I don't think you can boot into stock recovery after the 6.0 update so what is the best technique to install this OTA manually?

Try making a call and see man
I wouldve done son, but im at work and will need to go home to flash this

Do you by chance have the drivers to get lg up to recognize the v10 . The version of lg up I found googling it doesn't seem to be recognizing my phone.

What are you guys seeing in About phone after installing the update? I'm not positive if I did it right.... It first went into download mode, then into recovery and installed it. But I am still showing 20j. I loaded the update zip from this thread in LG Up and checked fota upgrade and hit start. It took a good 10 minutes to install, and then booting up optimizing apps for another 10-15 mins.... so it definitely did something

Yes to do the upgrade. However I had a heck of a time getting the lgup tool to recognize my device. Had to do a bunch of Google research until I finally found some solutions. Once I get it to recognize i just followed the parameters from the screen shot and all worked like a charm. Been running it for a while now. Seeing a pretty big improvement in all around battery life and the call out bug where it doesn't ring is solved. So I very happy with this update.

Cool, glad to hear it seems to be a good update! I'm hoping it may eliminate some lag I've been seeing in the past couple months as well. For the first several months this phone seemed great, but lately I've seen a fair amount of lag here and there, when opening apps or just navigating the OS.
Sent from my LG-H901 using XDA-Developers mobile app

I got it to 20l now, even tho LGUp said the update had stopped unexpectedly. It did finish.

Anyone find a root method for this update yet?

Cant see this update
I dont see this OTA listed on the Tmobile website, and even LG bridge says there is none
Is this a legit update? Can I get some sources as to where its being listed on LG?

Also this is funny....

YouTube WONT open

YouTube appears to be broke on my phone. Which is weird because I haven't seen a single thread so far about this issue. It works fine on my mom's Moto X however.
Running Franco.kernel-r35 PA-4.1BETA 2
I tried wiping data and cache for the app, converting to system → user → system, uninstalled all together, tried the dog bone Version of YouTube too and that crashes too and downgrading to the version before the dog bone made it work.
Sooooo thinking maybe the latest update would work finally I updated it and boom back to square one. Does anyone have issues with the latest version of YouTube like I do?
I have seen similar reviews on Google play saying it won't open and force close before it starts up.

I downloaded it as soon as it was available. Setup with my bank (supported) and can't wait to try it out. Going to get some odd looks today due to the magnetic transfer feature. I did get the code for the wireless charger/phone case. I'm going to get the charger just have to wait for them to come back into stock.

Best roms

Finally upgraded and got back into the note. It's been a while since I rooted and flashed Roms and I was hoping for a ton of work in this section. I took the upgrade now I'm with MM 6.0.1 and I'm looking for best Roms to use. Basically asking for opinions. I'm familiar with Jovy and Sbreem like I said. It's just been a while. I'm into the aosp look and feel.
Sent from my SM-N920T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Darthstalker. Hands down. I have used the Lollipop version and now the Marshmallow version. I've had Android phones since the HTC Hero and Darthstalker ranks among the most stable and feature filled ROMs I've used and doesn't sacrifice speed for the flexibility either.
You won't find AOSP so just use a launcher. Exynos chips make AOSP very difficult to pull off. Anything that has been made tends to be rather unstable.
Now as for my recommendation of Darthstalker, that's my personal opinion. I would spend a day trying various ROMs until you find what suits you. There aren't a lot of options for the Note5.
Just tried CM13 unofficial (page 44 on CM13 fundraiser, note 5 general) it's not quite stable, but it's so close. It still needs allot of dev/troubleshooting love and support.

It's only for the SM-N920T so yes I did. If they don't use TWRP's built in file manager to erase system/lib/omx and lib64/omx after installing the ROM and GAPPS, it won't boot that was clearly stated in the announcement. It booted just fine for me. ResurrectionRemix(also for the n920t) is having issues. Rom boots but gets stuck. Edited because it is less user error, although there's still allot of user error. Like all the people whom are mad because it won't boot on there n920x when the op clearly says it is only got the n920t.

Thanks guy's. I appreciate the feedback. If there wasn't a lot to chose from I was going to go with Jovy anyway. Long time buddy of mine. Just gotta knock off the webs. Hope their is more development in this section for our device.

2. Hold the power key, home button, and volume up button for 3 seconds.
3. Boot into recovery mode
4. Wipe cache 3 times and reboot
5. Try to manually update your phone.
