WARNING: The stock boot image has dm-verity, which prevents you from booting if you swipe to enable system modifications!
SOLUTION: Flash a root such as SuperSU or phh-superuser. You can also flash no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip.
Supported Models :
MS550/K550
Prerequisites :
YOUR BOOTLOADER MUST BE UNLOCKED
How to unlock the bootloader :
1-enable oem unlock in the developer settings
2-reboot to fastboot [adb reboot bootloader] then issue this command [fastboot oem unlock]
note: this will wipe your data]

-If you have problems with the device drivers installed , you will need to install lg bridge, you can download it from here:
http://tool.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=PWZO7A26B9UW
How to flash Twrp:
BOOT INTO FASTBOOT MODE:
With your phone off, connect your usb cable to your phone while holding VOLUME DOWN to boot into fastboot mode or just type [adb reboot bootloader] in the adb terminal
ONCE YOU ARE IN FASTBOOT MODE:
Open a command prompt and type "fastboot flash recovery <path_to_recovery.img>” without the quotation marks.
Example: fastboot flash recovery C:/Users/John/Desktop/recovery.img
[don't forget to extract the downloaded recovery zip to get the recovery.img]
WHEN THE FLASH COMPLETES: (Takes about 2 seconds)
On your phone, unplug the usb cable and power it off by taking out the battery and putting it back in.
BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE FOR THE FIRST TIME
HOLD VOLUME DOWN + POWER until you see the LG logo and then temporarily release the POWER button, immediately pressing and holding it back down until you see the white prompt [factory reset] screen. You will NEVER release the volume down button in this process!
Use the hard keys to select "YES" and then "YES" again to boot into TWRP
How to Disable encryption and flash super su [Install Root]:
1. In TWRP, go to Wipe > Format Data. Enter the keyword ‘yes‘, in the provided space and enter. This will wipe the automatically encrypted filesystem, and decrypt it.
2. Once the wiping is done, reboot back into recovery. Go to Reboot > Recovery.
3. When the recovery boots again, connect your phone to the PC and Enable MTP under the Mount section.
4. Transfer the downloaded ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-**.zip’ and ‘SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip to your internal storage or EXTSD
5. Disconnect the device now.
6. Tap on Install. Now, navigate your phone’s storage and select ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-**.zip’. Finally swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’ button on the bottom of the screen.
7. The flashing process will merely take a few seconds. And when it’s done, follow the same method to flash the root package – SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip [/B]
Wait 1 or 2 minutes after the zip files are done flashing then reboot system and PROFIT! Your phone may take 3-5 minutes to boot the first time and it might boot-loop once or twice at the Metro PCS splash screen but don’t worry this is expected.

No you need to be in fastboot. Power off your device and press volume down, while continuing to hold volume down plug in your USB cable. You should now be in fastboot. Open up a command prompt and try the command I mentioned above.

make sure you have your adb & fastboot installed to C:/ and no sub folder (this makes sure everything is clean and no interferences). after that you must hard reset your xoom (hold in power button and vol up) than press vol up to access fastboot. after this navigate to your android SDK install directory and hold in left ctrl button and right click on the working folder and hit open cmd here.
also did you try the command fastboot devices? this lists the devices connected to your computer aka your xoom
here's a list of command just in case
Commands:
adb - Android Debug Bridge - One of the two things you'll need to know if you ever want to do anything non-conventional on your android based phone.
List of commands that can be used by adb can be prompted by typing adb at the system shell (command prompt or terminal)
Notable adb commands:
adb devices - If you don't know anything, this is the ONE thing you have to know.
adb devices will give you a list of devices connected to the computer. This is also a good way to make sure that your phone is actually connected to the computer.
adb reboot (bootloader|recovery)
adb reboot - this will reboot your phone normally.
adb reboot bootloader - this will reboot your phone back into the bootloader (white screen with the android on wheels)
adb reboot recovery - this will reboot your phone back into recovery console (either default or amon_ra's recovery).
adb shell - this will shell into the phone and you can now explore the phone. Remember phone's native backend os is linux so know your linux commands.
adb remount - remounts the system partition on the phone so you can you read/write to it.
adb push xxx yyy - will push xxx file from computer into yyy location/file on phone (needs rooted access)
adb pull xxx yyy - will pull xxx file from phone into yyy location/file on computer (needs rooted access)
Fastboot is protocol used to update the flash filesystem in Android devices from a host over USB. It allows flashing of unsigned partition images.
Notable fastboot commands:
fastboot devices - If you don't know anything, this is the ONE thing you have to know.
fastboot devices will give you a list of devices connected to the computer. This is also a good way to make sure that your phone is actually connected to the computer.
fastboot reboot - this will reboot your phone normally
fastboot oem unlock - this will unlock your bootloader - NOTE THIS WILL VOID YOUR NEXUS ONE WARRANTY
fastboot erase XXX - Will erase the partition XXX (such as userdata, cache) - mainly used for resetting phone and clearing userdata / factory settings.
fastboot flash XXX YYY - This will flash XXX partitionn with YYY image.
e.g: fastboot flash system system_update.img will flash/update your system partition with an image called system_update

hi sorry.. had to get to ten posts XD
This is exactly what I did, I used adb to put in fast boot mode and used the command to try and unlock it, tried with files in c drive and in user profile, all just kinda sit there and say waiting on device, though about how long should I wait for it to unlock boot loader? And what will happen once it does, also I'm running Android v 4.0.3

Question here. P509 with NEW baseband would use the p500 recovery? Or P509?

Yep, no selection for the P509 build either. Can scroll up and down, but no selection. I know the HW keys were slightly remapped. The power button is supposed to be the select key.

Use the P509 recovery. But wait, can't make any selections.
I could try the p500 recovery, and when I get stuck in fastboot, I could use Android flash recovery to fix it.

LOL. In case someone does get stuck however, there is a simple fix.
Extract preferred recovery to the root of your sdcard. Make sure it's named 'recovery.img'.
Open Terminal Emulator
Type "su" without quotes and press Enter. Grant SuperUser request when asked
Type "flash_image recovery sdcard/recovery.img" without quotes and press Enter.
Wait for process to finish. You'll see things happening in terminal emulator
Optionally, type "exit" without quotes and press Enter two times to back out of Terminal Emulator.
You're done.

And the p506 recovery doesn't have a selection button, as stated before by other users...
I guess you'll have to pull the battery, and then boot normally.

Yes sir
Booting is not a good thing. It is an EXPECTED thing... If something of mine doesn't boot, I'm not a happy camper. So now to fix this weird issue, eh? I think Koush may have played around with it a bit. Bill, can you try this IMG? This is the original P509 one I built from source before I had the CWM builder build it into a "real" CWM
http://jenkins.cyanogenmod.org/job/recovery/16075/artifact/archive/inputrecovery.img
See if that has the same issue
I have fastboot. Bill doesn't. Maybe I should be honorary lab rat.

adb reboot bootloader
You should now be in fastboot mode. Download the correct image file and copy the file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries. Rename the image to twrp.img and type:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.[/SIZE]

Try downloading and flashing again. Are you flashing through Flashify app?
As well check if you have OEM unlocking ON, Update Cyanogen Recovery off and Android Debugging ON before flashing. Hope it helps.

hi , how to unlock the bootloader and install this version of TWRP ? because I 've never used fastboot and it makes me a little scared.
In the past I did it on my Galaxy S3 via ODIN but it is the great unknown .
Finding no real tutorial to the Z1 I find myself in a bind.
Cordially.

I will try to help.
1. First activate your Developer options from About Phone clicking many times on Build number
2. Then go back to developer settings and do OEM Unlocking and give full Root Access. Switch on Android Debugging as well.
3. Go to security and allow Unknown Sources
Then probably the best way is to use this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/development/win-zuk-z1-toolkit-0-1-alpha-t3235964
Or just download Flashify and flash downloaded twrp.img file from there.

This can help you as well:

if you don't wipe internal sd it will stay. check in titanium where is your backup, you can as well copy your backup folder to your computer to make sure you won't lose it.
Full Wipe:
Wipe Data
Format System
Format Cache
Format Dalvik Cache

I believe using flashify needs a source path which is not local to your phone.... I can only explain this to the best of my experience before.... I had a kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C and this is where i have transferred the file to when i did flashify. Upon doing this without the removal of this after reboot, it succesfully installed. I hope i am making sense as i did have the previous problem as i paid for support for Flashify and nothing happened when the *.img was on the memory of my phone.... if anyone can explain better why this is that would be better....

http://tool.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=PWZO7A26B9UW

On your phone, unplug the usb cable and power it off by taking out the battery and putting it back in.

How to Disable encryption and flash super su [Root Your Device]:

Ah actually is strange that the one you are talking about came directly after i posted on your topic saying I posted test twrp for aristo 2 on my blog (posted 4 days ago on my blog)

I was not aware of that friend, my apologies.
I'm having an issue, Instagram Twitter and Facebook refuse to update after using magisk, so I switched to SuperSU and I still have the same problem. The only way to get it to work is to remove root. I can't even connect to them through the browser it keeps saying failed to uodate

I got it restored eventually but im still having the same issur that made me try a factory reset in the first place. Half the time, i need to reboot for my phone to charge and some of those times the notifications that its charging and that debug is on stay in the status bar. Im at my wits end.
I just grabbed an Aristo 2 and though I don't know how long I'll have it, in my free time ( which is limited ) I'm going to be working on getting a full rom package with kernel compiled. What would you guys like to see? I primarily focus on flagships, and this is definitely a budget device but it's been working well for me despite the snapdragon 425 and only 2gb ram...I'd like to see some development for this thing and though I've only spent about 20 minutes looking around on xda it seems it's very limited (which is to be expected)...Can someone give me a brief rundown on where we are with the device and what yet needs accomplished to be ready for a compile? Are sources available (kernel source, etc)? I thought I read back in another post (messi2050?) that some sources had been obtained? I'm going to go back over it and see what else is needed....do we have defconfig and whatnot to build? Any info you guys can paraphrase will make this all a lot faster since I've got very limited time to research but access to a poweredge r330 blade with 32GB and a 3.4ghz octa to compile on....I've already set up the VM with linux and am waiting to see what else I find that I'm going to need and decide on a build (lineage, cm, stock rooted, etc) before I take the time to download android source....I've only got a 50mbps line coming into the server so a 40gb source download isn't exactly fast and I work construction so I'm in and out but never seem to have EXTENDED periods of time to sit down and burn the keyboard up....
Thanks guys....I'm about to install Tapatalk on the device and I'll be out-n-about checking on jobs in the field but if anyone wants to DM me and bring me up to speed I'll be sure to reply....In the meantime as time allows I can remote the server at the office if need be....
-Rx8driver
I've also noticed that driver issues are pretty noticeable using win10 in fastboot mode...i had to load the Google driver manually to get fastboot mode working... if you're having issues take a close look thru the device manager and make sure the lg driver is properly loaded when the device is in fastboot and download modes if you're running win10...
