So has anyone found a tempered glass protector that actually fits the XL? All seem to be narrow and not covering the whole screen.
Narrow is good. Rather narrow then halos.
Which ones are what you call "too narrow"? Because that's the one I want to buy. (Seriously asking - haha)
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Zagg sold at verizon store covers screen but not bezel. Should work with any case.
I have the zagg, it is way too narrow and still halos...awful.
I bought the amFilm brand on Amazon, it's 8 bucks for two protectors. The product is okay. It's smaller than the front of the device by about .125" all around to prevent halo effect from the curved glass edges on the Pixel. It has a notch for the ffc and earpiece and a hole punched out for the.... whatever that is just above the screen. Because the devices screen curves away from the protector right at the edges it makes the edges of the protector feel much more pronounced and thicker. That would be my only beef but honestly, I'm not sure how any manufacturers can avoid that unless they put a much more significant curved edge on the protector but then it will taper to an edge so thin it will potentially cut or crack too easily.... this one does have ever slight halo around edge but on white it doesnt show up.

Can you post a picture of the glass screen protector after installation?
Thanks in advance!
Well i bought into these glass protectors and i picked up these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M0HDJGP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These glass protectors are F!_!CKING terrible, they are pretty much the same as every other offering on amazon currently aside from the plastic ones.
Excuse the IPA behind the protector i use this to align protectors and let it evaporate after installation but dam why the hell do you people buy these !
1. There is a 2mm gap around the actual screen, so its going to fill up with **** in a matter of hours.
2. Due to not going above the sensors and FF camera these bits are going to fill up with **** also
3. The things are so thick its already beginning to peel up after 1 day of being on there ! along the top and the top quarter on the left side of the device.
4. after the IPA evaporated away the touch sensitivity is piss poor !
Right back to plastic protectors as soon as they arrive, ill never believe anyone who swears by these things again it was **** on my 6P and **** on my XL
STAY WELL AWAY !
Looks like the general consensus is favorable towards IntelliArmor.
Has anyone received their GSP from @intelliARMOR yet? Can you post pictures of post installation?
Here's my screen protector. When my phone isn't in my hands, it is in this thing. I can't stand any of those bubble riddle crappy screen protectors. I bought this thing on Amazon 4 or 5 years ago and it has served as phone protection for my last three phones.
Anyone have a picture of the zagg installed ?
I bought one from Verizon but haven't opened the box yet .
I am contemplating returning it based off of the feedback here .

Promised to do a review on this screen protector, so paulo this one's for you. Haha. Well I've had this screen protector on for about 4 weeks now, and I absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend it, especially for those on a budget. A $5.95 well spent.
Pros:
Dry application
Precise cut outs
Great touch responsiveness (Swyping with this bad boy is a breeze.)
No fingerprints
No smudges
Better visibility in sunlight
Looks sexy lol
Cons:
Took me 2 out of the 3 protectors to get it on right, or without bubbles. Maybe I'm just not good at that.
Screen quality degradation (This is expected with a anti-glare/matte screen protector. There is some pixelation, which is really noticeable on white backgrounds.)
You can but it HERE.
Pictures that took me forever.

Thanks for the review. I already ordered mine and just wanted to check out some more images of it. Out of curiosity, what case are you using? Also is there a notice gap between the protector and the lip of the case? The first few images make it seem like it, but the rest make the gap appear small.

I'm guessing you are taking about the difference between this picture of the screen protector:
vs
Well there are two reasons.
1. I didn't apply the screen protector perfectly. You can also see the little bubbles created by dust left on the screen. So I took it off, and tried again.
2. Two different cases. I doubt this affects it, however, considering I switch the cases out per week and the gap between the screen protector and the case doesn't increase or shrink.
I have two cases. The white one the Mercury TPU Nexus 4 case(comes in many different colors), and the black one is the Acase Superleggera Pro Hybrid dual layer Nexus 4 case(also comes in different assortments).
I'm also using this screen protector and I love it too, great price ya can't go wrong with these. ????

I bought this screen protector 3 months ago but never used it, as it looks like a hassle to apply if it takes going through most of them to get one that is applied properly. I just kept the stock plastic protector on mine; maybe after that gets destroyed I will give it a try.

its pretty simple just be quick, and i would day do it in the restroom, less dust in the air. always works for me.
I've installed countless screen protectors for me and friends. For the wet ones, you definitely want to be in a steamy bathroom as that helps settle the dusts. The dry ones, need to be done quickly. You can slip a small piece of tape between the screen and the screen protector to grab some of the dust. The stickiness of the tape beats the static force created by the protector. Not sure of its technical name.
My silliest method was to put the phone in the middle, on top of a fan blowing air upwards. That way it created a space where dust will not be. It worked perfectly.

i`m surprised that there is no bubbling at the edges at the price the Halo is selling... or is it not caught on the picture?
I assume this will be the same for the glossy version?

I mean, I guess there is. But to notice the bubbling you would have to nitpicking or looking in with a magnifying glass (not really). I'd say the bubbling on the side is about .25 cm from the edge. Really slight, and with my case on you can't notice it.
Slightly off topic, but what case is that on your N4 OP?

I know there is a "Tempered Glass Screen Protector" thread, but since those seem to be ineffective ATM.... Also please leave tempered glass discussion and info in the other thread.
Has anyone tried a dry application or wet application screen protector on your Moto X? I like how wet fit protectors seem to mold perfectly to the phone, but they always feel rubbery which I hate. Dry applied protectors seem to suffer from the same issue the tempered glass protectors do, they don't hold down on the curved edges of the screen.
Has anyone tried anything they like?
I'm using dry protectors sold by Verizon. Sticks very will for me. But it is a fingerprint/smudge magnet!

Any similar to zagg yet?
Since zagg hasn't made one for the moto x 2nd gen, I desperately wanted one. I bought one for an Sammy s5 for 9.95 and modified by cutting the top and bottom off. While the top section and bottom are exposed, the main screen is covered. Width is perfect. Feels so much better than the dry application ones from vzw I had. Combined with my otter box defender with the built in screen protection removed, I'm a happy camper now. Protection with the right feel for me.
For wet skin protectors, give Best Skins Ever a try. I discovered and tried them against Xtremeguard and Skinomi (I refuse to try any other skin brand that goes over $20) back in the days when I had a Nexus 4, which also had a curved screen. I found the BSE skin to have the slickest feel on the screen, and they're cut to within 1mm of the absolute edge of the screen. The back also has 3 separate pieces, for the camera flash and dimple. They run $8.99 for a full skin set. I plan on buying one soon for my incoming Moto X, as a temporary solution until somebody makes a proper fitting tempered glass protector.
its seems there a far more tempered glass with halo issues then without them. i feel like i lucked out with a steal of a price. i am no photographer by anymeans nor do i own a macro lens. ill do my best to get the shots off.
i did however get a few bubbles(?) by the home button. overall very pleased.
If anyone is interested in the screen its here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UH8KKA0

Right now, there are three types of glass out there.
1) Flat glass cut to the size of the screen. Since the edges of the screen are rounded, the edges of the glass don't adhere. This produces what people call a "halo" effect, because the part of the glass not sticking will appear white, creating a white ring around the outside of your screen.
2) Flat glass cut to fit only on the flat part of the screen. It stops before it reaches the curvature of the screen, and therefore doesn't extend to the edges. In my opinion, it looks bad, I'd be constantly scraping my finger along the edge, and it's not even protecting my entire front of my phone, so what's the point?
3) Curved glass cut to fit the entire front of the phone, edge-to-edge. There aren't many of these out there and reviews are really just trickling in. I started a thread for discussion of them, but no content as of yet. I'm hoping that the glass makers will wise up and go this way.
So 2.5d means it should cover the whole screen edge to edge? Haven't managed to find any like this yet

2.5d means that the edge of the screen protector has a curve to it. This makes the glass screen protector less prone to nicks and cracking.

I think it's how its applied. I bought a pair, I forgot what brand but I bought one for my girl and 2 came in the package. I put hers on first and there's the halo around the edges, but I put mine on and there's none to be seen.

I'm returning an item just like this (different vendor) as the adhesive is just around the borders and top.
The adhesive is weak and in my case it was not aligned properly to the "glass" so you could see it covering some parts of the screen.
The middle have no adhesive whatsoever and it does not make contact with the phone screen. This causes the protector to flex and each tap/touch on the screen feels like using an old phone with plastic screen.
One last thing: it is a fingerprint magnet and very reflective.

Dang, that sucks. I'll definitely be needing tempered glass, and this is one reason I'm leaning toward the G5—Edge owners are having a devil of a time finding a good one for themselves.
Please post pics of the Yootech.
I'd be really surprised if there's a tempered glass protector that is already correctly designed for the curve at the top. As in, Will it stay stuck? In the past whenever I've had a curved glass phone it's usually months after its release when a company finally designs a true curved TGSP. I hope I'm wrong because I have a Yootech on the V10 and it's great! (Them not making one for the S7 yet might be a sign as to why this was pulled from Amazon).
I settled for a cheap square one for now [Omoton on Amazon].

Going to try this. No joke my glass on my camera cracked/shattered on my 6P AND my girlfriends iPhone X .... We both have cases and screen protectors, but the only damn thing that broke was the actual glass on the cameras back side.
Typically cases give enough depth so the camera bump is fine. I'll wait and see how the cases fit.

I gotchu on the Orzero one that ships with Prime now. https://www.amazon.com/Orzero-Anti-...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=9EB5TB4Q0DEM4Q8FNYP2
While this may be a good thing for some, I will pass.
I have every Android device I've ever owned, and that's only 5, and the only one I've ever damaged was the BIONIC. All the rest very never damaged in any way, and the BIONIC had LCD damage but no cracked glass at all. I started with the original Motorola A855 Sholes aka the DROID (OG). so, in 10 years I've had 5 devices, 6 if you include the S III that a friend of mine gave me when the BIONIC batteries started going belly up, before I got the Nexus 6. So it's not like I use a device for 2 months and replace it - I use them for 2+ years.
I used a screen protector on the DROID for all of 3 weeks - and said never again. I've not had a screen protector since, nor a camera lens protector ever. And I feel no need to start now.
If I did, I'd review this - but not gonna get one to review and not use lol.

Totally agree with everything you said, that's why I returned it for a refund.

Something tells me the Orzeo in op is also same quality. The description says TPU+glass which sounds like just plastic. I messed up the install on mine so I tried breaking it. It broke in half without any spider pattern so I assume it's pure plastic.

At this point it seems pointless to get one of these and just to use a case to keep the lens off any surface and you should be good. That and keep your pockets clean of debris.
I just ordered a dbrand skin with a piece to go on the camera bump to protect it from scratches.

The ones you linked are not plastic. They are a thin glass.
Just got them myself, and not plastic. Broken on, and it spidered like glass. Plastic bends. Not breaks.
They work quite well too.
I have these on my pixel 4xl just in case. Gonna order a brand grips case to

Have you taken pictures with the flash on? Multiple reports on there stating the pictures have a haze as a result.
