So... I guess it's time to talk about what has happened in the past few months.
As you may know, my M2 was definetly broken, having to carry a powerbank with me all the day... One day it suddenly refused to charge anymore, and it wasn't the battery, since, with all the donations from many of you, I bought a new one, and, unfortunately, didn't solve the issue. The problem was on a chip that sits on top of the Qualcomm MSM8226 processor, which, with the help of a friend of mine, we deducted is the charging circuit.
I completely teared down my device, having a hope that in some local store they could try to fix it, somehow... But with absolutely no luck.
My motherboard is now trashed, it won't boot nor charge anymore. I can't currently afford buying a new one (I'm a full time student, money flies, you know...), and even though I could, investing 50€ in a phone that is already more than 2 years and a half old is a bit of a madness, having newer models out there already, IMHO.
Right now, my solution to the problem has been using my Nvidia SHIELD Tablet as my daily driver (it even fits in the pockets of my jeans!), in couple with my Xperia Tipo, which serves exclusively as a Wi-Fi router and for call-handling. The rest of the stuff is on the SHIELD Tablet.
Regarding my projects related to this device, I'll have to EOL them... I know many of you enjoyed it (and so I did making them become true!), but unfortunately I can't work for a device I don't own anymore. It's sad, but true.
This doesn't mean you won't see me on XDA again, since I already have some other ideas which I started to work at (and not being so "device-specific"), so, even though I won't be that active, I'll still try to contribute as much as I can.
You'll still be able to download, use and improve any of the Xperia M2 projects (ie. EagleXperience, Xperia Z5 STYLE, EagleRootTool, the unlocked bootloader TWRP, and MultiRecovery (after contacting @AleksJ, of course)) if you want to, feel free to do so.
Regarding EagleXperience, the beta program will be closed and the download will be open to everyone starting tonight.
If you still would like to contact me for assistance on anything, please, do it on the email [email protected] (Yes, I do read them regularly), or, drop me a PM on XDA (which I wish I had time to reply most of the times...)
I am deeply sorry for being silent for so long, but I've had many changes in my life recently, some of them which I am extremely happy of, some of them which I am not, so please, excuse me for this, it wasn't my intention at all.
Have a nice day family, see you on the forums!
No need for such a sad tone!
See you at some other device section, man!
Very sad day.
Can you recommend another M2 rom if we choose to switch?
Thanks for the TWRP recovery
Thank You
@linuxct
Hello linuxct. First of all, thank you very much for your hard work! I admire you since I've successfully root my phone, by using your method. I'm so happy! Also because of you, I've learned how to flash ROM and recovery. I really love using your Z5 STYLE ROM back then. It's fast, smooth and stable!
It's sad to see your Xperia M2 dead. But it's okay, everything has a lifespan. Someday, my Xperia M2 might be dead as well. My volume button (up and down) isn't working well. It's hard to enter flash mode, when I want to flash FTF, because of the faulty volume button. I don't know if there's other way to enter flash mode other than using volume button (hardware buttons). For recovery mode, I manage to enter it easily using ADB mode (with the ADB Pack that you provided), from ADB to fastboot, then boot recovery image. My charger port have been repaired 2 times. I don't know why my charger port is easily damaged. Maybe because I keep playing games while charging. Usually during that time, my device gets really hot, around 70 °C. That might effect my charger port, maybe (or maybe because of rain or faulty USB charger? Who knows).
Again, thank you very much linuxct for everything you've done! You've really help us a lot from rooting to flashing ROM! Good luck and I hope you're doing great in you real life, as a student!
You were a really nice developer. Thank you for giving us the best ROMs. It was really nice having those works of yours. Regards, Sir!

If you're able to unlock your bootloader, CyanogenMod 13.0 is a good solution. If you can't, you can either stay with the LBL roms or go back to stock, since you'll receive the very same support on both of those, that's up to you!

Thank you very much for your answer.
At first I think it must related to SDCard or some device exceed the limitation...
But this ,which normally be a choice to saving more battery power ... now become power "Eater" instead ... - -
Tnhank you xiaojin1985 for your answer. Now we know the solution for the battery drain problem. I usually turn off the phone modul on my Magician because my GSM modul doesn't work. Yesterday I test working of the PDA after your answer with turned on phone and battery drain was normal for couple of hours.
Device is bleeding power
Hi folks!
My device also looses power far too fast. Unfortunately I need to use flight mode for long times since i am flying a lot.
@ Cotulla
Another great job man. But do you see a chance for a workaround of this nasty power problem? Otherwise I need to flash back to previous version.
I am using phone alarm lite on my magician an it shows a power drain of 71mA in flight mode and 75mA in normal mode. But in both modes the power consumtion jumps to much higher values for no obvious reason.
Cheers

If you have my rom installed, you must remove battery from Magician in the plane
If you turn off BT and phone, I can't guarantee you that it's really power off. maybe it's buggy and it's still power on.
This isn't joke, it's serious.

Hi Cotulla!
I can´t remove the battery when flying. I need the PDA when flying.
If just Radio and BT would stay on my magician would only consume the same power as in normal operation. But the powerconsumption is at least 5 times higher. So there must be a serious bug somewhere.

What Cotulla says about removing ( and reinserting) the battery when flying, does not only apply to his ROMs. It applies to all Magician ROMs. Flight mode is not accepted by the most air carriers. Use google and see.

There was never a problem with my magician in flightmode all those years. And the plane was flying as it was supposed to.

Testing 3.04 and R1 the past few days.. it's very very fast compared to 3.03, but today I'm going back to 3.03 for battery life. All the ROMS are great,, just choose the one that best fit your magician. Thanks Cotulla again for all the great ROMS.

Hello
Best Luifriedl
In my comment I refferred to "the most air carriers" and that is what you meet on commercial aricrafts and what you can find out from varius websites. So this is comman practice with a few exeptions.
I have absolutly no idea of what is relevant in your specific case.

Nice. Just set this up on my device as well. Gonna upload my albums later.
I'm using the version of the app posted in this thread and it's working great. It does take quite a while to upload all of the music. For me, about 36 hours for 5000 songs. Songs play flawlessly over wifi (I barely get 3g in my house so it's not really worth testing).

Yeah thanks I've been meaning to do that. Were you able to get yours for free?
i cant seem to get it to install... im on cm7.1
i've tried to install directly from rootexplorer, i tried to copy and paste to system/app via root explorer and still no luck. ive all my music synced/uploaded to the server but i cannot get this app to install.
i even tried deleting the original Music.apk and then installing and still no luck. any help guys?
am i even gong about this the right way?
-cue
EDIT:: figured it out myself. if this can help anyone else, that would make me happy...
i deleted the music.apk and music.odex from system/app and booted into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik, then rebooted. then i changed the com.google.android.music.apk to say Music.apk... used adb to push it to system/app and waited to sync. now i've got all 20,00 tracks on here after all my uploading...
hope this helps someone as that's what i know XDA is for in some ways. just wish i knew as much as some ppl on here so the respect and help would've came my way. we do have quite a few great helpers on here though as well as amazing devs. have fun with your heros and thanks anyway
keep up the good work

Thanks for posting this. Just flashed my Hero to the other day specifically for this service.
I am having trouble getting the library to update on the app when I upload music from my PC. I've all ready checked that auto sync is on for that google account under my settings. Any one else having that problem?
Thanks!
Just as a note to those using this. If you like to flash a lot, then you may have problems syncing. To fix that problem, go to the google music beta website and deauthorize all of the ones that say HERO200 or the like. Restore the app WITHOUT data if using Titanium Backup or by installing the apk again. It will ask you to authorize the account on your phone. Then everything should be fine again.

Not identical, but similar. Ended up being the speakerphone mic, but the solution was to contact Asus and have it repaired under warranty. Might be best to get the ball rolling.

Hard to say. It could be a third party app causing it. Could be something in the system that's corrupt. Could be that the hardware is only shorting out with certain variables lining up.

this is the tencent version i think that was unlocked to load WW firmware
Relocking the bootloader won't make a difference if you're thinking warranty. If you unlocked the phone with the ASUS app, they have registered your IMEI attached to your serial number.
It's better to leave it as is. If it's a hardware issue, there is a good chance they may fix it under the warranty. You can ask them to do a full rebuild of the firmware as well, that will re-lock the bootloader. You can unlock it again..
hi since I bought the 4-44mm watch I wanted some tricks to make the battery last longer. I have everything disabled as always display-step-beat sensor every 10 minutes and so on I can only do 1 day. One more info is there a way to answer you have vowels or to send them?
Well, reading through the huge thread about the battery discussion on this forum, there's not much you do besides debloat it but some people say that debloating made battery life worse and some made it better. As for me it made it better and right now I get about a day and a half of decent use.

You have to read the package names
For example
com.samsung.android.messages
That's Samsungs messages app, and since I prefer Google's messages app over Samsungs I remove that one. So you'll have to read through the list and see if each one is one you want or don't care about. That list is everything you can safely remove and the watch still work. Not every feature work but the watch work. So you have to pick and choose what to get rid of.
spart0n said:
