Im coming from a note 4, been using strictly note series since the note one. First sony phone i use, my question is how do to get the fingerprint scanner to function. I read somewere you can flash the uk version firmware and it will work. So is there a rom that has the uk version firmware built in? I still havent unlock the bootloader or rooted it. Still looking into that havent seen any real good guide on how to root.

TThaks for that, then after i follow that process i can then install an rom and it would still be active?
You can just install a xda developer rom and you'll have the fingerprint working... That process is if you want the stock rom

Hello all!
Seems a basic question and I did a search around, but didn't find a exact answer.
I have a Samsung Exhibit II 4G/T679 which came with carrier's ROM. So lots of undesired applications and some blocks (tethering, for example).
Instead of going to a modified ROM (which can be an alternative, of course), I'm wondering if there is available anywhere the official ROM release by Samsung for this model. Since there is the unlocked model from Samsung, I assume there is a official ROM from them (carrier independent).
Does anybody know where to download this official ROM?
Thanks!
If I am not mistaken, no. But we have some great Roms for this phone check them out. Trust me you don't want stock.

Thanks for your answer!
I wanted the stock mainly because some applications that I use explicitly say they don't run on "rooted or moded roms". So installing one of those customs roms would prevent me from using those applications. Maybe installing the stock one released by Samsung (on unlocked phones) the application would accept that.
Any idea or suggestion?
Seems obvious, but link was not so easy to find...
Here is the stock ROM for this model (attention: not carrier shipped, but manufactured shipped, rooted):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Exhibit_II_4G#Flash_Back_to_Stock
In my case it's still not the right solution since I have a carrier-shipped ROM and I would need to have this ROM back if they need to provide any service.

How is it not the right solution?
What applications are you trying to keep on stock ROM that you're convinced won't work on a custom ROM

Because my phone has the carrier-custom ROM, not the clean manufacture one.
So if I have to send the phone back to carrier, they will notice the ROM was changed. This one I couldn't find...
I'm thinking about using CWM Recovery to backup the ROM. But... then the CWM will replace original Recovery System, so it's a signal that ROM was changed too...

It's my office app. Somehow they have explicit lock on custom or rooted phones (maybe for security). I already tried to install on another moded phone and it doesn't work. Only with factory or recognized ROMS.
I don't know how they identify that... but it happens!
I have an ODIN Stock ROM for the SE2, when thats flashed it takes away root and completly restores the phone to out of the box state.
want it?
The carrier is Tmobile.

Sounds good! Thanks! Is this the ROM that comes with TMobile version of the phone? Or the unlocked clean version from Samsung?
Tmobile version out of the box. Uploading now. (will be about 6 hours thanks to slow internet! D: oi)

Thank you very much. Did you produce this ROM? I was unable to find anywhere...
No I didnt.
Iv had it in my downloads folder foreverr and I use it alot for when I soft brick and need to use a jig.
Since the jig puts my phone into download/ODIN mode, Iv always saved that folder cause it is ODIN friendly.
Why don't you just flash to what ever you wont and not worry about it and then if you were to have to ship it back to to t-mobile just use the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Exhibit_II_4G and flash back to stock. Because I am sure that is what he is uploading.
her.

HI There. Its not always easy to tell but how can I determine that I am running the latest firmware/baseband for my tmob note 5.
I currently have N920tuvu1a0ge
as there been an update since.
Yes, just go into setting> aboutphonr and software update and you should get ~3 or 4 updates lol
Unless you're rooted. Then the latest is OJ5 I think
I'm rooted so I can't do that

I had that problem too, along with lots of lag. The reason is because you have the Noble kernel. Flash SkyHigh instead as the Noble kernel is very buggy.

Hi,
Recently got a Galaxy S7 (up from Note 5)....
Came to the XDA forums and theres absolutely no custom ROMs out for this device....
Why is this so? figured this device would be pretty popular?
Will this trend continue or will some appear soon?
Cheers
The reason is the device is still quite new and the developer friendly snapdragon version is all bootloader locked and can't be rooted, let alone flashing custom rom.

I'm waiting for a rooted stock rom (exynos) :/

True the phone has only been out for about 20~ days or so. But generally theres at the very least a stock ROM with root and a few of the other adjustments and alterations made to it by now.

Should try the TWRP + Root (SuperSu) function available on the ROMS and KERNELS forum. Worked fine for my new S7.
Just install xposed, that should feed your thirst for the time being.

yeah I already have twrp and root installed, just saw that there are newer firmwares available already and don't want to go through the whole process again.
installing an already rooted stock rom would be easier than having to go back to stock recovery etc...
let's hope rooted stock roms aren't far. if I knew anything how to do it myself I'd try my luck in making one

Okay, like how did you get to that point, and how can I do the same?
Is there any real advantage to running MM instead of LP?
I'd probably lose the ability to install ViPER4Android if I went to MM and that would not be good, so there would have to be solid advantages to having MM.

Doze to give you better battery management , a lot of apps now are only compatible with lollipop and up.
But its your choice if you are happy with JB you can stick with it.

Lol, I made a typo!
Not JB, I have LP. See my signature.
I use Leandroid. Doze would be inferior anyway.
I'll edit the post.

Hello, I am thinking of getting this phone but I'm worried about not being able to update to 6.0. I currently have the OnePlus One and I'm on 6.0 and I love all the new features. To get M working on this do I have to simply, unlock the bootloader, root the phone, install custom recovery (TWRP) and then download the rom + gapps to make it work? That is the standard process for other phones, I just want to make sure I won't have any issues before I buy the phone.
Thanks for your help in advance.

salam
i do B326 to B511 all thing are good but i see 2 notes:
1 - i don't find my explorer internet .
2- i don't find my loupe.
If you want to try MM on Mate 7, you start with a standard phone. Stock recovery etc. Just drop the genuine Huawei update or stock ROM into the dload folder on SD card and start update from the OS running normally. Can also start update in recovery mode.
Have to be very careful to only use an update or ROM that is compatible though. If you use the wrong one it bricks the OS. I think differences in CUST folder, maybe partition sizes and such.

I would recommend getting the phone, but still sticking with the OP1 for a while, as you will definitely not appreciate EMUI. There's this really awesome guy working on getting Cyanogenmod 13 running on the device. He just made a massive breakthrough with getting GPU drivers running, so it can be anything from a few more days to weeks before we have a stable-enough build.
Check out his thread for more details and updates.
Prepare your devices fellas , 7.1.1 is about to roll out cause there's an article on bgr said so
I personally wanna wait 'til Xposed is compatible for nougat.

I don't see how a benchmark entry suddenly means official Nougat is rolling out anyway.
Yeah, that headline is hyperbole. It's a good indicator that it's getting closer. Not that it is about to our is rolling out.
Oh look, another Nougat roll out thread with the same image as all of the others.

Your Phone will give the message that there is an update to new software. But as soon you will try to install it, it will fail.
OTA can't be installed on custom recovery, you need te be on stock rom, stock recovery and unrooted.
There are a few posts on the general section to go back to scratch, or just wait till a developer makes an stock based rom on 7.1.

Do you mean FlashFire? flashfire warns you that Motorola devices are Experimental.
Isn't it risky to from 6 to 7 with flashfire? And sure you may not have Xposed Framework installed.

Flashfire is of course what I meant, Doh on my part!! Never had any issues with it working with my Moto X Style. I would imagine that Motorola have factored in that the majority of their users will still be running an out of date version of Android and that it will go from 6 to 7 with little if any issues. I'll be giving it a try from a custom 7.1.1 rom first before wiping my device and trying it that way, once (if!) it comes out of course.
