RT...

Can you confirm Dongle modle number as well please?

The ones that will work are those with NDIS 6.3
Anyone happen to have the Sierra Wireless AirCard 313U to test out on a Surface?
Google for Netzero4g 4G hotspot. I think that so far that type of device are going to be the only option.
My Clearspot works well.
I really need an AT&T solution. Anyone test anything? I am tethering via my iPhone 5 right now, but want to get away from that.
Why not look into the "mobile hotspot" type devices as opposed to a USB dongle. All of them will be compatible being that you only connect to it via WiFi. Much more convenient since you don't have to plug it in to anything.

I am tethering via wifihotspot off my Android phone - Verizon. Only thing is in Hotspot mode it kills my battery on my phone, and wifi speed is a bit slow.
I just traveled to Japan last week and most hotels over there are still not big fans of wifi. So, they usually have ethernet wired rooms for internet. I tried to use my OTG to ethernet adapter to connect the ethernet connection to my Razr Maxx HD. Unfortunately, it did not work. But I noticed on the phone there are settings for the ethernet connection but they are available to make changes or selectable. The adapter that I used came from my cheap travel tablet that uses an OTG/mini usb to ethernet adapter to connect to the internet. The tablet and my laptop connected just just fine. No recognition or anything when plugging the adapter into the Razr. I would like to skip taking the tablet in the future if I can just use my phone. Or quite possibly use the ethernet connection to enable the phone's hot spot connection. I am wondering if anyone on this forum used an ethernet connection with there Razr HD and if so what is needed to get it to work? Thanks in advance.

Hello!
I have a Xiomi Note 3 (SD) Special Edition (Kate). Accidentally I dropped my device and it got broken. I have already replace the display and including to this replacement, everything is going good apart from the Wifi and Bluetooth. I assumed this to be software issue but trying so many tricks from different threads I found it to be a hardware issue at last. Anyway, now my question is as mobile data is not a cost effective solution, so to use this phone in my house using my in-house broadband wifi, can I use a USB wifi adapter/router (Xiaomi mini USB Router) to be connected via OTG cable as an alternative to my phone's non working wifi?

You can probably use a USB dongle that has WiFi and Bluetooth capability, similar to this:
https://m.alibaba.com/product/60571...ni.html?spm=a2706.7843667.1998817009.7.zTQNFa
You will need an OTG adapter but your device has to have the hardware and software to support OTG. I've used these on PC but not sure how it's used on android so there may be compatibility issues depending on the types of devices that the dongle supports.
If your home WiFi router has a 5Ghz network then you'll need a dongle that supports dual band, otherwise you won't be able to connect to 5Ghz, you'll have to use a 2.4Ghz network.
I DO NOT PROVIDE HELP IN PM, KEEP IT IN THE THREADS WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE
