Okay, like how did you get to that point, and how can I do the same?

Is there any real advantage to running MM instead of LP?
I'd probably lose the ability to install ViPER4Android if I went to MM and that would not be good, so there would have to be solid advantages to having MM.

Doze to give you better battery management , a lot of apps now are only compatible with lollipop and up.
But its your choice if you are happy with JB you can stick with it.

Lol, I made a typo!
Not JB, I have LP. See my signature.
I use Leandroid. Doze would be inferior anyway.
I'll edit the post.

Hello, I am thinking of getting this phone but I'm worried about not being able to update to 6.0. I currently have the OnePlus One and I'm on 6.0 and I love all the new features. To get M working on this do I have to simply, unlock the bootloader, root the phone, install custom recovery (TWRP) and then download the rom + gapps to make it work? That is the standard process for other phones, I just want to make sure I won't have any issues before I buy the phone.
Thanks for your help in advance.

salam
i do B326 to B511 all thing are good but i see 2 notes:
1 - i don't find my explorer internet .
2- i don't find my loupe.

If you want to try MM on Mate 7, you start with a standard phone. Stock recovery etc. Just drop the genuine Huawei update or stock ROM into the dload folder on SD card and start update from the OS running normally. Can also start update in recovery mode.
Have to be very careful to only use an update or ROM that is compatible though. If you use the wrong one it bricks the OS. I think differences in CUST folder, maybe partition sizes and such.

I would recommend getting the phone, but still sticking with the OP1 for a while, as you will definitely not appreciate EMUI. There's this really awesome guy working on getting Cyanogenmod 13 running on the device. He just made a massive breakthrough with getting GPU drivers running, so it can be anything from a few more days to weeks before we have a stable-enough build.
Check out his thread for more details and updates.

Things missing and not working in Lolipop Roms.....

So I recently got my LG G3 and love it. I immediately rooted and flashed a Lolipop rom. I am making this thread in hopes of figuring out a few features that I am missing or someone else has already discovered.
1. How do you get the long button press on the back button to kill apps (I have it enabled in developer console but it does nothing. Tried a few 3rd party apps too. Still nothing)
2. Has anyone created or modified the xposed framwork to work on lolipop yet?
3. Is there a way to have a hard button for the camera built into the rom? (Currently now I have a app that allows me to bind it. I have it set to double tapping the down button to open the camera)
Thanks,
Alan
Belongs in q&a section.... But anyways.
1. Unless there is a ROM that has it built in then no..I haven't seen it
2.No
3. No not that I've seen in lollipop.

ATT still no update to me.And no tot leaked. So no new modem..
I continue to have a problem with the lock screen freezing
When the phone sleeps, the screen will wake up , but I cannot swipe up to use the phone
This happens with several of the lp ROMs. Any suggestions? I do not have a password setup on the lock screen.
Thanks.

There is ROM support and the 2 custom ROMs you are using prove that. D850 has only had the ability for custom ROMs for about 4 months so you need to give it time.
As far as AT&T update, are you referring to Lollipop? You need to be on stock KK to get the OTA. Stock Lollipop now has a means to root and use TWRP. Go to the LOUNGE in the general section to find out more.

Xposed
Xposed framework is also available it's in alpha or beta phase can't remember which but it seems very stable on my phone also its not like the traditional xposed installer you have to flash a zip file then install xposed installer apk. I also have problems with 5ghz WiFi bands sometimes they show up sometimes they don't typically they aren't there though.

help! lollipop clock for kitkat

hello, so i upgraded my nexus 5 to cm12 as soon as it was stable. i fell in love with everything that lollipop has to offer but became dependent on the clock. im not a morning person and often have a bit of trouble getting up for school/work. the clock made it easier to get up and i loved the shake to snooze function. i recently upgraded to an ascend mate 7 and gave away my N5 to my dad. cm12 is not available for my mate7 so i have had to use the stock clock but i really want that lollipop clock.
i downloaded the stock lollipop clock but it seems to lack the features that i want. so, can someone help me find either a cm12 or aosp lollipop clock that works on kitkat? i have looked all over the internet and have had no luck. i really love my mate7 but im starting to want my N5 (only due to CM12). thanks in advance for any and all help!

yes, when i tried that it wouldnt install. is the shake function only available for those running lollipop? or is that something that is baked into cyanogen?

Is anybody still using Z3 on KitKat 4.4.4?

Like in the topic.
In call volume is the main concern.
Thanks
I'm still on KitKat... refused the Lollipop update. No issues with in call volume... definitely loud enough.
Same here. Never was a fan of lollipop's look. Still snappy since i got it first few weeks it came out. Battery still strong. No probs with in call volume either. Notification volume is louder from what i read also.
As it turns out, speed difference and real world performance is nil if any. Looking back, kk may be the windows xp version of android, light and quick vs heavier fancier more features of newer versions to come.
Check it out!

Hi guys, just bought a 6653, i'am about to root it via firmware downgrade, and wonder, after root, should i flash :
the last KK 4.4 23.0.1.A.5.77
OR GO FOR
the last LP 5.1.1 23.4.A.0.546
Does it really worth upgrading to 5.1.1?
Thanks for your answers, cheers
Iam also still on rooted KK, runs perfectly with Greenify and Amplify. Up to 8h DOT with 70% Brightness on 3 Days.
Never change a running System.

I downgraded after trying lollipop. My reception is 100% worse at home and also got the mobile radio active bug when out and about on data on both 5.0.2 and 5.1.1. Shame, because otherwise the OS is really slick and smooth. Oh well.

Lollipop was worse. I tried fullwipe installation of 5.1.1 but still had those issues mentioned. When I downgraded I had an old TWRP backup so I just deleted everything but storage in TWRP and restored the backup and it seems to be fine for me. Though flashing an official FTF 4.4.4 might be better to just make sure but I'm a bit too lazy for that right now lol.
Im on 4.4.4
Love it. But I would like to try 5.1.1 on my D6616... Can't find a pre_rooted flashable.zip though.

I just downgrade my Z3 from LP 5.1.1 to KK 4.4.4. Yes, use that method from that link. But be extra cautious while using the Flashtool to downgrade to KK 4.4.4. REMEMBER to WIPE App Info, Cache and User Data at the top right of Flashtool. I forgot about it and my phone went to Bootloop problem. Had a hard time on figuring out on how to stop the bootloop. If anyone forget about it and went to bootloop, just totally switch off the Z3 by pressing power + up vol together. Then run Flashtool again. This time round don't mind about USB Debugging etc cause you cant go in anyway.
Almost 3 weeks on Kitkat 23.0.1..5.77
Its very fast and smooth, wonder if LP would give me any improvement (or disadvantage) ?
I'm also back on KK after 5.0 and 5.1 stints. I had all the classic problems associated with Lollipop whereas KK is rock solid.

Just got the sony xz the us version.

Im coming from a note 4, been using strictly note series since the note one. First sony phone i use, my question is how do to get the fingerprint scanner to function. I read somewere you can flash the uk version firmware and it will work. So is there a rom that has the uk version firmware built in? I still havent unlock the bootloader or rooted it. Still looking into that havent seen any real good guide on how to root.

You can just install a xda developer rom and you'll have the fingerprint working... That process is if you want the stock rom

Install Life is Strange on Fire OS 5.6.2.0

Hi guys, I would like to try and play the android port of Life is Strange on my Fire HD 10. The problem is, that the game requires android 6/ marshmallow as the minimum OS. As you know the Fire HD 10 can't go beyond Android 5.x, so I thought about rooting it and changing the build.prop file and make my device appear to be another version and hope that that works... but is it even possible to root Fire OS 5.6.2.0 ? And if yes, do you think it would work that way or I might at least be able to install the game? Or is there a way to install this game for android 6 on the Fire without root ? That would be my most prefered choice at least
Looking forward to get some of your guys thoughts on this !

A few on here have confirmed that rooting 5.6.2.0 works. Might just take a few tries. As far as that a particular game I have not a clue, it might require some features in mm that lt simply doesn't have. There is a likely a very good reason for the minimum os limitation they put on it.

Thanks for your reply! Could rooting the HD 10 cause apps to stop working, because they detect root ? Or will still all apps from the PlayStore work ? (assuming I'd actually manage to sucessfully root on 5.2.6.0)
btw I have the 2017 version if that matters, which guide would I have to follow if I wanna root it ? Can I use the guide for the 2016 one aswell or do I have to use a specific one for 2017 and if so which one ?
Thank you in advance!

There are a few apps out there that won't run if they detect root, but the majority of apps from the play store still work.

Yeah I rooted it already and everything is working fine so far, except I still can't play the game sadly. Kinda sucks that the fire is stuck at android 5.1... makes me wonder if I should rather have bought the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 which is very similiar spec wise but runs Marshmallow. Well, I haven't yet given up yet, I still think there must be a way, I just don't know which. I tried modifying the apk and chaning my fire's build.prop and that way I could actually press on "install" regarding the apk, but then I got another error, so I am as far as I was before. :crying:
