Galaxy S4 Available in Canada(Bell) on May 3rd

Spoke to a manager today at the Bell store.
They told me they are very sure the phone will be coming to Bell stores on May 3rd. Pricing was not 100% positive but is expected to be around $650 no contact, which is almost identical to the $640 projected for the USA.
(old news) You can pre-order the phone for 50 dollars from most of the various carriers. This is a DOWN PAYMENT.
Just figured I would share since it seems Canada isn't getting too much love Looking forward to the launch
PS. I looked at the Xperia ZL while I was there and it was a very nice phone, I don't get what all the screen fuss is about.

AFAIK Virgin Mobile Canada is getting it on April 26th. I would expect Bell to get it on the same day.

If it's like last year, the phone will be $50.00 cheaper @ Virgin. So get your phone from them if you are with Bell.

Ah, I must have missed that post, thanks. None of the other threads here on XDA have mentioned it.
PS. I did tilt the screen, it wasn't that bad IMO.

Do you have any information about the 32Gb version? Phone reservation is only available for the 16Gb model...

Hmm, Pre-Orders are open now, phoned several bell stores that confirmed they will have them in stock on April 27th.
It will be 699.95 Off contract or 199.95 on a 3 year contract or upgrade.
I cant post links but the infos on bells website

They will only be in stock for those with all the pre - order paperwork AND picture lD. And you must pick up the preorder before May 3. And you must prepay the entire amount. Can't wait!

I was told my a few stores that on april 27th they will get stock, if they get more then alotted to preorders they will sell me one off contract for the 699.95

Videotron has the s4 outright for 649.95 dollars.....

Perhaps it depends on whether it's a Bell Store or another retailer. My receipt is very specific and the service person said for the last pre-order they got only exact numbers.

Best Buy Pre-orders

who else did a best buy pre-order? i was going to do in store pickup, but then i saw a best buy faq page saying
"Q: I never received a notification that my Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge is ready to be picked up, even though I pre-ordered it?
A: If you haven't received notification that your Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge is ready to be picked up it means the store didn't receive enough of the model you pre-ordered to fulfill you pre-order at this time, or they haven't physically reserved your pre-order yet with the inventory they did receive."
and I def didn't wanna chance that..knowing my luck, they wouldn't get it. so i just did shipping.
it says it'll arrive BY release date of march 11th...anyone ever have any experience getting a best buy order before? i never used them for shipping before, so I'm wondering if i'll definitely get it ON march 11th.
pumped, though! played with one at best buy today and it's a nice phone. have my Moto X up for sale (since I use my note 4 so much more than the X) so i'm excited to get it!

I did bb pre order for an iPhone and hopefully Sammy is better. All stores get an allotment. Some for preorder and some walkin.
I cancelled and went to sprint that time. Some preorders were not filled for 5-7 weeks! Again that was an iPhone thing, hopefully Sammy sends out plenty!

Well the reason they didn't get a notification that it's ready to pick up is that it's not been released yet...

I'm also interested to know..if you buy online and ship to your home address will it be shipped on or before 11th? Or will it be after this date?

I mean when you click "when will I get it?" or whatever, it says on release date, 3/11 so I'm guessing they ship out prior..

Response from bestbuy cs said the 11th or the day after is *expected*. They dont know for sure or they cannot say, but most likely they just don't know at the rep level.

I don't know if it means much, but T-mobile has started shipping pre-orders. Mine is scheduled for UPS Next Day Air delivery tomorrow. They don't have to wait to ship, but they won't give you a date before the release date until they actually ship it.

see, that's absolute bs. if you go to best buy right now on the website and check the phone, and clikc "see when you can get it" for shipping, it says:
Get it by:
Release Date, Fri, Mar 11 - FREE
Standard
See final shipping costs in checkout.
so that's plain english stating you WILL get it by release date, correct?
day after won't happen since it's saturday and they definitely aren't doing saturday shipping.
this is just annoying because it needs a signature they claim, so i need to know if i should take off that day or not, ya know?

tmobile is always awesome with shipping phones early. wish best buy would too lol. i'm buying full price, so i didn't bother with verizon...and i know verizon always gets it to you on release date, but i've never pre ordered from best buy.

The Note 5 was the first phone Verizon ever shipped early to most people.Got mine a week early.Hope that was the start of a trend of early shipping by them.

I preordered, then a day later canceled. I wanted the free VR wear and the SD card but I didn't want to get roped into the stupid AT&T's 2 year $26 a month deal

Why didn't you just order the AT&T "unactivated" S7? It still comes with the VR and SD card.

Hmm not sure I saw that. Must have missed it. Is that where you pay upfront full price? I think ultimately I want to see what the models are like when they come out. I currently have tmobile s5 with AT&T sim. May want to buy another tmobile if they're unlocked bootloader. The whole SIM locked phone idea has me wondering though. Ie first sim installed, locks phone to carrier.

Preordered mine thru bestbuy.com hopefully they ship early. T-Mobile is doing so. So anxious!

Best Buy Mobile employee here, the way pre orders are usually explained are that when you pre-order, there is a chance you won't get it on launch day but you WILL get it before someone that just walks in to buy it without one. I personally haven't seen many stores run out of pre-order stock.

I'm 99% sure (at least in my store) you can only do in store pick-up if pre-ordering in store. Haven't heard otherwise about online pre-ordering.
EDIT: The info I posted is for if you are doing it through a contract/installment billing. I think if you get an unlocked or T-Mobile (we don't carry T-Mobile contracted phones in most stores), it's different.

I was contemplating in store pickup until I read that there's a chance they may not have stock for all pre-orders... so i just did shipping. so any idea whether buying full price and getting it shipped should be here early? the chat rep said we'll have it the 11th for sure.

I did the same as you. Paid full price and selected to have it shipped to my house. AT&T version. I went Best Buy over AT&T because Best Buy is typically better about returns and don't charge you any fee, Best Buy offered a free 64 GB microSD card, Best Buy is actually sending out the Gear VRs instead of just sending you a code to get one from Samsung, and finally, I had a $20 Best Buy gift card that I need to use lol. Best Buy is notorious for botching pre-orders, so I'll just be happy if we get it on or by the 11th. I doubt we'll get it early.

well here's hoping they don't botch this. customer service wrote back to me in an email again explaining we will have it delivered on the 11th, so here's hoping!

Free Gear S2

I posted a while ago in a thread I can't remember that I had talked with Verizon online and they told me that the free gear s2 was the 3g model. Yesterday I went into a Verizon store to play with the s7e and asked the rep the same question. He said it was the Bluetooth only model. Either way they both said that it comes directly from Samsung with no requirement to add it to my account which if it was the 3g model then it would cost $5/mo for data. I'm just going to flip it. Thanks for the $300 off big red!

When i pre-ordered my s7e they required the $5/month activation with $175 cancellation to acquire the watch. I have a hard time thinking the its just the bluetooth version due to my required fee but we will see. I figure its easier to not activate it and sell private party and eat the extra $5/month. ($5/24 = $120, cheaper than the $175 to cancel)
Edit: I looked over my receipt and see that its the $300 version gear s2, meaning that it is the Bluetooth model. Once I receive it, I will go into store, play dumb and cancel it saying that i thought i needed it for the watch.

Well jeez, I wish they would be consistent. I'm going to call them soon and get another opinion.
Edit: just got off the phone with them. Its the 3g model ($299 is the contract price). And It will cost $5/mo even if I never use it or give it away so I'm going with the vr headset. I have a moto 360 and don't consider the s2 an upgrade, and so I'm not willing to pay anything let alone $120 for it.

You guys are confusing me. I thought you need the phone first so that you can register it with your imei number? Then you pick either the Gear VR or the S2 and it ships from Samsung in 4 to 6 weeks (basically confirming that you still have the phone after the return period).
You guys are buying the watch directly from Verizon; not getting it free from Samsung! The S2 even shows up in Samsungs rules section 4. It's a Verizon S2 promo but through Samsung.

3/4 the page will go live. You have to give the receipt, Mac Address, and ECID/IMEI. Then you can pick which part of Verizon promo you want. This is a Verizon promo which is run through Samsung. You will get the 3G model, and there is no contract required for it(Just like with all promos if a contract is required it will say it in the promotion rules).

Thank you for confirming Tidbits! But even if the page goes live on 3/4 us Verizon users are basically stuck in a holding pattern until we receive the phone right? We won't have access to the MAC or IMEI until we have the phones in hand next week (unless Verizon delivers before 3/11).

Correct you need the phone for the Mac Address. Also the reason why you wait 4 weeks is to lock you in so you can't refund. 30 days(California). Just food for thought.

Where in the promotion rules does it say that it's the 3g model? I can't find it. I just don't know which rep to believe, I'll probably call again when I have the phone in hand. Thanks for your opinion though.

Do you think Verizon would not give you the 3G model when they can probably convince at least 1/3 of them to get a plan for it? Samsung is selling both models for the same price right now. you know how Verizon loves money.

Yeah, at this point I'm hoping Samsung gives out more information on the 4th. Even if I get a VZW rep to corroborate your opinion, I'm going to have a hard time believing them when three reps have said three different things already. Hopefully Samsung has the details.

Retail value 349.99. There is only one Gear S2 that cost that much and that's the 3G version which I listed. If the retail value was $299.99 then it would be the bluetooth model.

I already got my free s2...bad news is when I called in to pre-order they messed up. They weren't supposed to discount one, I was supposed to wait. But they did and I got a free s2 with 3g from verizon. I can still get the offer from samsung as well.

Verizon has both versions of the s2 listed fur $299.99 on their website.

The 3G version $299.99 price is with Contract. Without which is retail $349.99

The number of gifts are limited and you already received a gift. The moral and ethical choice would be to inform Verizon of their mistake or not claim a gift.

Verizon already know that the reps messed up but caught if early enough that they didn't lose to much.

I ordered mine over the phone and with my emailed receipt it shows that my free watch will be coming with my phone on 3/11. I will screenshot the receipt.

It is the 3g model which is $300 with contract and $350 without. I called to check my order and they confirmed for me.

Maybe to get the watch from Samsung sure, but Verizon is shipping mine to me on 3/11, with my s7e

You sure it's the watch and not a "voucher" to get a watch. T-Mobile receipt has some that appears like you are getting the gear but as you can see in all those unboxing videos none of them have gotten their gears.

On my order it along side my s7e which logically means i should be receiving them at the same time (3/11), I guess i just have to wait to see. only 10 more days. I do remember the person on the phone saying that both items will be shipped at the same time, but we all know how reps are.

When and where samsung will start selling frontier LTE version?

Its been announced the frontier and classic version, but not the frontier LTE version. In amazon.de (deustchland) are available for preorder, but no the LTE version

As far as I'm aware, the LTE version will be available with the non-LTE on the same day here in the US.

Some help I thought the Frontier was LTE just ordered one the other day well pre order.
Or are the 3 watches, Classic, Frontier and Frontier LTE???

It's very confusing. I've preordered too but can see nothing on the Samsung UK website to confirm whether their Frontiers are LTE models.

Thats the real 4G frontier, I think samsung its scamming his costumers not telling that the version they are buying isnt 4G. The 4G LTE version it will be distributed by mobile companies not by classic retailers because needs E-sim. I suspect so, if it is the case then i may return the watch. But to be honest being the the UK they never offered the S2 LTE version or others.
I doubt i will use the feature, moreso as it kills battery and i always carry my mobile.

The gear s2 classic 3g was offered on o2 for a short while so hopefully the s3 frontier will be as well.

It's very confusing. I've preordered too but can see nothing on the Samsung UK website to confirm whether their Frontiers are LTE models.

I mailed Samsung UK asking if the Frontier watch I preordered came with LTE.
I have their answer...
...They don't know :laugh:
They suggest I keep an eye on their website for updates on the spec.
Got to admire their style.

Pre-ordered mine on Amazon this morning, but it already disappeared from existence on Amazon.com. Even when I click on my email order confirmation, I get taken to a "Sorry, we couldn't find that page" page. (And the "Buy it again" button takes gives me an "unavailable" pop-up)
Also interesting, supposedly mine will be delivered Wednesday the 9th, but then it says, "Release date: Tuesday, January 31st, 2017"?! Fingers crossed...

Ya, that whole disappearing thing and the 31st release date kind of makes me nervous. I emailed Amazon, but haven't heard back yet.

They've changed their minds. Reports now say everyone's getting it on Nov. 18 - but my Amazon order now says Feb 2, 2017!! Also, odd that it's going to be $350 everywhere else, but $382 on Amazon?! Guess I'll be canceling that order...
(They did send me an "order update" email saying I could refuse it or return it if it comes too late. Yeah, I HOPE to have one before February!)

Ordered mine from AT&T for $249 with 2 yr contract. To be delivered 11/18.

I'm waiting for Verizon to allow preorders. If not I have a friend who works at Verizon, maybe they will hold onto one for me until I stop by. I'd rather preorder it but Verizon isn't smart enough to do preorders it seems...

Does anyone know if the e-sim from At&t will work and can be activated on T-Mobile's network?

Canadian Carriers Pre-Order Shipping and Waiting Room

Since there are a lot of American and Europe threads on pre-ordered waiting rooms, I've decided to create one for us Canadians who have Koodo, Telus, Rogers, Bell, etc.
For me, I have Koodo. I ordered the Midnight Black Samsung S8 on March 31st. My delivery date says April 17th which is four days earlier than the folks down south. It will be interesting if we do get it that early.
How is everyone's order going thus far? Koodo unfortunately, does not have any tracking system, so I have to wait for an email to popped up in my inbox saying it has shipped. Not being able to check what stage it's on sucks big time.
Feel free to post on how your process is going!

Im telus preordered last week.
Mine says will be delivered as early april 17.
Guess we have to just wait and see.

First time pre-ordering a phone from a carrier. I usually buy it straight from the company but Koodo has a neat Tab system. Paid $700 down and the remaining $350 gets spread out over two years ($15/Month). But then again, I can pay off that $350 anytime.

Rogers phoned me yesterday to let me know the store has received my device and I can pick it up on the 17th Monday morning.

I know people on Rogers and Fido who got their calls that the phone is in and can be picked up on Monday.
I opted for Rogers' "pay now and get it early" option and it looks like mine isn't even getting shipped out until Monday. That's the first and last time I go for that option.

Got my email confirmation! Doesn't say the delivery date yet but I'm sure it's Monday like the rest of you!

Ordered mine from samsung.com lets see if i'll get it this year... maybe i should of went to the store.

It's super smooth and fast.
Let's see how it fairs over time knowing Samsungs history
Feels great in hand S8+
Seeing a little pink/purple tinge in panel which is normal just hope it doesn't get too bothersome...will vary device to device
Had read it had brightest screen of any phone ever...will have to see
Keen on seeing what screen on time I can get tomorrow during normal usage...setting it up as we speak
