5380mAh battery for GS5A with the same size as the original. Opinions? - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

Hi guys
I was looking for replacement batteries for my Galaxy s5 active
I found the OEM, of course:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112007844601
It has 2800 mAh
Then I found this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261585921173
A generic "Best4Power" that claim to have 5380mAh, 2580 more than the original, in the SAME battery size.
What do you guys think? could it be too good to be true?

It's fake. If you're lucky it MIGHT be 3500mAh.

Don't bother looking for batteries that claim to be higher capacity that are the same size as the original Samsung battery. Alternatively you could always have a second battery and charge it directly using a pug in battery charger. Or another option is try the mutagen batteries but be warned they can be pretty expensive.

I see, I ended up buying a couple of OEM batteries. Thanks guys, thread can be locked.

If you maximum battery, check with Zerolemond to see if your phone will be compatible with the S5 series. I have been using their extended battery in my S5 since last August and it is working just fine. My wife, who has the same S5 and standard battery, has had to replace her already. I have their battery on my S5 and S4 with a backup purchase if my S5 battery finally dies.

I replaced mine with an original one, maybe not very good autonomy but I'm satisfied

dude, theres no way the "OEM" one is real. 9ish dollars is too cheap. I've seen some pretty good looking fakes. But there are a few ways to spot the difference. depth of contacts, having an NFC antenna, having engraving when the cover is peeled off, size of the metal part (can only tell when the cover is peeled off), general external quality and details are a few quick ways to tell. Bought one last week that was not a bad looking fake. But still fake nontheless. Nervous about putting it in my phone so just got a refund.

Better buy it a original then fake crap thats what i did.

[Q] Anybody bought Extended Slim Battery 1980 mAh

Hello Everybody
I am looking to buying the following battery
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G2X-Opti...ccessories&hash=item2eb6f543db#ht_2178wt_1270
I don't want to sacrifice the sleek look of my mobile phone by buying 1350 mAh or 1450 mAh huge batteries.
Anybody bought these kind of batteries already ?
Do you find noticeable difference in run-time ?
That's the one I saw on ebay.
The thing I notice that the slim batteries that are larger in capacity than the stock batteries are more in price than the larger capacity and fatter batteries with a bigger back cover.
I wonder what is that???
I going to order next payday to try it out.
If you get it before I do. Let me know how it worked out for you.

I do not think this is going to be any better than stock battery. Better to go with the fat one. You will at least get 2000 to 2200 mAh out of those for $10.
I have had that Andida battery for a couple of months now. Never any problems with it, and I would say I probably get somewhere between 30 minutes-2 hours extra charge over the stock battery, depending on what kind of usage, obviously. It feels noticeably thicker/denser than the stock battery. It fits inside with the normal cover, but you can tell it's a tighter fit. I also charge it sometimes on the spare port of my desk dock, and it's a tighter fit there, as well. And a bit heavier.
I won't make any claims of whether it's actuallyt 1980 or not...but it's a good battery...at least mine has been good to me. Nothing "night and day" that you're gonna convert religions over, but if you're looking for a second battery anyway, it's definitely worth it.
Generally, it's seemed like people with the Andida 1980 mAh battery have gotten an extra hour or two more over the OEM.
Buy it from here instead, only $9.

Thanks for posting that obostore link...when I clicked the OP's ebay link, I was pretty sure I didn't pay anything near $29, but it's been a while and I"ve bought so many things, I couldn't remember...but it didn't feel right.
$9 from obostore sounds about right...I've bought about 6 cases and other stuff from them, so they are legit. It does take about 2-3 weeks to reach your door from the time you order, since it comes from Hong Kong.

Thank you so much for this excellent link.
I was initially hesitated to buy this battery for $30 in eBay.

[Q] Getting a New Battery

I've had my Galaxy S 4G for several months now, and recently the battery life has lessened during daily use.
I originally used a 1700mAh genuine Samsung battery (forgive me it may have been 1650), but switched over to some backup batteries I have that are 1500mAh.
The 1500's don't have the same life, so I'd like to buy something better.
I found a 2000mAh on eBay, but would that require a new battery door? The seller does not indicate the battery size. Is it possible to get a 2000mAh battery for my 4G S that is the same size as the original battery?
Any suggestions and response are appreciated. Thanks! - Jamie
as far as I know, there's only one fairly decent battery that will fit your phone as is. and that would be the 1800 mAh battery. there's a thread about it in the accessories section, you should look it up
Thanks for your suggestion. Doesn't seem to be the sort of question many want to answer.
They sell 1800mAh batteries on eBay for 2.99, so I think its worth a shot. I just don't want to get a battery that requires a new door, or makes my phone thicker.
Just saying, you get what you paid for. Honestly, IMO you should try to get the OEM samsung battery for the epic 4g touch, or ankler 1800mAh batteries. there was a battery thread somewhere around the vibrant accesories board which someone tested a bunch of batteries, and a lot of the cheaper off-brands had a lower mAh rating than advertised
We shall see. I actually ended up ordering a 2000mAh off eBay for 11.49. The battery was listed as a fit for my phone. I have actually had some good experience in the past buying third-party batteries, specifically for Motorola phone, but, I've also had poor experiences buying knock-off batteries for blackberries that were packaged to look like the genuine thing.
I'll post back, maybe in a week or so when the battery is delivered and I test it.

[Q] Finding a NEW Skyrocket battery

I'm in Canada, with Rogers and have had a 727R for about 18 months. It's time for a new battery mid-contract.
But Rogers doesn't sell them any more. Nor does Best Buy, Future Shop, the Source etc. There are lots of phone vendors around, but I find that they sell them at $20 - $30, and they must be used, because even after a few cycles and battery calibration, they are usually worse than my old battery. I've bought two from different vendors in the Pacific Mall, they were awful.
I've been told that unless Samsung sells it to you, it's a refurbished battery. Don't even know what that might be...how do you refurb a battery?
So with the retailers no longer stocking batteries for non-current phones, where does one get a NEW Skyrocket battery in Canada?
Also looking for a Verizon Samsung Nexus Extended Battery (2200) as per another thread here. They are gone! Nobody has them. I'd love to try one on my Skyrocket, as it's a higher capacity and most say the fit is not an issue, but nobody seems to sell those either. Ebay sellers are out of stock with no idea if they are coming back in.
Is this what it's come to? Do you throw your phone away after 18 months???
I have the Verizon nexus battery and it fits fine. I guess I should hold on to my stock one just in case. Having said that, I've had mine for 14 months and I haven't noticed any degradation in battery life.

We have Amazon, but there are Samsung Nexus Extended Battery (2200) left anywhere, and the cheap $20 batteries all seem to be refurbished, none of them last very long.
How about ebay?

ebay.ca seems to have a lot of listings

Almost all of those batteries aren't "refurbished". For refurbishing the battery you need to replace the battery itself, keeping the battery controller chip and battery housing. This is mostly done in laptops.
However, housing is almost non-existent on i727 battery - it consists of 2 plastic covers, lower and upper, with the upper holding the controller chip. All the rest of the space is the battery.
What you get when you buy a battery from eBay will most likely be counterfeit, AKA fake. It's a smaller battery wrapped in plastic housing with a chip. It won't have NFC even if written on it, and it'll hold 1/2 the time of the original battery - and the "SAMSUNG" glued paper on it will be just that - a paper.
I've disassembled one of those, so the info is first hand.

Legit aftermarket larger internal battery?

Was looking at batteries on ebay and seen a couple sellers offering 3200mah batteries. Has anyone tried these or have any experience with them? Are there any known battery makers that makes these for our phones?

Samsung is one of the best Lithium battery manufacturers on the planet. Finding a higher capacity cell that would fit the S6 is pretty much impossible and those 3200mah batteries are most likely fakes
Ya that's what I thought. I was just wondering if a legit company had made one. Like anker or zero lemon. Not really into the battery case thing
Just an an FYI: the last phones that had official extended battery support support was S2 and S3. ZeroLemon made one for S4 but the bulk added is just ridiculous. S5 is "waterproof" and that feature would go away with 3rd party or even official support and cause even more issues among the average joe's. The S6 back is sealed. So unless you can magically modify the whole frame to keep the support it adds and fit a larger battery while at the same time magically invent extra space for it you're unfortunately out of luck.
Maybe would be possible to use the 3200 mah battery and cover of the S6 active? That would be wonderful
Those batteries are fake. Never trust batteries from eBay. Your best solution is to buy a good battery case like the mophie, but it is a bit pricy.
I bought one and the battery was still terrible. I ended up selling the phone. Probably will wait to see what the s7 has to offer. The s4, s5 and s6 were disappointing phones.

For me battery on S6 is great, holds me all day, and if i really need i can plug in fast charge for 10-20 minutes that gives me 4-6 additional hours.

Fast charger is underated... When I had my Z2, battery would last longer but when it didn't I basically needed 4 hours to charge it again.
I remember needing my GPS for Google Maps to go to an scheduled event... I had to use my car charger all the time.
It was very annoying.
With the S6 in 25 minutes charging I already have a decent battery to use.
The only battery that does work and its 3000mAh is the galaxy S 6 edge + battery, its the same flex connector and width but not the same height as the oem one, so some modifications need to be made to the mid frame to make it fit, the galaxy s7 battery is also 3000mAh and has the same flex connector/height/width as the s6, so in theory it should also fit with 0 modification to the mid frame.

He stated same height and width so I am assuming the same dimensions. Might have to give this a go and order an OEM replacement s7 battery and take it in to get it swapped.

You want to put a 3000 Mah battery of the S6 edge plus in a S6? If you mean this i wuold appreciate to see your progress!!!
Any news?
PMed him and got no response as well. Does anyone actually have the measurements for the battery for both phones? From the pictures they look really similar with the s7 having a slightly longer cable. It also looks a bit thicker but I think the black bars just gives that illusion. Hell I'd swap it out and use it without the back cover if I had to.

Samsung said that the dimensions are very similar as the dimensions of the battery of our S6.
So i think we can do it.
But i think is better with the battery of s7 flat
Ok guys i finally was able to get an s7 battery, in the picture you can see the s7 battery on the left and the s6 on the right, the s7 battery is physicly smaller im very surprise by that being that its 3000mAh vs the s6 2550mAh, but it does fit, the only issue is that the s7 battery is about 1mm thicker..that could be a problem, il update with more pictures on monday with the battery on my s6.

Any suggestions from personal experience on which is the best battery replacement

I just replaced my original battery with a Max Baer high capacity battery at 3600mAh and it's just as bad as my old original battery. It's draining just as fast. I need to purchase another battery so anyone with experience with purchasing any batteries. If you can give me some advice on which one you bought and how well it did would be great cuz I would hate to buy another one after I buy this one, so any advice would be grateful. And theven MaxBeat high capacity battery was even rated higher than at 3600mAh and the original battery was 3200mAh or close to that number. so I would have thought that this max Baer battery would have done pretty good but it's as a right now not holding up to my standards I have to charge it like twice a day. Once again any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it thank you
Never heard of MaxBaer/MaxBeat or whatever it is - is it the same physical size as the original battery? If so, there is no way it can be 3600mAh. I wouldn't touch anything other than RavPower - as far as I'm aware there are no genuine Samsung ones left and Anker has stopped making them. RavPower: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072N5G4RB
I'm a ZeroLemon fan. Granted it makes the phone larger and people always comment on how large my phone is, though I have used phones as large as Red Bricks for work (Intermec) so it's small by comparison. I don't use the belt clip with it since I have cargo pockets.
Based on my personal experience, StalionĀ® Strength Note 4 Replacement Battery gives a great performance compared to the original for a normal (not extended battery) and sells at a very good price too. Also 4500mah Golden Battery though its performance is the same as a 3220mah Stalion but comes at a cheaper price.
I have got them from eBay.
I have tried Maxbear and powerbear, neither of which are any good in my experience. I also have two from anker and those were good but they're old now. I just this week bought an extended shenMZ 7500 mAh battery but that is not even lasting an entire day so I think it may have been sitting for a while. I think part of the problem may be that some of these batteries have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time unused. Somebody in this thread said that the RavPower batteries are still good. I also hear from another thread that the TQTHL extended 11800mah batteries are good as well. Has anybody bought a battery in the past few months that doesn't suck?
