i think security level patch, and some buggs fixed, phone is faster and less laggy
I think it's just a little bit bug fix and security patch update. After update, Android security patch level has changed to November 1.
Probably fix the dirty cow.

What about the problem with the laser focus reported by some users. Is that still present?
Installing the patch caused my device to brick, the device restarted and now it shows "error" with red exclamation mark.
The device was not rooted or bootloader unlocked.
Use pccompanion to repair your phone.
Security it's for november but what else? Sony don't show any changelog

tried that but it's not working, as soon as i connect the device to a charger or a pc, it keeps rebooting indefinitely and returning to the error screen.
I found someone else reporting the same problem in a very old thread with Xperia Z and the fix was to replace the motherboard.
This is my 1st non-nexus device and i'm starting to really regret it.
Use Androxyde's FlashTool to repair your phone.

When repairing the phone, you have to connect it in flash mode. And i gueds you have installed flash mode drivers already.

How can i enter this "flash mode"? are you referring to recovery or fastboot mode?
The problem is if i connect it to a charger or to pc, it keeps indefinitely rebooting.

Hold volume down button as you plug it in, and until it starts to flash.
After this update Sony Style Cover Touch SCTF10 has much better touch. Now touch works almost every time with Sony Style Cover Touch SCTF10 on.
Double tap to wake and double tap to sleep works every time.
And UI and Android are smooter and a little faster although that wasn't problem before update.

I don't see it on my SCTF10 still the same touch problem. Maybe gloves mode can help it ??
Where can I download this new firmware? And how to install it (my xz is rooted, bootloader unlocked and androplus-kernel v4 and twrp installed)?

No the double tap to wake doesn't work still...
Has anyone checked the camera quality? Does oversharpening still exist?

I am experiencing the double tap to wake issue on both 213 and 250 on my F8332. Double tap to sleep works perfectly. Too bad this 3.30 still does not fix the issue. Anyone else experiencing double tap to wake problem on 3.30?

My GF's M2 Aqua has a bug with the accelerometer. If she makes a longish phone call the accelerometer stops working (i.e. no auto-rotate) without a reboot. Looks like I'm not the only one:

Apparently Sony are finally looking into it and hopefully will issue a fix in another firmware release.
Usually I'd just flash a custom ROM but there doesn't seem to be any reliable builds with a fully working camera...
I confirm that this happens to me too, I just hate it because it worked if I had NFC activated in the update before 18.3.1.c.1.13.

it seems that the proximity sensor has something to do with it.
somehow after a long call it stucks and blocks even the accelerometer and the compass sensors.
it happens even to me and you have to restart your device to work again, but if you talk using the headset or if you press the power button while you are talking at the phone you can avoid the bug.
for me is working all the time and i can wait patiently until the official fix
Looking at the other thread I posted, one of the users said a new firmware update has been pushed with the same version number. Let's hope it fixes it...

Just enough to wake up the screen, can't say as my M2 has it as never had a problem of on my own one
D2303 stock 4.4.4 KK rooted philz touch recovery xposed Bravia engine 2 x-reality
I think it only affects the Aqua (2403) model. Anyway, I installed a kernel for the standard M2 model following the instructuions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...a-2403-root-philz-touch-t3072833/post60152564 and it seems to have fixed the issue.
Apparently Sony are about to issue another software update, but I'll hold off on that until I know the status of this bug...
I have the latest update 1.15 and it seems that it doesn't have the bug anymore. I am quite happy now with phone. Hope it works for everybody
I seem unable to get the multicamera mode working on my device ,z5, I tried pairing it with another device z3 and nothing happened.

Phone 1 :
Xperia Z (original version)
Custom Rom from AndroExpert based on 5.1.1 and XZ5 extra stuff ported
Phone 2 :
Xperia Z5
Stock Rom
Switch on :
WiFi on both
Camera App
Then select multi cam on both
A popup is displayed during the connection attempt and disapears as soon as the phone are paired (no action on human side )
Then on the XZ5 you can see both camera picture split vertically
Then record and Tap the Camera you want and you can change at any time by either tapping the left or right part of the screen or slidding right or left

The build, after the updates, is 39.0.A.1.250.
I've a problem whit the double tap to wake up: whit this function in display settings on, when I try to wake up the screen whit my finger on the display I've to tap a lot of time and very faster to wake up the phone.
It's normal? With my old Z3C I was tapping just two times to see the display on.

Same here, it works maybe 50% of the time. Sometimes have to tap faster, sometimes slower.
With my z3 and z5p, it works almost 100% of the time

1 week ago, i go to Sony center and i made an "error report letter". Sony center accepted that this is factory's error. And luckily, i has just changed a new one...........
After changed, everythings looks good. My double tap is very well. (10/10 tap) And i dont sure it is Hardware or Software problem. In my country, many mate has the same problem too. Hope it is Software...... But Same XZ, same Software .... But some unit work good, some work fail...... (

But if I take XZ in my hand before double tap, then 100% success : it looks like a software problem, too much deep sleep, XZ is lazy !
Seriously, this should be corrected by a Sony update.
Got my new XZ today and I have the same problem. Double tap to wake takes repeated attempts before it will work. Most disappointing.

I've found that this problem only occurs when the screen has timed out by itself. If I press the power button to turn the screen off then the double-tap to wake feature works as intended. If the device is left alone and the screen powers off by itself then the double-tap to wake takes numerous attempts.

Man, very annoying, considering there's no always on feature or an alternative that permits me to read notifications without unlocking the phone.
I'm hopeful that this will be addressed in an upcoming update. Mine usually takes two to three tries of varying speeds.

I would say mine works properly 8-9/10 times. Of the times it has failed, I have noticed it is more frequent when power saver mode is on. I have also noticed it tends to work better when I pick the phone up as opposed to when it is sitting on a flat surface.

Maybe I am not tapping it right when its flat
same here, also noticed that when I put my device on vibrate it still make sound on the first press and then goes silent.
Relax, it's software related, have some positive news for everyone, this 7.0 concept update for the z3 and z3 compact suggests that it's a software issue.

Somebody get 10/10, mine tested in the store today, I had to press over 3 times to make the screen turn on.
Hi, first of all sorry for my english.
I have a strange problem with the touch in my Pixel 2. Quite often the back button does not work. The other two work flawlessly. Sometimes it happens that I click something on the screen and he does not reggae. Only the second or third pressing causes a touch response. I restored the phone to factory settings, but that does not help. So I decided to check it in emergency mode. In this mode, it seems to me that everything works very well. So it comes out that it's an app. It seems to me that when I entered Safe Mode in the Gboard settings it took once what I described. Is it possible for Gboard to freeze the screen? As for the back button I had the same in the LG V10 where were the buttons on the screen and I also had the same on the HTC 10. In these devices, the touch on the screen was OK. I also checked the screen touch with some apps from Google Play Store, and it also comes out that the touch works 100%. However, in normal mode, the phone can not be used. Did anyone meet with a similar case? Is this software or hardware issue?

I'm having a bad time with tapping on my pixel 2. It's becoming a real pain in my a$$ too. I did a pressure test with display tester and the results proved it is an issue. I'm not savvy enough to know what to do about it?

You can download it manually using xperifirm and flash it using flashtool.
You can do it all with flashtool 0.9.33.0, download and install because flashtool has xperifirm inside.

With the current build of android 11 it seems like the fingerprint is missing as an option under security setting.
I assume no photography pro app still? And does gestures work with 3rs party launchers?

I don't think that Sony respects last year's models enough to give them Photo Pro
I just got the update today and now my phone is extremely slow to unlock/light up the screen after i press the unlock button, does anyone experience this too ?
Today I had the update as well. At first glance, no big changes. The only thing I noticed is that the options and icons on the top bar have changed. And the powermenu. I keep investigating.

I certainly don't face such an issue! The animations though, are a bit slower than they were on Android 10.
I am experiencing persistent bugs in Android 11 Update when you charge your phone completely turned off the power button have a delay response to power it on again and when you watch a movie on the sony album app the navigation buttons fades away then if you use the mx player as an alternative video app it closes from time to time it never happens in Android 10.

It happened to me on the official youtube app. The controls disappear and the screen is no longer responding.
I think they have more bugs than I expected. We will have to wait for more updates.

I don't have bugs but, the Overall experience feels kind of slower. Not slow, but slower than it used to be. The boot up also is about 5-7 seconds slower. It feels like they put some weight on the phone.
Edit : I will wait for a next update, to see if it fixes the phone's speed. Even though I don't think it will. If not, I'll do a clean install, and if even after it things don't change, previous Android 10 will be my daily driver.

Yes there's some versions of the YouTube app that closes on me too.

Weird that you're boot up is slow mine seems faster and the boot animation now works than in Android 10 doesnt work it seems like it freezes.
