entirely depends on which cover you've used. ideally you need to flip the case open to swipe the screen to accept the call. You can then close the flip cover and take the call as per normal. I doubt that you can use what samsung phones have where they have a slot on the cover where you can swipe the screen, as MIUI requires you to swipe up instead of left/right.
I'm talking about original flip cover which produced by xiaomi. Do you have any experience about notification light and Does screen go off when flip cover closed?

I have one. The screen goes off. You cannot see the notification light when closed. The side buttons work great. I dropped it once. The cover saved it on the first bounce. Then the phone flew out of the cover but did not break.
I'd like to just chime in and ask, does the official Xiaomi flip case stay closed properly?
The flap looks like it isn't secured, so is it prone to popping open? How does it compare to the flip cases that have a magnetic buckle?

It keeps popping open and it's annoying. But I only have it for 3 days now, maybe with time it will stretch,
I was thinking of adding a magnet clip or something myself even.
It does open, no magnet to keep it closed. It has some weight on it though, so it is still way better than the nilkin flip case. That one couldn't even stay closed and screen kept going on and off. In the nilkin though the phone clips in better and you can see when the screen turns on for notifications. Another thing you should consider with flip cases is the absence of lock control when you get a custom rom. None of the roms i tried had an option to control whether the magnet of the flip case is going to be locking the screen or not as in miui. After trying them for a few weeks i switched to a regular back cover case.

I'm guessing you're in Asia. The Book Cover isn't being released in the EU and US until later this month so I doubt there will be a lot of people that can help you.

The "official" Book Cover a lot of us are waiting for has magnets in it too. So I'm guessing it's not the magnet itself but where it's hitting your Note.
I just took a small neodymium magnet (very strong) and ran it over the entire front, back and around the edges of my Note 10 and nada. Didn't wake it up. It did, however, stick to the speaker magnets.

Was you S-pen in its slot at the time? If so, maybe take it out then try again, just to see what happens?
Hello,
i bought a flip cover for my Galaxy Note 8.0.
When i open it, the screen goes on as expected. However when is turned all the way to the back of the Note, the screen goes off!
It seems that also the back camera has a sensor and understands when i do this the screen should turn off.
Any suggestions to fix this?
is this and official case? if not then i'd suspect either you have one with too strong a magnet, an unshielded magnet or both.

hello,
no it is not the official case, so probably this is what you indicated.
Is there a way to stop the tablet from recognizing the case totally?
so far the only way is to cut out the magnet until someone figures out how to disable it. you'll most likely need root to do so.

thanks, any idea where exactly is this magnet?
i believe it's inside near where the case meets the edge of the device. run a magnet around it to verify the exact spot.
Hi all,
I have had the official flip case for a few weeks now and to be honest its not suiting me well.
Plus sides first.
Its thin, it looks nice, its decent quality material (coming from a person who does leather-work for a hobby). The fit is very good and the finish is excellent. Screen protection is always a bonus of course.
Down sides.
One handed operation is a pain in the butt. The lid has a mind of its own which makes it a pain especially for car mounts. taking photos can be another pain whilst trying to keep the top cover out of the way, The s-view screen when closed is very limited to say the least, customisation is pretty much none existent.
When waking the phone by opening the cover it sometimes gets confused and will only give me one chance at fingerprint unlocking before timing out?? If i then use the power button to wake it gets more confused still.
I also noticed after a weekend in the pocket the case had come loose on one side. This caused the cover to not notify the phone it was there. It didnt give me a prompt to check he seal. Due to the nature of the case there is more leverage to peel the back from the phone without you easily noticing.
Dont get me wrong I am not done with this case yet but its not impressing me so far, especially given the cost, the shocking cost of it...
Thoughts from other users???
Dissatisfied
I purchased the S-View as well when I got my S5
At first I loved it!
-It's sleek, professional looking IMO
-Screen protection is great
-The case stays shut like its supposed to
-Quick access to Camera
-Easily view text messages
After about a week of using it it became more of a PITA to use than anything.
-Lack of drop protection, but that's a given
-One handed use is frustrating
-No real customization to S-View screen
-I am a heavy email sender/receiver for work and I could not find a way to view email notifications on the S-View
-Inconsistent proximity sensor reaction. I would have to open the case to hang up the phone half the time
-If you flip the cover around to the back of the phone occasionally it would put the screen to sleep
-Any pictures taken while using the camera with the cover closed get saved to a separate folder within the device's storage
-Unlike the S5's screen the S-View screen would collect finger prints like crazy and I always had to clean it off
Just my 2 cents. I went back to Sprint and returned it in exchange for the Otterbox Defender and have no complaints so far!
I also have the Sview cover and trust me its looks nice and fancy but not practical at all Mine is back in it's box. Just too cumbersome to use...

Hello!
I have bought a "smart" cover case with a little window in the upper right corner. When opened/closed it triggers a little home screen with a clock and a camera button. I cant find which the application is to provide that screen, i there are any settings. Is someone aware of this?
I'm currently running KangVip Ultra slim B112 and this functionality is present there.
Regards,
+1
It would be really intersting to know...

I believe the functionality is provided by /system/priv-app/Keyguard.apk
I also have the mediapad x2 with this "smartcase". how does this case trigger the clock "window" thing? is there a small magnet or rfid embedded in the case?? problem i'm having is when I fold the cover/flap behind the phone so that I can hold and use my phone, it keeps randomly trying to switch back and forth from the clock screen and then back to whatever I was doing. it seems to be triggered by proximity and alignment of the case's front flap... again though' the problem I have is the phone can somehow sense it from the back too which forces me to have to constantly keep like a one inch gap between the flap and phone body while using. I would prefer to not have the window thing at all vs. having this annoying problem. I also would just buy a different case if there were more options. but theres not even a knock-off otter box for this phone... just this wacky flap case and the super cheapo basic crap.. I would be very interested in how to turn off the clock thing permanently while keeping this case

Yes, there is small magnet activating sensor inside the phone. I have such case and, fortunately, I HAVE SOLVED problem myself. Look there for solution.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63927325&postcount=36
I bought this today for $9 http://www.nillkin.com/english/proshow.asp?mid=2&sid=0&tid=0&cid=1&scid=&id=5000&page=1 and I successfully registered it and the app, but the problem is if I close the flip cover completely, it unlocks my screen instead of showing the kview. The kview appears only if the case is partially opened like 5-10mm. Seems like a problem with the way it interacts with the proximity or a service. Anyone got an idea?
Since it shows the smart view when not completely closed, I can't use the smart shortcuts..
I just bought this case after reading your post. It doesn't work correct for me either, I have a feeling it's because of the magnet placement, top left corner on the front of case. I cant use the case even without the app, as if I close it while screen on, it simulates a long press of the back and menu button.
I guess this is indeed the problem! Wasted myself $9 since I bought it from another region! I need to figure out a way to remove that glass plastic.
