I've been using the first gen mate for the most of this year and I absolutely love it. I would like to know how the first gen mate and mate 7 compare in terms of battery life? I know all the specs but I would love to see and hear feedback from the users. I'm 99% sure I'll be getting mate 7 on the tenth and I would love to know how long it's battery can last. I'm getting at least 6 hours of screen on time with first gen mate, most of the time 7 hours and sometimes even 8 hours and I'm by no means a light user. Thanks for your feedbacl guys
Im getting 7hrs screen time in mate 7.
Great!
i owned the 1 mate, but i sold it for my actual mega 6.3
i prefer an OPEN back door battery..... and i love extended batteries. on my mega6.3 i am using a 6400mah one..... and it is fantastic. i hate phablets with NON changeable battery....
but... i am tempted to buy the mate gold version because i would use a secondary sim.......
Hello all,
I was looking to try out a second phone for the new year as I have a nexus 5. I finally just got an invite for the 1+1, but don't know if I should try out the new Moto X instead. I am think that the moto is similar to the n5 us terms of battery, camera, and software, while only differing in build and extra software/hardware features. But want to try out the 1+1 because of the long lasting battery life, better camera, and the sandstone back. Any opinions or input?
Thanks guys.
Why are you asking in the Nexus 5 section if you should get a Moto X or OnePlus One?
Also, not much point asking. It's your decision, it's your money. The only one who knows what's best for them is themselves.
Its really up to your taste, they all have a very similar baseline
I saw our bigger brother RN4 got unofficial LOS 15 android 8.0.
So i thought , lets talk about our experience although we are small community with few roms.
I will start: I love my Redmi because of battery life, because the way it fits in my hands. its quick enough for its price. i recently fleshed LOS 14.1.
i remember its a good rom from my previous phone. I hope we will follow our big brother with Oreo too.:good:
I also love you guys. there is so much action here we try to get razielle , we translate 4PDA, we work together to find stuff! We are awesome!
Share you thoughts and experience guys
To be honest , I'm kinda thinking changing my phone for a Redmi Note 4X.
Don't get me wrong , the device in itself is really good but the lack of a good community of developers kinda bugs me.
But the device is good, the battery life is good, the camera is decent, the screen is good, etc..
For that price point , you really can't ask for much more.

Agreed. I like its size, otherwise I would buy other one
The things that made me choose this phone were its compact size, efficient sd625 and fhd screen. So, I don't have much really to complain.
Yes I thought it would get Nougat officially, and this just the one disappointment so far. I did switched to custom Nougat roms, but eventually got back to miui, as it grew a soft corner days before I bought this device.
For camera, I didn't prioritized it before purchasing, as I already knew it's pretty decent, and found it on par. Though I do feel 32s exposure support on default camera app would cover up all my complains. Tried this with Camera FV5 though, not any satisfactory result yet.
Ok, that's all. I do love my r4p despite of lack-ish dev support. Glad to be along with you.
Coming from mi4 (cancro), I'm so happy and satisfied with performance and battery life. The only reason that makes me sad is the lack of devs and cusrom. Previously, with cancro I already got AOSP Nougat ported in less than a month after Google's release. Even now, cancro already have ported Oreo rom since last few weeks
I've been thinking to switch to Mi5 which has more devs, but 3-5h SOT is sucks compared to our R4P

we tried to bring devs here, but it didnt work. maybe you know devs who willing to?
i am a very unhappy user of a huawei device. After having issues with OTA updates and warranty problems, i decided to try and look for a new device.
I looked for this google pixel. Since Pixel 2 is quite expensive, i decided to give a try to the original pixel.
My question is : Is it worth buying either the pixel original or Pixel xl? If yes, which and why.
I want to buy the 128 since the 32 won't keep me in the long run.
I think yes it is still a very relevant phone that has a great processor, camera, and dev community. If you look at the Pixel 2 dev community it is virtually non-existent. I purchased the Pixel 2 when it first came out and while it is a great phone I sold it for something else. Well,,,then I wanted the Pixel experience again so I purchased a great used 128 gb OG pixel and havent looked back since. For the money, I think hands down the OG Pixel is great. Just be sure to get the best buy that you can and ask detailed questions about condition and battery. Hope this helps.
it is still one of the best phone in terms of camera and software side. And for the comparison it can easily be go head to head any 2018 phone camera. And the best thing is now it's price is low enough to purchase. I use both Pixel 1 & Pixel 2 Xl. i can barely see the difference in camera at the daylight and in terms of night time pixel 1 camera is quite enoughh not the best but usuable.

Thanks for the suggestion. So i should go for the 5" model or 5'5 model? I heard that XL has a greater battery but it is big for my hands, but if i go for the smaller version, i will gain less battery. So which should i go with?
I like the 5 inch Pixel. I was never really one for the large phones, they are just to big and the battery life for my Pixel has always been great. I would say the battery differences is negligible if you know for a fact that you dont like the larger phones.

So, in conclusion, will the 5" model keep me in the long run?
I have bought a refurbished Pixel 1 5inch model, and for me battery life isn't as good as expected. I did some research and found that the battery life on new Pixels isn't much better. Also it gets quite got at heavy gaming. Everything else is great though.
To know whether the battery will last long enough for your usage, check out my post about battery life:

That's true. Still, if you read the linked post, I ran a Geekbench battery test, and it got a similar score as new Pixel devices. I just want to point out that the Pixel battery isn't high end, at least not in the small Pixel version.

If you decide to buy the Pixel 1, just making sure that it's an unlocked version, if you want to unlock the bootloader to install custom ROMs, and not Verizon version.

I am overseas so there are no carrier locked devices here in the store. But i am still not sure yet if it will be worth my money in the long run.
Ok so i got a good offer. Should i go for the Oneplus 3T 64gb or should i keep looking for a google pixel?
So nobody else recommends me this device?

I haven't bought Oneplus 3T yet. Neither the google pixel.
I am still skeptical for both devices.

Well Oneplus 3T is mostly for performance, fast charge and gaming.
Pixel XL is for battery, camera, performance and fast charge (using USB-C's "fast" charge, so it doesn't affect battery overtime).
Since Oneplus 3T is out of production and i hate second hand phones, i think i will stick with Pixel XL. If i can't find the XL cheap, i will go for the normal Pixel.
I buy the OG Pixel only for the camera, pie and pixel experience last month for $200 (32gb) is good deal.
The HDR+ in pixel is better than the port one, i have htc10, but the camera lens cover is pop off, so pixel is my 'pocket camera' beside my daily driver phone.

How does the battery hold so far based on your usage?
Im looking for a cheap high performance Xiaomi phone with a long update path (aka in Xiaomis eyes). Im looking for one with long battery life, a in-display fingerprint scanner, amazing performance for gaming and just navigating everyday tasks, preferably one with fast charging, OLED screen or better, 120Hz, and one with easy rooting like how Xiaomis have. I have my eyes on the MI 12 (people say it overheats), MI 12X and the MI 11. I want a phone that will last me a long time. Any recommendations? doesn't have to be a Xiaomi but if it has a easy rooting process like Xiaomi I might consider it.
I am using xiaomi 12 now for the past 3 days. My experiece has been absolutely perfect. Ive never had trouble with overheating, not even when i played some games and while charging. Phone becomes warm but it is waaaaaay much less than my iPhone used to have. I didnt do much research but for me on miui 13 and android 13 the experience with xiaomi 12 have beed perfect. Battery is literally undestructable and it charges in 20 - 30 minutes. Maybe the overheating was fixed in the updates i dont know. But for me and my experience with the device now, it is way better than my iphone was. Good luck!
first of all, the battery life of this phone with 5G is on is a joke, with wifi I get double SOT,
in my opinion don't buy mi12, this SoC is very bad and don't listen to other guy, all of them(mi12) overheat unless you live in North Pole
mi11 is better choice if you don't mind the size, 12x nice too maybe less future proof
mi11 has more roms too,
only plus for mi12 is the compact size,
to conclude, if you want a phone for many years don't buy mi12 for sure

It's your opinion and I respect it.
Wifi consumes more battery by downloading and streaming than data and comparing a phone that is two years old with a recent phone makes no sense.
well he asked for mi11, it's a nice phone imo, we should tell the truth about this phone though, battery life is not good and it is getting hot, also not big community so far and no roms, me personally I wouldn't buy again, coming from mi9, this was a big disappointment but everything is subjective, I hope this helps

That is to say that a cheap phone with high performance with an important autonomy and which lasts a long time, it does not exist.
