hotspot with laptop vpn issue - Android General

Android 6 phone. Hotspot. Laptop connected to hospot, every now and again, hotspot stops and anything on the laptop that needs a constant connection, dies. A few seconds later hotspot comms start working again(ping on the laptop starts working again), and I can reconnect the apps on the laptop, only for the same thing to happen again a few minutes later. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks.

Router reboot needed for WiFi connect

My O2 XDA Orbit II (HTC Touch Cruise) running Windows Mobile 6.0 will sometimes connect to my Netgear DG834PN router (latest drivers) just fine with its current settings, and I can happily use it for e-mail, surfing, etc. on the Internet. Sometimes it won't connect, or refuses to reconnect, until I reboot the router, when all is fine again - without changing any settings on router or phone. Two desktops are connected to the router all the time (no problems), a Nintendo Wii is permanently connected by WiFi, and I can connect with my laptop by Wifi every time without fail without ever rebooting the router. Any ideas where I should start looking for the problem with the phone? It surely must be with the phone, as everything else connects and stays connected just fine.
Try another ROM?

[Q] AziLink and dropped connections

I have a G1. I've been using Wireless Tether for Root and it seems to work fine however the wifi makes the pretty hot. I've been trying AziLink but I've been having problems with dropped connections. I'll go though the tethering process, then set up tunneling/SOCKS5 via SSH to a remote server. (This avoids the caching the T-Mobile proxy does.) After anywhere from around 1 to 10 minutes, the SSH connection stops working. (I figure this is either AziLink or OpenVPN.) It doesn't simply disconnect, it just stops transferring data and eventually times out. Starting another SSH session works fine. This doesn't happen so quickly under the wireless tethering. That usually takes more than an hour and it's often the case that the phone needs to be reset as it's really a hardware or driver issue. (Sometimes just turning off and on the bluetooth or wifi will fix it, but sometimes they refuse to turn on again. I'm guessing overheating.)
Anyway, anybody have any suggestions for fixing this?

[Q] Tether troubles

Phone is rooted, Wifi tether for root users used to work perfectly. All of the sudden for the past few days, the AP shows up, but when devices try to connect, they wont be able to. I reboot phone, toggle airplane mode on/off and sometimes it works, and devices can connected, but then randomly no internet, could be minutes or hours.
When I try foxfi, it seems to use the stock VZW wifi tether app, I have done the DB to 0 mod, but when I use this method to tether, as soon as any device connects, it immediately turns off my data, then turns it back on again, over and over until I disconnect the devices.
I would be satisfied with USB tether with pdanet but originally when I tried to connect it, I would hear the "device disconnect" noise on the computer over and over and over, which would kill the connection each time. I've tried different USB cables, it wasn't that. Removed all drivers and tried to re-install but now pdanet tells me theres a driver problem and wont even try to connect.
I've never had so many problems trying to tether from any other phone in my life. Could this be VZW trying to interfear? I'm still on the unlimited data plan, and they constantly call me trying to get me to upgrade phone (& switch to a new limited plan).
Thanks

Strange Wifi Issues

Hi,
since the last week i have been searching for a solution to this problem.
Problem:- Whenever the wifi of the device is connected to a Wifi with 'INTERNET' after 3 to 5 sec the device powers down and later after 10 sec it restarts.
Device doesn't shutdown or restart randomly , it doesn't happen if the wifi connected doesn't posses internet , the wifi card is fine as it could scan and connect to any network without internet.
