How many replacements have you guys have been given? I just got my 8th for reception and battery issues and now it doesn't even connect to anything (btw i got it on wednesday).
Am i the only one that needs to get replacements all the time for the same issues?
still on my 1st one, only had it a month though. No problems that I have noticed.
I'm still on my 1st one that I pre-ordered in June. Haven't had any issues with it.

i think i might have to go back to a iPhone ,:c
on my third. First one had that screen gap issue, except it was heavily noticeable (1-2mm on the bottom). Second one had signal issues. Current one is OK, but is kind of crap in 3g areas. I can handle it though due to the fact im mostly around 4g.
On my first one that I preordered in June. Only issue I had was with Wi-Fi failing to connect 6/10 tries however JB has completely resolved my prior Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

My next phone will be either the s4 or iPhone 5s (for sure if untethered jailbreak comes out). I just love Torrenting movies on my s3 and tethering to my nexus 7 I already pay verizon enough I might as well use the data as I want

CovXX, dont worry...its not just you. I came from a Gnex then got upgraded for free to this phone. I had to get 23 replacements in less than 2 months. More than half didn't even turn on out of the box. After the 4th replacement, I opened the phone at a Verizon store itself so that they knew I wasn't lying. After that many, I tried a different store, and they offered to give me a GS3 for no cost and no contract extension. Awesome right? In my experience the replacements are pure crap. I think they just get other people's phones, and send them right back out again. One even had someones contacts on them...its a bit maddening.

Im on my 3rd, only 1 was a faulty phone. The other 2 were from me bricking it iirc lol
If you had battery issues for all 8 replacments, I have a feeling its yoyr battery not the phone. Try going to the verizon store ask for a new battery.

Really? Because I swear you were claiming reception issues in the thread when everyone was trying for Note 2s.
OP, it took me two replacements before I was offered alternate replacements. If that's what you want, just ask for it. The antenna in the sg3 is sub optimal in certain circumstances, it's more than likely not something you can fix with a replacement sg3.
I went through 4 gnexii before I demanded a different phone and got the s3. Used that for an hour before the screen backlight basically died and refused to come on. 2nd s3 seems to be doing good so far.

I've tried to get a n2 or something else but they keep denying me. I gotta fight with them on this one, i can't even use my phone right now as a phone its basically a tablet. I've had different battery's as well but nothing seems to fix my issues. To the guy who said no to the iPhone; even though its not as powerful or free i'd love to have to deal with apple more then vzw and sammy; i was upgraded from a 3GS to a 4 for no cost by them at my 5 replacment. Samsung wants me to send my phone out for 2 weeks which isn't happening. So i guess i have to fight with vzw for hours or something? Anyone want to give me some tips on how to get them to slide with me?

I'm on my 4th replacement for my s3. I was told and noted in my account that one of the tech2 supervisor that I was approved for a Razr Maxx HD. So, all I was waiting for was my replacements to get back to Verizon. Called back up about week later, one of them came in. The customer service rep then transfered me to tier 2 tech. Then, it all just went downhill from there. He is saying, that his supervisor can't approve me for my razr Maxx HD which I was already approved for by someone else. I called back the next day and it's the same thing. So, I just gave up. The only issue I am having with my s3 is the wifi. If my s3 is connected to my wifi it will sometimes take down my whole wifi network. And what's also strange is that whenever the phone is idle and I go to pick up the phone and use the Internet on my wifi while it's connected. It takes the phone 30secs-1min for me to connect to the Internet. It's not my router cause I never had any issues with any of my other phones that I previously had.
All I can say is good luck on them trying to get you to switch to another phone. They wanted to offer me a gnex or Rezound as a replacement for this s3. Like Verizon wanted me to downgrade my phone. Screw them.

I am so pissed. Long story short. I ordered the s6 through Verizon, got the phone and it was great until the 10th day. I started having issues. So I told them and they said they'd send me out another. I told then I absolutely do not want a refurbished phone and they guaranteed me it would be a brand new one. Wtf do i get the next day? A refurbished piece of crap that had scratches all over when 3 different reps assured me they'd be sending me a new one. I called them back pissed.
So after hours of talking on the phone I get them to send me a brand new one that would come in the white box. They told me it would arrive on may 29th(which was 10 days away) because they were all on backorder waiting for the shipment from Samsung. So I've literally been calling every few days asking them what the update is and every time a diff rep just tells me that the order is placed and everything but it's still on backorder. This has happened 3+ times now.
It's been 3 weeks now and I just called again and told them this is it I've had enough and the guy tells me for some reason the order never processed because of some terms and conditions crap so he said he has to figure it out with his supervisor. I can't believe this seriously. Are the people at Verizon the dumbest individuals in the world or am I being toyed with here?

Why not request the replacement be noted on your account and go to a verizon store and have them replace it with a new phone?

I tried that but all of the Verizon stores in my area were totally out of stock of the black s6 and they said they'd charge me to switch colors.

Multiple issues. I experienced, Bluetooth issues, got a few scratches on the phone and occasional messed up audio when on the phone. I got them to send me a new one. Should be here Thursday. Found out he order never went through cuz the stupid supervisor didn't approve the order.

Chadly, glad to hear your issue has an end in sight, I cannot help but wonder - did you receive an order confirmation for the new GS6 from VZW?
Yeah, they sent me a new s6 and this one is perfect except for a super loose home button that rattles. Such bs. I'm waiting for them to call me back and tell me what we do now.

I haven't been impressed with Verizon customer service, either. The first phone I got was never activated, and when I called to get it activated, the rep just redid my order and sent me another phone lol. I had to reject the 2nd phone, and I finally spoke to someone that knew what they were talking about.
It seems as though 1 out of every 3 reps know their stuff, the rest have no clue.
I'm still waiting for my $100 port in credit, and I know it won't be on my 3rd billing cycle, so I'll have to call them again :/
Never even talked to a rep. did everything online. Ordered phone on Friday, arrived Sat, activated without doing much other than turning the phone on (SIM card was already installed). I didn't port my number until I checked out the phone and ported the number on Monday morning, took about 20 min and about 1/2 hour after that to get the SMS texting working right.
No communication with a rep at anytime.
Sat night when I realized I already had the latest build (was waiting for an OTA), I rooted the device with PingPongroot. Had to do it twice but it stuck and was very easy. never connected the phone to the computer (yet).

This is literally the only way to do it. Companies like VZ and Comcast intentionally provide sucky service so that you just give up because who wants to spend hours on the phone explaining your problem to people who are intentionally making it harder for you?
Well, they said they said they wouldn't send me out another new device. She said it would have to be a refurbished one this time so now I have to choose between one of these s6's or sell one of them and wait for something better to come along.

It looks like they delayed you just to be outside of the 14 day window. Anything outside that 14 day return policy can be replaced with a certified like new device. Is the home button that bad that you couldn't see living with it? Would a stiff home button eventually became loose also?

I exchanged one due to a very loose home button. It didn't register presses half the time and rattled bad. They are out there, the lemon s6s. They are far between but they do exist sadly

Yeah, pretty lame. I'm keeping the new gold one because the screen is much better. The home button doesn't rattle as much now. It's barely noticeable so I'm okay with it.

Simply mentioned it because it appears he was looking for a timeline. I provided a rough one.
If it's going to be 60 days out, I wouldn't expect anything this fast. From talking to them, it sounds like they are still trying to get the details straight across the board. It sounds like they are going to have a deadline to return them to samsung, long as they meet that deadline, they don't care when they get them back.

I received a text message from Sprint yesterday to return my not or face a non return fee, I went into a sprint store today and exchanged for a S7 edge

My wife likes the Coral Blue.
Sounds like Sprint won't let us hold it long enough for the Galaxy S8 devices, but I hear rumors of there being a Coral Blue S7 Edge. Hopefully they'll let us keep it until then.
She'll miss the S-Pen dearly, of course.

I got the alert from Samsung, nothing they said says you HAVE to return it though, just that you can't take it on flights. Still haven't seen anything about a firm date, assuming you don't fly, like me, I am sticking to the 60 days corp told me for now until I hear otherwise, so I can decide what I want to do.
It still says voluntary recall on the Samsung website.
Just received a second message, now from Samsung. And it begins....

It still is but sprint and Samsung are going to be relentless with this. I'm flying tomorrow and have to leave my phone behind, using my gf's iPhone... can't believe this sh*t!

I got one from Sprint and Samsung last night. Both say to trade in before I fly, because of airline ban. Otherwise, it's still voluntary.

+1 Im keeping mine. You have more of a chance of dying in a car accident or even being murdered than your Note 7 catching fire. Besides, ALL phones carry a risk. Just google "iphone catches fire" and find the numerous "local" reports. Some even on planes in mid flight. The "National" media won't run these. Wonder why? Make no mistake, this was a targeted attack on Samsung for steadily taking the market away from America's precious Apple and to make way for American juggernaut Google. Btw, you can google "Nexus catches fire", or practically ANY phone model/brand and find recent news reports of said phones burning up. Sorry, I'm not drinking the Kool-aide. Samsung made a kickass phone and I'm not ditching them or the phone because the American media and American mega-corporations don't want them to have the bulk of the cell phone market.

Im sorry but i thought it was mandatory. I thought they were going to blacklist phones not returned. I returned nine and am so unhappy about it this sucks if i really didn't have to return it. I got NUNEROUS messsges from sprint AND samsung telling me to return it immediately

I didnt want to either but i got an s7e today its running wayyyy smoother
Still have mine, im supposed to be flying in 2 weeks so may switch back to my S4 for that weekend and go back to the note when i get back if they allow me. Hoping they come up with some solution to check the phones so the rest of us dont have to turn it in. I rocked my s4 for 3.5 years and really dont want to go back to it, but the NOTE was the best phone ever and not settling for s7e for next 2 years when S8 will be avail in few months. So pissed!!!!
I bought an S7 Edge off a friend and was going to return my Note to Sprint. Had the 7 Edge for 30 minutes and gave it back to him. There's just nothing like the Note. I'd rather take my chances.

Then don't fly with a Note 7. I plan to use an old phone for flights and switch back to the Note 7 when I'm back.
I will be waiting this thing out so long as the recall is voluntary, until my phone explodes or the note 8 or an equivalent comes out. I think it's a conspiracy. How could this happen to the best phone ever made. It is a perfect work of art packed with all the best and latest new tech and you mean to tell me that they cut corners on the battery. The battery. I don't think so.

Went to Best Buy tonight (Las Vegas), mobile sales rep stated that Verizon will begin black listing/deactivating their devices soon. Anyone else hear anything like this?
I wouldn't believe what any rep at best buy said.... They told me that I HAD to shut it off and return it right away.... I walked away and laughed and said "why so u can sell me an iphone"

Yeah, was able to grab one on Ebay early. I have a busy weekend and won't be able or just mane the time to activate the V20 till rnd Tuesday. Im kinda at a crossroads. I love the N7 but with the V20 i get a quad dac that can push my headphones. Its nice to have a single piece of equipment to listen to Flac files. I might just keep V20 as media player and N7 as daily driver until im forced to give up the N7

Ok, made some time to check this out. Activated my V20 and that worked fine. About an hour later i switched back to the Note 7 with no problem. Ill be keeping this Note until the N8 comes out or im forced to give it back. V20 will just be used for the DAC now, LoL

This is my thinking as well (holding out for the S8), had to return a device to the sprint store today and asked the salesman if Samsung had provided them more info as to if there will be a cutoff time to return the N7's.... He said he "believes" until the end of the year. Unsure as to if this is factual or not but wanted to share.
