Topic - as soon as I switch, the camera app will display an error about "no connection to camera" and exit. Am I the only one facing this issue?

I'd contact support if I were you. I feel like we'd have heard about this by now if it was common. For sure sounds like a bad connection inside the phone or something.
Yeah, did that. Getting a new one

I haven't seen this topic on here yet. Nothing major and probably first batch component problem I guess. Factory reset doesn't help and it has to go through unit replacement.

Hi
Anyone having an issue with the stock flashlight app on the new Lollipop 5.0 not turning on
As a person working in IT and with crappy eye sight, this app really is a must for me.
A reboot of the phone will fix it, but by then the need for the light will normally have passed as I'll just ask someone around me for help
Found this was happening on the preview l as well, thought it they have sorted it in the finished release.
Cheers
Paul
What's wrong with the flashlight?
You don't really say the issue you have. but the flashlight works fine for me

Im asking to see if the light does in fact work. If the light doesn't work with the camera either, then your light may be broken
The issue is intermittent and a quick reboot always fixes the issue. I must check the next time it goes, if the camera is broke as well

I have no idea what could cause that. My flashlight comes on every time I toggle it. Tesla LED (I think that's the name of it) is a good flashlight app in the Play Store if you want to try a third party app and see if it works better for you
Yup. I posted about this. When it refuses to work try open the camera app. It'll say cannot connect to camera

Most likely its a camera issue then. The flash LED and the camera software are connected.
Only rebooting fixes it that I've found so far. Seems to happen after using the flashlight for a long time

From what Ben36 is saying, it seems to be caused my leaving the flashlight on for a long period of time. So I would say it's a bug in the system that Google needs to fix. Try other apps like the one I mentioned and see if you get the same issue.

Had a similar issue today, flashlight turned off for no reason, then refused to turn back on until i restarted the phone.
never happened to me before until today and the only difference was that the phone was charging now.
I can say I am also having this issue and hopefully a fix is on the way unless cm does it first...

My phone is not starting the rear camera, gives an error message saying that it has failed to connect to camera, did hardware check and it failed, what could the problem be?

Did you check if the camera works in CIT? If not check if your rear camera works there. To get into CIT mode you have to go into settings and click on about phone and click on Kernel version 4 times. This will put you into an app called FQC Test, scroll down and you will find back camera, test both Master and Vice camera. If the camera doesn't work there then it is most likely a hardware issue and you will have to send your phone back to Xiaomi. If the camera does work then it the Camera app that's glitching out and you just have to clear the cache and the data of the camera app. Tell me if this fixes your issue and makes your camera work without displaying error messages.

This isn't the forum for Redmi Note S but still...
This is probably a hardware issue but in the rare case that this has something to do with the software, try formatting the device and reinstalling MIUI. If that doesn't work try a different cam like Gcam. If that doesn't help try a custom ROM and if that also doesn't help I highly suggest you give the service centre a visit.

I have done the test and it failed on a few cameras, master back failed, vice back passed, front passed, twin back failed, so am guessing its a hardware problem

Oh yes, sure do report back..
It's not the same the SOC is different and if you tested it in CIT and it failed it's better to call the customer care and report your problem there.

There is a dedicated forum for your device, do check for further solutions there.
Also give a visit to the service centre, this is probably covered under warranty

That's correct. The error gets triggered from server you try to connect to.
I talked to the customer care representative. He informed me that the problem is occurring for all customers world wide. This is a server problem from their side. They are trying to fix the problem. It'll be fixed after some time. Although he didn't exactly mentioned how much it is going to require, he said 'shortly'.
Also, I wonder if Motorola Tvs are affected or not!! Can anyone verify this? Are the Motorola tvs affected as well? Or this is just the 4K media sticks?
