Does anyone know if Lenovo or Lowe's offers any kind of insurance/damage protection? Square trade might but I don't know?

I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to have a one year warranty, but when I added my phone to the Lenovo page, it claimed I had no warranty. I bought my phone from Lowes (online). The Lenovo phone rep claimed it was a glitch because their system isn't set up for phones, but they also couldn't look up my warranty to tell me how long it really was, so I'm not sure what to believe.
Square trade but it's a one time thing also make sure to get it right after getting the phone
Can you post link to Lenovo warranty register page?

I bought a square trade warranty for drops and spills, which also covers mechanical issues (if that's the right word), but I read somewhere our P2P has a 1 year manufacturers warranty, since it's sold in the states. According to Lenovo US Phab 2 Pro site http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/smartphones/phab-series/phab2-pro/ there is a warranty, but apparently you have to contact them for specifics.

There is a SquareTrade warranty with Drops and Spills... I couldn't get any kind of warranty for my Chinese Huawei Mediapad X2... SquareTrade said nope... They said only USA releases... I am thinking that I will get the SquareTrade with Drops and Spills. Something like a $99 deductible and maybe $150 a year... You need to have a receipt from a good USA retailer. I bought my Note 3 NEW on ebay a year or so after it was first released... SquareTrade would only give me a mechanical warranty... I bought my nephew a tablet that was manufactured with an inherent problem with the charging port. I got a 3-year Drops & Spills warranty on it. We are now on the THIRD brand - new tablet SquareTrade has sent us!!! The charging port goes bad and they apparently cannot fix it. I had no deductible and no shipping charges to or from! The only thing is that the tablet is no longer available and it took a LOOOONG time to get this last new one... I am going to demand money instead of a new tablet if it happens again!!!

I bought my square deal warranty for $79 for 1 year with $99 deductible. Use harvest20 as coupon/code at checkout for 20% off. At least that worked for me last Friday.

Thanks! I forgot about the 20% off... I have been getting emails from them about that and just automatically deleting them because I don't need a new warranty at this time... I am still waiting for the P2P to COME BACK!!! I WILL get the warranty ASAP after buying the phone... I figure I would be spending at least as much on a new phone without a warranty as I will on a P2P + WARRANTY...

hey all,
I'm going to be purchasing a 3rd party warranty for my saumsung captivate. Only because Its a refurb phone and well those only come with a 90 day warranty and I have 30 days now to get into warranty with most places.
Which company is best? who has experience with which?
All feed back is appreciated.
http://www.worthavegroup.com/cell-phone-policy - worth ave group
www.squaretrade.com - square trade
http://www.asurion.com/ - Asurion
?????????????????????????????
Asurion has treated me well in the past, but i think that WorthAVEgroup looks a little cheaper when you break the price per month down.
Isn't Asurion like $10+ a month? The WAG is like $5 a month, if they are legit the deductible is similar i would probably go with that.
Are you really that rough with your phone that you need a warranty? Put the thing in a case if you're scared of dropping it and move on with your life.

If you actually read my post instead of flaming me you ass, you would come to a conclusion that im looking for a standard warranty.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
1) I never flamed you.
2) I only said that if you're careful with your phone then you don't need a warranty. 90 days is more than enough for any critical defects to make themselves known.
Interesting~
my two weeks since I bought the tab are coming up. 2 years warranty at futuershop $100 should i get it? what is acer warranty?
thanks

Do you have renters insurance? If not, get it. is way cheap. Then add a stand alone contents policy to it to cover property away from the home. Then if anything goes wrong they send check for actual replacement cost so can go get brand new instead of refurbished. Plus, for roughly the amount you pay for insurance on device, everything in your home is covered too. Takes a bit longer to get check than carrier/place of purchase, but worth it.
And it covers all damages not just manufacture defect

How long is the extra warranty if you don't pay extra?
1 year is usually enough. We'll probably be at Tegra 5 by then anyway. lol.
Hi
I bought my galaxy note 10.1 last week Monday and on Saturday I dropped it and the screen cracked. :crying It still works as before, so I'm guessing only the glass is broken? I have received a quote for the repair, It's about R3300 ($330) I reckon the price is too high.
Anyone know where I can get cheap repairs or get parts?
I want to find also the back grey cover as mine is corrupted

That's really high, almost as much as a new tablet. Have you thought of going the insurance route?
You could probably buy a warranty on squaretrade, wait the time period before filing a claim (30 days?) and get it for like 100-150 less than that price wise.

I'll admit, I am not familiar with the TOS with squaretrade, but that seems a little dishonest if the contract says the device must first be undamaged.
Maybe You just get the glass and do it by Yourself following this ?:

I do have insurance but I haven't paid the first premium as it's due month end. So I thought I may be required to wait till I've paid the first premium. Stupid provider did not courier insurance documents.
I'm impatient, I just got the device!
I bought a new note 10.1 on ebay. I am considering getting a Square Trade 2 yr warranty + accidents(drops and spills) for about $88. I did register the tablet on the samsung website.
Would it be worth the money to buy the Square Trade 2 yr warranty + accidents for about $88?
I'm not usually one to purchase extended warranties. But I did for the Note. It's not like a TV or refrigerator that just gets plugged in and stays in one place it's entire life. It's real easy to envision dropping this thing and causing some major damage. Every time you pick it up you're at risk. Add in sitting on a table while it's charging and tripping on the cord and it just seemed worth it to me.
Do it if you have the money, I use to not but when you're on a budget and you can't afford it to crap out on you then it helps

For the cost you are paying for the two years its a good deal you should go for it, make sure it covers everything including the screen and body bec thats the only thing you will damage

Extended Warranty for Tablets
I have for my cell phone and other tablets...but you might want to look if your home owners or renters insurance has the option for a Computer Clause.
I found that for $50/year I can get $10K for of coverage for ALL my computers....
Extended Warranties are staright profit for those companies who offer them...but I have used my AppleCare warranties for my MacBook Pro when it stopped working on one of my deployments and it paid for itself....otherwise I have not used one...
I guess it is how hard you are on your portable electronics....
Well Apple support cannot be matched Samsung does not even come close.
If under warranty there is anything wrong with your device it will be replaced no other manufacturer will do that

For me I personally do not believe in the whole insurance/warranty services. Examples being Asurion (Insurance) and SquareTrade (Warranty). Also to me carrier warranties are also bull.
Asurion $7/month $99 Deductible
Covers damage/lost device
SquareTrade $7/month ($125 2 years) $99 Deductible
Only covers repairs not lost device.
Manufacturers Warranty
12 Months FREE covers any manufacturers defects
For me why would I pay $125-175 + $99 if anything happens to my phone. So I am looking at $2-300 dollars if anything breaks or I lose my device. For that price I will take the risk. If my screen breaks I will use $50 to replace myself or pay a shop $80 or a $99 deductible. Mechanical problems with antennae/physical buttons I will pay a shop $120 to fix it or a $99 deductible. Did I lose my phone on the beach? Guess I will have to buy a generation behind, and get a used device on craigslist for $2-300 or a $99 Deductible.
Either way you are paying 2 years of insurance, and a deductible. You are better off just saving your money, and buying a decent slim case like a UAG. Unless you plan on regularly losing your device, and running it over repeatedly (to which I would assume they limit) then do not fall for the scam of insurance for your cell phone.
The way I see it if it does not fail within the first year the manufacturer made it just fine, and with normal use my phone will last me just fine. I would rather keep my $300 on hand in worst case scenario than give my money to another company.
Yeah if you're a pro that works for the usually rookie to android's world it wouldn't. Not everyone can do it all like you and I. That's why I recommend coverage . I've already replaced mine three times and haven't spent a penny... If you brick it on purpose they won't charge you anything... Just saying

2 replacements a year
i believe assurion limits you to 2 replacements in a 12 month period...
I go with best buy and never had a problem . Yes I know I'm paying 10 bucks a month, but to me that's better than paying some shaddy phone repair shop. I already have used them one time since I got the phone because I some how bent one of the usb pens. The repair process was fast and easy only had to drop the phone off and pick it up .

Asurion limits you to 2 replacements for physical damage/theft/lost although you can get unlimited warranty replacements. IMO it's worth it for the warranty portion alone. If you're not worried about losing it or physically damaging it, just pay the $1.99 per month for the extended warranty. If something goes wrong with your phone after 12 months you're SOL whereas if you at least have the $1.99 you can get a cert-replacement.
I usually tell people to use either insurance or extended warranty for 20 months, after that you can drop it off your plan since at that point you'll be eligible for renewal.
I hard bricked my phone. Told asurion it was lost. Paid $99. Not rooting the replacement. If you play with ROMS it's worth the money.

If you're messing around with your phone a lot and somewhat of butterfingers like me , get insurance!
I cover all my electronics with SquareTrade; reliable and cheaper.
Personally I have signed up for the insurance, and have gotten good use of it as well. Yes, you can find a used on on CL or ebay, but you dont know the condition of it.
Plus they overnight you a new phone as soon as you make the claim, and are not tied to finding the best "deal" in short notice. Once you are out of contract and IF you keep your phone (dont upgrade right away), I might consider getting rid of the coverage.
How about the replacement phones? what are the chances of getting a new device? and chances of choosing a different device? and customer service
I had my phone a month. It was rooted with another rom in it. I got drunk at my birthday party and had the phone in my swimming trunks pocket all day. I forgot it was there and I jumped in my pool that evening. After about 5-10 min I realized what I'd done. I used rice to help dry it out over a couple days. It would power up but the screen would not come up. I was able to Odin it back to stock and sent it in to Assurion. No questions asked what so ever on the replacement.

I had to file a claim this past November and was sent a new in box S3! I doubt that is typical though.
My kid did a number on my wifes phone the casing was cracked all the way around, took about 5 minutes online at 7pm last Friday night, by 1245pm the next day, Saturday. Brand new phone, SIM, and battery. It was well worth it.

Assurion sucks!! Takes 3 days to arrive, ALWAYS REFURBISHED! Covers everything but cheaper alternatives exist. If your not prone to losing your phone, get a zagg, otter box and don't waste your 7 bucks a month PLUS 130 dollar deductible.

Asurion is absolutely amazing. Their customer service is great and they're fast, easy, and helpful. I was visiting my friend who goes to a different college a few hours away and i lost my phone at some party. i waited a couple days in case it was found....which it wasnt. I called up Asurion and told them everything that happened, I filed for a claim and the next morning they said they would be able to send out a new phone and all I had to pay was the deductible. I got the phone within 48 hours, so I DEFINITELY recommend Asurion, they literally cover ANTYHING, whether it's water damage, broken, or even if you lost it.
and i know many people are thinking that they could just CLAIM that it's lost and get a new one by paying just the deductible. noooo that is not possible (at least i dont think...), because you have to provide your imei number, so they can block it from being used
I've had nothing but good experiences. I have 5 lines and have used them for insurance for at least 5 years. I've had to make at least 2 claims a year (well I've never had to but for the other 4 lines) and I've always had great customer support, overnight delivery and a new phone. The only time I've had a "problem" is when they didn't have a Inc2 in stock and they sent my wife a DROID RAZR.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I had a bad experience with them just a couple months ago and posted a thread about it here you could search for. They basically said it would be a week or two before they could send me ANY replacement at all - they gave me zero options to choose from after telling me they were out of the S3. After a few calls and couple hours of threatening them, they finally offered to reimburse me if I went out and bought a brand new one. Decent result, but really had to fight for it and took a lot of hassle (and I definitely started off politely asking for any options aside simply waiting for a couple weeks without a phone).
Key word: Refurbished.
