[Completed] Loaded new firmware - Lost hidden Items in gallery - XDA Assist

Hi Experts,
So this happened with me:
- Tried rooting my Android - Successful
- Installed Root Booster App - Successful
- Enabled Speed booster from the app - successful
- Phone Bricked after restart :X
It was in a boot loop. Just stuck there. So went to recovery mode and wiped cache and did a factory reset. Did not work. Still stuck in boot loop. After a deep thought, I decided to install a fresh firmware.
Specs:
- My Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
- Model Num: SM-N750
- Firmware: N750XXUDPA2
- ANDROID: 5.1.1 (lolipop)
I did a fresh install of the firmware using the right tools and was able to get back my phone.
Problem:
Earlier, I got all gallery items stored in the SDCARD. I hid a few important items from general view by making a folder and adding all images in it, then made the folder hidden. Since I removed the SDCARD before formatting or installing the firmware, it was out all times. No chance of data lost.
However, when I try to access the same gallery now, it only shows the gallery items which were not hidden. I am not able to locate any of the hidden folders and images.
Since the images are very important, I hope you experts can help me out and point me in the right direction on how to restore them.
Please help!
Thanks!
Jas

[Completed] [Q] need help restoring from a full adb backup of non-rooted phone

Hello there,
I need some info on how or if it is possible to make use of my full adb restore file or I just throw it away and restart fresh of my device.
Device is allview viper v1 (16Gb) -
NO ROOT and not interested in rooting it.
I believe I made a few versions of good back-ups including at least one good full backup including apks by using UBT (1.3.2 version if I am not mistaking).
My problem: I can't restore the phone by using any of the created ab files by using adb which drives me nuts.
It's worth to mention that in between I upgraded the phone software from 4.2 to 4.4 by using the producer's update images... I did a factory reset with 4.4 and re-installed most of the apps I had. I even copied most of the data from a file-sync backup...
Every time I try to use adb restore I get to the screen to input (now 2 passwords which basically are the same), I get the message "restore starting" and quite fast "restore finished" on the phone screen though while using the full back-up I definitely see that adb is still accessing / reading the file for longer time...
What I tried further: I used abe (android backup extractor by tweaking their .sh script) to create both standard individual .ab-s but also kitkat compatible ones (with abe pack-kk) with no luck in restoring the apps and their data.
It is quite annoying since after converting to .tar and un-tar-ing I can see that the backups seem ok and I can even see the sqlite data and xml settings for the apps but I do not know how to import those to the new OS running on the phone.
I tried this using both USB storage, picture mode, etc., input only the desktop pass and afterwards inputing both of the asked passwords.
So the question is: can I restore the data (about 32Gb including the pics and docs) or should I delete all the "working" files I created and put it on the "learn by error"?
Should I try to downgrade to 4.2. (if it is even possible..) and try the adb restore there?
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Hi there,
I'm sorry but I can't find anything relevant to your question/device.
Please post that in the forum bellow for more answers from the experts:

Good luck
Info about the device is available on the forums here - more or less related to the allview name since that's a re-branded phone - e.g. how to root it, how to flash it, how to recover from a broken state but that is not what I am interested in...
I guess it's more of an Android related question but might be a device issue too.
Nevertheless, I will take your advice and copy / paste the original post in Android Troubleshooting section.
Thanks.

[Completed] [Q] HTC One M9 - Root apps won't work (root available)

Device: HTC One (M9)
I tried to root my smartphone including unlocking bootloader and so on...
I used the tutorial linked down below.
https://youtu.be/rOHN8byHAzk
I had no issue during the process. The only thing that didn't work was the recovery of the file "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip". Therefor I used the beta file (BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip) and with that it worked!
After recovering with the beta file i had the app SuperUS pre installed. I used the app "Root Checker Basic" to verify that the root access is available and it was!
After that I started to install further root apps like "Emoji Switcher" for instance. I realised that the root apps didn't work. They had access and there were no errors by executing the apps or executing the action but it simply noting happend, even after restarting and as well after recovering the phone again.
Does anyone have a conclusion? Would appreciate any help!
A small thing is also.. I noticed that by downloading apps from the play store (multiple downloads) it sometimes happens that the error 923 pops up. A restart of the device helped for a while.
My last try was to reset the phone. After that the app syncing worked fluently but the root apps still didn't work.
Thanks and kind regards
left Guy

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
There is no forum specifically for the Lenovo S660 but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. Since your device is not widely used, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.

[Completed] Digital2 8" PAD Platinum D1-861G Stuck in Boot

So I've got this tablet mentioned in the title (I'd post a link but not allowed) and I was trying to remove some Chinese bloatware that was killing the laptop with sub-1h battery life. Long story short, something (I have no idea what) went wrong when I was closing apps to test dependencies, I got a bunch of force-close errors, it rebooted, now I'm stuck at the boot screen.
Here's the additional details I can give;
I have debugging enabled and can reach the device with ADB (I've kicked it into recovery and fastboot to test it a few times)
I have access to recovery from the device; it's stock but allows flashing via SD, ADB, or cache
I can wipe the system (factory) but since something needed in the OS was messed up that doesn't fix the problem (I tried)
There's no data on the tablet that I need (it could be wiped completely if that's a step towards solution
I haven't been able to find a ROM that explicitly says it's compatible with this device
I have a microSD card and an adapter so I can access the microSD from my PC without the tablet
The tablet was rooted, but with Kingo. I could give apps root access but SuperSU didn't work for be and wouldn't update binaries
Along with the rooted bits, I can't seem to use the adb root command or mount /system as rw
Along with the last point, the /system partition seems to be read only at the moment.
Help?

[Completed] Deleted all my .odex files in system root folder. No Boot, No recovery.

I've already posted this in another part of the forum, but I really need to figure out whether this is a fixable issue or not so i know whether or not to get a new phone... any help would be much appreciated!
It started with me half-assed reading the below post, and then horribly executing what i thought i had read...

So (and i know, i messed up) I Deleted all of .odex files with fx root explorer in the main system root folder(stupid!)… phone now starts to boot and gets stuck on android screen and stays there.
So far no recovery options will come up (have tried all start-up button combinations)
And all attempts to connect via usb have failed.
I do have proper drivers installed (installed from lg website)
And I have tried doing a hard reset (phone resets, android recovery robot image with open access panel on chest flashes briefly, then the phone resets again, back to square 1. does not continue to loop.)
I realize i did not follow your directions precisely, and would like to know if you can help me restore my phone, or at least tell me if i have completely ruined it?
It's an LG G Stylo from cricket.
It is rooted (via kingroot)
as mentioned, last known activity before loss of file system access was me deleting ALL .odex files found in a search of system root folder using fx root explorer.
thanks in advance for any reply you or anyone else might have
