Is anybody else concerned with being able to complete the swipe gestures on the fingerprint scanner to bring up notifications with a case? Personally, I am holding out on a case until I see how the scanner responds without a case. Thoughts?
Good point. With a case on my 6p its never been an issue but then I've only needed to tap since there aren't the gestures.
I'm not sure I'll even use the gestures anyway but it might make swiping a little harder to do but probably something one could get used to.

That might be why some of the cases have more cut out below the fingerprint sensor, as well as just to let your finger get in there at all. I think it won't really be a problem with Google's live cases, but will be some of a problem with thicker cases, especially if they don't do what I just mentioned.
Got a case on my P9 which has gestures and never had an issue.

Anybody know what the case shown in this video here is, or where to get it?

At 0.06 when he opens it up you can see 'D3O' on the inside of the cover.
That is a nice case.

That looks amazing! I always missed my blackberry for auto turning on/off when you put it in/out of the holster. I thought that was some sort of patented hardware feature because nothing other than the ipad smart cover does anything similar. Want this case badly! Anyone know where to buy?
Nexus 7 has magnetic sleep/wake, but I have run magnets all over the Nexus 4 and have not found a spot where it sleeps so I don't know how this is working in this video.
Perhaps they are using an app that is using the proximity sensor?
Possible leak of a Tech21 Impact Snap w/ Cover? Seems like it to me. Check out videos for the SGS3 and iphone 5, very similar.
If a D30 case comes out for the N4, I will most likely snag one. That seems like a pretty nifty case. It seems that he may be using an app that uses the phone's proximity sensor to turn the phone on and off when it's covered. I used to use that app when I had the N1 and HD2. It works like a charm, but uses a lot of battery.
That's a nice case. Been looking for a clean looking flip case myself.
I'm very interested in this. It's the only kind of case that intrigues me at all.
I'm guessing it's the d3o case for the gs3. It fits, but the button placement is a touch off, and you have 2 extra holes on the back.

Has anyone removed the sleep/wake magnet from the Moko case yet? I just got mine in the mail and want to remove it but it seems pretty well integrated. I found where it is but can't tell if it runs along the whole length of the left side of the cover

It's only one small magnet, the size of an eraser. It's underneath the elastic handle. Rub your fingernail over the area and you'll slowly find a circular outline. Took 30 seconds to remove!
Sorry, I actually have the other moko case without the hand strap. The faux leather smart cover that looks similar to the poetic slim case. I found the sleep/wake magnets over the middle left side of the screen and removed them but the cover still sleep/wakes my screen. Don't understand how and why unless I missed some magnets

drag a magnet over the case and you should be able to find it.
may i ask why you want to remove it? the only tablet I've used that has a functional sleep cover has been my nook hd+. ipad and gn10.1 would have unusual drain when using it. my 500t has issues with waking up from sleep (all atom wintabs seem to) so i got rid of that magnet. never did get a case with a magnet for my 700t.

There are a number of threads on various forums concerning the Note 8 screen becoming dead to tactile input where the magnetic field of the cover is located. Interestingly, this has been noticed with the official Samsung book cover case.
What I have found using a Poetic case that has a metal (but not magnetic) clasp to keep the cover in the closed position activates the Note 8's sleep and wakeup modes just fine.

Can someone kindly point me to some of the threads discussing this? I did a Google search and only find where the magnets mess with the compass and S-pen in certain cases.
I've used the moko with s pen for over a couple of weeks and have noticed nothing. I've even scribbled all over the pad.....nothing. Great value.

Me, too. Almost a month, and I haven't had any problems yet.
i've got a poetic and haven't had any problems...yet.
I currently have the original flip case by samsung, which I like quite a bit but im a bit bored with it. Is there any other brand flip case that supports the wake up and special edge features, but that also has a built in stand? Maybe more color options? Maybe epically cool looking like the UAG flip covers for the note 4?
http://www.amazon.com/Verus-Kicksta...ge+folio&pebp=1421888396475&peasin=B00Q5W0Z98
I'm going to get that one. Not sure if it has the built in magnet. Checked through the reviews, nobody seems to mention whether it DOES, or DOESNT unlock the device upon opening. I assume that means it works as expected. However the folio "kickstand" feature is more important to me than automatically unlocking. Gravity Screen can remedy that. I'll post back here when it comes in though if you prefer someone to verify.
:3
It seems that it protects the phone against drops. Thats a lot more then the OEM Samsung does

I would appreciate if you post back when you do know. I actually really like the quality build of my samsung flip case. I probably wouldnt have any complaints if it had color choices and a built in stand.
Have you ever dropped it with the Samsung case?
Yes, just twice. Nothing happened
a friend had a non oem magnet flip case and the magnet damaged the screen over its overlap. don't be fooled... very common with non-OEM magnet cases; it was a big problem with the Note 3. Keep an eye on your screen.... just saying.......
Thanks for the warning. Verus makes the one posted. Every Edge case they make is highly rated, so I has faith. Is on the way, so I'll let you know soon.
UPDATE: Damn.

It's too late to cancel. Honestly I find the built in stand feature more useful than the auto shutoff. Screebl or Gravity Screen will do the job for me. I guess on days when I wont be working/playing on my phone I'll use the Samsung case to minimize screen time/eliminate need for sensors to be on. Can never have too many cases, right?
Just got mine today. Very nice materials. Very pleased.
Posted this in page two of another thread but just wanted to make sure people saw this in case they didnt read it before they purchased the Surface case with the kickstand. Gonna call them tomorrow to make them aware:
I ordered my Surface case, received it today and I'm having issues. When the bottom piece of the outer shell slides on the screen goes dark. Cannot turn it back on. If I slide off the bottom piece it comes on, when it slides back on it puts the screen back to sleep. If i take a stand alone magnet and put it up to the back of the phone where the kick stand would be it turns off. Thinking there is a design flaw. Gonna call Seidio tomorrow. Kinda sucks I've been waiting for their holster for a while now.
Edit: Definitley a design flaw, I found this on Google's Nexus 6P help forum:
"I have found there is a magnetic sensor in the Nexus 6P to detect when the folio case cover has been closed so as to lock and turn off the screen of the phone. The sensor is located in the bottom left corner when looking at the front of the 6P. I found that this sensor also reacts to a magnetic field applied to the back side of the Nexus 6P in this same area (bottom right corner when looking at the back of the 6P). Herein lies the problem... When trying to use Android Beam through NFC by holding the back of the 6P to the back of another device, a magnetic field from the other device (the speaker perhaps) can trigger the magnetic sensor in the Nexus 6P, causing the Nexus 6P to lock and go to sleep before the NFC sensors have aligned. Both my OnePlus One and my Neuxs 7 2013 will put my Nexus 6P to sleep if I don't hold them carefully enough when trying to align the NFC sensors. Can anyone else confirm this? Why does this sensor also pick up magnetic fields on the back of the phone? Is there a way to disable the magnetic sensor if not using a folio case so this does not happen when trying to use Android Beam?"
That's a big problem..
Could you please post some pics of the phone with the case?
Thanks!

I'll have to see if mine suffers the same issue when it arrives. I have 2 Nexus 6P's to test it on, so that should provide a little better sample size.

Going to call them in the morning. I'll post the response I get.
I also REALLY want the Surface case, but I'm holding off until more people receive theirs and post whether they experience the same thing. I've had a Surface case on all my phones for several years. It's the slimmest I've found, gives the best protection, and the kickstand doesn't add much bulk. Can't tell you how many times I've dropped my phone and never had a problem.

Agreed. Some of the best cases I've ever used on my phones.
Spoke to them this morning and explained the issue. They created an RMA and are going to ship out a modified version, I'm assuming without the kickstand. I was told not to worry about sending back the old case so I'm gonna see if there is a way to get the kickstand out in the meantime without destroying the bottom half.
My Sedio case is arriving today (earlier than expected), so I will post a review in my case OP. If the issue is present on either of my 6P's I will let everyone know.

I would actually prefer the case w/o the kickstand. I don't like the bump it creates. So hopefully they will release the case w/o it.
Thanks again for the update!

Mine doesn't have that issue at all. I'm using the case now, and I will post my review later today. I'm not that impressed with the way Sedio did their button cutouts, but more on that later.
Edit: It seems that the bottom piece on my case wasn't pushed up completely becasue when I removed the case and put it back on the screen kept shutting off/staying off depending on how I installed it.
I received the case yesterday and also immediately noticed the problem. I called they are also sending me a replacement.
Meanwhile, I popped out the kickstand and turned it around and it seems ok for now. with it flipped around, you can't get your nail in to open the kick stand so its essentially useless.
Its really unfortunate that they didn't catch this design bug before shipping.
(I will say, this case makes the 6P feel really thick - I'm trying to decide if I like it or not)

Out of curiosity how did you do that. I've been trying to figure out how to accomplish that.
I called sedio because my case bows outward on one side where the two pieces connect, but they refused to help me because I order from their Amazon store. Their customer service is horrendous, and the agent (Shane) I spoke with was rude about anything I asked. I'm disappointed with their service, and case so far. I plan on sending it back immediately because of how they handled a simple question.
Edit: I finally spoke with a manager, and after having her repeat the same thing a few dozen times (in between no letting me say anything) they are sending me a replacement. I can't say I've encountered a CSR this bad in a long time, so I will try to ignore their rude representatives and use the case.

The stand is just held in place by the black tape... you can see the black tape on the inside of the case. So you just gently push on the silver metal stand out the back - it should slowly release... it takes a little finesse but it's not terribly difficult.
Then once it's out, all you need to do is flip it around and stick it back in place...
Although the stand isn't accessible in this new orientation, at least, the case will work without turning the phone off.
I have the same issue with the screen turning off when the bottom part is slid on. Called them up and they're are sending a new modified version. They better send it 2nd day express which I paid extra for!

Can you post any pics? My biggest concern (once they iron out this magnetic closing issue) is the thickness. I have the Spigen Rugged Armour and love the sleekness, but I'd like a kickstand since I often watch stuff on my phone. Any more comments regarding the thickness and pictures would be great!

You can see my review of the case and pictures right here
The holster seems to be a bit spooky how it is designed. The phone hovers about an 1/8" above the surface from about midway up the holster to the top clamp. There is an 1/8" lip where the phone is placed on at the bottom of the holster where it rests. Maybe I'm being overly cautious here but it seems the phone could be bent over time if inserted enough times because of that extra space beneath the phone. .
So I just received a dimple.io full size for Xmas and I'm loving it so far. Currently I have the buttons programmed to open chrome, open textra and media pause play and next. I got the black one to match the back of my black back and I've been using them very often. They're set up horizontally centered under the moto dimple. The next step is to play with IFTT (tasker) and add some real functionality to my 7 hardware button mxpe. I just love the idea of adding buttons to a phone! I have dimples that actually do things!

Unfortunately the nfc lockscreen off enabler xposed module seems to be broken in marshmallow, I'm eagerly awaiting a fix so I can use the dimples when the phone is locked.
Could you post some pictures? I'd love to see how they fit under the camera. I have a case that leaves that part of the phone exposed, and I might buy one if I can fit it there.
Sorry for the quality it was taken with my z2 tablet
Nice! Thanks for the photos.

As cool as it sounds it just makes the phone look uglier (just my opinion)

As long as its not too thick that it interferes with nfc. Try using nfc with the case on first.
one could buy a cheapo tpu case and make a cut out for the dimples so the don't protrude as much. could be pretty sweet.
IMHO really overpriced for what it is.

Seriously takes away from the appealing look of the phone. Would love to know if it works through a case directly though (without cutting it), I think there might be a few interesting ways to disguise it then. Thanks!
I have since moved it to the front of my z2 tablet. The functionality is more useful on a tablet IMO. The adhesive held up nicely as well.
