[Completed] Installing T-mobile ROM on Sprint note 5 - XDA Assist

Hello, I'm new to flashing ROMs and I need help. I have an unlocked Sprint note 5 and I switched to T-mobile. The phone works with no issues but, I was wondering if it's possible to flash the ROM with the T-mobile ROM? The only reason is to be able to use the features locked on the sprint ROM like video calls.
Also, if it's possible, how can it be done? I've rooted and replaced the ROM on my old note 4 but it would be highly appreciated if I can get the steps and the links to the software to be able to do it.
Than you
Daniel

Greetings and welcome to xda, I certainly wouldn't flash a stock tmob rom as the bootloader and modem would cause issues. There are plenty of custom roms that may work for you, if you ask your question here

Note Pro 12.2 rooting, VZW or AT&T?

Hi, reading through the forums, it sounds like rooting a Note Pro 12.2 on Verizon is either very difficult, or impossible? I'm going to buy one of these for either VZW or AT&T to test for my team of 6 salespeople to use in the field and would need it to be rooted so we can use multi window on all apps. Would prefer VZW because I have most of my devices there now and use Message+ which is awesome for texting on all my devices. But if I have to go AT&T to root, I'll do that - I think this functionality is more important to us. I'd appreciate any input you have on this, and also if someone would be willing to walk me through the rooting process I'd be happy to compensate. Thanks, Scott

Rooting the Verizon model is very easy as long as it is on Android 4.4 (Android 5.1 was recently released for it and is not rootable)
The instructions here are what I used, they are very straightforward: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795630
The downside to the carrier models is that they have locked bootloaders.
So even though you can get root access you wont be able to install Roms or alternate recovery images and such, so you would be stuck on android 4.4.
You would be able to do everything you normally could do on a rooted 4.4 stock rom though.
I have the Verizon model (SM-P905V) and I love it, I currently have a T-mobile sim in it and it gets LTE with no issues.
if you want to be able to root, install a custom recovery and install roms as well as have mobile Broadband you would need the international LTE model (SM-P905) but they are increasingly hard to find for some reason.

***Flashing International Roms on Canadian Note 5 (n920W8)

Hi Everyone!
I was hoping someone with more experience could answer something for me. Does anyone know if we can flash international roms on the n920W8 canadian note 5?
I remember back when I had a t-mobile note 5, I could flash international roms as long as i flashed a working kernel and flash audio call fix.
I would love to try international roms, but I can't seem to get them to boot up.
Any help would greatly be appreciated and I will certainly remember to hit your thanks button!!!
Yes you can.
Spend some more time reading around for w8 specific content/how to so I don't misinform you.
I use the n5 express version 5 from rmarinella http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/development/rom-n5-express-1-0d-t3326638
I've tried some others that require doing some extra stuff to get working.
But that rom I install it and it works how I like with almost nothing I do not like.

Awesome and thank you for the reply. I did get that rom to boot up, but for whatever reason I can't get any of the other roms to boot at all.

N915A flash question

Hey guys. I'm totally new here so my question may seem a bit silly. Accept my apology if so. Also searched through posts and threads to find my answer but wasn't successful.
I just bought an unlocked N915A from ebay and I want to flash it with another ROM. Like N915F. Is it possible at all?
I'm in Australia and I don't use AT&T network (I use Optus) so its okay if my phone doesn't work on AT&T networks anymore. The purpose is to create root access. Because apparently it's not possible to root N915A yet.
Appreciate your time guys.
cheers
P.S.
I can return the item with a small postage fee and buy another model. Like N915F. But I have to do it within 15 days! So... yeah, I highly appreciate if anyone can help.
Return it. The 915A has a locked bootloader whereas the 915f bootloader is unlocked showing for custom recoveries and custom ROMS.

I did it! Many thanks for advice. I got a N915F now but faced a weird problem with it. More explanation here:

Appreciate if you could take a look at it. :good:

"New" note 5 owner custom rom flashing questions

Hey There,
Got my self a certified Pre owned note 5 from T-mobile which has been pretty fun to play with. Now I've gotten the Rom flashing bug, however my note came completely updated to the latest "N920TUVU4EQG3" firmware. Can I still just flash the latest TWRP through ODIN and then wipe and flash whatever Rom I want from the Tmobile note 5 section? Or will this cause issues?
Am I correct in seeing that there are no custom roms or custom kernels based on the latest tmobile release "N920TUVU4EQG3" firmware? I guess what I'd really like is just to run stock custom firmware with an awesome kernel and I think id be just fine.
Also do the Kernels/Roms over in the international forums cause issues for the T-Mobile variant?
Also any suggestions for someone who hasnt touched a samsung device in a few years from a flashing/odin perspective are welcomed :]
Hi, I have the same situation, somebody who know something about, so many thanks.
