Genuine vs fake battery - LG V10 Accessories

Does anyone know how to distinguish between a genuine and fake lg v10 battery?
I think mine came with a fake from an eBay seller.
Could someone please take some photos of their genuine battery and post here?
Mine is missing the water detection dot but the plastic moulding has a spot for it.

Here's mine. Both are genuine LG batteries.
I'm a new user, so I can't post external links, so copy these addresses to your browser address bar:

postimg.org/image/yxua56ocr/
postimg.org/image/no1ka8jbf/

Thanks.
My battery looks almost identical except the manufacturer appears to be Yantai Bonsung Electronics Inc.
I notice my charger is made by Donghwa which is the same company that makes your batteries.
Hmm maybe the v10 battery really just is terrible. Mine says it was made in 2016.07.08
I also noticed my battery feels lighter than the original one in my wife's LG G4. Both are meant to be same capacity (though different physical dimensions). Unfortunately I don't have accurate scales to compare weights

If the suspected fake battery gets too low, and you try to boot up, the phone says it is not original... At least that is what happens with my PowerBear extended battery. So, I suppose that is one way you might tell...?
I have two OEM batteries. One came with the phone and the other came from the LG promo. The labels are different. One has the BL-45B1F printed really large and the other really small. One has Korean writing, the other is all English. One has a date code of 2016.02.18 and the other has DC151009 (D) written in where the date code of the first is located. One of mine has the solid white dot and the other has red hashes through the white dot.
I bet its all good and OEM but different factories and batches.

Thats an after market battery, Yantai Bonsung Electronics a chinese firm that makes battery, and even they make batteries for LG, but the only way to find out if is genuine from LG is to compare it with the old genuine one, weight and writing will be different, OEM genuine batteries writing is bolder than after market ones, and it weights more than after market one, hope that helps

LG V10 battery is on sales on lg's website for $15, thought it was a great deal & ordered one.

Guys, I am very much troubled with 'Invalid battery-shutting down' error. Recently i had bought a battery for my H961N from Ebay which said it's LG genuine battery. Though I face a very strange issue. My phone started showing error message 'Invalid battery-shutting down' while I tried charging it after couple of days of usage with new battery. I figured out that this error comes only when my battery % dropped below 15%. Otherwise it won;t give that error. I tried hard reset, going back to MM from Nougat. None of these seems helping and I still have same issue. I checked battery physical connectors, they are all fine and not bent. Does anyone has come across the issue and resolved?? It seems I need to get a brand new LG battery to fix this issue.

I have fix this issue with updating to Nougat via LG Bridge. But I'm not sure what's the real problem with your phone. Maybe it's a motherboard problem. Anyway, how did you go back from Nougat to MM?

i have got same issue

My phone is dead ''Invaild Battrey" Please Help

Can someone tell me what battery to buy now lol

Quick update on two supposed genuine LG batteries.
After about 12-18 months of use, both batteries have started to cut out at about 40% and they both have started to swell up slightly.
Not impressed.

iRiver Qi Charger?

Found this on ebay, searched and didnt see a thread on it in here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-iRiver-...61833?pt=Battery_Chargers&hash=item3ccf66d989
All of the details are in Korean(?) so I cant read any of the details and its all in an image so I cant even copy + paste into Google Translate.
I see that this seller has sold 6 of them... wondering if anyone on here bought one?

Interesting, Not bad.
(oh and btw yeah that's Korean)
i remember the name iRiver from like 10-15 years ago with MP3 players & computer CD-Roms... but I dont know if its the same company.
Can anyone read Korean that can translate it?
I can read Korean.
they say Nexus 4 can be fully charged in 4 hours.

yeh iRiver is a quality Korean company. if it is legit product from them, it should be good.
Looks like a flat orb
60 bux pls 10USD shipping is pretty steep for a non OEM product. But if it works, why not eh? Anyone buy one yet?
And I have ordered a few things from Korea and it takes a bit of time to get it delivered to USA. Last item I got took 12 days to get to me.
iRiver? Is this the same company that made all those mp3 players? I thought they had disappeared for good after smartphones took over.

yup, same company as far as i can tell... but it could be like Polaroid where they went under and another company bought them just for their name.
Really 60 isnt too bad though considering the prices of other changers (assuming this thing is actually decent) The Metrans, Panasonic, LG, Energizer & Anker ones are all $60 + shipping. Its only the unbranded ebay ones that are like 35-40 and they dont seem to work as well.
I have ordered. Should arrive next week. Will give guys some review.

Awesome, can't wait to hear your review. I ordered the orb for home but I want a pad like this for at work. Make sure to take pics too!
This looks great, just a shame that its adapter powered only...would have been great if you could use this with a MicroUSB.
Just got the charger.
Black one.
Having it just for 1 hour. First impressions:
Wow, this thing is well made. You can feel the quality. It has almost the same corner finishing like N4 has. I mean metal-plastic border. So it looks awesone with N4 on top of it.
review:
* Size is like regular CD.
* It is not high.
* It has wavy top, for the heat to come out.
* The top has soft touch, but it's still a little slippery for my naked nexus4.
* It has 3 very low green lights on top, while in charge - they blink.
* You don't need to be extremelly specific where to put phone for charge, but the charging coll is in the middle, so it's best if you put the phone right on it.
* It does not give you any sounds!!! (manual says it has small beep, but haven't managed to trigger it )
* I am not sure, but it feels like it has some magnet inside, and once the phone is close to the charger, you can feel phone is attracted.
* It charges pretty quick. 1 hour - ~ 30% charged.
* The charge distance is pretty big, I can charge my N4 inside leather bugatti pouch. Tried to lift the phone it charged even phone was ~ 1cm away form the top of the charger. Works with OEM bumber, and silicone case as well.
* Adapter power only
* Update the post while it will finish first charger
Overall: Happy with the charger. Will definitely keep it. Will use at work and maybe order LG small one for home
Some pictures:
Couple of quick questions as a friend is interested in this charger...How long was shipping from korea and can you update if it charges to 100% as indicated on your nexus 4 and what happens if you leave your nexus 4 on it (light indicators etc) does the charger switch off and automatically start charging again after a certain time and are the lights annoyingly bright?.Thanks

1. shipped on 03/06/2013 got it on 03/22/2013 destination Lithuania, Europe. Packed very well.
2. lights are not annoying, they are 3 of them and located on the corners, but they are under the top. Light green light...
let you know the charging test results
update:
1. charging reached 100%. N4 stated - charged. Lights still blinking
2. lights stopped blinking - stay on green, phone discharges, charging does not start. You need to take and put down the phone for start charge again.
I think this is OK. Or do you expect the charger to charge even 1% dropped?
Hope this helps.
Usually it will drop to about 96% then start charging again. Can you leave it on a bit longer and see if it starts up again.
What is the output current on the charger?
Also the seller raised the price to 65 + 10 shipping.
Hi, was wondering if this charger will trickle charge to keep the phone around 100% or will turn off until the phone is put back on the pad.
Thanks!
It keeps n4 100%

Hm, contradictory statements.
So, guys, do you confirm, that it indeed supports trickle charging? I need my phone to stay 100% charged as long as it is on the pad.
If it starts to discharge as soon as 100% is reached and doesn't turn charging back on later (when charge drops to 90-97%), then, I assume, it doesn't have one?!

My SGS4 Melted Last Night :(

I woke up this morning and rolled over to grab my phone off the nightstand and was shocked to find that the phone was sitting in a small puddle of water and the USB port and cable were melted. There was a message in the status bar saying "High Powered USB Device Connected" and the phone had not charged. The phone will not recognize any USB cables either. The USB port is simply dead.
The water came from my CPAP machine which for some reason leaked a little last night. The water got in between the battery and back cover and must have shorted something out. Bummer.....
Called AT&T and they said that the warranty doesn't cover this damage (didnt tell them about the water though) because it could have came from a power surge in the home. Also, I don't have insurance on the phone and I do not have any upgrades available on my family plan AND I cannot add another line to my account without changing my family plan which would mean that I would lose my unlimited data plan which I'm grandfathered into. Im screwed....
Temporary Solution! - Galaxy S4 Spare Battery w/ Charger
I ran down to Frys Electronics here in town and they had 1 in stock. Now I can swap batteried daily (pain in the A$$) but it's my only option at this point short of buying another phone out right.
I have an SD card so I can still swap ROMS and stuff but I cannot go back to stock via Odin if I ever desired that.
Lessons Learned - Always buy insurance on your phone & dont charge next to a humidifier or water tank.

I always use spare batteries, I have 4 spares, it's way better than chargering. Post a video about it on YouTube. Someone else's s4 charger burned up their phone and Samsung got all butthurt and then Nokia sent them a new phone because Samsung tried to bury it. I don't charge my phone because IF I need the port I'll have it so I don't take the chance of ruining it.

Join the club buddy, I left mine on the charger 1 night for about 5hours and roll over out of bed picked it up only to burn my hand, after I drop my S4 because it was so hot, I find that half the screen was burned but still viewable, SIM card melted in the slot and the plastic slightly bent. Took it to a at&t repair center and they swapped it out on the spot. No question asked.

Motorola Pack Pack Micro

I just received mine in the mail yesterday. Cool a$$ little device. It charges, functions as a trusted BT device, finds my phone, my phone finds it. Moto Connect reads the remaining battery.
I was concerned that it would be too big for my keys, which is not the case. I'm very happy with it. AMA about it.

I've had one of these a few weeks now (2 actually, but haven't opened the second one up).
The battery drain is less than 1% per day. Since receiving mine and fully charging it, I hadn't charged it at all for at least two weeks and the juice was just down to 90% with the BT turned on.
Unlike the first poster, I find the thing just a hair too large to put on my key chain, but I also have my car's electronic key and another BT tether device on my keychain (no actual keys, though!). I just put my PP in my back pocket (work slacks, not jeans).

First, it will not charge the device fully. The Power Pack's capacity is 1500mAh, while the Moto X 2014's capacity is 2300mAh. So you're looking at getting about 65% of your battery back at optimal performance, minus some due to technical inefficiencies, and some more due to other limitations.
Second, it charges at 1A. The Moto's charger is 1150mA (1.15A), so it charges the phone slightly slower than the stock charger.
Hope this helps! I personally don't see the value in $40 for such a device, but if I lost my keys and/or phone more often it'd totally be worth it.
Yeah I regret buying it. Every time I use it it only change like maybe 30%+ from a full micro

Innacurate Battery Meter Percentage

Hi my battery meter on my Idol 3 doesn't seem to recognize whether its charging or draining. It'll stay at 55% while charging for 1+ hour and the only way to get the actual charge is to restart my device. I've tried flashing different roms/kernels and draining the battery and charging to 100%. Just wanted to know if anyone had encountered this problem with this device or other and if you were able to fix it.

Hello, one of the ways that you can solve this problem is :
1º : do a factory reset
2º: take your battery to 0%, (turn off your phone)
3º then recharge to 100%
this will recalibrate the battery sensor.
(if anything is wrong correct me please )
Regards.
It can be these two things:
Battery defect
Software bug
Factory resetting wipes the batterystats, (no need to charge to 0-100)
Should it stay the same, it's most likely the battery.

I've had similar problems. Seems hit or miss. But when it isn't working it will show a ? for the amount of charge remaining and or a notification that it is -107%.

Ensure you use the original charger and good (original) cable. And the rest as my predecessors said.
If you are not on stock (you wrote you tried different kernels etc.) use the Pc app "mobile upgrade Q" version 4.9.2 or 4.9.7 to go back to stock.
If it will not help, just call the customer support and send it back to seller.

I'm not having any issues charging. I'm just having an issue on what the phone is reporting the charge as. Below is a screenshot showing one hour of use starting at 100% without being plugged into a charger.

I ment that defect power supply or usb cable, then it can confuse the software.
and if you flash the stock firmware using the pc app? its still the same? If yes, then return the device.

I'm using CM12.1 with the stock kernel. I'll reset first to see if it wipes the battery statistics then take it from there. I typically use an Anker quickcharge 2.0 charger for home and a Tronsport quickcharge 2.0 charger in my car.
I'll post once I can backup everything and reset.

discharge the device and then charge it with original charger ( 2A)

That had no effect. I'll try resetting as soon as I have some down time.
Issues
Thus as well is happening to me. At first the battery was reading -107%, but now it's just reporting 0%
i think if reset to stock firmware and factory reset dont help send it to seller and claim warranty repair. thats all.

Yeah. Looks like it comes to that as the battery with it's inaccurate reading actually undercharged today and know the battery is only lasting about 2 hours (screen off) from what I believe is a full charge. Too late to return it now, but I can still get it fixed hopefuly, I just wish I could find a replacement battery online to avoid such a thing.

why too late to return? you cant have the device for more than a year.
I finished returning to stock and it is even worse. Because it thinks the battery is at 0% it will shut down the moment it boots up. At least with CM12 I was able to use it. I will attempt to return to Cricket tomorrow. Hopefully I don't need to deal directly with Alcatel for the warranty.

You are right. The device comes with a one year warranty from Alcatel where I've had the device for less than three months. I would have much rather returned it to the retailer (Amazon) it's too late for that so I'll have to deal with Alcatel. Hopefully all goes right since the creation of this thread has revealed at least another person with the issue

Hope all goes well you. Even though it doesn't seem like it now, switching back to stock was a good idea as the warranty should be honored by Alcatel again in the event that Cricket won't help you out with your problems.

I will return it to Alcatel. I assumed I would have to go through them. I did some searching and it appears we aren't the only ones that have had issues. It just seems different if you aren't using the stock rom.

May I ask when you purchased the device? I'm interested in knowing if it's perhaps a bad batch of battery controllers. Also is your battery greatly shortened like mine is? THe curiosity is real.
May need to change carriers. Cricket says that because there is a tiny ding on the corner that is only visible on close inspection my warranty is void and there is nothing they can do for me. This phone is less than 3 months old.

That's some bull**** man. Luckily I got the unlocked varient and my phone is in literally perfect physical condition. Hope all goes well with Alcatel, I think it will cause we're far from the only people with the problem and our phones seems to be manufactured at the same time, so that leads me to believe there's a bad batch. If Alcatel doesn't honor their warrenty then I will never purchase another Alcatel ever again. Their service regarding Marshmallow for their flagship is already bad enough.

Random shutdowns to 0% battery

Hello all
I have a G-930F running stock 7.0 Nougat and am not rooted. Recently my phone randomly shuts down and when restarted manually says the phone as 0% battery, despite the phone being on 60% before turning off. I got a 64gb micro SD card for Christmas which is the only major change I have made to my phone. Does anyone know what could be causing this/do I need to fit a new battery?
Please find attached a screenshot of my battery usage.

Could be the battery has failed, not uncommon amongst the S7's from the number of people I see complaining about the same thing
Could try clearing cache from recovery, and even a factory reset just to be sure it's not firmware related
Maybe even flash stock again with ODIN
Thanks for your response
Ive wiped the cache, if it continues will factory reset/flash stock
Might just be easier to get a new battery tbh

Probably, but would suck if you went through the whole process of heatgun removing the back of the phone, killing the IP68 waterproofing, warranty etc, just to find it still did it because of firmware
Probably is the battery though
Where are you (and your phone) when this happens?
It might be related to cold temperatures.
I had a similar issue anytime I use my phone out in the cold, the battery drops almost instantly.

I'm in London and it is quite cold, I'll take note of the temperature when/if it happens again, maybe even turn up the heating hahah
It happened today afternoon and it was very cold, and this morning where it also was quite cold so this could play a part, weird tho as I'm also in Sheffield where it is also quite cold and this problem didn't occur

I'm right on the coast of the North East UK and it's snowing and icy outside, very cold in the mornings in the house before heating comes on, and no issue with the S7 battery (My iPad screen is so cold it needs wiping before I can use it, like condensation over the screen)
Although if the battery was on it's last legs anyway, it's possible the cold could affect it in ways it wouldn't to a healthy battery
I don't know how accurate AccuBattery is in telling the health of the battery, but it is in very poor condition, I've also reformatted my sd card, and the phone has not yet restarted (fingers crossed), will probably replace the battery in the new year
I've been getting the same experience .. I live in NL and it's not that cold .. the last time it happen was just now, and it's 12 degree outside ..
I think it got something to do with the last update (that was the last major change I had) ..

So yesterday it happened again so I removed the SD card however about 2 minutes ago it happened again, so I think it is due to the battery itself, will have to replace in the new year since I made my warranty invalid by getting my screen replaced and they removed the gold sticker on the inside
I have now replaced the battery, turns out the original had swollen quite considerably, as you can hopefully see in the pictures. The battery should be as thick as the black section and the grey part entirely on the bottom face.
Will report back if random restarts/switching off still occurs

Yea that's when it starts filling with gas, the plastic casing is airtight, but the gas is flammable if it leaked, I've had an MP3 player do that and the battery swole up so much it popped the front off the MP3 player, it was almost rounded
Hopefully your problems are solved
been two days no issues so the new battery seems to have done the trick
i did tweet samsung about the swollen battery, they gave me a call but since i did the repair myself they obviously won't look into it, but didnt answer my question about whether or not this was a known issue/could it happen to other people etc
You solved it allready. ...
yesterday I received a software update for the phone ... so last night I let my phone run through the battery ... this morning I woke up and it still on with batt level around 39 percent ... before, I could never reach 50 percent .. It would go from 60 something percent than suddenly died ..
